5301  Other / Meta / Re: [PROPOSAL] Partial reset of airdropped merits on: December 02, 2020, 05:36:19 PM
Just make it illegal to sell accounts,
Since majority of account sales happen outside of the forum, I don't think that ban would change much. Account buyers and sellers on forum get tagged anyway so thats almost as good as a ban.

Regarding the proposal to reset airdropped merit partially, this seems like a bit too drastic of a measure in order to stop something as account sale ( maybe I'm naive/ignorant on the matter but I don't think that's happening on a mass scale) and might affect those that don't have anything to do with shady business but just decided to take longer hiatus from forum.

Can someone please check dl links in this thread please?
🎲ANN OFFICIAL🎲 DiceNode (DNO) The P2P Cryptocurrencie POS/MN 🎲ANN OFFICIAL🎲

@qwertyup23 reported them for using fake team member photos, but maybe that's not all that is wrong with this ANN. Github account used was made 2 days ago, website laucnhed at the same date as well,  and beside those fake team member photos project doesn't have much other info. Very little effort invested in all this, so that's what made me suspicious.

Code:

5303  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] DiceNode (DNO) - Fake Team on: December 02, 2020, 09:07:04 AM
Nice catch OP, as always. Account tagged and flag supported.

Beside fake team, I think that something more sinister might be behind this, and it's malware links inside thier wallet. If you check their github account ( https://github.com/Marloondev) you will see that it's only 2 days old. Maybe I am just paranoid, but I am gonna report it Report Malware and Suspicious Links here so Mods can take Action ! so someone with more expertise might check it. Better safe than sorry.

5304  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie with avatar? on: December 02, 2020, 08:07:05 AM

Is this because the account was created when avatar was not restricted to any rank?
Afaik yes, as I've seen below Full Member accounts wearing avatars, and all of them were old accounts, and if I remember correctly, also from 2012. Maybe it works the same way like those animated avatars, which are not available anymore but as long as you don't replace it with something else, they will stay.

https://blog.coinbase.com/ethereum-2-0-staking-rewards-are-coming-soon-to-coinbase-a25d8ac622d5

Quote
Binance has launched an ETH 2.0 Staking service starting from 2020/12/02 0:00 AM (UTC). Users that participate in ETH 2.0 staking will receive BETH* at a ratio of 1 ETH = 1 BETH. In addition, ETH 2.0 staking rewards will be distributed daily in the form of BETH.

Evo jos par informacija:
  • Minimalni iznos za stejkanje:0.0001 ETH
  • ETH ce biti lockan na cca 2 godine
  • APY: 5%-20%

Another busy month on scam busting scene, eight new ones have been added to this ever growing list. Bitcoin price keeps going up and and it is very close to reaching new all time high, and that means one thing- scammers will became active more than ever as bunch of new people start fomoing and investing in absolutely anything that has word "crypto" in it and promises high return, like cryptocurrencies are magic money

5307  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Shady seller Vindictuses - AVOID on: December 01, 2020, 09:15:16 AM
Trialed in 5 minutes. Why I should escrow with any random person on telegram? In 2 hours since I made the topic, 15 people sent a message each smarter than the previous. if i ask them to sign message to prove they have the coins for the ses, no one can do it.
You didn't even negotiate with him regarding escrow, you just said no and that's it. Do you really plan to build any business here with no reputation and without using escrow? Good luck with that.

Every few days we have someone coming to scam accusation section that gets scammed in similar manner, so don't be surprised that you got tagged. It is very simple really, I do not trust any brand new account that sells something with these red flags:
  • Opens self-moderated thread
  • Refuses to do any communication through bitcointalk PM (as admins can check authenticity if needed)
  • Communication only via Telegram
  • Refuses to use escrow
5308  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER: ParleFrance scammed me on: December 01, 2020, 08:07:08 AM
thats not me niggas, what all of you stupid weirdos are talking
Not really my type of music, but I find it very appropriate for this Smiley

Shaggy -  It Wasn't Me

You did your scam, you got tag for it so you can move on now to another account with which you will probably try to do the same thing as before as scammers like you don't give up easily since there are always enough of those that are reckless and naive when doing online business.
5309  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Shady seller Vindictuses - AVOID on: December 01, 2020, 07:46:04 AM
Newbie account seller that refuses escrow is a textbook example of scammer  and certainly not the  person that should be trusted so it is a good thing that you opened a topic here. On top of that he set self-moderated thread and even mentioned not to send him messages via forum.

Since I think that there is a big chance that he is a scammer, I am tagging him.
5310  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Noticed something and want to share. on: December 01, 2020, 07:16:46 AM
I have made my account two days ago. And I just made only 5 posts.
I am giving the whole time to this forum and getting a lot of knowledge about cryptocurrencies world.
First of all, welcome to bitcointalk! That is a good approach, to get yourself familiar with the forum. Take your time, read the rules, there is no need to rush into anything. Newbies tend to do  that mistake and they end u getting banned (pay extra attention to proper referencing when copying an external article). So make sure that you know do's and don'ts. A lot of newbies tend to ignore that part and it doesn't end up well for them.

Should I choose a one topic like current affairs or only bitcoin or only altcoins discussion or should I post everything here.
Regarding your question, in my opinion it's best you write about the stuff that you are interested in, whether it's bitcoin, altcoins or something else. Don't feel pressured writing in some section about stuff that you don't care about as it will affect your post quality, whether you want it or not.

Since you are still new I would advise you to read this guide made by @tranthidung Bitcointalk posting etiquette. It has a lot of useful info and will set you on the right track from the beginning.

5311  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER: ParleFrance scammed me on: December 01, 2020, 06:35:33 AM
and which retards put that -2 on my account for no reason
this kid never had conversation with me outside this forum, thats why he can't provide chat.
Or maybe he can't provide Telegram chat screenshots because you simply deleted it on both ends. One of the reasons why scammers prefer Telegram is because it's easy to hide tracks, especially if other side don't know much about it. Since you are an alt account of a known scammer, just those screenshots of forum conversation is enough of a proof and your childish reaction to accusation just confirms it.

Flag supported and account tagged.

Haha I see that you had an interesting chat with that bellend. Based on his history he will resurface with another account and yet again some newbie will fall for this trick.
Maybe at least neutral (if not going for negative immediately) feedback with warning should be made in similar cases, but then again I'm not sure that even that would save OP from making that mistake.
5312  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Glasanje za najbolji bitcointalk intervju on: November 30, 2020, 09:16:18 PM

5313  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitwings promises smartphone that can mine 2 ETH/month. Ponzi scheme? on: November 30, 2020, 08:40:01 PM
The paid thread bumpers were back for a few days, but it seems they, too, have given up already...

Bitwings ANN thread = officially dead.
I wouldn't celebrate just yet as I don't think this is the last we hear about Bitwings, magic smartphone and all the other products like laptops and tablets that they are developing  They are still pushing that idea in South America, making YouTube videos etc so I think that they will occasionally hire those bumpers too. But even those bumpers were laughable, same as their 2 ETH /month smartphone idea.

It makes zero sense what they are doing, yet they keep going on. It's truly baffling.
5314  Other / Meta / Re: 2 users. One spams with topics, one spams with burst posts. Could they be nuked on: November 30, 2020, 02:34:54 PM
cryptoboss2020. The user is a topic productive and created many topics. The issue is his topics are zero value and he abandoned them as topics for spammers. What is his aims to create his topics?
That guy is a known troll, and not even good one, and he is doing the same thing for a few months now. Unfortunately people are still trying to respond to his nonsense in the serious way, instead of reporting how topics . If they can't be bothered to do that, least they could avoid the him.

Regarding the nuking, that's usually done to lower activity no merit accounts that spam forum heavily and despite the nonsense he writes I am not sure that he will get nuked.
5315  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - asu u=519783 on: November 30, 2020, 11:05:21 AM
It really sucks to see something like  this happening, and I know it's kinda late but I hope that lenders will rethink (or at least stricten) their policy of giving no collateral loans, especially not for longer period of time. It might not be fair to those that are regularly repaying their loans but as we can see even DT1 accounts with decent loan history are not immune to something like this.

They might have every intention of paying it back but if they're unable to or the price rises significantly then it's all too easy to just disappear as there's probably little to no real world ramifications and the only damage done to them is a ruined account.
That might become big issue as we are into bull market now, so if you take a loan and in a couple of months btc goes up 2-3x you might have serious issues with repaying since majority of us still get out of paycheck in fiat. Unless you are part of CM or some other campaign that has fixed btc payrate but even then it's not very smart to think of it as a sure money.

5317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People still don't know about Bitcoin on: November 30, 2020, 10:12:39 AM
Moreover, I have noticed that IT guys are overrated. Just because someone knows how to think algorithmically and write some code using a programming language, doesn't mean he/she is smarter than an engineer or a mechanic. Also there are so many branches of programming. If someone is a front-end coder, he might have never even heard about blockchain.
Well, it is a fact that in those early days bitcoin spread mostly among that group, and even now majority of people around me that are more knowledgeable about bitcoin and crypto in general are from that sector, and it is not a surprise. For me, thing that got me into crypto was mining part, and fact that you could make some money with your GPUs/CPUs , as back then (early 2014) I was really into PC hardware so for me that was kinda fun.

Potentially, the reason why most IT specialists, programmers, developers, and other tech-savvy individuals cannot comprehend the significance of bitcoin, the reasons it was created in the first place, goals it aims to attain is because bitcoin is more than a mere software program. The thing is even if you are able to understand what code inside that program does, it won't tell you why it does so. For example, Satoshi has found a solution to the problem of Byzantine generals, he created a digital and scarce commodity that cannot be copied but can be sent to anyone in the world. Okay, great... But why do humans need it? Not everyone is ready to dive into a rabbit hole to find an answer.
That's true, many simply do not see the reason why would they own any bitcoin. Whether for paying stuff, or as a form of investment as that's why majority of people are buying it for. Then there is a group of those that don;t want to admit that they were wrong because of ego, so they keep saying the same stuff. I was arguing with them for years on one IT forum, and almost none changed their mind. Despite all that, I still think that in these 11 years bitcoin spread more than even Satoshi or any other early people thought it will i such period of time, so I would say that we are ahead of the roadmap and,
5318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People still don't know about Bitcoin on: November 30, 2020, 06:37:45 AM
I would say that when I observe people around me (I'm from Croatia) majority heard about bitcoin but they don't really know even basics. Out of those that heard about it, most of them still have rhinos that it's some kind of ponizi/pyramid scheme made for sole purpose by the rich to steal money from the poor and naive.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but that's what many people here think. What surprises me though is how many of the them are in IT business (programmers etc) and should be able to understand bitcoin concept better than some average Joe, and no amount of reasoning can change their mind.

5320  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where do we see the price of bitcoin after 3 decades on: November 29, 2020, 11:15:00 AM
In three decades see bitcoin price either extremely high (1+ million USD) or extremely low. I don't really se some middle ground here but since I firmly belive in bitcoin I think that we can expect them former price.

All this its  course is just a guesstimate as that's very long period of time, but when you see how you much bitcoin achieved in the first 11 years I next 30 will be much better and hardest part is behind us.
