208 for 6 and de kock is still in the crease so reaching anywhere near 300 would be a fighting total from now on to RSA,hope they could play at least for entire today to achieve it and need much help from tails too.Its too early to say this match will be easy win for ENG because the pitch will remain same nearly for second day as well so same scenarios might happen to them as well.

With just 4 wickets in hand, do you really think that they can score another 90 plus runs? I don't think so. Sam Curran just got Dwaine Pretorius out and the tail has started for South Africa with the entry of Vernon Philander. Now I have to state here that the South African lower order is not considered very strong in batting (especially Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje). I guess they may end up with somewhere around 240-250.
5282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altseason Has Almost Arrived For Altcoins. on: December 26, 2019, 01:50:07 PM
What sort of altcoin season you are talking about? From what I can see, the Bitcoin dominance has remained constant at around 69%, and with the negative news coming from Ethereum (regarding ETH 2.0), it should further go up. I am not witnessing anything encouraging regarding the altcoins. Their adoption has gone down, irrespective of the domain and in most cases the development has slowed down as well.
5283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins getting delisted on: December 26, 2019, 01:41:40 PM
For me, this news is good. I think this trend of delisting any coin low performing will encourage good and potential coins. However, there maybe many reasons for an exchange to delist any particular coin. One of the main reasons is low performance and low volume. I support this idea of delisting low performing coins.

Now I don't want to comment whether it is a good thing or not. I don't know whether it is beneficial for the exchanges, because with less number of coins the traders may limit their number of transactions. This may have a negative impact on the exchange revenues. Also, what about those users who had invested in these coins? If they get delisted from the exchanges, then the users may get trapped with these useless cryptocurrencies. They shouldn't have invested in the first place, but now we can't punish them for taking a risky option.
5284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins not Growing These Days on: December 26, 2019, 01:29:43 PM
Everything is happening because of the huge BTC dominance. Look at the market, even if altcoin has a huge announcement like mainnet launch or new exchange listing, it does not influence its price at all when BTC is moving.

LOL.. seriously? Do you really think that the altcoins are going down because Bitcoin is poaching on the userbase / market cap? I though that the reverse scenario was true (altcoins leaching off users from Bitcoin). Anyway, let's assume that your claim is accurate. But in that case, the market capitalization of Bitcoin should be increasing, right? On the other hand, it has gone down from $350 billion to $130 billion during the last two years.
5285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Says Bear Market is BAD? on: December 26, 2019, 01:23:54 PM
What happening now with the tokens and smaller altcoins have nothing to do with the bear market. The investors have realized that the vast majority of them are shitcoins, without any future potential. As a result, majority of them are dumping their tokens and moving on to Bitcoin or Ethereum. This is different from an ordinary bear market, when the value of a particular asset goes down as a result of negative market conditions.
5286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiners in Hong Kong protests? on: December 26, 2019, 12:57:49 PM
Of course there are bitcoiners in Hong Kong, but I do not understand how you can help them in reality?

buy things from people in Hong Kong who are resisting the Chinese Communist Party. That undermines the bullying regime in the most powerful way, without resorting to violence.

This is one of the advantage with anonymous payment systems such as Bitcoin. It is possible to help the protesters in Hong Kong, without the knowledge of the Chinese authorities. The same thing happened in 2011, when Wikileaks started accepting donations in Bitcoin. But then, most of the Western governments were against the idea. One American agency even considered the possibility of launching a 51% attack against BTC.
5287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 26, 2019, 12:50:43 PM
They are retired for good and South Africa need to find the right balance, i saw some performance in the warm up game but that did not happen in this match and Quinton de Kock is still in the crease and they are trying to build a partnership now along with Pretorius and hope they can bat for a longer period of time.

They are inching closer to 200, with 5 wickets in hand. On his test debut, Dwaine Pretorius is giving good support to Quinton de Kock (the latter is having a strike rate of 93 now). Jofra Archer has gone for almost 5 runs per over and has failed to take any wickets. He had a really bad series against New Zealand (in two tests, he took 2 wickets after conceding 209 runs) and it looks like his bad form is continuing.
5288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 26, 2019, 12:33:07 PM
I think Dhoni have different game plans for this season because CSK bought only bowlers in the bidding action it seems to Dhoni understand the other teams strength and what CSK need exactly.

I am still not convinced, because I don't think that Piyush Chawla will get to play too many matches during the 2020 edition. The entire thing looked very suspicious for me, with Dinesh Karthik from the SRH and MS Dhoni of CSK going all out for him. Chawla's record during the previous editions of the league are very ordinary looking and splurging so much money on him was surprising.
5289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 26, 2019, 12:19:45 PM
Conducting a global tournament every 12 months is a bad idea, IMO. In combination with the other T20 tournaments and bilateral series, it will add to a flood of matches. In the end, these tournaments will lose whatever importance they have among the fans now and the revenues will decline. So in the end, it will have just the opposite effect. Rather than a global tournament, why can't they have local tournaments such as Asia Cup? But I guess in that case the revenues will flow in to the ACC rather than the ICC.
5290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 26, 2019, 12:12:05 PM
It was heartening to watch Steve Smith batting against a bowling attack comprised of world class bowlers such as Trent Boult at Melbourne. After a few below par scores against Pakistan, he seems to have regained form. On the other hand, New Zealand wasted such a great start. They got Joe Burns out in the first over, but then allowed the middle order batsmen to score runs freely.
5291  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-19] Heard of bitcoin's 'halving'? It's set to shake crypto markets ... on: December 25, 2019, 07:30:37 AM
@posi. I did not say a promising result is certain not to occur. I am only saying to prepare for disappointment because it might also occur similar to litecoin's halving.

What happened with Litecoin was unique. The exchange rates had went up quite a bit before the actual halving event. However, after the block reward occurred, there was a sharp correction in the prices. During the first half of 2019, the Litecoin prices went up from $30 per coin to around $135 per coin, and it was clear that this spike was unsustainable for long. I can't see a similar spike for Bitcoin, and therefore I assume that what happened with LTC will not repeat with BTC.
5292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Outclasses Other Cryptocurrencies as an Investment Option, Here’s Why on: December 25, 2019, 07:04:37 AM
The Bitcoin dominance in the market seems to be going up, once again. During the past few weeks, this parameter has increased from ~66% to 69% now. The only thing that worries me is that rather than due to its own merit, the dominance is going up due to the lack of interest in the other cryptocurrencies. Ethereum is down because the roll out of ETH 2.0 is delayed. LTC is down ever since the block reward halving. Some capital has moved from alts to BTC. But even after all that BTC is not looking very strong.

Not sure why everyone getting exciting about this Mini IPL, BCCI is not group of fools who likes to kick on dead horse when money is involved. Right now BCCI working on another project called " Super Series" (not Bilateral, not Trilateral but Quadrilateral series)

I shared the details HERE

The other boards are not very happy with this idea. There is an article in espncricnfo on this subject:

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/28364212/bcci-icc-disagreement-multi-team-tournaments-heart-super-series-proposal

The stance of ECB is not clear at this point of time, but from what I have heard, Cricket Australia is unlikely to offer much support for the BCCI. All the other cricket boards are against this idea, as it is believed that N Srinivasan is the mastermind behind this move. A full fledged conflict between the BCCI and the ICC may unravel at some point in 2020.
5294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins delist and Bitcoin only on: December 25, 2019, 06:11:36 AM
Back in 2017, we had less than 1,000 different altcoins and tokens and the number of active cryptocurrencies among them was only around 100 to 200. Two years later, this number has increased to more than 10,000. The problem is that the number of cryptocurrency users have not increased proportionately and as a result many of these smaller coins are nonviable. Many of them have died out and most of the remaining will continue to become dormant or dead during the next few years.
5295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Much WOW?!?! on: December 25, 2019, 05:59:37 AM
If there is a change to ethereum 2.0 in 2020, actually I'm really looking forward to it, I'm curious after that whether it will affect the price of ethereum in the market later. I am happy if it has a positive impact on prices. But before that happens, I want to try to save ethreum at a relatively cheap price right now, because if the price soars later, this can be profitable.

It is still not confirmed, but the indications are that the Ethereum 2.0 roll out is delayed and we may not witness it before 2022 (possibly much later). This was the last nail in the coffin of ETH, and now we can expect the Ether market share to go down even more. The number 2 position would have been in threat as well, but fortunately for them the other altcoins are in even worse shape right now.
5296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just earned my first 9$ in Bitcoin Cash, how can I grow it? on: December 25, 2019, 05:53:04 AM
When compared to some of the other altcoins, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has performed relatively better. So it may not be a bad idea to hold some of this coin in your wallets. But that said, $9 is too low in my opinion. Times have changed and we can no longer expect 100x or 1,000x returns, like what we had in 2012 and 2013. So it will be better to increase the holdings to at least $1,000.
5297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are investors pulling out of Libra? on: December 25, 2019, 05:36:31 AM
The body language of the Libra team suggests that they themselves are looking for an exit strategy. This has cast doubt on a number of their partners and it is not surprising to see many of them pulling out. Fist of all, Libra was not an ideologically driven project. The intention was not to introduce some technology that could work for the betterment of humanity. The sole purpose was to boost the stagnating profits of Facebook. Under such circumstances, I am not really surprised that Libra is failing to take off.
5298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Authorities Confiscating miners on: December 25, 2019, 05:28:45 AM
It is really irritating to see these clickbait articles. The Chinese authorities arrested a group of miners for power theft and the OP tweaked the title to give an impression that they got arrested for mining coins. I have seen dozens of threads claiming that the Chinese authorities are going to launch a crackdown on Bitcoin mining. I am seeing such threads ever since I joined this forum three years back. And till now, none of these threats have got realized.
5299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 25, 2019, 05:05:42 AM
Wonderful to know that because this mini IPL will help the BCCI to find out a more talented player. As of now, he is doing his job by shuffling the players in matches. Definitely Ganguly's aim is to bring younger talented cricketers and it will surely help the nations.
The BCCI has the money to conduct a tournament like that and make it a successful one and if they are creating a mini IPL and if there is a champions league for the franchise leagues then it will create interest in the cricket followers as the matches will be competitive and considering how the Champions league was not able to attract the visitors they were expecting and i am not sure whether they folded because of the low viewership and if the BCCI is able to conduct that then it might get the attention they are looking.

The so called champions league (not sure about the name) is going to be counter productive. There is a lot of franchise T20 cricket going on, and the viewer interest is declining due to the overkill. The average attendance per match is going down, even for established leagues such as the Big Bash League of Australia. And within a few months, the stats from IPL 2020 will confirm this.
5300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 25, 2019, 04:55:35 AM
This is  completely shit from BCB because now Sri Lankan team done very successful tour of Pakistan so they have to face reality and complete their commitment otherwise they are going to lost points and helping Pakistan for staying at no 3 for some time because I check PCB insisting they will not go to UAE for any series.
You cannot judge like that, if the Bangladesh players are worried about the security considering the past experience against cricket players who were attacked by terrorist and because of their luck they were lucky enough to escape without any fatal injury, it is hard to convince any other team to visit Pakistan just like that, let them conduct the PSL completely and gain the confidence of the other nations, life is important than a sport and hence i support the BCB decision.

This is like the pot calling the kettle black. Bangladesh has witnessed its fair share of terrorist attacks during the past few years and the ISIS has managed to build a local chapter in that country. The July 2016 Dhaka attack (Holey Artisan Bakery) left dozens of people dead. On the other hand, Pakistan has been largely free of major terror attacks during the past few years.
