5361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT hype is over, next hype please on: June 19, 2021, 06:59:09 PM
These NFTs collapsing are shitcoins. Hypes around altcoins like that are known for not lasting long and causing a lot of losses for investors. But I think we can't say NFT as a whole is over for that reason. There are many promising NFTs around and I would say the best NFTs weren't even created or launched yet, because it's a very recent phenom.
It will be a huge success when mainstream gaming industry adopt NFT technology and it will work in a sustainable way, not being necessary to rely in ephemeral hypes to thrive, like bitcoin.
5362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the martingale system sucks! (doubling down on losses) on: June 19, 2021, 05:49:36 PM
Doubling your bet to recover your losses sometimes works, but it should not be a martingale strategy as you'll not gonna stop betting if until you win or you lose your entire bankroll. Doubling your bet is best applied in games like sports betting, you can see the situation, especially in big games, so you'll never gonna have a long losing streak.

The formula here is simple, don't bet blindly but applied the right bankroll management, doubling your bet, don't use the complete martingale strategy.
It's popular because many are aware of the strategy but after trying it, everyone has their own story how it helped them and as well gave them a lot of losses.
That's not the only strategy to recover your losses. Like if you loss for the day, you can gamble again tomorrow and recover gradually or just forget about your past losses and focus on the new wins that shall come.
Does it mean a half-martingale strategy is the best method to gamble? So you still double your bet on loss, but don't go by the end of your bankroll, always preserving some money in your balance, being possible to come back to play again after some time to recover that initial loss or at least decrease the loss the maximum as possible, through sports betting, for an example.
5363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the martingale system sucks! (doubling down on losses) on: June 18, 2021, 09:15:42 PM
I would like to know from gamblers what they do instead of doubling the bet on loss, since martingale is so horrible. If you don't raise your bet after a loss, you are never going to make any profit from gambling. That is my perception on this matter. For this reason people use martingale, because they want to have a chance to make profit at least on short run.

If there were better ways to gamble, would martingale be so popular?
5364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to Poker on: June 18, 2021, 04:57:38 PM
I think a possibility would be to play a PvP online game like Counter Strike and bet money on it. It could work with any game, but Counter Strike is a popular one and there are already platforms which allow you to bet in yourself while playing against other players.

I have seen this information on the forum weeks ago, but I can't remember the site mentioned right now.
If you don't like CS: GO, but are enthusiast of another online game, check if it's possible to play it against other players for real money prizes.
5365  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: June 18, 2021, 03:30:30 PM
There is no direct correlation between corruption and poverty.
Maybe you are right, but as long as the government cares enough about all level of its people, the poverty rate is much less. There are still many other factor that may make poverty on this earth ineradicable and very difficult to perfect. Employment, knowledge, education are some of the factor I mean.
From my experience poverty and corruption are totally related. Corruption means someone is having inadequate advantage over others. It's a relation of abuse of an individual towards other, and although those on the top of the society's pyramid can also be the abused ones, it's more likely they are the abusers, because in corrupt societies people must corrupt themselves to achieve wealthy status.
While those who don't participate such schemes will be put aside from the society, being hard to thrive and becoming doomed to the poverty, if relying only on the local community or country to have opportunities. It happens in private and public sectors.
5366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Axie Infinity on: June 18, 2021, 12:38:45 AM
I've been seeing and hearing this game NFT games this month and it is really popular and hot in our country right now many people are applying for some scholarships and the majority of these applicants doest even have knowledge on blockchain, cryptocurrency, etc.   So cut this short you need to invest to be able to earn on this app, Minimum I think a thousand dollars plus the fees. I have been planning if I should invest in Axie Infinity, Is it profitable? Any thoughts or recommendations, Or Members who are active players?
You can have your first team for only $600 but if you want a decent one then you have to invest more. It is profitable if you have patience playing the game, that can be a sure profit since it’s a play to earn system. Give at least 2 months and you can have your capital back, and continue earning. I’m not that active but a lot of my friends are playing this NFT game, they enjoying it.
Yes, cheap axies are useless to play and make money later. Those willing to start with this game must choose their axies carefully and will have to spend extra money to do so. That is because in order to earn Smooth Love Potions (the NFT you sell for real money), you need to win fights against other players and the game's mobs. And with weak axies you won't defeat any players, since they have professional strong teams and it will be very difficult to progress in adventure mode, that is the mode where you fight against game's mobs.

You need to pick a good strategy. I'm not a pro and I don't like that style of game very much, but what I did was to pick 2 tankers and 1 high damage axie to compose my team. I can win some games against other players and advance enough in adventure mode to guarantee my 100 daily SLPs relatively fast.

Another point to have in mind when buying axies is the number of times they have already bred. An axie can breed up to 7 times, and each new breed makes the next one more expensive. So it's a good idea to buy virgin axies.
5367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There's no lottery ticket in Bitcoin, it's a savings account on: June 17, 2021, 09:56:04 PM
Currently I'm trying to put most money as possible in bitcoin to avoid fiat because I'm really fearful about the global economy situation after pandemic. Before it wasn't good already, but due to the pandemic the emission of paper money increased considerably and we are going to see its consequences on the next years. So better if you have your funds protected far away from the traditional economy currencies.
For this reason bitcoin became not only a saving account, but also my main account. If I could I would use only it as currency in a daily basis. Unfortunatelly it's not possible, being still necessary to make use of fiat for most purchases and payments.
5368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the motive behind the anti gambling campaign on: June 17, 2021, 08:31:48 PM
is it intended to deprive people like me of opportunities to make money.

I don't think so, you have little chances to make money from gambling and it will take some time before you can set up a method or your own strategy so you can win, the anti-gambling sentiments are from people who are once compulsive gamblers or had one of their family members, it is to warn people not to consume all their times and money to gambling and not to be deceived that you can make money in gambling.
But instead of being anti gambling why not make a information drive for how to handle gambling instead of telling them not to play because it is human nature that we love to do those things that is prohibited.
so not to ban gambling but to educate people instead.
and for me this is the best way to engage on this problems.
Maybe that is because people can forget about how to handle gambling and once they forget, they will hard to realize that they are like playing gambling and in the end, they can become addicted to gambling. If that happens, that will be too late to stop gambling, although that will not be impossible, especially if they can try hard to stop gambling.

The chance to win in gambling will not too big than losing the money. Gamblers should know about that and not trying hard to winning the games. Playing gambling with fun and not think about winning is what they need to do.
Or maybe because people like to blame others for mistakes they or their relatives are responsible for. Instead of taking the responsability for the addiction, they prefer to say the gambling industry and the society are guilty for that. Furthermore, instead of trying to overcome this personal addiction in their lives, they pretend the solution to be anti-gambling propagandas to achieve a total ban of gambling activity in the world.
It makes me believe anti-gambling campaigns are vengeance tools used by people who don't know how to handle with gambling in a healthy way, so no one else can have some fun playing as well.
5369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling tax proposal in Ukraine on: June 17, 2021, 05:20:38 PM
Nothing to be shocked and heck 10% is something reasonable compare into other states or countries which does have outrageous taxation percentage.

We cant tell on whats the reason on sudden change but with due common sense then its understandable that they would really be needing some add up
not only for sake of economy but also with that pandemic situation i presume.

Taxation is never been bad as long it would be handled out correctly. Bad news for those who do tempt to make a new business but actually its for the own good.

I do agree that 10% is considerably low as compared to other countries.
Just to get an idea where they are positioned at, in terms of gambling tax rate.

This article was only last year. So the rates may have not changed significantly as compared today.
As long as the government is putting those funds into good use, that would be fine.

https://i.imgur.com/9To1b3a.png
I don't see anything wrong with high taxes on gambling products. In this business, it's easy to earn money but very hard to establish as a casino. Easy money - easy (high) tax, no problem. Btw in Germany, people pay very high taxes on everything. Your net salary is roughly 58% of your gross salary, it still depends on your income, marriage status, etc. So, for Germany, it's as it should be.
Seems, this isn't the niche they want to develop. Btw Ukraine has very beautiful girls and it could be easy for them to make partnerships with Evolution or other b2b gaming service providers and open a massive number of studios. These kind of companies are really looking for beautiful girls, in Ukraine, they are a lot.
If the taxes are expensive, but the services you have access in retribution are decent I think there is nothing wrong in paying more. But actually it only works this way in West Europe, North America and few asian countries. All the rest are well known for precarious public services and high taxes at same time. So it's normal people from those countries become more skeptical about the use of tax money by the government, even more because there is a huge history of corruption on those countries. In Ukraine it is not different and probably that is why citizens become easily angry over their politicians and their proposals to take more money from the population.
5370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on Medieval MMA? on: June 17, 2021, 12:22:14 AM
But in this tournament even though the players are carrying real weapons but if they apply strict rules like wearing armor maybe as a safeguard, then I guess it's fine. Like boxing, if this sport doesn't have rules then it's obviously very dangerous, but when this physical contact sport is implemented with strict rules so as not to injure the opponent then I think it's still acceptable too.
I want to ask you a question, is not strict rules applied in boxing when Mike Tyson bite Holyfield twice?
Don't be like this, when the tournament has got the best of the contestant they can do something that's not reasonable and this is the reason I don't like this sport.
Yes, like in soccer when Suarez, uruguayan player, bit players from opponent teams on the shoulders and arm. It happened 3 times. Rules exist to punish players who go too far during a match. I didn't see such incidents happening in medieval modern combats yet, actually players are very polite and respect each other, asking the adversary if he is injured during the games sometimes.
But of course some players might be aggressive like in any other sport and once this happens, they will be surely punished accordingly. There are many judges/observers around to make sure the matches run smoother as possible.
5371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is gambling taxed? on: June 16, 2021, 09:05:48 PM
Every person must seek for information on his own country, because the rules aren't the same for all, but basically what I've seen is that you have to present all your gambling activity every year to the IRS of your country, and calculate the final profit (or loss) during this year period. In case of loss there is nothing to be paid (probably), but in case of winning, there will be a percentage to be paid (over the winnings amount only).

However, when the individual wins the government's lottery, for an example, the tax is already discounted from the total prize on the moment of the payment. In this case I don't know if the gambler has to pay another tax over this winnings in the end of the year too, what would mean a double taxation. Taxation subject is a tricky one, because there are many hidden details aiming to eat more money from the contributor's pocket and we usually only spot them when we are in a situation like that for real.
5372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are meme tokens dangerous or moon on: June 16, 2021, 08:11:06 PM
The problem with these coins is that in the end of the day the meme is you, the investor who was fooled into putting money in a currency that has no logical reason to have its demand and value raised. Memes aren't funny forever, and once people get tired of the joke, the currency's value is gone. Meme coin was a smart way to make stupid people lose money with crypto currency.
Investment is a serious thing and must be conducted with seriousness and responsability to prevent losing money deliberately.
5373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: General Motors May Start Accepting Bitcoin If There's Customer Demand on: June 16, 2021, 07:10:48 PM
If I were a whale I would buy a car with my bitcoins without any problems. Or should I convert btc to fiat first and pay extra for the transactions and comissions' fees?
Not all bitcoin enthusiasts are average or poor people expecting the currency will go to the moon to change their lives, so they can finally start using the money. There are also rich adopters who use bitcoin as currency often and don't bother spending it to acquire wealthy goods like cars. If General Motors said they may start accepting btc, it's because they see potential customer's demand in the market.
5374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Netflix's Money, Explained: E04 Gambling on: June 16, 2021, 06:18:33 PM
My take:

I am aware that the argument about day trading as gambling or not has been discussed often before and it could be tiring to prove a particular point due to its subjective nature. One could say that day trading is a combination of little to non T. A and pure luck, others would say that day trading could never equate to gambling since the ability to read charts and proper risk management would decrease the percentage of getting rekt.

It will just result in a never-ending comparison.
In my opinion day trading is gambling and of course it relies in pure luck, since it's a fact the market is unpredictable on short run, being very similar to binary options, which is gambling as well. Furthermore I could compare the transaction's fees or exchange's taxes to the house edge of the casinos and the youtubers selling methods, strategies and courses to teach daily trading are comparable to the youtubers streaming online sessions of gambling, seeking for referrals. As crypto currency becomes more popular I see more and more cases of people complaining about the daily trading scam. It has already became news in one of the most watched programs of a national television channel recently.
5375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does implementing a tax on a gambling platform really help a country? on: June 16, 2021, 04:53:39 PM
The most useful help through gambling for a country would be if common citizens were allowed to invest in bankroll of casinos to earn with the house. This way, benefits would be superior to any other achieved by taxes imposed by the government, because each citizen would see direct advantage on it, as there would be a constant extra income landing on their personal accounts from times to times, very different from indirect advantages we don't always see on practice when the government charges the tax and apply it somewhere we don't even know exactly. Worse yet, but not rare, when this money is stolen by authorities.
5376  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation expected as high as 4% in Apr in USA on: June 16, 2021, 03:02:42 AM
Not sure how they did this 4 percent prediction, because I expect it even much more than this. As I can see, the inflation rate is rising each year and government tries promises to control it and they will usually try to decrease the rate by unfortunately using federal reserve dollars and printing too much money to increase the funds while they will make a bigger mistake by providing too much money supply which can be the reason for decreasing the value of dollar against gold and other assets.
That's the official one, things change individually a lot more. If you took college costs as the inflation rate in USA, there would be 10x and even more increases on average, if you took minimum wage then you would have nearly zero increase for the past 20 years.

Basically it all depends on what you take as your average, they put in this insanely complicated bunch of stuff and then they say it is 4% or less, but there are tons of stuff that got 5%+ more expensive. I am not American so I do not care about that, but in my nation it is said that we have about 7% in inflation whereas I can tell you that it is more than 30% very easily, it is drastic here, we are living a horrible period and I do not know what is going to happen if we keep this up. Long story short the 4% is official number and we may not consider that as the truth, it is just what they tell us but it is really not that low.
Yes, official numbers are useless. The daily life is what really matters. Prices in supermarket are spiking insanely in a monthly basis, if not weekly. If we count all these increasements it surpass the official inflation easily during one year period. It's a good moment to exchange funds into bitcoin, otherwise people will be losing money even if they have some kind of traditional investments, especially fixed income. Actually since last year the scenario looks really bad and from 2020 on I've been trying to have less money in fiat as possible. Only maintaining some fiat balance for daily expenses and that is all.
5377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sextortion - more than 4000 BTC cashed on: June 16, 2021, 01:20:07 AM
Sometimes these sexual extortionists don’t have anything about you, it’s just threats. That’s why you shouldn’t be replying any email that you know nothing about. If an email is coming an unknown sender it’s very best that you don’t reply such mails. And this is another reason why we should mind the kind life we live and avoid sending out images that we shouldn’t.

But like I said, when you get such mails from these sexual extortionists, it’s best not to reply , you can report to the police station and a lawyer. Like I said, most of these extortionists don’t have anything on you, they are just threatening you, and if you engage them, it gets worse.
Yes, it's indeed the best to do. However, the point is that although the threats are false, since there isn't any recorded content, it's a fact scammers use something many people really do in secret, being even considered common behavior among internet male users. Maybe the victims have families and feel really embarrassed when confronted with such threats that they don't think twice before sending the money to the scammers, also because they don't want too much attention that will be inevitably caused when calling the police or involving the law towards a sensible subject like this.
5378  Economy / Economics / Re: Bulgaria Government Shocked To Discover It Owns $3 Billion In Bitcoin on: June 15, 2021, 09:06:51 PM
Does anyone have more information what happened with this 213,519 Bitcoins and can someone identify exact addresses and transactions related with this?

In time when Bitcoin was seized from Bulgarian police it was worth around $500 million, and today that is worth more than $8,5 billion, that is more than a half of all national debt of Bulgaria ($15,5 billion according to worlddebtclocks.com)

I have seen posts claiming that Bulgaria is still holding those coins. But it needs to be confirmed. Unlike what happened when the FBI seized the coins from Ross Ulbricht (they auctioned it after a few months in 2015, for around $300 per coin), I haven't seen any news about the Bulgarian government auctioning these coins. So I would assume that they still have them. But I am surprised that there is hardly any media coverage on this. This is huge news! Because Bulgaria has essentially wiped out its national debt with the help of Bitcoins! If this news is publicized, then it will encourage other countries to hold Bitcoins in their forex reserves (albeit in small quantities).
I think it's now bulgarian citizens and their representatives' duty to ask the government formally about these bitcoins. That is a huge amount of money which can be very helpful for the country. It must be watched closely and the fate of this money decided wisely. Bulgaria is really smart to have been holding these coins, that creates a big differential between them and other countries regards crypto adoption.
5379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: another bullrun before 2021 ends on: June 15, 2021, 07:44:29 PM
Considering the recent adoption by El Salvador and the interest of some other countries' authorities, another bull run this year is possible yet. This kind of adoption is far more interesting than the institutional investors one, because it's actually the common people who are going to start using and holding bitcoin. So the money keeps spread in different hands, what difficults market manipulation and high volatility on long run.
About the next ATH it's hard to say, but I remember before this bear market started, people were expecting bitcoin to hit 100,000$ by the end of this year, so 80,000$ is a pretty interesting guess for now.
5380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Opinions according to the current market situation on: June 15, 2021, 04:38:38 AM
Try to see this boring market in a positive way. With cheap bitcoin you earn more coins working online. Although the online jobs pay too little, it's a good opportunity to collect pennies everywhere and exchange it into btc.
As soon as the bear season ends, you will see the benefits of doing this. Better to be most prepared as possible for the next bull run that is going to happen when it has to happen.
It's not possible to make any accurate predictions yet. That is why it's more interesting to work with crypto currency always thinking on long run.
