Even before the match between Croatia and Serbia, it was known that the first match between Gojo and Lajovic would be crucial for the victory.
It was already known in advance that the Serbs have little chance in doubles and that Cilic also has very little chance in the match against Djokovic.
If I'm not mistaken, the coaches decide who will play in which match - and then why didn't Dokovic play in the first match and secure the first point, and Cilic would probably lose to any Serbian player in this form - doubles would not matter. The Serbian underestimation of Borna Gojo and the tactics for Dokovic to beat Cilic and thus take Serbia to the finals hit them in the head just as they had not hoped. Does not work like that. First player in one team plays first player in the other team always. No way to avoid Djokovic - Čilić match by that rules. I am not 100% sure but I think those first/second players position gets auto assigned after team nominates players for each match. Even if Troicki could have chosen the other combination I am sure he would opt for Djoko - Čilić match every time. Čilić is actually not playing that bad, just has bad fortune that he has to play against players in top form and not important matches. Sinner and Djokovic are arguably top 5 of indoors tennis at the moment. Only Medvedev and Zverev can best them in these conditions on regular basis. |

It will be exactly the same situation against Russia. Cilic will lose to Medvedev for sure but I am hoping Gojo will be able to surprise another top player in Rublev. Rublev is much better player of course but I feel like Gojo has a chance here. He is very disciplined, plays important points well and gets better towards the ends of sets. Those are exactly the situations when Rublev breaks apart sometimes. If this match gets to towards the end of sets without breaks I am thinking Gojo has good chance. Rublev is not stable player and he will gift something when it gets though. It also helps when he knows he must win, since doubles should be ours. Facing Real Sociedad is not a big enough match for Real Madrid even though Sociedad's position is currently in 3rd place
For this week, Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid can be said as the biggest match. Have you checked the schedule? Although Real Sociedad isn't a top club in La Liga, they can perform very well in this season. I don't think it will be a very easy match for Real Madrid, Real Sociedad must struggle all out to get points in this match. Especially they play in their home and they know it is a crucial match. It is a good match for sure but Socieded is sort of basing their success on low scoring games so I am thinking they will try to limit Real Madrid game and we could end up disappointed with the match. My eyes will be turned towards Barcelona - Betis. Betis is playing really good football and I am expecting them to come firing on all cylinders and causing all sorts of problems for Barca. This should be best game of the week for me. My bet will be on both to score since I expect open game and bookies are making Barca big favorite but I think Betis has a good chance for point all 3 here. Especially considering Barca is playing Bayern away in couple of days for Champions League spot in knockout rounds. |

Damn, this IEM tournament is hard to get correct. I lost all my initial bets and decided to mix it up a little and go against my gut since it is obviously not tuned to CS. My gut was telling me NIP and BIG should win so I placed a bet on their opponents to take at least a map for high stake and ML for low stake. One map is in the pocket on both matches so it already proved profitable and I got at least some money back to replenish my bank.
I think I will skip rest of the tournament or go against the favorites all to the end.

I was just saying a week or two ago actually that Europa League would be not bad for us to play in, to train our youngsters and give us more time to develop. The prize money isn't great but if we really cut all our wage bills, we should be able to manage. I mean even United was there last few seasons too so that's not too bad. (I say this convincing myself lol) Odds on Barca are around @1.5, that is big underestimation of Betis if you as me. My bet goes on Betis to score for sure if I get good odds on that and both to score, maybe even some x2. Big difference between United and Barca is that United has money and plays in Premier League which gives them even more money on TV rights and other sponsorships. Barca is in debt and they need that Champions League cash to start turning things around. Europa league is basically a death sentence in this situation. I am thinking CL spot is first priority for Barca this season. Bayern is secure on first position so maybe they will go easy on Barca? I doubt it, but we can hope. |

You guys are basically "spoiled" for watching premier league all the time or just being fan of a club there (or even maybe live in England I suppose). Not really "spoiled" in a bad sense, in a very good sense. Imagine living in a third world country where the football is at a level where the team who dominates the league here would not be able to stay away from relegation at championship stage let alone premier league.
Our best team is probably somewhere around league 1 level and not even championship level, or maybe it could be championship level but definitely somewhere at bottom half. So when you are watching a team like Newcastle or Norwich or Burnley, you are actually watching a "great" team, just not great compared to other premier league teams so it looks like they are playing badly but in reality those teams would be easily champions in our league, probably "near" undefeated as well.
Where are you from dude? Football can be watched all around the world, it’s OK for you to pick a foreign team to support. The biggest clubs in the PL wouldn’t be so big if they only had local support. Exactly, that is the benefit of globalization. Provided you have a fast internet connection you can watch premium football anywhere. There is so many services and streams, both free and paid, that we are really spoiled for choice. I rarely watch our local league (Croatian) even though it is way better and more interesting than "ever" since it still can't compete with Premier League and Champions League millions and qoulity. |

I think we all see this going to a Serbia v Russia final ...
I don't know what is the hype about Serbia. Yes they have a guaranteed point in Djoković but we also have a guaranteed point in doubles with Mektić/Pavić. Gojo is way down the ranking when compared to Krajinović but this is Davis cup and that is something different. Gojo already proved he is getting better and better as the stakes rise higher and he won both matches in Davis cup so far, one of them was against Sonego who is much better than Krajinović. Krajinović has lost all his Davis cup matches without getting a set. My bet is on Croatia @4.2 since I see this match as max 60:40 in favor of Serbia and that has lots of value for me. Russia is my first favorite from the begging and I expect them to take the title. |

At least I'm not alone, bro . I really hope you were not hit as bad as me. This was really a series of misfortune events for me. Lazio lost the lead in 99th minute and killed 3 otherwise winning tickets for me. About 0.08BTC in total. Rant on. That one other game that is not green is won but has not been graded yet.  First I wanted to use insurance and waited to play the ticket. First game was starting at 12:00 and I knew I am getting insurance at 11:58, of course I did not click on that square and I can't cash out since there is eSport on ticket. Later on Lazio leads 4:3 and I want to defend the tickets and can't since that is the precise moment when my otherwise very reliable mobile network provider decided to have problems. Are you guys watching Lazio - Udinese? I doubt it since United - Arsenal are playing but this game more than deserves it. We have everything from hot Italian blood to lots of goals and some of them were really master pieces, especially one from Milnkovic-Savic. Lazio came back from 2:0 and 3:1 in record time to 3:3 and then Patric got very stupid second yellow / red card. Don't know what to expect till the end here.

Anyway, I don't normally get too excited about Liverpool's chances at Christmas time due to the amount of times we've been there, and slipped up. However, I feel like this team is showing us similar energy to when we won it. We're looking incredible in attack, and only a little bit shaky in defense. I'm normally always fairly confident about our chances, but usually quite quiet about it. This year I just feel like its our.....year.
I think Manchester City aren't on the same level currently as us, and Chelsea, and Chelsea have definitely shown fragility as of recent games.
Liverpool looks best at the moment but I feel they will be hit hardest with congested schedule and than African Cup of Nations. Both Chelsea and City have longer benches (arguably) and will not loose top players to African Cup. If Liverpool survives this period without falling behind they will be first favorites for title. Chelsea had big problems with injuries. They were playing long time without Lukaku, their only real striker, and Kovačić who looked really good in the middle. Added to that they had a lot of injuries in defense, first Azpi, now Chilwell and James. |

Ajax is a no go for me against weak teams this season. They are 3 times better squad than anybody else in Eredivisie and they act like that. They beat PSV 4 or 5 to zero and then they play 0:0 against some bottom of the league team. I take them exclusively when the odds on them are good or in Champions League. Served me well so far. In general I never play odds lower then 1.5, I feel like there is no value in them. I make an exception here and there, like Liverpool @1.45 yesterday or a tennis match here and there. |
