5361  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My top 7 exchanges for trading on: April 02, 2020, 10:51:39 AM
7 Top exchanges listed, but to be up to date OP should write that these 7 exchanges are centralized exchanges! This list would be complete with top decentralized exchanges too. We have many similar articles where people wrote and describe exchanges, so for me there's nothing new here, this is good for people who are new here, if they didn't read similar articles before.
To be up to date with crypto you should add that now people can exchange currencies in many ways, not just trough exchanges. I mentioned decentralized exchanges, there are wallets with in built exchange, and some other ways. To have a top article you should include all these ways, if possible to try all of them and give your opinion about all of them.

5363  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk SwC Championship Poker Series(50 mBtc added by SwC) on: April 01, 2020, 06:37:51 PM
I sent just 200 chips to Efi, my mistake, I forgot about Sunday tournament, I could send him 400, for both tournaments, I plan to play both! I play poker every day, last night I played with Efi, I will probably see him again and I will send him 200 chips more, it's not  a problem.

After 4 tournaments I played I can say we play top poker! Steamy, FOMA, Betwrong, HeresJohnny, CoinEraser, shipdachips, youcantwin, Trofo are just some names I noticed (Steamy is it one who got my attention more than others), definitely experienced players, every game with you guys is great, doesn't matter who won! We all trying to be wiser and better, but it's poker, and we all know that luck plays important role too!
I expect nothing less in this championship. Great games, great hands with top players! Who really like to play poker will join.

I told my wife that I play poker every weekend with you guys and I don't wish to be disturbed in that time! Yesterday I told here that we are having championship this month, two games every week! She's got a bit crazy about that at first, but I calm here down Wink, so I am free for playing!

PS: Efi thanks for merit, I didn't get some for years! Smiley Good game last night, at least for me. See you at the tables these days again.

5364  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the government understand? on: March 31, 2020, 03:39:27 PM
I do know that people engaged in cryptocurrencies are way ahead of the time, so do you guys think there is a way by which jobs can be provided to the needy because we all know that a vaccine is 12-18 months away .

I like how you said it, people engaged in crypto are way ahead of the time! This is true, we understand how crypto works, we understand how fiat works, we use both, and we know to make a difference between those two systems. Ordinary people don't know who print money, how money is being made and distribute, how can we expect from them to understand crypto when they don't understand fiat, fiat they use every day!

Crypto jobs! There is a job for everyone here in crypto, depending on your knowledge and skills that much you can earn, sky is the limit! Even for people who don't know much, they can click faucets, PTC sites and many other things! Point is that you can earn in crypto, more or less depends on you!
But, there is always some but, I have a friend who is in a big problem now! I am telling him for years that needs to start with crypto, but he doesn't have time to earn little and to learn more, so he can earn more, he want to earn a lot, and he wants that now! I'm afraid that many people think the same, they don't wish to make some effort and learn something, they just wish to earn a lot! But we here know that things don't work like that.
5365  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk SwC Championship Poker Series(50 mBtc added by SwC) on: March 31, 2020, 07:00:31 AM
We will play some good poker! Smiley
Everything sounds great! Good organization, I didn't doubt that Yahoo and Efi will pull this off, thank you guys for awesome organization!
I'm in, and I will try to play as many games as I can. Can we expect to play first tournament this Saturday?

Hi Guys and Gals.

If you were to set up a game on PokerTH.net I'd be interested in joining.  I'm trying to limit the number of sites that I sign up for that I use infrequently, otherwise I'd sign up for yet another poker site.

First time I hear about PokerTH! I think that you don't know what you are missing here. There aren't many people in this, but I can tell you that most of us are poker players for years. It's something you can notice when you sit and play with some guys from here, experienced players no doubt, you need to be focused and give your best every hand.

You will not sign up for yet another poker site! You will register to play with us, to have great time playing good poker, and as you can see we will have series now, so we will play two games every week and people with enough points will play final monthly table!
5366  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we heading towards Recession? on: March 30, 2020, 04:58:18 PM
We are heading to uncharted waters, something like this never happened before. Recession is possible, industry didn't stop working, but everything else is closed, some companies are losing money, some people are without income, some governments decided to print billions of dollars to help fallen industry and private sectors. What we can expect after all this nobody can tell, as I notice nobody can tell when will it end in the first place, in month or two or it will last longer?
There are many predictions about what we can expect, in one thing I am sure, there will be some changes, world will have to change and adapt, how that will happen we will see.
5367  Economy / Gambling / Re: 3/29: Bitcointalk Private Poker Tournament #5 @ Sportsbet.io - 40 mBTC GTD Prize on: March 30, 2020, 07:56:14 AM

I had 2 real good get there's I remember I think they may have both been with 77 the one was against Iv4n who had JJ.

<....>
That was an epic comeback for Steamtyme, GG!

I remember the first tournament I played, it was the same finale, Steamytime, Betwrong and me. Steamytime was last, and like now he survived two all ins: 1. I had AQ he had KJ, I think we saw K, and he won. 2. I had AK he was 55, he won again, make comeback and won the tournament.

This time was the same, JJ against his 77, and all the way to the last card he got straight! Smiley Unbeliavble!

Congrats Steamytime and Betwrong on one more awesome game! See you next time!

This is nice offer, but many of us still play first tournament and I will not play two in the same time, I don't like doing that. You should wait this one to end and then start next one! Smiley
Final table is here! We will play for hour and more probably! Smiley

5369  Economy / Gambling / Re: 3/29: Bitcointalk Private Poker Tournament #5 @ Sportsbet.io - 40 mBTC GTD Prize on: March 29, 2020, 10:34:12 AM
Come on! 3 more to go  Smiley please

btw, I'm Bdaddy on the table this afternoon (I haven't chose this nickname, are they randomly set by the system?)

I am 13! Lucky number or not? Smiley I think there will be 2 more in next few hours.

I decided to change my strategy! After 3 tournaments and 3 times 3 place I decided to drink wine instead of beer this evening! I wish luck to all, and like always I believe we will have a great game again!
5370  Economy / Economics / Re: How long this crisis will be? on: March 28, 2020, 09:34:35 AM
Take 18 Months minimum for the approval and distribution of a vaccine .

Then take further 1 year for things to be normal , way way normal like they were before , when you could roam around without any problems

It is not stopping in few months for sure . Technically then also people who are infected will need time to recover again, this is highly infectious and people can be reinfected is the problem.

It's just a part with a vaccine for this virus now, who can guarantee there will not be some new virus in near future? Probably nobody!
We are in dark, many people don't realize that. Of course there are news everywhere around, a good deal of news and theories, but nobody knows what really happened, is it some virus from nature, or someone made that virus, and what the fuck governments do with closing everything and printing money for bailing out big companies again. I agree with you, we will not see the end of this storm any time soon, it will just change a shape, that's it. Now everything and everyone is focused on a virus, tomorrow it will be economy, and the day after tomorrow we will see some new big war or some new and more dangerous virus... and of course we will have a good deal of news with new theories again, but nobody will know what is the truth!
For this, and many other reasons, we need transparency, total transparency! And only thing that can give us that on a global stage is blockchain.
5371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not as risky as many think. on: March 28, 2020, 05:58:48 AM
It will be safe to say that Bitcoin was risky in 2010 during its teething days when a lot of people thought it was a scam but now we can only safely use the term "Volatility". Of course, every trader knows that Bitcoin is here to stay and this eliminates the "risk factor". What every trader needs do is look for a convenient low and then buy. Even if price goes up immediately after buying, don't panic. Price will one day cross your buy line. I know there were traders who bought at ATH and definitely are still hodling till date and waiting for price to go up back. Whereas there were altcoins bought at ATH but these altcoins have completely disappeared today.

In that time bitcoin was unknown, nobody could say that bitcoin will become what it is now and be 100% certain in that. Every beginning is hard, bitcoin made it to come here and gaining more popularity every year. I always thought that every person should try trading, at least to try, it's risky but it can be interesting and profitable if you figure it out. If that doesn't work just buy and hold, definitely crypto is not something anyone should miss. There's something for everyone, and there are so many ways to do something and make money, people just need to make some effort and try it!
5372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of cryptocurrency during this pandemic on: March 27, 2020, 10:52:47 AM
What do you expect them to be doing? Print more BTC or other coins and dash out out to the community? That's funny though. This period isn't good for anyone so many projects are in serious difficult moment too. Only expectation now is to trade and trade wisely.

Trade wisely is good advice for any time, not just now. For sure this is a difficult period for many, but old saying is what doesn't kill you will make you stronger. I think crypto will continue to be what it was until now, same old, but with printing more money fiat economy is going in wrong direction, why would crypto fallow that? Old era is coming to an end, it's time to go full digital! This huge crisis will turn people to crypto, here people know that crypto is future, it's time for the all others to understand that too.
5373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin was never meant to be a hedge against a Global Pandemic on: March 27, 2020, 09:15:49 AM
I believe in a normal Financial Crisis, Bitcoin would have fared better, but we are dealing with something that is being treated as much larger, which is a global pandemic. In 2008 people didn't hoard groceries, hoard supplies, get locked inside of their houses, have their livelihood shut down etc. This is not just a financial crisis, this is something different. There is real fear among many people that things will continue to get much worse and dangerous for a very long period of time. Bitcoin was never meant to be a hedge against a global pandemic. Gold is suffering the same fate as well, Gold is not a hedge against a Global Pandemic either. Once when the fear of the Global Pandemic absolves, Bitcoin will continue on its way toward what it is meant to achieve.

I believe the bigger the crisis, the better for Bitcoin. After bank-runs, bankruptcies, legacy financial markets closures, the honey badger don't care. Hedge well, and HODL.

I think the same, every crisis will lead people to crypto. It's pointless to discuss this crisis, manipulations, control imposing, simply said this it's not fair! It's not fair for 70%, or more, world population. Most people don't have a choice really. Here is where blockchain gets in, it offers alternative, more fair system, where information is in chain and can't be changed or manipulated with. Every man, or woman, disappointed in current system will join crypto.
5374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cryptocurrency price is coming back. on: March 26, 2020, 07:14:33 PM
Bitcoin recover their position and have chance to come back again but of course we also can't ignore halving because this will become the next problem.
How would halving become a problem?
I think majority of us are thinking halving is good as it will result to the increase of bitcoin's price.
The fact is that almost every cryptocurrency user expects the next halving, because they are confident that this event will bring improvements to the cryptocurrency market.  At least halving, 2013 and 2016 showed very good results, and I think this year will be the same situation.

I assume that problem can be with mining bitcoin, maybe some miners can shut down their mining rigs because of the rising difficulty, some will have to upgrade their miners if they wish to mine with the same speed, who knows what he really thinks when he say that we can expect problems with next halving, but miners are vulnerable group in that period for sure.
I think that this is not some special drop, normal volatility in crypto with sudden spikes and dips, and I am sure that this entire year will be the same. Bull runs and recovering previous ath prices can come only next year in my opinion.
5375  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk Poker Nights Discussion Thread (private games for btctalk members) on: March 26, 2020, 04:28:52 PM
40 mBTC granted! That sounds good, I will play definitely!
Minimum 15 people to start, I hope this granted prize will attract more people to come and play with us.

I like championships and points! Smiley I would like that to happen. And I agree with you Yahoo, SWC is more for my taste than Sportsbet, in the end SWC is a poker site.

See you at the tables!
5376  Economy / Economics / Re: Coronavirus is very harmful to fiat currencies, not bitcoin on: March 24, 2020, 09:36:03 AM
Have you seen how governments responded to the corona virus?

Quite simply, in Italy, the US and elsewhere, they will increase their budget deficit, and add debt. In my understanding, that's very bad for fiat currencies, while BTC will remain unaffected, thanks to the lockdown on money supply.

You're a bit ahead of our time, BTC will compete with fiat ''in real time'' once it is accepted for everyday purchases by most of the population, right now it competes with the gold and silver coins and penny stocks as cheap investment vehicles
It still needs more adoption and diffusion
Of course, if the ''big'' fiats -usd, euro- lost too much purchase power in covid's aftermath it will go up, but will take its time

He is not ahead of his time, you are. He is pointing a fact, governments are printing money like crazy in the last few weeks, and do you think they will stop anytime soon? So fiat supply is going up, more money than ever, while bitcoin and some other currencies can't do that, simply said they are printing unlimited amounts of money to buy limited amount of bitcoin, I think that say's all!
Corona is killing fiat economy, we will see what will happen after all this! Many businesses and people can't work, don't have any income, but you have to pay the bills.
5377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you use a trading Bot? on: March 23, 2020, 05:45:20 PM
I've never used a trading bot, and wouldn't trust it with my money. Too risky imho.

Do you know why bots are risky? There`re good bots, but set-ups ask for bankroll. You can't apply certain set-up with some low amount of money, most likely you will lose more than you will make money. I tried some free trading bots, but I didn't do well with them. I lost some money, luckily not much and I got back to traditional trading, that's better for me.
There are people who make profit with bots, but believe they have a nice bankroll and anyone who wish to use trading bot should be ready to invest significant amount, without it your trading bot will not make you profit.
5378  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk Poker Nights Discussion Thread (private games for btctalk members) on: March 23, 2020, 11:52:33 AM

the tourney went well. 16 players + 3 rebuys. @yahoo62278 took down the tourney and the side bet. i liked having the rebuy option. i didn't end up using it but it was nice knowing it was there.

Definitely a good game! Yahoo was on the fire, congrats on the win!
Game 3, third place again! I should get some reward for that! Smiley

Finally, I have now also 1 krill on SwC and can chat next time. Has it been decided whether we'll play again next sunday?   Smiley

I am up for next Sunday again! Smiley I hope we will play, if others can! As I said I think this should become a weekly thing!
5379  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk Poker Nights Discussion Thread (private games for btctalk members) on: March 22, 2020, 04:02:11 PM

5380  Economy / Economics / Re: The Corona Pandemic economic guessing game on: March 22, 2020, 08:47:52 AM
Which country's government will be the most affected by the COVID-19 global pandemic, and be the first to go bankrupt, and default?

It's a guessing game, so I will choose Italy! They were in problems before this, for years they are on edge with their economy. They are pretty badly hit by virus, some news about them is that they can bury all the people who have died. If EU don't help with some huge financial assistance package they will be in huge problems.

Another question, would some of the other countries of the European Union start proposing their own "Brexits"? Which country will propose to leave next after the UK?

Same answer, Italy! If they don't get financial, and all other kind of aid, they will probably leave EU. They are on the edge for years, this is the situation that can easily push them over that edge!
