5241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC exist without Fiat? on: July 18, 2021, 12:02:09 AM
Bitcoin could exist without fiat, but I have no idea how the prices of goods and services would be stipulated, but I guess it would be a chaotic mess and at some point bitcoin would probably be put aside and people would just trade goods for goods or goods for services, not using any currencies anymore. I think bitcoin works better if there is fiat coexisting, so we can have a better parameter when spending our money.
5242  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the popularity of cryptocurrency continue? on: July 17, 2021, 08:02:00 PM
Cryptocurrency is a popular trend in the current currency economy field, and many people are concerned about choosing the crypto market industry. The decentralization of cryptocurrency prevents it from being recognized and protected by the official government of any country. It is under the influence of the supply and demand market. At the same time, there are very many people buying and very few people selling, which will lead to rapid price increases. Then the dealer inhaled a large amount of money, causing the price to rise to a certain level and then clear it, and then retail investors will be injured. While it brings profits to investors, it also has risks.
Recently, the popularity of multiple cryptocurrency markets has continued to increase, and many traditional investment users have also begun to pay attention to the cryptocurrency market. How long can this trend last? Will it always exist?
The cryptocurrency trend will not break, the whole world will adopt it in the future...

nowadays many big banks don't like cryptocurrency and we have to be aware of it but even so, crypto transactions around the world continue to increase, this shows that the trend of cryptocurrency will not stop again.
Yes, crypto currency adoption isn't going to retreat for a long time yet. But I'm not sure if I could say the same specifically about decentralized crypto currency. As we can see in daily news, governments are adopting crypto and introducing it in their own financial systems, through the development of stable national coins, however it has nothing to do with decentralized crypto currency we have been used to since the beginning.
If they succeed in creating their own stable crypto currencies, I think there is some risk the popularity of currencies like bitcoin may decrease, because there is a tendency these countries will impose more severe restrictions and regulations over the decentralized side of this universe, while creating a lot of hype on their own side.
5243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Video] Bitcoin miners vs Third-world government steamroller! on: July 17, 2021, 06:03:26 PM
That is ridiculous, but a very common practice in third world countries at same time. Have you ever heard the saying *every country has the government it deserves*?

The people behind this action are those who the people of the country allowed to rule themselves. It doesn't matter the local system: monarchy, oligarchy, tirany, democracy... That is what most people allow to happen in their territory. If there were a serious judiciary and revolt from the public opinion, I believe the responsibles for this act should have to pay each dollar these machines priced to the public vaults.
5244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The point of Dogecoin. on: July 17, 2021, 05:33:30 PM
Is there really any points of dogecoin other than to meme it and use it as a pump and dump?

I think the Dogecoin pump has an important purpose for global investors who are behind the scenes, and the one playing in front of the face is Elon Musk. We know Elon Musk can't do it alone, he has a large group that makes Dogecoin an investment target. And now Dogecoin is being dumped on a massive scale, and the victims are those who buy above the peak.
i am sure to said that Elon Musk working with several whales secretly to shake dogecoin and cyrptocurrency price. with popularity and huge money supply it is easy for them to shake us. Current manipulation was very structured well as if ll of this run naturally. And now after their bag full , it is best time  saying goodbye to doge
Unfortunatelly Elon Musk ruined dogecoin and I fear it's not going to remain like the old good dogecoin everyone knew and was sympathetic for even though it didn't have an expensive price or speculative potential. That is all he was able to achieve with his shady pump and dump scheme manipulating the weak minds of his audience while badmouthing bitcoin.
I don't know if the guy really thought he could overcome bitcoin with his influence or if he was just looking for short run insane gains with dogecoin.
5245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambler? on: July 16, 2021, 09:57:32 PM
Being realistic, not everyone can be a gambler if we take the meaning of this word seriously. To be a gambler you need to have money to spend in decent amounts in a daily, weekly or monthly basis. And as i observe, most people looking to earn through signature campaigns are people who are looking for extra income to fulfill their daily needs. How could these people give themselves the luxury of being gamblers? That is simple impossible, because the first rule in gambling is just play with money you can afford to lose.

So no, most members here aren't gamblers. And although these negative sentence is already enough for some people come wielding their torches and pitchforks, I think there is nothing wrong about this fact, since to be a gambler isn't a requirement to join signature campaigns or even to like discussing the subject inside or outside this forum.

As it was said in the beginning of the thread by another user: forum members have always the option to block someone they don't like reading the content of what they write. It's a pretty simple solution for a pretty simple issue.
5246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Axie Infinity's popularity is sustainable? on: July 16, 2021, 04:53:26 PM
Sustainable? Based on my 20+ years as a gamer, NO.

Video games have a low life span because people get easily bored. Yes, some games can last longer, for example CS, Dota, etc., but they have something in common, i.e., difficult, team play, and extremely competitive.

With "play to earn" mantra, people won't play if they cannot earn. And you think people can always earn without actually creating wealth?
It's possible to mix a competitive gameplay with a play to earn feature. Take Runescape as an example. It's a mmorpg with a complex real time economy, with thousands of items, dozens of skills and hundreds of different activities. The game is alive since 2002 and it's still in the top 10 of most played mmorpgs in 2021.
The introduction of NFT and the end of real world trading ban would turn Runescape into a perfect play to earn game. Actually people already earn by playing it, but they have to do secretly and many are banned while trying, because the game doesn't allow such thing. It's a pitty developers don't allow people to do it legally. In fact it wouldn't harm the game in anyway.

But since real world trading isn't allowed there, the hope is that a new similar game appears featuring this possibility. That is why I like Lost Relics blockchain game concept. Although the game is being developed slowly and only by one man, the game would have potential if more people were hired to work on it and make content creation faster.
5247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Axie Infinity's popularity is sustainable? on: July 16, 2021, 03:31:09 PM
In such rates I think it's not sustainable, because what we are currently seeing is a hype and as everyone knows hypes don't last forever. Once it finishes we will see a considerable fall in Axies stuff's prices. I'm not saying the game is going bankruptcy, but just that investors must be aware the ROI may take longer than they first imagined if they are unlucky to enter the game in the wrong moment.
However it's not possible to say when it's going to happen. It may take a long time or not. It will depend on how much adoption Axies Infinity will be able to get and if it's going to increase fast or slowly. As I see adoption is increasing surprisingly fast and servers are presenting constant issues due to this fact.
5248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FIFA World Cup 2022: Qualifying Games For Qatar on: July 16, 2021, 03:30:30 AM
A team that I always wanted to see reaching further in world cup is Japan. The players don't have individual excellent skills like speed and dodge, but in group they actually make a good job with very technical programmed strategies that sometimes overcome more skilled teams, what is very entertaining. Last time they faced a much superior team that was Belgium and still offered a decent challenge to the opponent, although they lost (3-2).
I felt bad for them. They tried so hard and it wasn't sufficient yet. I hope next year they are able to reach at least a step further, that is the quarter finals.
5249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT is an interesting space on: July 16, 2021, 01:55:03 AM
I believe in the future there will be an open source mmorpg online game platform where players will be able to create their own items and introduce them inside the game to sell for real money through NFTs. Probably thousands or millions of people will be living from games' income by the end of this decade. Everyone agrees there is a lot of potential and infinite possibilities on this field, it just need to be more explored.
So far the gaming industry has been very profitable for developers, while majority of gamers (customers) only spend time and money without further benefits besides the transitory entertainment. NFTs have the power to change this reality and make games profitable for both sides.
5250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do many mainstream economists always oppose Bitcoin? on: July 15, 2021, 06:54:43 PM
In my opinion, this is determined by the interests they represent. Many economists currently do not live independently. They need to depend on the government to survive. They need to help the government formulate various economic policies, financial policies, and monetary policies, so their starting point and interests must represent the government's will and interests. Therefore, in their world, the status of legal tender must be the most important and correct. On the contrary, they have forgotten the demands of the people and the interests of the people. Bitcoin stands on the side of the people, allowing the people to obtain their own asset freedom, and naturally stands on the opposite side of some economists.

This is my point of view, what do you think of this?
I think you just nailed it. We see the so called specialists because they appear on the media (our main source of information), so it's natural the media only invites specialists who corroborate with their point of view, that is the same point of view of governments, since there is a lot of public sponsorship at mainstream media channels or sponsorship from businessmen who have deals and are benefited by the governments.
All these people are linked in a chain that will defend the interests of each other, while the individuals stay outside this chain, only being abused by these entities who rule the world as we know. But I believe there are many economists who also think the opposite of what we see on the main channels, however they are never going to be highlighted anywhere.
5251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vegas Casinos to allow Cannabis Lounges. on: July 15, 2021, 05:32:03 PM
If you are against the legalization of marijuana than you're an idiot.  Plain and simple.
Wow, you look really angry because some people don't cheer on drugs use. I believe no one is forcing you to stop smoking your weed. Everyone is free to do what they want with their lives. People think it's exciting to gamble while under drugs' effects and they have the right to go ahead into this psychodelic adventure. That is how free will works since the beginning of the world, but there are consequences that can't be avoided.

And although it's a clear sign of the decadence of the individual, there is also a good side on it that is the bad propaganda every drugs' user makes for drugs usage. The youngsters think they are smarter than everyone else for using drugs the same way those old hippies from 60's-70's and artists in general thought during their days. Just look how those people have gotten older (or died). That is the perfect propaganda against drugs.
5252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: July 15, 2021, 03:21:54 PM
I think high taxation doesn't send the right message, because it doesn't work as it was supposed when theoreticians first imagined it. High taxation over gambling just creates an informal market of illegal casinos that will offer better playing conditions for average citizens, while the legalized ones will have only wealthy citizens as customers.
For this reason a fair taxation is enough and brings everyone together in a legalized environment where no one will be putting themselves in risk when gambling. Theoreticians who create such stupid rules should keep in mind they just can't forbid people from playing.
5253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is heartbreaking on: July 15, 2021, 02:05:46 AM
make elon musk have no power again by didnt follow his shill about meme coin , its have been take alot victim especially beginer traders that want instant profit . Meme coin truely only speculation assets in cryptocurrency market , and we should be wise when decided buying this coin.
It seems like a very good strategy, but you also need to know that Elon Musk is a person who has the power and ability to create influence and fomo on meme coins, so it is difficult to beat him with words at this point, and for novice traders who become victims, it is also because they are too trusting in people they do not know fully.
Yes, that is actually true. Doesn't matter what we say here, the final decision will still belong to each investor. If they want to listen to Elon Musk they will do it, even though it is clear this guy caused huge damage to crypto market, especially bitcoin. But I believe once these investors lose money by following who they shouldn't, they will learn the lesson and stop doing that futurely. Some people only learn through the pain, so be it.
5254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past two months bitcoin journey on: July 14, 2021, 10:20:08 PM
Congratulations for this decision and thanks for sharing your personal investment's strategy with the public. If people realized how much money they waste in superfluous things they would understand why they aren't able to improve their financial life. Details like not spending in games or street food (that is a lot more expensive than cooking at home) make all the difference.
And it's not about being a miser person, it's just a responsible decision to save money for the future and present a progressive line of financial development along the years, what is really good for our welfare and self-esteem.
5255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vegas Casinos to allow Cannabis Lounges. on: July 14, 2021, 08:39:49 PM
Believe me, everything is much more fun after smoking marijuana and you are hungry a lot to go on a gambling adventure. It even seems to me that person is much more cautious after marijuana than alcohol.
That is not a good thing, because the person is artificially provoking a behavior on their body that isn't spontaneous. Worse yet, it is being caused by putting dangerous substances into their bodies. Public opinion thinks it's beautiful to be a drugs user nowadays, but these people are actually too young to know anything about the side effects this activity will cause futurely. Even mental ilness are related to drugs use.
And the more the person uses it, the more they will want. You said people become funny after smoking marijuana, however they won't be able to have any fun without this drug anymore, always having to use it constantly to feel good. In other words: the person becomes slave or a prisioner of the drug.

And indeed, an artificially happiness feeling can lead the individual to do absurd things momently, like spending more than he can afford to lose in gambling.
5256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 14, 2021, 07:38:05 PM

a few days ago Argentine media, Diario Ole put forward the idea of holding a match between the champions of the Copa America (Argentina) and the champions of the Euro (Italy), if this could happen it would certainly be a very interesting match to watch, because we will see how the teams from different continents will display different styles of football, and the match will be like the Club World Cup, which indeed brings together the champion league winner with the uefa league winner so far.
In your opinion, if the match happened, who would be the winner?
It looks like the european soccer became superior to the latin american one if we take the previous results of world cups from 2010 on. Argentina might be the best of the Americas, but I think Italy or even some other european teams would overcome them. I believe this because european teams don't focus only in one player, like Argentina focus in Messi, instead they focus in a balanced team where every player is important and capable of doing a good job, what neutralizes the strategies of teams which rely in only one idol. So in this case Italy would be my guess...
5257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: July 14, 2021, 06:10:21 PM
I'm just curious how you guys feel about Sha'Carri Richardson being banned or suspended from the Olympics and then ultimately being left off the 4 x 100 sprinter relay team?

It's unfortunate timing. She got a tiny ban, due to the fact that whilst marijuana doesn't enhance performance, it's still illegal. It just so happens that the tiny ban covers the period of the olympics 100m. The rules are the rules, and there isn't really any room to manoeuvre, there has to be a ban of some sort. As for her not being in the relay team which comes a bit later and after the end of the ban... I think again they have little choice. They have to be seen as being consistent. It would be difficult to justify including a runner in one event who is banned from the individual version.

It's not a great situation, and it feels harsh on her, but the rules can't be bent... that would set a terrible precedent.

No sympathy for Sha'Carri. Athletes need to take great care while taking food, to make sure that they are not consuming any items containing prohibited substances. Even previously there have been cases of individual athletes getting bans for mistakenly consuming banned substances. And in case of Sha'Carri, she was already aware that weed was banned and still consumed it. Who should be blamed here? It is not possible to provide exemptions on an individual basis. If weed is permitted today, then tomorrow some people may ask for glass and crack.
True. Athletes have a lot of responsabilities and a duty to fulfill when they accept to represent their countries in an international competition. It's important to mention they weren't forced to it. They are there because they wanted and agreed with all terms and conditions.

In this case the rule makes total sense and must be followed, since everyone knows not only marijuana, but also drinks and common cigarettes are harmful to the athlete's endurance and performance, what will prejudice the country they are representing on the competition. Newer generations think they can change how everything was made before and introduce their own rules or just destroy the older ones as if these rules were created without any logical reasons.

I have never tried this modality of gambling and I prefer to not try it, because I think these are two separate things that shouldn't be mixed. I believe gamblers like it to be praised by the women during the game, right?
If this is for Online casino betting then i don't see any reason why there are praising that will happen when the game is only happening thru video and we don't even know if it is live or just computer operated.
As things are evolving, I believe it won't take too long until they create online gambling sections where the gambler will have the option of hiring a woman to watch his game in real time. Similar to those lives girls do on social medias watching any kind of video with lots of people who donate to these lives. Maybe such thing regards gambling already exists, who knows...

But in my opinion there isn't satisfaction if the attraction isn't reciprocal. To know the other person is praising you just because they are in fact desiring your money looks uninteresting for me.
There is no praising need in gambling because mostly we gamble to Win and care nothing about the Sexy girls unless you are a sex maniac that seeking for other pleasure than gambling then best go to strip club and don't in gambling casino.
Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

5260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling or playing? on: July 14, 2021, 01:52:30 AM
I am sure most of you have played videogames of one short or another and many have noticed that may offer gambling in-game options - I am thinking mostly of Role Games and MMPORGs -  like implementing a casino or some short of fortune game. As an old example, Fallout New Vegas has an in-built game called Caravans, but you can play blackjack, roulette, etc... Newer games that are free to play or cheap to play offer lotteries that award prices such as unique or rare in-game items...

There is currently quite an effort on using these techniques in games that should not be about gambling or chances playing and some people may find undesirable. Is this going too far? What type of effect may this game on underaged players?
I started seeing this feature in online games about ten years ago from on. It was a strategy used by these games to increase their receipt besides selling traditional membership packages (cosmetic items were also introduced on those times). There is the traditional wheel of fortune which you need to buy spins with real money or win one or few spins daily for login into the game. This was adopted by several online games.
Some prizes were common items you could acquire anytime in the game, but others were rare and offered for limited time, so people felt under pressure to buy those spins before the time ran out.

However, I've never seen these games involving real money prizes. They get your money, but offer only virtual rewards to you. For me that isn't interesting for this reason. Now blockchain mmorpgs will change this scenario and make things interesting for both sides: developers and players.
