I see a lot of talk about exploits but no one is addressing the elephant in the room, this coin has "random" block rewards.

You think best to move to fixed block rewards?

"Random" block rewards are not random and this fact is exploited by large miners so that they only mine high value blocks.  This is not a theoretical exploit this is a fact.  This is why even doge moved to fixed block rewards.

Yes, i did hear that before. In this case fixed rewards could be better.

Glad you have come to discus since i not many people are giving input on this part.

I notice doge did not block halve until 100k blocks.... this one is going to halve after 10k...i wonder if that will work out ok or if it is too fast.

The same 100k blocks in both cases.

oh yes you are correct weird though because the dodge halving seemed in time to take longer.

The miners that are selling this coin at prices below 10 Litoshi's are the ones that are destroying this coin. Why sell so cheap?
5302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BEE]BeeCoin - Launched/5 EXCHANGES on: March 19, 2014, 08:56:42 PM
there is some good news here.

I'm really ok for pos but 5% is so much i think, or only for few mounth? because if/when bee rise it's gonna be enormous but for start it's not so much...

I have my first bee game ready (not really but close to) but actually i haven't so much spare btc or usd or eur actually (i use both of them, and others), i'am in some bad days now. but i keep my rig on bee ( a little one: 1.4Mh).

I think bee is a really a good coin, but he need a good dev, a dev implicated in (is it the good way to say it?), so pos is a good thing.

I still support bee, actually my crypto portfolio is mostly in bee and like i said before my rig is on bee.

maybe i can put online my game soon, and maybe 2 others ( I work on them).

PS: please forgive my english, my corrector underline everything, that hurt my eyes so i can't focus.
PS2: instead of "implicated in" it's "involved in" or both are ok?

I think that total tax of 5% is VERY GOOD. There are too many coins out there, we need to attract and assist the dev if we want a profitable coin. This coin could still end up as a dead coin if we are not careful.

However, with publicity, giveaways, website, games, POS - in addition to ZERO PREMINE, fair launch, THIS COIN COULD SHAKE THE CRYPTO MARKET.
5303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BEE]BeeCoin - Launched/5 EXCHANGES on: March 19, 2014, 08:31:45 PM
This thread seems quiet. VERY FEW PEOPLE ARE ACTIVELY PROMOTING THIS COIN.

Keep voting for BEECOIN at MINTPAL.

Electric coin seems to be moving slower compared to other coins.
5307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BEE]BeeCoin - Launched/5 EXCHANGES on: March 18, 2014, 06:11:19 PM
yes i agree as soon as we get the coin design done with new source we will get all the wallets done that we need. Because a lot of people have mac too.

Then we do a BIG marketing campaign.

Before we do this though, we need to have some projects set up and give people reason not just to resell the coins we give them or else it does not really help the community.

Once the block tax is running we will also have funding for projects and things will start happening much more quickly.

Also we need soon to contact everyone on this thread that has mined beecoin. I think a lof people are still holding their bees because i see only 300M for sale, and 950M that people want to buy.

There seems not many bee's for sale compared to how many there are out there.

That's good, the coin needs to become SCARCE, so that the price can rise.
5308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BEE]BeeCoin - Launched/5 EXCHANGES on: March 18, 2014, 05:48:46 PM
... the best way to curb difficulty is using KGW and tweaking it for the best of BEE and as far as POS is more for the holders , what I suggest is first add KGW difficulty retarget formula tweaked for BEE and then later on when BEE goes BEEing we'd go ahead with POS
Also i did see some discussion that KGW has some security issues? aurora are worried about introducing it.
CGA coin has removed KGW from their code to avoid exploits...

Orbit has PoS already implemented, if you want to take a look at their code.
Only the Orbit dev (TheRedMist) is MIA, we have recently only seen support from a hired dev Ghostlander.

KGW has not been verified totally and is on theory and sandboxed operations and not tested on a real blockchain with 100 - 1000s of wallets and miners so yah , a network is secured by the number miners mining and the support of the end users thus it is what makes the network stronger to outside attacks , KGW is simply an algorithm to curb retarget issues and multipool attacks so even if exploited will not make any drastic impacts to the coin.

POS implementation is not an issue , it's just that we need to get the priorities straighted out and discussed with the tops in the community such as Cryptohunter and John since they are the one's who know's what the community needs.

PS: Orbitcoin became an entire mess sometime back.

Regards,
Soopy

If the exploit is possible then I wound't be so sure about this.
Looking at the thread BCX started , the exploit itself would lead to far more dangerous options for the attacker.

True any exploit gives dangerous options for the attacker but then again on the same thread someone challenged BCX to exploit Mazacoin but then it's yet to be tested on a real world scenario. Smiley

But I still doubt about the exploit and yet believe in the alogrithm, it's ultimatly the community's choice in embracing the same or not , thereby I'm not trying to push anything on to the community if they don't want it , just putting it all on the table , also the Kimoto Algorithm is widely used.

And while disecting and studying the algorithm I have not been able to find flaws with it though found many on other features.

~Soopy~

If you think it is best Soopy we got with whatever plan you think best. If you take over as dev on Beecoin that would be great and you will have full control regarding the coin.

I was just wondering? does Bee not already have KGW ?  It seems to have a very strong diff adjust every block.

If you think it is best for us to wait to have POS implemented then  that is what we will do.

I am very confident the network will grow rapidly once we decide on the coins plan and implement that, because we will start a very large marketing and givewaway campaign.

Will the 2% 2% 1% block taxes be easy to code in?

It would be great my friend if you can list out everything you and the community is looking to see implemented in a list here so everyone will know what they can expect.

I'm going to start working on the taxes tonight and most probably release a new client update within a couple of hours.

~Soopy~

Hi soopy ok great - here is the plan as far as i can speak.

1. we wish to secure the block chain as best we can -

a - If you think it is too early to go with POS then we could stick with POW and KGW and continue as we are now. If POS is a possibility in the future then i guess we have no need to change the block rewards. Since POS could be implemented before block reward turns undesirable by miners.

b- If you think starting POS now is a good idea then we leave it entirely to you to decide on what to do about the block rewards and POS rate. Because to remain at or around the 24Billion minting i have no real idea what would be the best way to do that right now - it is above my understanding of crypto - although we want to encourage people to leave wallets running and generating blocks. I think black coin which does this every 8 hours encourages you to have wallets open at all times. However since it's interest is compounded then inflation must grow rapidly as time progresses ... also does the block chain grow huge? ... Like i say i really find it hard to comprehend the full implications of different rats and staking periods of POS so i'm am 100% sure you would understand the best way to do this over any of us. So if you do think the POS route is a good idea right now... then we leave it to you to decide.

2. The Block tax - We would like it to have a 5% overall block tax per block - splitting to 3 wallets .

wallet 1 = 2% for the bee donations to green peace bee's or another big one
wallet 2 = 1% for the dev's payment for helping bee and technical advice/coding
wallet 3 = 2% for the development pot = used for projects and building services/ giveaways etc.

That would be great... if you need any further info just let me know i will be on my machine for  good few hours now.

thanks

Total coinage of 24 billion, I feel that the coin will do better if more people get involved before block reward halving.

We need to set up giveaway faucets all over the place (even if we are just giving away 100 - 200 BEES per person, once every 12 hours.
5309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BEE]BeeCoin - Launched/5 EXCHANGES on: March 18, 2014, 05:41:54 PM
How can we motivate people to start mining this coin?

Why are miners still dumping this coin for peanuts? Don't people read through this forum, or are people ignorant of this forum?
5310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BEE]BeeCoin - Launched/5 EXCHANGES on: March 17, 2014, 09:15:51 PM
Sorry guys my internet was down.

Working on the source will post an update in a few hours also an advice on POS and difficulty curbing , the best way to curb difficulty is using KGW and tweaking it for the best of BEE and as far as POS is more for the holders , what I suggest is first add KGW difficulty retarget formula tweaked for BEE and then later on when BEE goes BEEing we'd go ahead with POS for POS to effectively initiate we need a stronger network and also more community would mean more effectiveness , also about rewards what are your thoughts about it? and the MAX_MONEY.

Cheers!
Soopy

Hi soopy

thanks for very much for getting back to us

I think we have to keep max money the same? 24 billion or else some people may not like that if we change.

What right now does beecoin use for diff retarget ? it seems to have a very fast reacting retarget... is this not KGW?

Also i did see some discussion that KGW has some security issues? aurora are worried about introducing it.

Is the block tax idea possible too? I really like the idea of the 2% tax for the green peace bee fund and i very much like the idea of the development pot of 2% also. Personally i would vote for the dev pot being even higher so we actually have funds to create lots of new projects for beecoin. We really need to build some great things for beecoin, casinos , an exchange perhaps with its own bee market. Many things we need to do ... an android wallet. Also i feel the dev should have at the very least a 1% stake in the coin for the constant updating and fixing of things.  This is not like a premine where some devs just dump on exchange then make a new coin .... this is 1% for continued interest in the coin doing well and helping to develop the core if and when needed.

We need to not be short sighted about beecoin, not treat it as pump and dump like other coins. We should develop this coin into something long term and that has lots of on going projects happening.

I AGREE, a total of 5% tax isn't bad for a coin that is going to the moon.

Anybody got any pool recommendations for this?

I'm here for now http://bee.steadymining.com/
0.5% fee and stable Smiley

(But if the pool network hashrate drop down 12mh/s, solo mining will give you more profit)

I always like solo if i can. I mean pools are essential after a certain point but really at this dif solo is way more fun.

I understand now, PEOPLE ARE INVESTING IN OTHER COINS LIKE SPAINCOIN!.

IT IS GOOD THAT PEOPLE ARE NOW MINING BEECOIN.

I was able to remove all my bees from cryptorush, I suggest you do the same. The sites security isn't perfect, no e-mail confirmations before my withdrawal (this means that accounts could easily be hacked).

5314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BEE]BeeCoin - Launched/5 EXCHANGES on: March 16, 2014, 02:45:03 PM
BEECOIN IS STILL VERY PROFITABLE - WE HAVE MORE THAN 35,000 BLOCKS TO MINE, BEFORE BLOCK REWARD HALVING. this looks like more than 1 week of intense mining.

When soopy comes back then we should start a new thread for sure because this old OP has dead links on it and stuff.....looks pretty bad.

I will see if someone can make us a nice new logo and post here to see what you guys think...

I like the rainbow background really shows up nice when small.

Anyway i'll see what i can get someone to make for us. Also i heard someone say they are having someone work on a nice new website.... so that will be cool.

Once we have the coin design started and the website and all the appropriate wallets and things.... THEN we should do a BIG marketing campaign. I hope we get the 2% save the bee tax done before the halving.

It is a pity that I am not technically competent - I am just a trader. This is why I called soopy, because I found out that he is also working to improve another altcoin.

Have you been able to make withdrawals from cryptorush? I have not been able to.

THEN GO AND GET IT.

GET THEM AT CRYPTORUSH, NOW THAT THEY ARE CHEAP

I have tried to create a bit of humour within this thread. Beecoin is now selling for about 21 Litoshi's, though there are people who still want to buy this coin for peanuts.
5318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BEE]BeeCoin - Launched/5 EXCHANGES on: March 15, 2014, 09:23:03 PM
I TRIED MY BEST TO KEEP THE PRICE HIGH, THEY HAVE BOUGHT UP MY PRICE WALLS.

LOOK, SELLERS, STOP SELLING BEECOIN FOR PEANUTS

THAT 30 LITOSHI PRICE WALL COST ME A FEW LITECOINS TO MAINTAIN.

ANYWAY, I HAVE RATTLED THE MARKET A BIT, I HAVE ALTERED THE GRAPH.

Well good effort though, you must have a nice stash of bees now.

I bought a lot too actually, i am saving about 20M for a good giveaway and promotions once things are up and the promotion will have max effect.

I think giving people bees for free is silly, i will ask people work for bees. Smiley

LET PEOPLE BUY AT THE CURRENT BARGAIN, RANGING FROM 5 TO 35 LITOSHI'S.

I HAVE MADE HEAVY LOSSES BEFORE, ONLY MINTCOIN HELPED ME BREAK EVEN, BUT I SOLD OUT WAY TOO EARLY.

THIS GAME IS TOUGH, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE LIMITED RESOURCES.

THINGS ARE GOOD NOW, ESPECIALLY WITH RECENT DEVELOPMENTS, AND ALSO BECAUSE WE ARE APPROACHING BLOCK REWARD HALVING.

THE PRINCIPLES OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND SHOULD BEGIN TO WORK. I CAN'T IMAGINE MINERS DUMPING THIS COIN WHEN IT IS SCARCE, WHEN THE NETWORK HASHRATE IS A FEW GH/S OR WHEN THE DIFFICULTY INCREASES.

DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS TO CREATE A FAUCET, SO THAT THE AMOUNT RECEIVED IN A GIVEAWAY NEVER EXCEEDS 200 - 500 BEES PER PERSON? I MEAN, IF PEOPLE POOL ABOUT 100M BEES FOR A GIVEAWAY, WE HAVE TO MAKE IT LAST, BY GIVING OUT MINIMUM AMOUNTS AT A TIME.

A GIVEAWAY FAUCET IS NOT MEANT TO ENRICH MEMBERS, BUT IT IS MEANT TO CREATE AWARENESS ABOUT THE COIN.

Yes i agree but we don't want them just reselling, we want to build services and have some good plans and projects going so people see beecoin as an investment and also get involved with doing things.

I think 100M is a huge amount and a lot of good can come from giving it to people for actions taken to help beecoin.

This can be long term we don't need to hurry right now.

we need a good plan of action.

First part is solid coin design and block scaling we need to get that part perfect then build up from there.

100M BEES FOR A GIVEAWAY WAS JUST A RANDOM FIGURE - I WILL NEVER GIVE AWAY 100M BEES. 100M BEES COST ME 3 BITCOINS, BACK IN THE DAY.

I could donate 10m bees to the DEV team as my personal contribution. Other members should help too. I could also drop less than 1M BEES FOR A FAUCET THAT GIVES OUT 200 BEES PER PERSON.

NO RUSH ANYWAY, THIS IS A LONG TERM PROJECT.
5319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BEE]BeeCoin - Launched/5 EXCHANGES on: March 15, 2014, 09:12:52 PM
Wow, the price so amazing. a little sad, I used all my BTC to buy BEE at 2 Satoshi. So when it dropped to Latoshi's, I could only buy few million coins more. Hope other members in this board have bought enough Beecoin when it was cheap (Now, it's still cheap). waiting BEE to da moon Smiley

I USED ALL MY BITCOINS TO BUY BEE AT 3 SATOSHI'S. I AM NOT EVEN A MINER, BUT A MERE TRADER. ALL THE BEES THAT I BOUGHT ACTUALLY COST ME MONEY.
