It is probably best to avoid buying giftcards altogether, so many people here have been ripped off by these on the forums. Escrow won't protect you in these transactions as it may be days, weeks or months later that the giftcard is discovered as fraudulent - the buyer is on the hook. The small amount you might save is not worth the massive risk.

No it wont. All is well. If its not for my personal family issues, site would've already been up and running. Been utterly busy.
It always sets off alarm bells when people keep bringing up "personal family issues" when a repayment is coming up shortly. Only because plenty of scammers in the past have used that as a smoke screen to disappear when the money is due. I am sorry if your family is having difficulties, but you entered a business transaction - not a personal one.

Interesting domain but the price is very high. You should set up a small (5 page?) website around the topic of this crypto-currency, so the new owner won't have to spend a longer time to start ranking in the search engines. Good luck with the sale

I think bitcoin has already shot up in price over the last year - so you've got to be happy with the price increase already. Trump said alot of divisive things to get elected and he has already gone back on some of the policies that he ran his campaign on. He may have had the loudest voice, but I don't think he's going to change very much at all.

You have listed most of the main events throughout 2016 and the world is getting increasingly unstable, so people are looking for alternative stores of value. I would say that decentralization and anonymity are two strong key factors that contribute heavily towards the increase in value. Just as tax authorities and governments are finding ways to find "black" money, Bitcoin is offering a way to transfer money over borders.

In the United States, bitcoin is treated as an item of property and is subject to property tax. Whereas in the United Kingdom, bitcoin is treated as private money and is subject to value added tax, corporate tax, income tax and capital gains tax. Since bitcoin is property in the US, when lost or stolen, there are deductions available. Does it mean that when taxed under UK laws, bitcoin cannot be subject to any deductions or exemptions because it is not property but money? What about when bitcoin is given as a gift - what is the proper way of taxation?
The law obviously changes as it crosses borders, depends on whether you are buying/selling and it varies based on the people completing the transation as well. US laws are not relevant to the UK and vice versa. Do you mean a gift, like giving to charity or simply sending money to someone? I would imagine it is very hard to prove that you "gave away" anything without trying to gain some sort of benefit.

There are so many scams it is impossible to name them all, if you want to find the ones that people are falling for at the moment (which may be the hardest to spot) then go to the Trading Discussion > Scam Accusations of this forum

The last one I sold for just under $300. Without the buyers discretion I cant help you beyond that.
But what was the coin number? I bought one of these ethercoin's at around this price - wish I had bought from moonrock at the lower price instead but the lack of trading history put me off a little. That said, everyone needs a few initial sales to establish trust.

Final price drop for the Cryptolator, you can now pick them up for close to the original retail price!

Steam have cracked right down on this type of gambling, right? I'm not sure there is any value in these emails because the person buying it would be sending unsolicited spam and could be liable to prosecution. You might get 0.1 btc for it but asking for multiple bitcoins seems like you're dreaming. Can you verify you owned any website because they might just as easily have been hacked and stolen.

I think it has been that way for a long time and it is at a lot of forums. I believe some forums do it to cut down the bandwidth consumption that search engine bots take up, they have no obligation to show your links and you have to be happy they allow it at all

So am I the only one who is used to SMF?
It is so stable.
@dreamer81, it looks the way it looks however design can always be changed even if it would (which probably wont happen) remain SMF.
I think there are some users on here that still like the old design better. I'm pretty comfortable with the current look of the forum because it was here when I was first introduced to bitcoin. Ah, the memories That's the first time I've seen the "beta" version link and definitely prefer the current layout. It may just be the colour scheme needs to be more pale but it's like visiting blackhatworld with all those dark colours on the new one.

I'm just curious, why do you need to know where they are being hosted? It is irrelevant to you using it as a service. Judging from all the DDOS attacks that btctalk has been receiving lately I doubt they really want to shout that information out to everyone. You can use the DNS lookup service at centralops.net to get the information if you really want it.

I like to look around a variety of the boards here, but I have never seen such a consistent trend of one-sided spammers as I do when looking at the Politics section of the forum. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions and should be free to share them. What I don't think acceptable is never altering your position based on the facts and discussions presented to you - this is just blind ignorance or biased propaganda.
That seems to be happening a lot in the politics section of the forum, where 9 of 10 posts are some weird twist on an event involving Russia or a jab at someone who is taking a stand against them. When you question these people, you are frequently ignored or personally attacked - without reasonable answers being acknowledged.
These usernames appear frequently, along with a few "smaller" accounts which pop up:
Masha Sha BADecker Sex Video Chat VKcams.com Jet Cash Vika NSFW
I don't really know the solution, but perhaps removing any post count from registering in the politics section would slow these people down or remove the incentive for a wall of one-sided political spam.

Where is the evidence? This is another fake Putin! No one would believe that. Why is this not confirmed by the OSCE? Show where the Ukrainians have such weapons.
OSCE fails to fulfill its functions. Everything is much worse than the report of the OSCE. Prohibited weapons are used. No shit prohibited weapons are used, Putin supplied a friggen' anti aircraft missile battery to the "rebels" that took down a commercial airplane. OSCE might not be the best, but Russian forces have zero transparency so can be trusted even less. What a lovely supporter of Russia we have here - advertising sex cams in their username.
