However, it should be noted that Wolverhampton can also secretly snatch the 4th position because Wolverhampton also still has a gap of 2 matches that he has not finished.

Yeah, Wolves, Arsenal and Spurs are the teams very likely for the race in top 4. Given the performances I would say it would be tough race between Arsenal and Wolves. Spurs are already struggling right now but they have world class players who can turn their team's performance. Honestly its very congested in for top 4 and anyone from Man United to Spurs in current table can get that spot.

Arsenal, on the form they've been in. Quietly moving up the ranks and beating inferior opposition. Pretty strange to see no one mention Leicester actually, while the likes of Everton and West Ham have so quickly fallen down the ranks of UCL spots, though I see them as outsiders for Europa League spots.

If Spurs find a way to win today, Conte is still alive.
5262  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-02-10] CNBC: Binance is taking a $200 million stake in Forbes on: February 19, 2022, 11:46:44 AM
Guess Binance doesn't mind buying brands with reputational baggage. CMC, now Forbes.
The thing is, the people Binance are targeting with their advertising probably don't know or care about reputational baggage. They aren't looking for serious bitcoin users who are interested in the purpose of decentralized currency and the technology behind it. This is evident by how long it took them to implement things like Segwit and their silence on things like Lightning, the fact they try to trick users in to withdrawing a fake bitcoin centralized token instead of actual bitcoin, and all the scam tokens and ICOs they list and run competitions and giveaways for. They are looking for newbies in the space who will gamble on all these scam ICOs and make Binance some profit, or will buy their centralized scam tokens. Such users don't care that CMC rankings are manipulated by Binance, or they don't even know that CMC is owned Binance at all. They won't care that Forbes articles are biased towards Binance, or contain Binance referral links. They are just here to get rich quick.

@buwaytress. Wait for forbes tokens, only available in Binance smart chain through Pancakeswap and can be staked though the ForbesDAO for more tokens hehehe.
I know you are joking, but I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.

Hate to admit it, but the guys behind Binance marketing and business development are probably the most in sync with all their other departments -- and they're a spider with many legs. They've got their charity (not just CSR like the other exchanges but an actual tax-deductible non-profit), their b2c/b2b commerce, banking compliance, their logistics, they've got their academy, they've got their data guys, their incubator, and now a solid PR arm. And soon it'll be as you say: consumers completely unaware they're using all the services and products, consuming all the media, knowledge and marketing, all belonging to a single corporate entity.

Only region I know they failed to get a direct foothold in was Africa, which surprised me, and still don't know the full story there.

Forbestoken will be very profitable because of extreme burning mechanisms, right? While Bitcoin only has a laughable obsolete scarcity mechanism.
5263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 19, 2022, 09:21:02 AM
First game in a few hours, will miss it but tonight's the one I will want to watch without distraction. Liverpool win their game in hand is non-negotiable. I will offer a prayer to Conte so he imbues his squad with the same magic that let them win the last time around.

Yeah, I have a habit of doing incredibly long odd accumulators which never come in. Think the most I've actually won is 1k. I seriously thought Aston Villa were going to make it look easy, not just win. Although, I didn't watch the game since Liverpool were on at the same time, I was somewhat following a live commentary, and I saw that there was multiple factors which slowed the game down. Plus, the goal they conceded was a deflection, so overall not a great day.

At the end of the day my view point is I gamble occasionally for fun, I don't do it expecting to win, I do it for incredibly long odds, which if they did come in could potentially be life changing. Seriously, I've had accumulators go up to the millions, obviously never came in, but I tried Tongue.

I usually stick a little amount 0.5-20p on a few of the both teams to score in both halves, 2 corners each team in each half and two cards each accumulators on skybet. You can get huge odds on them especially when you combine 2-4. I was literally one goal and one corner away from a ridiculous sum fairly recently. I've put a quid on it tonight on the Manchester Utd v Brighton match at 101 odds so that will net me 101 but I'm only expecting 1-1 in the game to be honest but it's worth the punt. Could see a fair few goals and it could get a bit spicy if things aren't going United's way.

I remember captain talking about this Sky special, would definitely think Liverpool a good candidate for that kind of hit!

I think the only time I ever did accas for over a million were back when Multimaster was still a weekly affair. Easily 8-digit fiat values for BTC winnings with only 0.1 mbtc staked, and this was when Bitcoin hadn't gone on this crazy rally!

I do put beer cash on the state lottery too. Arguably much more unlikely to hit but if I do, it WOULD be life-changing simply because winnings are enforced to be paid out monthly as a salary for 40 years. Good luck, I'd love to hear about one of you (or me) hitting something crazy here.
5264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador positions itself as the first Bitcoin city at Expo2020 in Dubai on: February 19, 2022, 08:45:38 AM
There are already several Bitcoin Cities... and one of the originals is in Arnhem, Netherlands. And while it's far from being a super Bitcoin-accepted-everywhere city, it's still one of the most realistic examples of how one should look like. A healthy, vibrant network of local merchants and dwellers and tourists who want to spend Bitcoin and want to try out new tech, not because their mayor or president incentivised them to.

What exactly impressed you anyway? Anyone remember when Akon got land from the government to build his own fantasy crypto city with Akon coin or whatever? I wonder what happened to that dream.

Anyone care for a Torino upset tonight? They were great, then shit, but arguably, so have Juventus in this see-saw start to the year too -- the only difference is 3 winless games in a row for the away team and I can't remember the last time Juventus lost. November?

I don't mind sharing a 3-1 win for Old Lady.

no lose mid-week for Spanish teams in Europa league, but Real did not make it in Paris, Mbappe scored with a bell

One team I wrongly picked to perform strongly after the break to be honest. Them appearing in the Copa del Rey semi was their best night in decades, and of course they can still win the return leg and force themselves into the final, but I should have paid more attention to internal issues. Had no idea fans and president were all at war, and that's been getting worse and affecting the games and team. After beating Barca, Alaves, Espanyol winter took all their form away, what a shame.

I noticed no Spanish team in Conference league, didn't keep track so didn't even realize until now. What happened there?

Villareal was supposed to be La Liga representative in Conference league but because of United, they won the rights to play-off for UCL and well, imagine the gap between one win and one loss... Spurs in Conference and Villareal in UCL Last 16 vs Juventus!

schiff is a gold guy.. so he actually does know about underlying value of assets.. but pretends btc has none

schiff deep down knows this. because he knows the economics of mining costs affect on bottom line value/support

And while he speaks among the loudest, he's certainly not in the minority. Think it was a year or two ago one of his heirs reported to have Bitcoin. So while he pretends, he knows and has made sure his family doesn't miss out. Might even have it himself, but his brand and all the parties he holds sway over simply means he isn't able to backtrack.

Bitcoiners must Bitcoin. Nocoiners must nocoin.

Right, adding a comment on Norway. They now have 35 medals with 2 days ++ to go, reaching their target of 32 already. 15 gold too, 50% more than the next best (Germany). All to be expected, I guess? Am reading now that many countries and ROC actually build a strategy around getting just silver and bronze.

The Chairman of the International Olympic Committee raised the issue of limiting the minimum age of athletes allowed to participate in the Olympic Games.  After the story with the 15-year-old figure skater Valeeva, I think this is the right decision.  Such very young athletes should not participate for reasons of their still teenage psyche, which can be seriously disturbed by the stress of losing.

Well, to be fair, I've seen the stress and psyche of 20 year olds and they're not much better. I do agree there's a need for age category for youth too, though. Young talent needs to be protected, though even in professional sports, not all of them have an age minimum that's appropriate. Footballers playing senior games at 16 (the minimum I think in EPL) isn't very wise IMO.

Active forum members, don't forget to take part in Sportsbet.io promos like this one, for example, and you may win one of those too. Wink
This is something I lack a lot, and I should start considering it a lot as well. I know that it is not really uncommon for people to participate in these things willy nilly, but I always keep seeing that wagering requirement and I just feel a bit cold about it. Not because I won't wager that much anyway, but mainly because I get a fear of "what if I am only wagering to be able to participate in that" and look at my slip differently.

Um dude, save that cold feeling for beers.

That promo and all the prediction promos like that, of which I now see I have yet to add my picks in 4 (which I'll do today), are all free for Sportsbet.io forum users (or in the case of the pool, only for participating pool members, so okay, a small one-off fee at the start of season). Zero wagering requirements. And each of them has at least 2 prizes, the smallest of which is currently over $20 value. Not to mention the shirts and souvenirs. I've had jerseys, sweaters, a signed ball, and countless freebets.

This one was won from the UFC prediction contest last week:

No wagering, freebet, turned into over $120 in BTC.

Still active right now to predict, threads created by jeremypwr and notblox1:
5274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why a single bet is better than a multi bet. on: February 17, 2022, 05:48:51 PM
Thanks for the explanation, now I understand everything. By the way, in my language (Russian) another name for multi bets is used - Express. It probably means that one big bet consists of several wagons (bets) as a train.
As for the condition for the minimum odds of 1.5, in total for five bets this gives a coefficient of ~8. In fact, this is quite an adequate odds (not 200 and not 1000) and if you make several bets in one weekend, you can expect that at least one will win. I think this is a perfectly acceptable condition.

And thank you for your explanations. That's interesting to know. Do you guys have a separate term for system betting? Which is just combinations of same matches but different possible outcomes. For example 1x2 on GameA1 x GameB1 and GameA1 x GameB2. I actually don't know if a term exists for acca/parlay/multi in my local language -- looking it up, they've just picked the British term and translated (accumulator).

The 1.5 x 5 legs is actually pretty good yes, but because of the daily value, I find myself using it up as often as possible, as I said, adding legs from games I'm not even familiar with. Very good value for someone who knows what he's doing for sure.

Just maybe 2 months agao it looked that Barca will be far from CL spot, but things changed a bit. Same can happen with Atletico.

agree, at the moment, Betis is looking better than Barca and Atletico, but it is a long season
nevertheless, would like to see them in CL (Betis)

there is a Basque derby on weekend, but also we are playing against Barca, maybe we can pull something good from the match, but CDR is probably focus at the moment for Valencia, since we are pure middle of the table

And yet the bookies are consistently backing Barca and Atletico, while Sociedad is this week's underdog in their match too -- normally you see an odds swing in the EPL (to my observation) with teams like Arsenal, Leicester and Spurs regularly matched as underdogs based on form (Foxes and Spurs 13/1 to beat Liverpool and City respectively, that is absolutely unthinkable without looking at form to me). But I have yet to see teams like Barca and Atletico get odds worse than 4/1 this entire season -- which doesn't make sense if you think about form.

OTOH you can still get Celta close to 10/1 when in reality they're not that worse off in form than some of the top dogs. Past 7 games:
Atletico: 3W3L1D
Barca: 4W3D
Celta: 4W1L2D

Just wanted to share a freebet won last night, been a while since I made something out of the FJ freebets here, and of a curious note, it's ALWAYS champions league that gets me through here.

Something small, but sweet nevertheless as both were really tight games.

I don't know if Fortunejack will continue with UFC promotions for next events, this weekend is Walker vs Hill, but this would be nice as competition for Stake.

Aye, competition is always good, and I guess we're all playing at most of the books here so when they compete, we as players stand to gain Wink My favourite will always be the 4+1, I tend to not have a ready bankroll for the one-off promos, like the PSG-Real one that came on hours before the game!
5277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: February 17, 2022, 09:11:28 AM
That Liverpool win was great value, wasn't it ralle14? Happy to see I wasn't the only one to profit from it, those freebet wins make it oh so special too eh? I actually haven't hit any freebets using USDT, would feel weird to have actual Tether in my account, but am sure it's coming heh.

My Olympics freeroll betting is all caught up with 13 gold for Norway for 0.64 mbtc profit now. Actually can't wait for it to be over, I think there are 3 more days left including today, realising now it's not the best value at all for such low odds (1.11) but I guess the risk reward was never there to begin with, the promo essentially just made it a little worthwhile.

Kinda looking forward to Atletico and Real doing their job, I'd not like to see PSG and United in the quarters. It'll be tough with City there already heh.
5278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who’s who in the gambling subforum? on: February 17, 2022, 08:29:01 AM
Thanks for the mentions, ralle14 and Saint-loup, and to bbc.reporter for making this thread -- I might prefer a list of usernames, and precisely what it is that makes them an expert.

Also, if this is about expert gambling or at least tips, rather than sporting knowledge? I personally feel the distinction is important. I'm less of a knowledgeable person in say, African football, than in European, but I actually had a better season gambling-wise in the former, and even am familiar with which team would be the favourite on paper, yet be completely unfamiliar with the players or coaches or styles. This distinction is also important in this particular subforum -- anyone who's had the patience to scroll through some of the megathreads understands about half the shitposts there aren't from gamblers (a sweeping statement not backed by evidence I admit).

To comment on Saint-loup about suggestion of player lists also, I think a great idea. My list would be absolutely about gambling and less about sports (technical) knowledge, and as such, and this is not exhaustive, top off my head, and absolutely personalised to myself =). If I had to make a proper list, it'd be much longer, but I thought rather than name everyone I think knows a thing or two about gambling, why not just put the guys I actually do take or have taken hints from?

These guys are all, also, high rollers. Serious money where their mouths are, so to speak, if they don't mind me saying so!:

Yup, there we go. Atletico losing, and after all this talk about them being weirdly different, they reverted, at home, to Levante, to defensive tactics that saw them get just the one shot on goal... while forgetting to fix defence and could have been worse if Oblak didn't save so many.

Anyway, disappointment, but hope Liverpool helps me purge this.
