5341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins delist and Bitcoin only on: December 20, 2019, 12:06:25 PM
There is simply not enough room in the market for thousands of altcoins. And we need to remember that many of these coins don't have any practical usage, and the vast majority don't even have the preliminary phase of development completed. So it is not surprising that many such coins are getting delisted. But at the same time, the good coins are not only surviving, but thriving as well.
5342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 20, 2019, 12:00:17 PM
I was not aware of Yashasvi Jaiswal and his past and he is a young talent and if he was selling paanipuris for a living and now he got the opportunity of a life time to change his life and his families life and IPL is a good platform for many upcoming players and hence i like the platform and if anyone can perform well then they will get the recognition it deserved.

Cricket is now one of the premier career options in India. Three decades ago, even the national team members used to work part time. But now, the domestic cricketers get a package that allows them to concentrate on cricket full time. The fixed salary for a domestic match distributed by the BCCI is ₹35,000 (around $500) per match day. That means that the domestic cricketers get around ₹140,000 ($2,000) for a single Ranji trophy (4-day) match. And don't forget the fact that there are a total of 38 domestic first class teams in India, which means that somewhere around 500 individuals can be considered as professional cricketers in India.
5343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your preparation for 2020? on: December 20, 2019, 11:54:07 AM
I have been active in the cryptocurrency market for more than 3 years now and I have decided to cash out some of my holdings. I am very hopeful of Bitcoin reaching a new ATH in the future, but I guess I have waited for enough time and it will be better if I diversify in to other assets such as mutual funds, real estate and bullion. I will be cashing out 50% of my holdings next year.
5344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: December 20, 2019, 11:48:53 AM
The good news is that Bengaluru FC is still at top of the table, despite losing to Mumbai City FC. Just three days after they lost a close match to the Mumbai City, the BFC destroyed NorthEast United FC 2-0 and gained 3 points from that match. And for the first time so far in this season, the NEUFC has dropped to the bottom half of the points table. They are at the 6th position, and the only four teams (Odisha, Kerala Blasters, Chennaiyin and Hyderabad) are having less points than them.

The reason AB De Villiers is planning to come back to international cricket is because he wanted to help a troubling team and he is a game changer and could increase the moral of the rest of the struggling players. The mental stress was a big thing right now and may be he was under stress playing a lot of cricket and he had a fall out with the cricket board and hence he retired and even still he is playing way much better than anyone in the World and if he wishes to play again he should be selected in the team.

He had a well publicized fight with the cricket board during the 2015 world cup (when Vernon Philander was inserted in to the playing XI to replace the in-form Kyle Abbott). He was in his early 30s when he retired and the impact that had on the quality of the South African side is out there for everyone to see. It is good to hear that he wants to be back in the national team. But I don't know how much impact that is going to have, since he wasn't active in the cricket field for the past many years (although recently he had a good outing with the MSL).
5346  Economy / Economics / Re: Taxless society idea on: December 19, 2019, 04:20:23 PM
It's really impossible, just imagine the life we have if we don't have tax, do you think people can work without any compensation at all? Without tax, there is no government so it would be  hard if we will have a country which has no government at all, there will be no unity and no opportunity at all.

I don't believe that it is possible to eliminate tax 100%. But we can keep it down to tolerable levels, given that the government cuts down on wasteful spending. Nowadays, large parts of the tax revenues are being used for providing salaries to the government employees. And another large fraction is being used for maintaining armies and waging wars. An even bigger portion gets eaten up by the welfare rates. If we can cut down on these sectors, then it will be possible to keep the tax rates to a minimal level.
5347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 19, 2019, 04:13:45 PM
Having same capitain for all the three format has its advantage,I just said Rohit is also capable of doing the capitaincy and I don't think BCCI looking for any replacement before the next world cup tournament, just let the players to settle down as captain then they can give better performance.

In that case let the BCCI make Rohit Sharma the replacement captain, in addition to his current role as the vice-captain of the team. In matches where Virat Kohli is unavailable to play, Rohit can lead the team. In that way, he can gain good experience and when the requirement comes he may be considered for the role of permanent captain.
5348  Economy / Economics / Re: stupidity is so close to poverty on: December 19, 2019, 04:07:17 PM
The answer is partially yes because stupid people can make inherit money/properties/assets or win a lottery but there are 99% chances that the money shall soon leave them or they shall soon loose all the money to the wiser  folks.

Nowadays, a large majority of the billionaires are those who inherited their wealth. Examples range from Mohammad bin Salman of Saudi Arabia and Gina Reinhart of Australia to the current president of the United States (Donald Trump). A few such as Mark Zuckerberg and Sergey Brin have managed to make a fortune for themselves. But the number of such individuals are not increasing.
Rich people in today’s world are usually the ones who have inherited wealth from their ancestors and few of them you have mentioned already. Self made billionaires are also great in number like CEO of facebook, CEO of Amazon etc. the reason why we don’t see more successful people now a day is that the competition has increased to maniac level. Those who have ideas don’t have resources usually.

With every passing year, the chance of someone becoming a self-made billionaire is declining. Because we have a large community of existing billionaires and they want the wealth to be concentrated in their hands. They form alliances with each other, to make sure that the wealth doesn't get distributed. Also, the tax system actually affects the middle class more than these billionaires. So for the emerging players, the conditions are tough out there.
5349  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin volatility here to stay? on: December 19, 2019, 04:01:05 PM
Bitcoin is still only around a decade old. It may take many decades for it to stabilize itself. Stocks, bullion.etc are less volatile when compared to Bitcoin, because they have been around for a long time and a lot many people trade with these assets. As the user base increases, the volatility of Bitcoin will go down. Perhaps within the next 3-4 years, the volatility of Bitcoin will become comparable with that of the stock market.
5350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH to zero? This guy is dreaming! on: December 19, 2019, 02:35:07 PM
Ethereum becoming completely worthless is a very unlikely scenario. But at the same time, things are not looking too rosy for Ethereum right now. They need to pull up their act, or their no.2 position will be under serious threat from the competitors. Today I saw a news article, which claimed that Ethereum 2.0 won't be ready for another 5 years, as the developers are busy elsewhere. Everyday new bugs and security issues are being discovered in Ethereum, and the developers remain indifferent to that.
5351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After 50% hike in Two weeks, Matic dropped 70% in Minutes on: December 19, 2019, 02:28:51 PM
ROFLMAO. What makes this any different from all the pump-and-dump tokens we had in 2018 and 2019? Now let me recount what happened to MATIC this month:

The pump starts at $0.014
The peak valuation is attained, at $0.042
Massive dump occurs, with 24-hour trade volume clocking at $350 million
After the dump, the price gets back to the pre-pump levels ($0.013)

During the past 3 years, I have seen dozens of similar pump-and-dump cycles. So this doesn't surprise me anymore. Many congrats to the promoters, who managed to dump their tokens at a healthy rate!!!

5352  Economy / Economics / Re: Exchanges are rebelling against constant hard forks on: December 19, 2019, 02:17:51 PM
Coinfloor has been one of the shittiest cryptocurrency exchanges out there, and no one really cares whether they are going to delist Bitcoin Cash or not. This is an exchange which has a trade volume of only around $2 million per day. I will be more worried if the bigger exchanges decide to delist coins such as Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin SV.
5353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 19, 2019, 02:11:47 PM
sometimes i feel that Rohit should be a captain for India in the shorter format. He handles pressure beautifully when things go south.
Agree with this, because he is doing exceptional work as captain for Mumbai Indians franchise for many more years so he can able to lead the team, kohli also been captain for RCB too long but not much successive on it.

I am not in favor of this idea. Let's have the same guy as the captain for all the three formats. Virat Kohli is the most suitable guy for the job and in the past he has carried out his captaincy duties in an excellent and unbiased manner. I don't have anything against Rohit Sharma. He is a nice player, and it may be better for him to concentrate on his batting. Let's have a stable team, with Virat leading the team for the next 5-6 years.
5354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins not Growing These Days on: December 19, 2019, 02:01:29 PM
The market has got more matured now, and therefore we can't expect useless shitcoins to amass market capitalization in excess of $100 million. But there is no need to get disheartened. Even this year, the market witnessed many new coins getting listed and giving good returns to the investors. One example is that of UNUS SED LEO. MINDOL and Chainlink are some of the other coins that come to my mind right now.
5355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 19, 2019, 01:51:40 PM
Looks like SL is going to gain another 60 points easily. Pakistan bowled out for 191 and SL are currently trailing by 172 runs. Pakistan bowlers will have to come up with some magic to restrict the SL batsmen. And then the Pak batsmen have to do their job, which I don't expect to happen  Undecided

Horrible form by Pakistan continues!!! I thought that they would be more comfortable this time, since the match is going on at Karachi and the opponents are not exactly very tough guys. The absence of Fakhar Zaman seems to be hurting them. His absence put a lot of pressure on Babar Azam, and it was very evident that he was not getting support from the other batsmen.
5356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do with a 1000$ and what would you do? on: December 19, 2019, 01:45:00 PM
It is not a big amount. I have two scenarios for you, and you can chose the one which suits you better:

Plan A: Invest the entire $1,000 in Bitcoin
Plan B: Invest 80% in Bitcoin and the remaining in established altcoins such as Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin.etc

I would have included some 5% for the emerging altcoins, but in my opinion right now there is not a single crypto among them that is worth investing in. So it will be better, if you stick to the established coins.
5357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 19, 2019, 01:37:27 PM
Good for him, i never thought he was that expensive  Cheesy.

I guess he suited the KKR lineup for the IPL 2020. They had a lot of money remaining, and they wanted to hire a world class fast bowler. And you may agree that Pat Cummins was the best bowler available during today's auction (with Mitchell Starc pulling out). They might have got Tim Southee or Chris Woakes for cheaper rates, but Cummins is among the world's best.

I'd say... money well spent.
5358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ETH dump even more due to PlusToken? on: December 19, 2019, 01:30:20 PM
I am not sure about this. According to the media reports, the dump by the scammers started a few weeks back. But when I check the charts, I can see that Bitcoin is up by around 6%. Some of the other cryptocurrencies have also gained value. From what we know, the Plus Token scam involved the following amounts:

180,000 BTC
6,400,000 ETH
111,000 USDT
53 OMG

This is a partial/incomplete list, but you can see that BTC is among the stolen funds. So I am really surprised with the Bitcoin rally today.
5359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 19, 2019, 01:24:53 PM
For business perspective is good move, we can argue that domestic players should get NOC for foreign T-20 leagues ( as pointed by Sithara007) but IMO T-20 leagues are not helpful in terms of exposure when comparing with IPL. if its for  Sheffield Shield, English Counties or Sunfoil Series (4 days match) then i am in favor without any doubt.

Well... I really doubt whether the Indian players will be interested in taking part in the 4-day competitions abroad. Earlier a lot of players (such as Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid) used to do that, but now with such packed schedule, none of the mainstream players are interested in such foreign stints. That's why I said that the T20 leagues suit them more. Salary is high, and the work load is low.
5360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to prepare for long term HODL on: December 18, 2019, 06:35:47 PM
I am not buying to this HODL long term anymore. Especially for Altcoins, I might consider hodling those coins that already have made their name but for new coins. I would try consider buying them but sell it when its peak and jump ship to another coins to earn another possible profits.

Well.. I would second that opinion. Fortunately for me, I sold 80% of the altcoins in my wallet during 2018. Back then, I was feeling nervous in doing so. Because a lot of guys here were predicting that the alts would recover their value in 2019. But that never happened and some of them even became completely worthless. Now my only regret is that I didn't sold the remaining 20% of the coins back in 2018.
