5281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥶 Winter Beijin 2022 🥶 Discussion and bet thread 🥶 Winter Game 🥶 on: February 16, 2022, 01:44:21 PM
And for Russian athletes this is not the first time. By the way Russia is banned for a few years from international competitions. Only the Russian Olympic Committee is participating in the Olympic Games, not being classified as representing the country.

If all this is confirmed, even the Russian Olympic Committee will run the risk of being banned. I hope you check this out soon, for the sporting truth.

I've bee so far behind following the news I didn't even realise there's an ongoing scandal with Russian athletes and dope again. Reading now the courts ruled she could continue to compete nevertheless but seriously, she's 15 and already taking performance drugs? I thought this free-for-all steroid culture died firmly in the 1990s. Guess I'm really out of touch.

P.S. I'm so behind I actually thought for days ROC was Republic of China.

P.P.S. Tried my best watching some events but Winter sports is really a bit dry for me.
5282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: February 16, 2022, 11:09:59 AM
Halab got the spot on result, but most of us have to thank Mbappe for never giving up, I have to say this was a big waste for Real Madrid to play Benzema and risk him getting even more injured when they couldn't give him the service he deserves.

Not sure to be happy Real lost and looks like they can't progress or to be sad that Messi had a poor game (by his standards).

City thrashing Sporting, no big surprise we all scored 1 point. Anybody who even got a Close score would have been amazing.
Why do you say Real can't progress? Minimal loss away from home is not a bad result. PSG is famous for strange second games. Just remember their encounters with Barca in last couple of seasons. It will be a very different game in second leg.

City proved their dominance and difference in quality. This one is more than over.

Yeah, I took a bet on Real, couldn't resist. And if they're also 4/1 at home, it's a bet I take any day. I always believe that experience counts in Champions League and no one knows how to play it better than Real. I might even fancy a Modric goal if the odds are right. He wasn't very adventurous in Paris but he tends to get some freekick sniffs and he's long due one.

I actually played 2 ways parlay with Liverpool tonight, so at least I was left alive too as I was honestly thinking it'd end up nil-nil. Mbappe was troublesome all night long but I felt like he tried to bring Messi into the fold a lot, should have taken on more shots or drove into the box.

City had the easiest tie of all, no disrespect to Sporting but they're the lowest performers in almost every attribute among the last 16. Still, credit to City, I guessed 3-0 and still got same points as everyone!
5283  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-02-10] CNBC: Binance is taking a $200 million stake in Forbes on: February 16, 2022, 09:53:31 AM
DaveF: Yeah, Forbes doesn't carry the reputation it may once have had (I actually don't know how good it was as a brand but even as a kid we'd be sold headlines about the Forbes rich list). Even before the last 2017 rally I'd come across cringey headlines in Forbes -- not to mention the ICO PRs flooding my RSS feeds. They're definitely a pay-to-play moneyspinner for their owners.

Be nice to be a fly on the wall, seeing the reaction of editors of the various online publications owned by Forbes, when they might have charged Binance a few hundred dollars a pop for a PR in the past.

Guess Binance doesn't mind buying brands with reputational baggage. CMC, now Forbes.
5284  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Proton-mail is using BIP39 for its recovery phrase! on: February 16, 2022, 08:21:11 AM
That's a nice find, wonder how I missed that -- I actually use a different mail service but this is something else to consider, given how many of us are now used to the recovery phrase (thanks Bitcoin).

I guess that Bitcoin love certainly goes well with Switzerland's privacy laws =)
5285  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: February 16, 2022, 07:56:28 AM
Hey FJ/Tornike, just wanted to say in public how I appreciate you going out of your way to personally help me with my issue. Whatever the outcome, I think you've already done me a service above and beyond what was required.

Best wishes for FJ! That boost on 4.40 boost on Real Madrid yesterday was so hot every bet I made was rejected -- good thing too, as then I gave up and switched to PSG, parlayed with Liverpool tonight, so I essentially hedged my bet elsewhere already lost Smiley

Why betting against Adesanya in middleweight division?
Nobody can beat him unless maybe some of Khabib students or cousins, I think he would have a lot of problems with their style of fighting.
I think I saw Khamzat Chimaev saying he can beat Adesanya, but first he needs to get up one division from welterweight.

Because I'm not a very smart person... I tend to bet blind in sports I know nothing about (plus in fact, one of my very first UFC bets was on Adesanya against Blachowitz and he was a huge favourite too). Odds just make me go crazy man, oh and probably a little because of his press statements. They ended up winding me up to go bet against him haha!
5286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: February 15, 2022, 08:51:13 PM
City goal spree any fun? I'm watching the game in Paris, a bit disappointing if you ignore Mbappe's been the only one really creating threatening chances. Messi hasn't really sprung any magic as of yet, though he attempted two (blocked) shots, and then some simmering tempers with Casemiro but feel like neither keeper's really had any scares yet except the one save from Courtois.

Least it's not the lousy looking United game (stat wise).
5287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why a single bet is better than a multi bet. on: February 15, 2022, 04:24:25 PM
What does accas mean? Abbreviation from the accumulated bets?
I don't have a Fortune Jack account, so I want to clarify - do they give cashback only on the occasion of a loss? It seems to me (although it’s probably worth making accurate calculations) that sportsbet conditions are better (bonus + boost + free insurance).

Sorry, yes, accumulator = acca = parlay = multibet. I'm not sure on the exact origins but my very first experience on sports was using UK books, they always used accumulator or acca for short. Then my first crypto books were North American and I noticed they used parlays. I think multi is a lot more popular these days but I actually only started seeing the term in the past few years. I could be wrong =) I probably still think "acca" or "parlay" a lot, but I suspect multi is a better term to avoid British and US ambiguations!

FJ does a regular "4+1" so you would need to bet 4 accas on UCL and the big leagues, NFL, NBA (to my memory) so that's all the big leagues covered anyway, and then you'd get a freebet back, based on the average amount of your past 4 accas. Essentially, a 25% cashback as a freebet, which is better than a lossback (which tends to be lower). Sorry for not being more descriptive. It's not active now but every season it comes by at least twice -- again, memory! Accas do need to have 1.3 min odds per leg, but that's easy.

Sportsbet does seem better yes, and every leg tacked on to the 5 gives you an additional boost... up to 100% boost on 10 legs maybe? But I think you lose out on the insurance advantage, and it has a 1.5 min odds per leg too, making your options a bit narrower.
5288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are spectacular returns over for bitcoin? on: February 15, 2022, 03:16:30 PM
Hey OP, didn't see this earlier I think, and hadn't taken you for an S&P vet -- though am not surprised given the quality of your contributions and comments.

I went through this phase actually even in 2020 -- I'd always held that the rally was coming and when it did, was only strengthened in my belief that the super cycles are over. Last year only cemented that belief -- even when 100k was still in play, it represented a "mere" 5x of the previous ATH, and the market thus far already to me invalidates the 12-month odd rally phase that many (including myself) had been expecting.

Doesn't change my decided stance with Bitcoin. It's the price of maturity. And it's a fair price.
5289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why a single bet is better than a multi bet. on: February 15, 2022, 02:45:27 PM
I know there's a lot of analysis already but I just want to add something since I consider myself a connoisseur of extreme singles haha.

1. Yes, the value is far, far higher in a single bet. Today, Real Madrid was as high as 4.40 on FortuneJack, and you can still get over 4.05 on Sportsbet with a Super Boost (they give out 2 or 3 a day on selected matched). You squeeze even more out on P2P markets -- I have Sporting Lisbon at 12.34 on Fairlay, it's about 10/1 elsewhere. So if you like playing underdogs, you squeeze out easily 10-20% value from one win.

2. You can get very good value with accas too, though, but only if you select price boosts or add in value from other promotions. FortuneJack has a regular 25% cashback on 4-legged accas, for example. I don't mind stringing together 4 legs over 2 or 3 weeks just for the 25% cashback, and I see very good value in this. Sportsbet has a running 5-leg boost+free insurance, it's pretty much 10% or more of a price boost PLUS the bet back if you lose one leg.

So in summary: in general I'd definitely say singles are better but only if the odds you get are significantly better than the mean. But promos on accas are not to be sniffed at.
5290  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Superbowl- Multi Master is back!! 🚀🚀 on: February 15, 2022, 01:32:29 PM
got the 2x freebets, thx Steve!  will save them for the Champions League and Europa League, huge games this week

Btw, did anyone win one of those specials Super Bowl bets?  what was the color of the gatorade? did The Next Episode play first? how many songs at HT? over 9.5? MVP winner, who did he thank first? family? god? teammates? i'm curious  Grin

I missed out. I knew I should have said teammates first but I thought he might go for god haha. Also, 3rd quarter tied with 2nd on 13 points, or I'd have bagged a nice 6/1 win.

Guy who bet 2 BTC just got back over 1 BTC in winnings. Oh man Smiley

P.S. Tried the Valentine's day promo for a bit of something different. Played Blackjack to try win the 1 mbtc bonus (Ace and Q of hearts), wagered around 16 mbtc to take a peek at the freespins bonus -- a great run of free double downs and splits on Evolution ended up with a few mbtc winnings, and even the freespins gave me 0.5 mbtc, beginner's luck on Monday!

I noticed that I can login now using Metamask account but after trying to login using my Metamask app I received this message
(errors.Unsupported chain id: 56. Supported chain ids are: 1,3.) may I ask what does it mean? should I change the it to Ethereum Network? It was in BSC network as of now.

Yes, change your network to Ethereum, as that's the only chain supported on Sportsbet now for ETH, USDT, etc (I got the same message when trying with BSC).
5291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: February 15, 2022, 12:24:12 PM
I don't know why bookmakers make PSG the clear favourite with the odds difference almost double - PSG (2.0) / Real (3.7)... It seems to me that the chances are the same here tonight, or it could be a draw! I'd bet on both teams to score.

There are many reasons to consider PSG as favorites in this match. First, it's PSG's home match. Home PSG strong. They have won 11 of Ligue 1's 12 home matches and drawn one. They did not lose any match at home. They have won all three of their Champions League home matches.
Secondly, when we compare the squads of these two teams, PSG is undoubtedly strong. They are a team with lots of star players.
Thirdly, Real Madrid's recent form is not very good now. They have lost points in a few matches in La Liga.
Fourth, Real Madrid key player Benzema is injured.

Well, this is payback I guess. PSG were shitty underdogs against City in both legs (I happily won one of those).

Sportsbet super boost gets you Real at 4/1 so I'm definitely seeing great value in that one. It all boils down to Benzema, unfortunately, and he's not a given in this game, even if I know he'll do his best to show up, hence the PSG leanings.

I watched them Parisians play in the last two games though, and they looked vulnerable and honestly dull against lesser opposition. My only ticket so far then.

5292  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: February 15, 2022, 08:22:17 AM
I made one bet on latest UFC main event for this weekend because Fortunejack had nice moneyback promotion, in case my selection loses fight early.
It was not easy win for Adesanya but he was never in danger of being knocked down or something like that.

I didn't do very well at all on that side of the pond. Lost everything I had on UFC, funny thing is I resolved not to do a single thing about it, and then at the latest I ended up going against Adesanya. Same terrible luck on Superbowl, not a single winning ticket. Of course, this was offset in a very big way of course by winning a freebet promo on the forum, and a nice fat payout in European football.

Just reading also and realise I haven't done my MajSev picks in a while. Put mine right in now for MD 26!
5293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 14, 2022, 09:46:47 PM
Can we hear a shout out for La Liga? I don't know what possessed me to watch this match, other than that there was nothing else on telly, but this was gripping from start to finish, the away team had to fight every inch to try and snatch points from being down 0-2. Bilbao Mallorca has one hell of a Korean in their attack, but I think they actually deserved this last-gasp win. Not pretty, but very positive play.
5294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: February 14, 2022, 05:11:56 PM
Alot of crypto influenced ads were played during the game but the half time show was the real success for the crowd who witnessed it live.
With all the big names on hand and a surprise appearance by 50 cent which wasn't announced to perform.

Is there a place to see which crypto ads actually appeared? I don't mind watching some of these US ads -- they tend to be funny. Not as crazy or memorable as Thai ads, which are downright wacko, but not bad anyway.

It would've been sick if those odds actually hit.  Grin

Next season I'm going for another 5 outright, this time though I'm going to put in ONE team with odds over 100. Anyway, finally saw all my outright settle yesterday. Been having 5 bets yet to settle cluttering my "My Bets" page -- nice they also gave me an instant Clubhouse boost haha.

See you at 58th everyone.
5295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia's approval of BTC on: February 14, 2022, 12:26:34 PM
Yeah I don't think it's about old glories.
He needs to show the masses something.
You claim you're the richest country, a  superpower, bla bla bla, and you have a lower wage than Bulgaria, you're losing millions as poeple flee from the country, you claimed to be in control of the virus but a million has died from it, the ruble is going down the drain and there is no change in people's life. He must show them something. Just like the Crimea Bridge, they've built that as a symbol, the rest of the country's infrastructure is a joke, but they need symbols, just like 80 years ago.

Yeah, and the number of people who actually like (love?) those symbols, a scant reminder of the scraps they thought they once had. The sun has long set on all these empires but they still gather around the embers, hoping to restore pride because they still think the rest of the world looks on in awe at caviar-laden halls of decadence. And all we see are vodka-infused dancing bear videos.

The lengths they go to for this theatre would only be amusing if it weren't tragic for millions.

The real question is can Europe survive sanctioning Russia. The way Europe is hooked up Russian energy if Putin suddenly decides to go on a cut off spree and if the conflict increases some more "incidents" to other suppliers like in Red Sea, Europe could easily see 80% of its imports vanish and face a widespread energy crisis.

Tell me about it... my gas bill's more than tripled in past couple of months. My provider folded back in November, so multi-year contract ripped up, and on new tariffs that's been absolutely painful. State here's in talks to approve tax rebates to help but I'm already doing my numbers and it's tough on me, but I have no idea how most people with single-income family members are going to pull through next winter (if not already this cold spring).
5296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia's approval of BTC on: February 14, 2022, 11:11:59 AM
Think the biggest sanction impact I can see right now is excluding Russia from SWIFT. It's problematic enough sending money to certain banks in the former Soviet nations -- I know as I always have to find the right bank there, but once SWIFT is gone, they're almost completely cut off.

What kind of revival of the glory of the former USSR through Putin's takeover of Ukraine? Now empires are not being revived by capturing the territories of neighboring states, and in general, on the blood of other peoples in the 21st century, trying to create a strong state will not work.

Yeah I don't think it's about old glories. Though there are always those segments in these countries, like Ukraine, who feel disenfranchised from the EU love affair and corrupt governments. They perhaps misguidedly yearn for the old days but more likely want to be on the "winning" side of the right oligarchs.

Guess it didn't go most of our way yesterday, but least Bengals didn't give up so easily, huh guys?

Meanwhile, happy Valentine's day. Sign up for this new 💕💞Mystery Hearts and Daily Valentine's day promo💞💕!

Opt in anyway if you're not playing, some of those seem really easy to hit but 15mbtc per heart is easy enough for the first bit, and then the second bit you just need to hit qualifying wins on Baccarat, Blackjack and Roulette.

On Olympics. Got all the freespins in from my 9 gold of Norway, over half of the events are already done, so we have 7 more days including today left to the Winter Olympics. Quite good coverage from the national channels and I've to say, some of the sports are hypnotic...

Grand total so far for me: 0.78 mbtc. Hope to see at least 5 more gold medals then in this case =D

Yeehaw! Wow, I didn't stay up to see this and didn't even realise it had hit but Barca really is something special aren't they? From stats it seems there were even 4 points from cards and goals just to drag us over the line!

Definitely paid off Liverpool bust by a single point. Who knew Traore would be a beast AND useful back home in Barcelona eh?

Awesome possum, looks like I got the Superbowl drops too and just in time as match about to start! Thanks Steve and Sportsbet!

Already mentioned my bet riding on a boosted handicap on Bengals (of course they're gonna win!) and then some tasty outright on highest-scoring quarter (1st and 3rd at 7/1 and 6/1).

I promised not to be too involved but hey, some other sports has to improve for me now that my football isn't doing so great.

Good luck and GO BENGALS!

2 BTC on Rams? Well, the all-stars probably know most of the money's on them tonight, but pretty sure them Americans love backing the underdog, so I also threw in some of my satoshi with Bengals, and even on a small handicap (-2.5) just to get it over 3/1, but holding off on other bets for now. Plenty of specials I don't see elsewhere.

Random line interesting to me is who the MVP thanks first. 18/10 is the lowest for teammates but God gets an outsider's chance at 6/1. Surely worth a punt? Image links directly to the specials!
