The legend has spoken and he's entitled with his opinion because he's been in the league and achieved a lot of things. I don't disagree nor agree with what he said, it's an opinion from him and we should respect that.
I agree, opinion is an opinion. I somewhat disagree since Curry have won 3 rings already since it also a great addition for him to enter HOF, but it's in a form of a superteam. Unlike Jordan, he's with Scottie.
But now, he's not yet part of the HOF and it's just an opinion from MJ so it's up to Curry if he will take this as a compliment or as an obstacle that should be taken seriously.

Nah, individual plays of MJ and Scottie are two different things. They can play altogether and they have the chemistry although individually and technically speaking, they are both great players and worth to be part of HOF. Whilst Curry, he's still young.

Anyway, thoughts on this one?

Quote
MJ on Steph Curry:

“Still a great player. Not a Hall of Famer yet, though. He’s not.”

We see Curry as a great player so do MJ does. There's something that MJ is expecting from Steph and I think he has to achieve or show it first before MJ put him on the list.
5343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: who else think Litecoin will go huge? on: October 22, 2019, 12:03:52 PM
I can feel it but there's no guarantee that it will go up whenever bitcoin goes up too for the next cycle. Almost everyone thought that after the Litecoin's halving it will pump like crazy but no way, it didn't.

I don't held a lot of Litecoin but I still look into this altcoin as one with the potential to fire up soon. With or without Charlie Lee, there's a community that has been following it.
5344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: VERGE (XVG) Price Analysis: XVG Bulls under Bearish pressure on: October 22, 2019, 09:40:14 AM
The cryptocurrency market is struggling to overcome the downward correction. Some currencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, are struggling to keep Ripple bullish momentum on their values.
What did I just read? the two grat coins are struggling for XRP? how it could be? XRP is the one that's struggling right now while bitcoin and ethereum is doing well to be honest. I don't see a momentum for Ripple but if there will be, I don't know when.

Verge, however, is under continued downward pressure and there have been a lot of ups and downs this year. The currency is experiencing downward pressure since July and has difficulty getting bullish values.
I don't get to follow XVG's movement for the past few months and it's because it has not been moved that much.
5345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO projects with very good rating on: October 22, 2019, 08:10:58 AM
Obviously those ratings were paid. And are you still investing to ICOs? the days are now dead for that investment scheme so you shouldn't bet your money with those projects anymore. It's been known for a while that many ICO are dead and scam.

I don't know how much they paid for each of those reviews that's why when you have read a very good review, it doesn't mean that the project itself is really like that.
Same thought about the ICO reviews on ICO review websites, Most of them are paid as far as I know. It is based according to the threads and articles that I have read. It's also true that ICO today are not on the trend like the old times theirs a new way of investing in altcoins, IEO is far way better than ICO, Partnering on a exchange before launching a project can gain a trust from investor not worrying the exchange that they will trade after they got the coins from the crowdsale.
Yes they are. And that market grow strongly last two years because of the hype of ICOs but later gone because as we can see the death of ICO has come.

Those ICO websites came to review now with IEOs so basically they are doing the same thing. Nothing has changed, there might be some legit reviews but very few and minimal.

For the new season, whales never be the first one who want to get all the attention from others players, they will be watched from side and waiting for a good moment or some luck to hit that numbers. You can assume that each week he wagered 2btc, with the 1% house edge house already earning 0.02 btc. This is only apply if he losing, but with no limit of bitcoin he will always try to get it back again and again
They always do that, waiting for the right time to get in and those times are like when the wagering contest is up. But as of now, they are calm and just watching out the whole scene.

But they also play for some time but they don't go for the full wave that they can. And once it's up, you'll see them compete to each other and aiming for the top places.
5347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Another Shit Coin Up 155.54% (24H) Today on: October 21, 2019, 08:22:53 PM
I've seen someone posted it on FB that there's other one on coinmarketcap the other day that even pumped by 10,000%. But that was quick and not even appeared on the daily gainers and losers.

Expecting that they will be gone out of this market, I don't think that it will happen soonest but there will be a time to come that most of them will be exterminated because the voice of the people will go with the majority that everyone should invest to great known coins like BTC.

5349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your most common superstitions? on: October 21, 2019, 12:36:16 PM
I think superstitions are fun to have and entertaining to laugh about, it makes it more interesting.
And it's interesting when you don't believe but have some time to trip and tried and then suddenly it worked for you.  Cheesy

Some gamblers treat them in a serious way, however I think that's the wrong approach to superstition when gambling overall.
Each gambler has his own stand regarding superstitions, some literally are serious with it and there's no way for us to stop them with what they have started to believe.

What are common things you're superstitious about when gambling?
If my left hand is itchy, it means I'll have money and become lucky.  Tongue

But you know, I've proven this to be part of my laughable belief.

5351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 85% of All Bitcoin Have Now Been Mined!!! on: October 21, 2019, 09:58:44 AM
More people are concentraring on investing in btc rather than mining it because with shortage or supply becoming less it is becoming difficult for miners to mine it and the resources used such as equipmemt and electricity prices are also increasing. But still miners will not leave mining due to the profit but it will become expensive and price of one bitcoin will also high.
That's already an acceptable upgrade for most dedicated miners. They've invested heavily to their equipment and farms and they do understand the difficulty increases over time and the required hardware is also upgrading.

It's true that as reward per block decreases, price in return will go up too. This is the most exciting part even you're just holding your bitcoins and waiting for that to come.
5352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My speculation for 2020 on: October 21, 2019, 09:04:46 AM
Good catch for the sign. Honestly, most of those coins except the Gram, I'm not very familiar with all of them. And how they could list Gram if the SEC stops it?
thats my point, no one is familiar with these coins except insiders, institutions and coinbase
they are trying to ride the wave of crypto currency and make some money on retailers by listing unknown projects and sell it for high price
without giving these project time to prove that they worth something
its not typical coinbase behavior.

about Gram, i dont know..
coinbase talked about it before the problems with SEC
maybe they will get some deal with the SEC , other coins had problems with SEC and resolved it
and maybe not..
Coinbase became a place of altcoins these days because they have to compete the market for exchanges where, if they only have few altcoins listed on their exchange, the traders will find a better place to trade.

But with their choice, it seems like a joke if those are verified to be listed soon. I guess that decision from coinbase will replace since they've talked about it before the SEC issue, they will adjust it probably.

some time after the launch of these coins there will be another market manipulation and a new altcoin bubble
it probably will happen sometime in 2020 or 2021.
there is no need for 90% of this projects, its just the ticket to enter the market for some new well connected players and to grab some BTC on the way in
By 2020, halving will time in come and this will sort bitcoin into another phase of giving less rewards to the miners and will increase the demand. In turn to this, the altcoin market will benefit too but many will be extinguished.
5354  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC TO 35K$ IN 2020 on: October 19, 2019, 07:56:10 PM
You're the guy that also told about $100k by 2025 with that "research". Why not disclose all of those researches that you've made instead of making everyone think what does that research of yours contain?

Don't tell us that those were just guesses that you have in mind because you became now a bitcoin bull?
5355  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Introduction to bitcointalk on: October 19, 2019, 07:17:51 PM
Welcome pal.

Yes, you need to take time first to learn things especially the forum rules. Don't fall for those scam airdrops and bounties, they will promise to earn you pennies but they will fool you around with your own interest.

Because they might ask you some deposit first so that you will earn from them, beware of this kind of scam.
5356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to protect your crypto before death? on: October 19, 2019, 06:49:15 PM
But if a stranger who's playing around accidentally scan that, you'll be sorry.

@Abiky, I think that you should be prepared in a way through talking to them. Like giving them some idea on what you are preparing and just tell them the truth that in case something unexpected happen to you, they will be secured. Just leave them a set of instructions including your private keys.

Thanks for the tip. However, most of my family members aren't that tech savvy enough to understand cryptocurrencies in their entirety. I could leave some step-by-step instructions, though. But I wonder, if they'll be able to follow them precisely. I often use passwords with 50 characters in length in order to strengthen security. Encrypting my cryptocurrencies with such a long string of characters might be difficult to access in case of any undesired situation. Of course, I can write it down on a piece of paper. But even that could be exposed to someone not authorized.

I was thinking that maybe a multi-sig wallet would serve well its purpose for preserving my cryptocurrencies in case of death. It's easy enough to generate keys for specific family members so that 2 out of 3 keys could successfully unlock my crypto balances. If somehow the process of releasing crypto to loved ones upon my death would be fully automated (via a smart contract or something), then it would be a blast. In the meantime, I'd think it's best for me to prepare a video with in-depth instructions on how to unlock my crypto balances in the case of death. Smiley
If they are not that tech savvy, your idea of making a video with set by set instructions would fit that problem. By the way, why you are even thinking about this? I know that unexpected things might come and happen but why think as deep as this?

I can feel that there's something with this post and you're too thoughtful to your family. Well, I've prepared mine and given them a hint on what's a private key, what's ledger, etc. My video instruction will be followed.
5357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ton has big problems? on: October 19, 2019, 06:15:14 PM
What will happen next?
Let the hearing happen and the court decide first. We can't be the one to assume what should happen first. Guessing something that lies in the hands on the court and is already there, let it be finished first.

Who is Ton’s fan here anyway? Yet a multi billion project but fail to comply with US regulations thats funny. Its their neglect to commit the US rules now they are facing this big issue which could have been prevented before their full launch.
I'm not but for sure there were investors here that are hoping to make money with them. But an unexpected thing happened of being stopped by the SEC. They should see this coming or they should prepared it even before.
5358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers targeting Tor on: October 19, 2019, 05:42:19 PM
the OS I use does that automatically every time you open a Tor Browser: https://qubes-os.org
I might test this sometime, thanks for sharing this too.

you need:

  • 8GB RAM minimum (really 12GB is the comfortable minimum)
  • Intel VT-d or the AMD equivalent (forgot the name)
  • Intel SLAT or the AMD equivalent (ditto)

There's a LiveDVD version, so that would test your pc's ability to run Qubes. You can also check the list of compatible computer models (the HCL) on https://qubes-os.org before trying.
I might upgrade my PC first to 16GB although I'm eligible and have 8GB ram but it would be a better choice to have that comfortability minimum requirements.

The issue targets people that go on bad links and download exploited versions of the TOR browser which opens them up to exploits.

Download eveything off official websites. And make sure you verify everything from the offical tor website, and don't click bad links that might possibly include malware.
And don't download suspicious apps too.
5359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers targeting Tor on: October 18, 2019, 11:30:57 PM
I have the TOR browser installed on my PC but used it for few times. Thanks for this, I have uninstalled it already and deleted all the necessary folders related to it.

the OS I use does that automatically every time you open a Tor Browser: https://qubes-os.org

It keeps a master copy of the Debian linux OS safely that's never used directly. Then when you want to use Tor Browser, it makes a temporary copy of Debian, and opens Tor Browser inside that. When you quit, the whole temporary copy is deleted, including any malware that it might have got infected with Cheesy

been running this way for years now, no problems at all Cool
I might test this sometime, thanks for sharing this too.
5360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WILL Bounty campaigns Ever Keep to their Rules and Regulations on: October 18, 2019, 10:49:25 PM
The answer is NO.

As you can see most of them always includes a rule that always reserve their rights to everything. That's why those old days will never happen again. The ICO market isn't like before and the bounties won't be like those as well.

Accept the fact that those days are gone.
