Hi,

I've been following the Bitcoin100 quite some time now and somehow it feels like it lost inertia?

I'll stop you right there. This is 2012 and shit's about to get real.
5302  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitscalper anyone use this ? on: January 30, 2012, 08:49:12 AM
Not bad... get investors..  have matthew create a panic - everybody pulls out - they take their 1.75%
things calm down- people reinvest... and start from the beginning Smiley

Lol. Possible. However judging by the amount of PMs he tries to send me everyday telling me that he wants me to stop posting about bitscalper I can't believe your theory.  Cool
5303  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Bennefit From "Blind Quantum Computing" ? on: January 30, 2012, 08:31:59 AM
I'm no expert (although Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Physics are my hobby) but I'd say Quantum Computers are currently not feasible for anything more than adding 1+1, and the effort required for that is too much to even bother.

Mark me as a spammer, I dare you! If you delete this account after 200+ I won't come back, isn't wierd the geo tag of my ip is the same, I have access to all my email account and I have access to my forum account. What a bunch of cry babies I am inactive for a while then shortly after I come back ask for a ~5 dollar loan and everyone is like "STANGER DANGER STRANGER DANGER!" Riddle me this what kind of scammer makes a series of mundane posts before trying to pull off a 5 dollar scam?

A confidence man, mostly desperate and unoriginal, and more than likely a teenager unable to earn money on their own. Next question?

So I'm the only one that selected an avatar that looks like me already?

I can't see your avatar image. Do I need to have a certain post count in order to see it? Or perhaps pay for a higher membership ranking?

If this hasn't been posted before, there's a new Gawker article about Silk Road by Adrien Chen, the author of the previous one.

http://gawker.com/5879924/now-you-can-buy-guns-on-the-online-underground-marketplace

"Yesterday, Betabeat pointed out that Silk Road still exists..."

my face when betabeat gets all the credit and 72 upvotes for carbon copying my bitcoinmedia article and i got 10 upvotes on reddit :[

lame

Here's the original work http://bitcoinmedia.com/thank-you-schumer/

Bitcoin Media articles have been on Slashdot 3 times, and they have everytime linked the original article and mentioned the author's name. idk maybe I shouldn't care.

Unfortunately, this will continue so long as articles about bitcoin are only written on blogs, private websites, and forums. I truly believe the Bitcoin Magazine will change this. I dare BetaBeat to carbon-copy a Bitcoin Magazine article of yours like they do for bitcoinmedia.com's blogs. If anything, they'll quote the magazine.
5309  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Do you own a bitcoin business? If so... on: January 30, 2012, 07:07:03 AM
How much do you charge to design ads?

For the first issue, I am doing complimentary ads for our sponsoring advertisers. The second issue however we'll have to figure something out for pricing and availability and to encourage advertisers to get their designs done beforehand and submit to us. This is just a promotion right now to get more businesses and individuals involved.

Any idea what font that is?

I think it's called "EyeBurningOrangeOnOrange Sans"
5311  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any companies selling domains for BT? on: January 30, 2012, 01:28:06 AM
I can broker a domain purchase in bitcoins.

Lol. Bad idea buddy.
5312  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitscalper.com Threat Level on: January 30, 2012, 01:26:59 AM
I know who he is.  What I meant was, bitscalper showing one person their code does not calm the fears of many people.

^^^ This. This is why I felt it was time to bring this public. Fuck me if I'm responsible for letting everyone's money get stolen if I had a chance to do something about it.

When came we expect them?

The whales or the issues?

We're expected to go to print in one week.

The print issue is released the same date.

I offered Matthew to eventually verify part of our codebase and waiting for someone from the trusted members pool to contact me.

2 weeks passed. I am now officially convinced it has been a waste of time.

Withdrawals are processing correctly.

No one is arguing this.

Do not let this community suffer through another MyBitcoin. Let's kindly and quietly raise our standards and show these so called 'businesses' how it's done.

Start acting like an adult, explain why now you won't checkout our code.

No code has been shown or even attempted to be shown to me or anyone in our organization. Just more requests gone unheard. Besides, the code you'll want to show is probably a websocket interface to get the MtGox ticker anyway.

If you actually have some code ready, contact anyone on your Skype list that you've gathered and just show them. I'm done waiting and I wash my hands of doing business with shady types.

I'd just like to mention that I spoke with bitscalper in #bitcoin-otc and publicly offered him 100 BTC for proof that the system was real and I was able to confirm trades made by it on the exchanges.  Not even asking to see the code just proof that its really doing what he says the site does to scalp the market.  He agreed and said he would come back the next day to setup a screen-cast.

He has since been MIA from IRC, without even an attempted to contact me.

0 - SCAM

Exact same experience. The more people I talk to, the dumber I feel. He seems to be playing the same confidence game on everyone.

Alas, we're not talking about him though-- he more or less seems like a very nice guy. Just his business is a giant risk.

5319  Economy / Services / Re: Introducing the Bitcoin100: A Kickstarter for Charities on: January 29, 2012, 03:36:19 PM
There is a gambling game called Bitcoin Minefield and they are thinking of donating part of their profits to a charity if the charity would accept Bitcoins. One of the charities they are looking at is http://www.icbl.org, The International Campaign to Ban Landmines.

Jesus Christ that is hilarious irony. I can't stop laughing.
5320  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitscalper.com Threat Level on: January 29, 2012, 03:22:21 PM
1. I guess I always want to have the option of having an even lower opinion of something.

Actually I'm pretty neutral about it. No trust sums it up, but I think you can go lower than that, into active distrust. There is a difference...

Maybe the scale should be more like:

5: implicit trust.

0: no trust.

-5: It's a scam.

+1

That's a good way to go I think.
