5301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s the best coin to buy apart from bitcoin on: December 25, 2019, 04:49:39 AM
Tron - TRX would be better to hodl for 2020, rather then XRP , EOS and NEO will be consider as under best coin list where Ethereum still need to upgrade, Try to hold bitcoin 70% and give space in your wallet to altcoins as 30% max..

Thanks

Considering the state of altcoins right now, I would rather allocate 90% of my funds to Bitcoin and the remaining 10% to altcoins. Those days are long gone, when useless altcoins used to give 100x and 200x ROI per year purely due to speculation. Even established altcoins are struggling now, and during the next year (2020) we may witness a lot many of these alts dying out completely.

Spinner in CSk : Imran Tahir, Karn Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, Harbhajan Singh and now Piyush chawla and Sai Kishore. then they have one or two part timer spinner too.

Out of this, Imran Tahir and Ravindra Jadeja seems to be confirmed slots and others may get a chance only if someone out of these two gets injured. And the 3rd choice is going to be Mitchell Santner, and not Chawla (since his batting skills are better). I don't understand the point in splurging almost $1 million on a player, who may not get a single game during the whole tournament.
5303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins not Growing These Days on: December 24, 2019, 01:59:43 PM
We must already admit that not all cryptocurrencies will grow in the future, most of the projects will simply leave the market

Most of these projects had just one purpose. And that was to make the promoters rich. And in most of the cases, the original purpose is realized. The promoters dumped most of their tokens after triggering the pump-and-dump cycles and in the end most of the tokens were left with the investors. The development stopped after the promoters made their exit. Now the investors have the useless tokens with them, and they can't sell these tokens as they have been delisted from the major exchanges.
5304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has this year Christmas favor your cryptocurrency portfolios? on: December 24, 2019, 01:46:34 PM
I also sold many coins from my portfolio as its now hard to hold because I have to meet out my expenditures. This year I was expecting some good move but in the end, all my hopes are gone but I am disappointed that I could not hold.

Many of the little known altcoins have gone down by more than 90% so far in 2019. I was a bit luckier, as I sold most of my coins in 2018, by converting them to either ETH or BTC. Had I held on to them, then I would have incurred very heavy losses. I strongly suspect that we are witnessing a phase of market consolidation. Useless alts are getting nuked and their market caps are getting concentrated on a select bunch of established coins.
5305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 24, 2019, 01:37:58 PM
I heard that there are some issues ongoing between Pakistan Cricket Board and the BCB regarding the schedule of test matches between the two teams. BCB wants the test matches to be moved to UAE, while the PCB has stated that there is no question of Pakistani home matches taking place in a third country again, given how successfully they organized the Sri Lankan tour.
This is  completely shit from BCB because now Sri Lankan team done very successful tour of Pakistan so they have to face reality and complete their commitment otherwise they are going to lost points and helping Pakistan for staying at no 3 for some time because I check PCB insisting they will not go to UAE for any series.

I am not sure whether the ICC will deduct points from Bangladesh for their refusal to tour Pakistan. Will they do the same to teams such as England and Australia? I am sure that they will avoid touring Pakistan in the future, making the excuse of risk from terrorist attacks. Also, India hasn't toured Pakistan for more than a decade now. ICC can't make exceptions and punish Bangladesh.
5306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for the low to buy more Litecoins on: December 24, 2019, 01:21:04 PM
Don't know it will go under 30$ or not but if it did I will buy as much as I can if possible. But I think it mostly depends on bitcoin. We saw from the past when btc fall LTC fall too. So I think we need to wait for the next btc dump.

The recent drop in the Litecoin exchange rates have been sharper compared to the same with Bitcoin. And I have my own reasons to believe that Litecoin will not go up when the next bull run occurs for Bitcoin. The acceptability and adoption for LTC has gone down over the recent months, while many of its competitors have surged ahead. The development is also going on at snail's pace.
5307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Consider All Altcoins Bad on: December 24, 2019, 01:11:50 PM
It depends on individual perception. For some people, if more than 20% of a particular group is consisted of scams, then they would label the entire group as unworthy of investing in. This threshold may vary from person to person. Some may even regard a particular group as worth investing in, even if it is known that 90% of that group is composed of scams. In the end, it is entirely up to the individual.
5308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people still fall victim to obvious scam? on: December 24, 2019, 12:55:39 PM
I read the article and in this case I have to blame the investors rather than the criminal who ran away with the coins. I understand that greed is a basic human characteristic. But we all need to make sure that we don't incur any loses as a result of this greed. When someone offers you 2x or 10x returns in a month or so, you should first study whether his plan is viable or not. It is tragic that people continues to lose their hard earned money in these scams, despite information regarding the well publicized scams such as Plus Token available all over the internet.
5309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins getting delisted on: December 24, 2019, 12:48:38 PM
Investing in lesser known altcoins always involve a certain amount of risk. Many of these coins run purely on speculations, as they don't have any real-life usage. They may undergo a few pump-and-dump cycles and during this time the promoters may be able to offload most of their holdings. And once that is done, the interest for that particular coin or token in the market will go down and in due course the trade volumes will decline and it will get delisted from the exchanges.
5310  Economy / Economics / Re: How do manage portfolio efficiently while having a full time job? on: December 24, 2019, 12:42:33 PM
A person who works 5 hours a day can invest in this market. However, a person working 8 hours or more per day cannot invest in this market. Because this market is consuming one's energy. So tiring. Operations continue every minute. This is really hard to achieve.

If you are talking about day trading, then I have to agree with you. Doing day trade along with a full time job is next to impossible. If you do that, then the chances are that you will fail in both. On the other hand, it is perfectly OK to indulge in long-term investment along with a full time job. Because the research and analysis needed for such investment can be done during the spare time you get between the full-time job.

5312  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin becoming a safehaven currency in Argentina on: December 24, 2019, 12:25:26 PM
There are many countries like Argentina that are in crisis. Gold and Bitcoin can be a value retention tool for economically distressed countries. People have to take precautions against economic problems.

Both are not perfect solution to solving the problem of volatility. Bitcoin can go up or down by as much as 10% in a single day. You can't use such an asset as a store of value. Similarly, storing gold is not very easy. Storing it in the physical form can attract unwanted attention from criminals, especially in economically broke countries such as Venezuela and Argentine. Storing paper gold is also not the best option, as you can't trust the banks from these countries.
5313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 24, 2019, 12:07:40 PM
I am not sure whether the BCCI will succeed in their efforts for a new tournament. Already they are in talks with the other big 3 nations for a quadrangular tournament in 2021. Ganguly want to go back to the Big 3 era, when the three boards pocketed 90% of the ICC revenue. However, yesterday there was a statement from the Cricket Australia head, stating that he would put the future of the sport ahead of any shot-time monetary reward.
5314  Economy / Economics / Re: Malaysia to Limit Cash Transactions in 2020 on: December 24, 2019, 12:01:44 PM
Personally, I strongly support Malaysia's plan, cash transactions really need to be reduced to make efficiency in transactions.  cash is an old concept, I have started using online transactions in various important activities such as buying daily necessities, buying gasoline and paying bills, in addition to greatly facilitating me, I can also monitor how much I spend money every month.

There are people out there who are unable to make online payments. What's your take on them? Making online payments need a smartphone and an internet connection. As far as I know, the government is not giving away these for free. Also, if they make such payment methods mandatory, then they need to give training to people (especially the elderly) on how to use them. And this is one of the reasons why China went back on enforcing digital payments recently.

What your thoughts about CSK bought Piyush Chawla for 6.75 cores (INR) and what strategies behind Dhoni go with Piyush Chawla because there are so many young players are in list with good form.

Quote
players bought in auction: 4 (Piyush Chawla, Josh Hazlewood, Sam Curran and R Sai Kishore)

If I was the franchise owner, then I wouldn't give anything more than the base price for Piyush Chawla (20 Lakh or around $30,000). I heard that it was Dinesh Karthik who went all guns blazing for Chawla in the auctions and there may be something behind the curtains that people may not understand. I don't want to go in detail, but "DK" is very close to N Srinivasan and his name was heard a lot of times when CSK was banned in 2015 for match fixing.
5316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Outclasses Other Cryptocurrencies as an Investment Option, Here’s Why on: December 23, 2019, 11:58:35 AM
So far this year, the market share of Bitcoin in the cryptocurrency market has increased from 45% to around 69%. And most of this increase has occurred after 2019 April. Investors are realizing that most of the current altcoins don't have any practical usage, and they are trying to survive by leaching off Bitcoin. There is a lot of movement from alts to BTC (i.e people are selling their alts to purchase Bitcoin).
5317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Build yourself a solid portfolio with good projects on: December 23, 2019, 11:52:36 AM
From what I have seen during the past many years... having a good idea is not a guarantee for getting good returns in the future. A lot many of the good projects have failed at the market. Sometimes they go down as a result of the slow pace of development, but there were also cases when good projects went down for no fault of theirs. The depressed state of the market has a disproportionately negative impact on these new projects.
5318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has this year Christmas favor your cryptocurrency portfolios? on: December 23, 2019, 11:46:34 AM
In 2013 and 2017, the ATH was reached in mid-December and the dumping started by the third week. By the time of X'mas, the exchange rates were down at least 20-30% from the ATH levels. Now I am not sure whether this pattern will repeat this time or not, but there is a strong chance as a lot of the users will be selling their coins to fund their year-end vacations.
5319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs should target developing and third world countries on: December 23, 2019, 11:40:50 AM
It is easier said than done. The biggest problem is the vague legal definition regarding cryptocurrencies in many of the third world nations. Here in India, a few months back a few guys installed a Bitcoin ATM (in the city of Bangalore). But within hours, the authorities confiscated the ATM and arrested the promoters. They even seized their mobile phones and laptops. The authorities were claiming that the ATM was opened without obtaining a license. The promoters on the other hand claimed that they had requested for a license, but the authorities were not willing to issue the same.
5320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 23, 2019, 11:34:54 AM
Pakistan won the match by 263 runs, and this win has enabled them to jump from the 6th spot in the 2019–21 ICC World Test Championship to the 3rd place. Right now they have 80 points from 4 matches, with a RpW ratio of 0.765. Sri Lanka is at the 4th spot, with 80 points and RpW ratio of 0.589. The details can be found at the ICC website:
It was an incredible win for Pakistan by coming back from behind and winning the match when everyone wrote them off and the funny thing about the ICC World Test championship is that there are no matches that is going on other than Australia and New Zealand and hence they will move to higher positions as long as there is no other matches.

You are right. The format for this World Test championship is really confusing. Some of the matches are being counted as a part of the World Test championship, and some are not. For example, the two-test series between New Zealand and England was not considered as a part of the championship, while the two-test series between India and Bangladesh which went on at the same time was a part of it.
