Are you really comparing people knowingly selling illegal goods to accidents in traffic? If 1 million people sold stolen cars in Turkey should that be tolerated?

+ If you can prove they sell illegal goods in all jurisdictions, then moderators will remove it. Just because you don't like a digital good or it's illegal in your jurisdiction doesn't mean it's illegal in everywhere. Rules are clear.

Fun fact*: People sell stolen cars in Syria, they steal it from Turkey and sell them back to real owners. That's tolerated by our government. Laws are f*cked up.

Every year* only in Turkey there are more than 1 million accidents in traffic. Let's ban (remove) all cars from traffic then.

I'm saying it's the same logic. There are accidents, ban cars. There are illegal goods, remove whole marketplace.
It's like censoring internet in Turkey only for Turkish users when a social media site don't remove a content that government don't want us to see. But everybody use VPN and see it anyway. It's absurd, outdated, anti-libertarian. This offer is against BitcoinTalk's policy.

Bitcoin bank? Are we not our own bank anymore

Actually it says startup in the article, not bank. I don't know why OP wrote bank in subject.

The former CIO of Nike is joining a bitcoin startup

He will work for Bitreserve, you can check their site here: https://bitreserve.org

Quote
The company, founded in the last six months, transfers deposits of the digital currency bitcoin into other currencies and allows customers to send and receive money anywhere in the world for very low fees. A promo video calls Bitreserve “a next-generation money service built on top of bitcoin,” but goes on to describe the volatility of bitcoin, and says that Bitreserve, “solves bitcoin’s volatility problem by enabling you to hold bitcoin denominated as stable, real-world value.” The site currently offers eight currencies: dollar; euro; pound; franc; yen; yuan; rupee; and peso. It also offers commodities—for now, the metals gold, silver, platinum and palladium.

Digital Goods section is very useful if you know how to use that board. There are a lot of legit sellers and that board bring more activity for Bitcoin related market transactions. I would say it is the biggest and best board for Bitcoin ecosystem and should be expanded (more sub forums), not removed.

75.98% is all loans throu all time, in the beginning there probably was <25% repayment rate when there was no verification of anything needed to be able to apply for loans.

Is there a detailed stats for repayments all/before/after verification? That would be good. I expect +%90 repayment rate to call it a successful service. Otherwise I stay out of that site.
5377  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCjam - Any Thoughts or Experiances on: April 07, 2015, 12:13:03 AM
Lent 0.1 btc, the guy did not repay a penny ...
Its always bad when that type of thigs happens but the sites statistics is improving over time, back in 2013 it was really bad, during 2014 the avg repayment rate improved a lot and hopefully it will become even better in 2015.
Last time i checked the repayment rate throu all time is up to 75.98% of all loans and is climbing. For loans taken out recent months it has been in the regions of something like 85-90%.

I wouldn't call that improving. %75.98 means every 1 debt in 4 loans isn't paid. That's serious stats for lenders. Too much verification process but still %25 fail rate. They need to decrease it to %1-2 if they want to provide sustainable service. I don't recommend this site at all.
5378  Economy / Economics / Re: Cyprus lifts all capital controls on: April 07, 2015, 12:07:18 AM
I got money in Cyprus bank but it's in North Cyprus. There's also the biggest Btc Exchange in Turkey which is registered in Cyprus.
I would never use South Cyprus banks even they lift capital controls though. If I want my income to remain anonymous about my fiat money I prefer Swiss banks.
I remember economic crisis helped Bitcoin's peak in April 2013. There were so much drama in Bitcointalk about frozen bank accounts. Tough days for some people. It's good that it's over now.
5379  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCjam - Any Thoughts or Experiances on: April 06, 2015, 11:42:55 PM
I know a guy in my neighborhood that bought a lot of fake id's from deepweb and then faking photos with id's in photoshop. BtcJam approved them memberships and then he fraud from 5 different accounts. Nobody catch him, now he is in a foreign country. I heard he did this multiple times and scam a lot of money. That's why I don't use BtcJam anymore, they do absolutely nothing about scams.
5380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao - Who are you taking? on: April 06, 2015, 02:52:04 PM
I put my money on Floyd Mayweather. I'm pretty sure Weatherman will kick Manny's a$$. I bet it in DirectBet for straight win from 1.51 odds. 26 days left, I think odds will decrease from Mayweather's side. If you bet at last day you probably see under 1.45 odds for him.
