I think the number of altcoins affect the market somehow negatively. Most of these coins are useless and were created only for pump and dump purposes. It means investors lose money by investing on these altcoins that are largely promoted on social medias to newbies. Situations like this give a bad impression to investors who will avoid crypto market futurely, especially those people who were recently reffered to crypto universe and don't understand it with expertise.

I believe there is no way to win a conflict against these whales because they are protected by the judiciary power, which also rules the country and protect the government, since they are benefited by politics. Yes, it's possible to live without bitcoin, especially for few moments like a weekend, vacation or holiday, but if we think about all the years of our lives without btc it will be really painful to imagine we couldn't have access to it, because bitcoin already fulfils an important part of our daily routine, that are the personal finances, indispensable to live in a capitalist world, which allows us to have access to more confort and life quality.
I believe to live without such confort and welfare couldn't even be considered to live, but just to survive and in very precarious situations, similar to a lifetime camping as you said, where food, water are scarce and another resources inexistent.
