And maybe Microsoft could just fix their buggy browser. Cheesy

(hint - don't use rubbish software and you will have a better experience)
5342  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Duplicate private keys question on: March 30, 2013, 02:47:34 PM
This has been answered many times before - basically the chances are about the same as you getting hit by lightning on the same day at the same exact time several years in a row.
5343  Other / Off-topic / Re: if a block was mined every 2 min? on: March 30, 2013, 02:21:43 PM
Doesn't LTC basically do this already (i.e. blocks at around 2.5 minutes)?
5344  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I train my headlights to mine bitcoin? on: March 30, 2013, 02:01:16 PM
So if I am reading this right there is no way to access the on board chips to reprogram them?

Indeed - they simply cannot be reprogrammed.
5345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is signing with your Bitcoin address? on: March 30, 2013, 12:56:16 PM
It is most useful in situations where you need to *prove* that you own an address such as trying to get a repayment if you accidentally sent to the wrong address (assuming the other party is co-operative).
5346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoind balance doesn't agree on: March 30, 2013, 12:53:07 PM
It will use the first reserved one in the list.
5347  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Ann] Fartcoin - the coin you create just by farting (mining begins April 1st) on: March 30, 2013, 12:30:54 PM
Where is the Genesis Fart?  Shocked

I will be producing it and it will be memorable (am trying to work on creating a small melody - the wife is not impressed).
5348  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I train my headlights to mine bitcoin? on: March 30, 2013, 12:26:09 PM
You cannot *re-program* an ASIC it is a "purpose-built" Integrated Circuit (FPGA on the other hand *can* be re-programmed).
5349  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bid and ask wall explained? on: March 30, 2013, 12:17:45 PM
Quite simply a wall can act as a price "holder" - if placed on the Bid side then you can read it as being an indicator that the price is unlikely to drop below it without a significant amount of trades and if placed on the Ask side then as an indicator that the price is unlikely to raise above it.

Note that walls can disappear at any time (as the orders can just be cancelled) so they are often also used by people attempting to manipulate the people (or perhaps bots) that are observing them.
5350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Zero knowledge proof of coin ownership ? on: March 30, 2013, 12:12:30 PM
The zero-knowledge proof of ownership would add the property that the fiat lender never gets
to know *which* coins you own, just that you own a given amount.

I think that unless the BTC was held in escrow it would be very hard to trust this concept (i.e. just because someone *has* a bunch of BTC doesn't mean they won't run off with the fiat).
5351  Other / Off-topic / [Ann] Fartcoin - the coin you create just by farting (mining begins April 1st) on: March 30, 2013, 12:08:29 PM
To mine you just need to purchase a specialised "fart mining" device (a WiFi "cushion" that broadcasts the specific details of each fart to the "fart mining network" which in a distributed manner decides which farts will be used to extend the chain of all memorable farts).

Units can be pre-ordered in BTC and we'll deliver them when we are good and ready.

Note: there will no pre-mined farts and please consider the environment before ingesting large amounts of beans.
5352  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Historical question: were any Bitcoins premined? If so, how many? on: March 29, 2013, 07:42:24 AM
AFAIA the coinbase from the Genesis block cannot be spent - so it really couldn't be considered "premined".
5353  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea 'readies rocket force' after US stealth flights on: March 29, 2013, 04:59:56 AM
I hope you're right, but the tension in the region does seem to be ratcheting up.

I am more concerned about the situation between China and Japan (that hasn't been mentioned much in Western headlines) as talk of war between them (over the disputed territory) is now a constant topic in Beijing.
5354  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions have not been removed on: March 28, 2013, 04:12:04 PM
As pointed out - your time logged as *online* is not enough yet (from memory it needs to be 4 hours).
5355  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a serious question on: March 28, 2013, 04:07:51 PM
With the market cap just exceeding 1 billion USD today is it really likely you can buy nukes with BTC (especially since a lot of the market cap is not available for trading)?

Perhaps it could be used as some sort of excuse to attack it - but it doesn't seem very likely to be in any way a *real issue* to me.
5356  Other / Off-topic / Re: I need suggestions... on: March 28, 2013, 03:48:17 PM
#EDIT3: The first day, I holded my compulsive need of trolling grammar nazis and other mistakes or even posting something helpful to answer a quesion. At least in some cases, I can PM him/her and the problem will be solved in theory. But I must hold on, since 0.1 BTC is money Smiley

I admire the spirit - am hoping you will get the 0.1 BTC and maybe will have a story to tell about how to *not* post for a week (and you may indeed luck the 100 USD line)!
5357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How much send and receive address of Bitcoin client is able to generate? Thank y on: March 28, 2013, 03:16:48 PM
Am really too busy at the moment (and I think you should understand my being rather reticent to add Skype users from China) - but when you have a clearer idea about what you really want to do then welcome to PM me with some details.

(and I have no wish to make enemies so don't worry about any trolling from myself)
5358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How much send and receive address of Bitcoin client is able to generate? Thank y on: March 28, 2013, 03:06:02 PM
At the right time, I will discuss with my partner, get rid of the problem of advertising as you said.

Well I am glad that you are listening - it is important and it will help you.

I certainly agree that another exchange in China would be great - but it really needs to be done properly to work (take my comments as encouragement to improve and get there).
5359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How much send and receive address of Bitcoin client is able to generate? Thank y on: March 28, 2013, 02:58:57 PM
I feel you on the Chinese market is not very understanding.

Actually I understand very well (my wife is Chinese and I've lived here for years).

If you want to look like a professional exchange then with your current approach you have exactly no chance of doing so.
5360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How much send and receive address of Bitcoin client is able to generate? Thank y on: March 28, 2013, 02:53:12 PM
I just want my site to establish trading platform to improve Bitcoin component.

Well that is a more positive reply - first thing that I would recommend you to do is get rid all the ads at your site (it just looks like a thousand other horrible Chinese websites that are full of ads).

You will notice that btcchina does *not* have such ads - if you are serious then give up trying to make money through that (it really is a massive turn-off).
