5361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tether the Best Stable Coin on: March 22, 2021, 12:00:28 PM
Know that tether is now beyond bitcoin omini layer, tether is now also built on some other blockchains such as:

1. Omini layer that you mentioned, bitcoin blockchain
2. On ethereum blockchain, ERC2
3. On Tron blockchain, TRC20
4. Solana also support tether recently.

But there are many other good stable coins, and there are many better ones to come.

1. Dai
2. USDC
3. TUSD

And some others are safe to use also.

5363  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betnomi.com - Crypto Centric Sportsbook and Casino - Biggest Jackpots on: March 22, 2021, 08:00:01 AM
Gambling sites have powerful machine and technique to detect cheaters. Do you really believe a gambling site that gives you provably fair games can not detect cheaters?
To my best knowledge, some cheaters may not be smart enough, but some are smart while some are double smart, if verification like using ID cards or other such is not used, it will be very difficult or impossible for this to be effective.

Minimum rank and minimum earned merits in last 120 days.
This is a good idea.
5364  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betnomi.com - Crypto Centric Sportsbook and Casino - Biggest Jackpots on: March 22, 2021, 12:57:35 AM
I agree that verification is used to prevent fake account and scam. But verification step for Betnomi, It would be better if Betnomi could just verify it in batch by using our IP address as verification because no matter how good the abuser , there is no way he could have 30 unique IP address. I hope I can participate in freebet competitions again.  Because few weeks ago, I made it to the top 20 and wanted to come back.
It depends, if Betnomi is VPN-resistant it can work a little but not yet fully. Paid VPN can make users connect to over 100 IP addresses from different countries and within country IP addresses. There are some countries you can have more than one sim too, some people can have more than 3, 4 or 5 sim cards. This will not work or totally be effective in my opinion. Although IP can be included but other verification requirements are needed.
5365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hal Finney's Bitcoin and me podcast on Coindesk on: March 22, 2021, 12:24:08 AM
One inaccurate detail from the podcast
Quote
A reading of a touching BitcoinTalk post by the late Hal Finney, from exactly eight years ago.
The topic was written on March 19, 2013, 08:40:02 PM, not on March 21, 2013 and last edit on 25 March, 2013. Anyway, it is a small inaccuracy.

The podcast is short, only 8 minutes so go listening it.
Everything there are accurate, you really need to listen to the begining of the podcast (the introductory part) as March 19, 2013 was clearly stated.

'the excellent document on bitcoin account on Friday share the post of Hal for March 19 in 2013, eight years ago exactly. The post is called bitcoin and me'...

It was published on coindesk on Sunday, which makes it accurate, nothing is inaccurate there but you just get it wrongly.
5366  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sportsbet.io - Official betting partner of ARSENAL FC on: March 21, 2021, 07:56:52 PM
Sportsbet.io’s very own Southampton FC into the FA Cup semi finals along with Man City, Leicester & Chelsea. I’d love Southampton to win it, would be huge for them. Good they play Leicester in the semis which keeps them away from Man City until a potential final.
That would be nice to be sincere, it is all we wish for Southampton, but the game is more now scary as strong EPL clubs remain, what makes me fear more is Leicester that can not be underestimated this time around, I was surprised with how Man United was defeated by them, while either Chelsea and Man City are also another problem. Nothing is impossible, but Southampton needs extra efforts.

I like to analyse matches to also predict, I went into the EPL this season history just not long, Leicester only lost ones in the last five matches, while in the third position, they are just playing good to be sincere. Southampton won only one match in the last five games and in the fourteenth position. Although Southampton will have more potential to play so it can win FA cup, but Leicester seem more stronger, that is why I said Southampton needs more effort to do this.
5367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2020/2021 on: March 21, 2021, 09:06:17 AM
Premier League result:

Brighton and Hove Albion 3-0 Newcastle United

This victory gives Brighton space to move a little away from the relegation zone and push Newcastle towards a fight for survival against Fulham.
That is correct, Brighton is now 4 points aways  from New Castle, but they really need to tighten their belt and play harder for not to relegate. West Bromwich and Sheffield United will certainly relegate. But Fulham and Newcastle will still compete with Brighton as they are some points closers.

5368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2020/2021 on: March 20, 2021, 07:18:25 PM
I've said it several times that the top 3 relegation clubs are Sheffield United, Fulham, and Westbrom and there's no big deal about it. These teams are totally poor and don't deserve to be in the EPL, they are championship materials.
I am not that perfect in selecting such teams, but I have just analysed it, you are right that these three teams can likely be relegated, but Newcastle should not be left out, it is still among the clubs struggling not to be relegated after only 10 matches or less that remains.

Brighton 0-1 Newcastle
Although any club can win this game, but I go more for Brighton or draw, they have being a great loser since but Newcastle game is not also certain as they drew more than win in their previous games.

FA Cup
Everton and Man City have been battling no-goal match since the start, but Ilkay Gundogan scored at 84 minutes, the match is at 89th minutes now, this means Man City will win this match.
5369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bep20 token sent to ERC20 address. Can recover? on: March 20, 2021, 06:53:36 PM
When coinbase agree to support the bep20 token, users will be able to recover their asset. I agree many user error in this are not tolerated by the service. This is a common mistake of cryptocurrency users and they have approved of it.
This is a very common mistakes by users that know little about cryptocurrencies, also ERC20, BEP2 and BSC supported on the same wallet make things more complex and difficult to understand by newbies, I even made the mistake sometimes in February 2020 but I was able to recover mine because I use a noncustodial wallet that I have its private key. This is one of the reason exchanges and custodial wallets should not be used, because using noncustodial wallet will guarantee the full recovery of the token.
5370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bep20 token sent to ERC20 address. Can recover? on: March 20, 2021, 04:52:03 PM
Unfortunately, Coinbase didn't support an error like this and it might be lost forever because they had different networks, the ERC20 under Ethereum network and the Bep20 under the Binance Smart Chain network.

The same thread on the other forum and this was the reply of Coinbase support.
Because BEP-2 is a Binance Chain standard
we are unable to support it.

While we cannot recover funds sent to Coinbase using BEP-2 at this time, if Coinbase ever decides to add the BEP network to our platform, please let us know then so we can see if the funds would be recoverable at that time.
BEP2 is not BEP20, for BEP20, it is compatible with both BEP2 and ERC20. The coin is not lost, he should contact coinbase customer care. If assuming a noncustodial wallet is used, it will be easy to recover back the token.

https://academy.binance.com/en/glossary/bep-20?amp=1
BEP-20 is a token standard on Binance Smart Chain that extends ERC-20, the most common Ethereum token standard. You can think of it as a blueprint for tokens that defines how they can be spent, who can spend them, and other rules for their usage. Due to its similarity to Binance Chain’s BEP-2 and Ethereum’s ERC-20, it’s compatible with both.

I do not think Roger Ver is trying to be a good man, all he wanted is for a coin called bitcoin cash to fork out of bitcoin, trying all his best to make sure it surpass bitcoin, so people will call it bitcoin while bitcoin will not be known as the real bitcoin again, but his plans did not just work, he got not option again than to just change his lies because his planes did not work.

5373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Digibyte extremely undervalued? on: March 20, 2021, 08:19:58 AM
Digibyte is the cryptocurrency you've probably never heard of. It's been "on the scene" since 2014, delivering innovation in every way. The project has been the pioneer of "DigiShield" which is a difficult retargeting algorithm used by some altcoins on the market today. The DGB blockchain is secured by multiple PoW algorithms making it extremely resistant against 51% attacks. A block time of 15 seconds makes quick and cheap transfers widely possible.

Despite the project's achievements over the years, the DGB cryptocurrency is still worth cents on the market. A coin like this should've been worth at least $1 by now. Given all of the features DGB provides on top of most other cryptocurrencies on the market, I'd say that it's extremely undervalued. If a worthless coin like DOGE hit the moon, then DGB could do better. Don't you think?

What are your thoughts? Huh
You can not compare Doge to Digibyte, Digibyte CEO does not find ways to make it possible for major exchanges to support the coin, it is a good coin with strong blockchain and almost instant transaction clearance time, but not listed on major exchanges, I may not be totally right, but I did not see it on Binance, I used HBTC recently and I did not see it. But we should not still underestimate the coin as even last year to this time, the coin had risen over 20x but listing it on major exchnge will help the coin to see more price surge.
5374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best strategy on: March 19, 2021, 02:28:58 PM
Would like to know what is the best strategy when using the slots games. Or maybe some good number spreads on the dice game. Any and all advice or inputs are welcome. For I am new to the game in any advice is helpful thank you and good luck.
I will like you to know that after knowing all the strategies, you need to not forget one main and most important strategy, that you should not risk what you can not afford to lose, and also doing it as something pleasurable, do not think there is any professional strategy you can use to turn small amount into millions, just play safely in a way you will enjoy playing it and never be addicted but for fun.
5375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter hackers pleads guilty and agree to a 3 year in prison on: March 19, 2021, 10:28:53 AM
There is nothing bad for 3 years jail term, it is not bad at all if truly found guilty, has he confirmed it true, then 3 years is good. But this does not stop other scammers and criminal hackers from doing their work to exploit money from people, this is what we should concentrate on, to never trust anyone online, use 2fa to protect our social media accounts, having the 2fa hardware or having the software on a different device, this will be enough to protect us from such hackers while we should all the time also think of other possible means to protect ourselves from online hackers and scammers generally.
5376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit vs Legacy, fees? on: March 19, 2021, 08:56:48 AM
Segwit addresses cannot sign messages. This is one of cons pointed out ranochigo.

Well, it can sign messages, but there is no standard to recognize it. In practice, you cannot sign  a message from segwit addresses which will be recognized by all software.

But you can with Legacy. A message signed from a legacy address will be recognized everywhere.
I do not think this is an issue if there are lot of software to sign segwit message, any wallet that support segwit and that can verify message will verify segwit message, I have used electrum and coinomi for this before, there are still some wallets like that, I will soon try the one on mycelium, and I believed it will be able to verify segwit messages.

If they don't support P2SH addresses, then it's probably poor implementation and I would rather people not support them. P2SH has been around since 2012, which is probably earlier than what most services were established.

Withdrawal fees are usually the same for all address types when using exchange. The problem arises when you're trying to spend it. No matter what happens, you're going to have to spend more when you're spending your Bitcoins. As most wallets only support generating one of the three address type in the a single wallet, it's entirely possible that the user will end up never using Segwit addresses.
You are right, but what I can say here is that it is not good for exchange not to support segwit, like Binance, it does not support P2SH, Binance was only supoorting legacy before but in 2020 it started to support bc1 addreses which I think it is enough. But I get the point for exchanges to support P2SH also, but I do not know the reason why exchanges are not just flexible like wallets when it comes to address types.
5377  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Benefit of Schnorr signature on: March 18, 2021, 06:53:58 PM
...
Thanks for the fast response, I noticed Taproot will make use of fee almost similar to segwit (bc1) but slightly higher, if multisig transactions can use it, this will create means for people to use segwit with low fee paid for transactions, this is a great thing as it is amazing.
5378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit vs Legacy, fees? on: March 18, 2021, 06:42:57 PM
Transactions with Segwit addresses can help you to save fees. You need to check platforms you are using that they support Segwit or not support it.

You can use your Legacy or Segwit address to send your bitcoin to any type of address.
If you want to withdraw your bitcoin from exchange to a Segwit address, the requirement is that exchange support Segwit for withdrawals.
Supporting P2SH (which they obviously should) is probably sufficient. Using nested Segwit will allow for still a significant savings as compared to legacy addresses.
You can send from one address to another, if you want to send to segwit from exchanges, it is possible irrespective of the bitcoin address you are using. There are some exchanges that only support legacy addresses, there are some that only support only compatible (3) addresses, there are some that support segwit (bc1) addresses, but segwit or legacy, the withdrawal fee are constant on exchanges. I will still also prefer segwit (bc1) addresses than compatible (3) addresees on wallets because of low fee.
5379  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Benefit of Schnorr signature on: March 18, 2021, 06:21:28 PM
I have been going through what Taproot is for a while now, it is the ungrade which is having approaches from bitcoin communities about how it will be successfully activated this year, probably the activation will be in November if speedy trial is supported and signalled by majority of miners. I do not know much about the activation and how it will be activated, but I want to know the benefit of Taproot and Schnorr signature.

1.  Will Schnorr signature nullifies the threat of quantum computing?
2. How are transactions going to be, will bitcoin users be able to create a multisig transaction with it and with low fee paid?
3. Is Schnorr signature part of elliptic curve cryptography or another aspect entirely?
5380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit vs Legacy, fees? on: March 18, 2021, 03:14:13 PM
Confused, should I go segwit for seemingly lower fees?
It is good to go for segwit than wasting more btc on transaction fee, you can reduce money on fee significantly if you use segwit. There is a topic in beginners and help that can help you know more about the fee paid which is low in segwit.

Why do you need both segwit and legacy addresses? Before you make your decision, you will pay more fee why using legacy address for payment.

Legacy have the high transaction fee
Nested segwit (3-prefix addresses) can reduce the fee up to 26%
Native segwit (bc1- prefix addresses)  can reduce the fee up to 42%

Also know that you can transfer bitcoin to any of the addresses, you can transfer from segwit to legacy or from legacy to segwit. But using segwit will safe you fee while making Bitcoin transactions. The reason best for you to just send your bitcoin to native segwit addresses.

Just a small correction:
Using native segwit addresses, the transaction fee can be decreased even by more than 42%.

The transaction fee is decreased by 26% when there are 1 P2SH input and 2 outputs.
The transaction fee is decreased by 42% when there are 1 bech32 input and 1 output.

For example, size of a transaction including 10 bech32 inputs and 1 output would be about 722 vbytes and 1524 bytes. That's more than 52% reduce in transaction fee.

The best you can reach is around a 54% reduction. A P2PKH input is 148 vbytes, while a P2WPKH input is 68 vbytes, for a difference of 80 vbytes. 80/148 = 0.54. There are of course other differences between the size of outputs and the size of the transaction header, but these are very small compared to the size of inputs.

You shouldn't move your coins now to a Segwit address. There is no need. You are going to pay fees now, to pay less fees in the future? It is not worth, imo.
It depends on the amount, he can decide to transfer 0.01 btc and make more than 10 transactions from it.
