5281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed[Bittrex/Poloniex]GPU Released on: September 06, 2014, 10:39:26 PM

Was reading last pages in rpietila alt coin observer.

This is sad to see two-faced people who ask for help when they in troubles and spread slander and lie when troubles is over. This behavior expose their moral standards.

I doubt that i'll ever again will care for helping.

Was looking through the last 2 pages, but couldn't see a developer posting about you or BBR. Which posts are you referring to?

It was a few pages back. It was some people talking about the rethink-your-strategy allegations. I commented as well and apparently caused offense, but I said there and I'll say here that we don't know the truth of those allegations or the larger context. So it is all speculation and should not be taken too seriously.

We should ask adamstgBit to start a new thread  Tongue

Cryptonote Conspiracy Observer?

Anonymint is one of a kind.  In so many ways.

God bless.
5285  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: September 06, 2014, 12:42:29 AM

So, if 2011 is any indication, we'll see another painful capitulation soon enough, then about a year of at best weak price increase, ending in about 600/700 if we're lucky.

But maybe GABI and COIN will save us! Because as everyone knows, HNIs love to throw funds into a downtrend.

5286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed[Bittrex/Poloniex]GPU Released on: September 05, 2014, 09:42:27 PM
I renounce personal attacks and baseless FUD.

But you should realize that is why drawingthemoon was created... because this type of stuff was all too present in Monero's community.

Well I appreciate your position.  But whoever drawingthemoon (lewis?) is he is damaging the BBR brand and driving away people who are honestly interested in the coin.  I am not rpietilla or aminorex.  I have respect for those guys but I don't care whether or not they endorse BBR.  I have considered it to be a good sister investment and/or hedge.

Some of the CN stuff revealed by rethink-your-strategy and its possible relation to BBR (not saying anything one way or the other) shook me some, and when it began to rise in price, influenced by some of that info (read: some fear), I sold off my coins for a nice profit.  It kept going up and I made some lucky trades in and out of the swings (I'd have made 2x as much by just holding and selling around 10xxxx admittedly, but profit is profit).  Having rethought my position on the coin I have reestablished a position.  For a moment I held equal numbers of it and XMR, but the constant bickering and trolling has just put such a bad taste in my mouth that I am more comfortable with a hedge position for now (~10% of XMR holding size).  It just makes me feel like there is something dirty going on somewhere and I feel safer with XMR than BBR because of it.

That's honestly who I am, and what I have done BBR trading wise.  I am being honest and transparent.

I think drawing the moon is a fucking moron, an embarrassment to this community, and people like him posting here and in the XMR thread make BBR look bad.  I say this fully knowing one reason I feel this way is he is attacking ME PERSONALLY for some reason, and I am not even claiming XMR does not also have trolls and idiots involved in their community.

Take it for what it's worth.

I am unwatching this thread, and will resist posting here. So I guess drawinghtemoon gets his wish?  Fucking retarded cabbage of a child.  It irritates me he was successful at getting under my skin.

I will most likely continue to hold some BBR, and I honestly with the project the best of luck.

Would like to start a marketing committee for BBR. PM me if interested or post in this thread. Its time that BBR had a real long term promotional strategy.  Thats all it lacks at the moment, imo.
count me in

Great Smiley

Will the marketing campaign avoid the sort of abusive garbage as being posted about me by the above sock puppet drawingthemoon?

Will you renounce it?

I find it very irritating that the community of a project I support continues to turn a blind eye to this retarded garbage.

Is this who the BBR community is?

Why not run Windows VM with 30 days old blockchain, run Linux VM with up to date blockchain, block everything on firewall on Windows VM except Linux VM, then set up Linux VM as primary node on Windows VM. Sync safely.

Wow.  I might do this just for the fun of it. Wink

I imagine for most just syncing the outdated chain will take less time.  Some places in the world it's lunchtime.  Perfect for letting the computer crunch along. Wink

Snip.......

Seriously STOP POSTING THAT LINK.

Corrected that for you......

Didn't need to as I mangled it.  One of the ones someone keeps posting is also my mangled version. Wink

Seems people have many troubles with downloading blockchain. Still can't understand why devs won't upload blockchain to mega as a mirror. I'll never download blockchain from untrusted source these days and ever.

The trouble isn't with downloading it, that works just fine. The trouble is with us updating the Windows download to a non-forked one, which necessitates us first finishing off this block-pinning code.

Why is the op blockchain over a month old? The post says its kept current, but its not. I still had to sync 12 days when i download for the 8.8.2 upgrade after the last attack.

On an average connection getting through 12 days should not take long at all.
5291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 05, 2014, 04:20:30 PM

Downloaded it, and Monero tells me "Can't load blockchain storage from file". I guess it's not legit. Might have been created with an older version, or a pre-rc1 version of the .NET GUI?

DO NOT DOWNLOAD BLOCKCHAINS VIA TORRENT FILES POSTED BY RANDOM USERS HERE.

Only download the files from the OP.

Can everybody please stop trolling/promoting trolling?

The BBR threads should stay focused on BBR progress - the XMR on XMR!

We need to raise the level (bar? not sure for the term) here guys, else no one will take us seriously...

(I also own XMR but my help is not needed that much if at all there because very competent and serious people are actively involved).

Now can we discuss on how to develop some nice ecosystem around BBR?

I wish they would listen to you.  Today's posts are paranoid and obsessive.  I have this thread bookmarked so I can follow BBRs progress.  Today I have read 3 pages of posts so far and all of them but 3 or 4 are people discussing some sort of hare brained conspiracy with "whales and snake oil salesmen" involving XMR and the poloniex trollbox.  I have been included amongst the snake oil salesmen. lol. I have been teetering on the edge of the strategy of holding equal numbers of XMR and BBR and have as of today reduced my overall stake in BBR back to a smaller hedge level.  Where last night it was equal to my XMR stake. This is not entirely because of the insane trolling but it HAS had a part to play.

I still own BBR and will still try to follow it, but frankly the signal to noise ratio here is overwhelming.

It's "raise the bar" by the way.  But "raise the level" works too.

Either would work to elevate the conversation here.

Not surprising XMR gets attacked and will continue to be a target with such vitriol towards their own father, that made their birth possible.. constantly referring to them as scamdevs and acting as if XMR is the immaculate conception

That sort of sounds like a threat.

That's why I asked whether or not they had specific knowledge .. the wording is familiar.

Seriously wish somebody accidentally flipped a switch to make IP's show up for a day all across the forums.  And some archival website was able to take a snapshot.  Insanity would ensue

Those IP addresses are all there...  The mods can see them. Wink  Of course there's tor.

Well, Peter Todd was right.  It's politically incorrect, but he's not known for tact and charm.  He's known for creative technical solutions.

And frankly, if IBM were doing its accounting with crayons and monkeys, and you didn't inform the stakeholders, you'd be very irresponsible.

His assessment of CN code is correct imho.  It's a mess.  Shouting "Cryptonote code is terribad" on twitter is extremely foolish.

(Edited to remove funny, put possibly insulting last line)
5299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: September 04, 2014, 04:34:58 PM
I don't know who Peter Todd is but if he was HIRED to be a consultant for Monero it is really really unprofessional for him to be publicly defaming the code on twitter before privately giving his input to the devs. In the corporate world if say IBM were having some issues with their books and hired an outside accounting firm to come audit and straighten things out, then said firm went on twitter and publicly went "Hoo Boy! It's amazing IBM functions at all considering they basically use monkeys with crayons to do their accounting!" That would not fly and would immediately tank the price of the stock. When people have money on the line, why would this guy be publicly slandering the code when he has been hired as a consultant???

I agree with this position.  I am disappointed at that display.  I think it can be said, but this was a bad way to do it.

Everybody knows that Dingleberry (BBR) is crap.

Stop it.

Yes, please.

Trolls are gonna troll.  But if you are just a supporter who favors one coin.  STAY OUT of their game.
