5361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase to Allow US Users to Deposit Paychecks Directly in Crypto. on: September 28, 2021, 06:09:31 AM
It's really not that much more work to put my check into a bank and then ACH it to coinbase.

If you think about it, it really isn't that much work to use a non-custodial wallet and write down the 12-24 words on a piece of paper too. But yet people still hold funds on exchanges. The power of convenience is something we frequently underestimate.
5362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cheapest Way To Withdraw From Binance? on: September 28, 2021, 06:04:23 AM
The thing about my situation is I don't really want to sell the altcoin that i have.  Its an ETH coin.  But since people say if i keep it and send it to my nano ledger... well im going to pay around 25 dollars the next time i want to move it to an exchange.  Is that accurate?  But my other concern is many of the exchanges I could trade this altcoin... im country restricted.  So wouldn't this be another reason to not with this altcoin?
You only need to pay for gas fees when moving ETH/ERC20 tokens from an ETH wallet to an exchange. Whereas fees range from $2 to around $20 depending on how congested the mempool is.

If you're country restricted, then you could simply use the likes of UniSwap and SushiSwap. Though expect exchange fees to be more expensive since we're talking about on-chain DEX exchanges here.

People also mention about just trading it all for BNB.  Well the first thing is BNB isn't stable like btc.  I mean... i rather have btc than bnb.  The other thing is where can I even sell bnb if im a us citizen but in a restricted state?  I cannot use Binance.com... nor binance.us due to the state where im from.  So would this be another reason to not hold BNB?   Or is this not an issue for people?  Like imagine you cannot sell a coin because the exchanges that allow you to trade it... you are country restricted.  What do you do then?
You can sell to other people in a peer-to-peer manner, but you'd have to find a buyer/seller that's actually not a scammer.

But seriously mate. If you really want BTC, then just pay for the freakin transaction fee LOL. You're honestly just better off paying the fee rather than wasting precious time thinking of what to do. You could've spent the time doing something productive instead, probably something that could earn you an easy $20 so you wouldn't have problems with the withdrawal fees. 🤷‍♂️
5363  Economy / Economics / Re: A genius or an idiot? on: September 27, 2021, 09:28:39 AM
Why are you reacting to daily price movements in the first place? Unless you're day trading, then you should be capitalizing off both price rises and price drops. If not, then why just wait til your investments appreciate in price? If you feel stupid if prices go down then you might not know what you're investing in, hence the lack in conviction.
5364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the price of dForce token is lower than 1inch? on: September 27, 2021, 09:21:48 AM
Pretty simple— because people value 1inch's token more compared to dForce's token. What decides the price of a certain asset is supply and demand. Demand being a huge contributing factor because the supply doesn't matter much if there's no demand. You could have a token that has a really low supply of 100 but if no one wants it, then it will still be worth pennies(or literally nothing).
5365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cheapest Way To Withdraw From Binance? on: September 27, 2021, 09:18:11 AM
Again i have around 2000 dollars in altcoin right now and around 8 dollars in btc and 5 dollars in bnb in my binance account.  And i want to know the most cost effective way to withdraw it to my nano ledger.

Such as sell altcoin and bnb for btc and withdraw btc and pay that fee?  Or sell altcoin for btc.  Then sell all that btc for usdt/usdc and send that to nano ledger.
Mate I gave you the fees page. You can just compare, and just decide which coins you prefer holding. This is going to be more of a "which coin do you prefer holding" than a fee problem as you can clearly see all the fees on the page I provided.

Here is the other thing.  If i have usdt/usdc on the tron network... what if i cant sell that in the future?

I only have access to coinbase/gemini and apparently these two exchanges which has usdt/usdc only is on ETH chain?  So i cant in the future sell the usdt/usdc that is on the tron chain?
You can still send it back to an exchange in the future even on the Tron/BSC chain. It's just that most exchanges accept Ethereum blockchain only so you might have a bit of trouble finding good ones, but there are others if you look.
5366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cheapest Way To Withdraw From Binance? on: September 27, 2021, 05:57:11 AM
Then how could I withdraw it on the tron/bsb network then?

As far as I know Ledger also supports Tron and Binance Smart Chain, so you'd just need to do a bit of Googling and look for a guide on how to connect your Ledger to a Tron/BSC wallet.

^I really can't recommend both blockchain platforms as the Ethereum network is still the safest and much more reputable, but I guess you have no choice if you can't pay the hefty $25 withdrawal fee.
5367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cheapest Way To Withdraw From Binance? on: September 27, 2021, 05:32:50 AM
Look up Binance's[1] withdrawal fee list and check the withdrawal fees of the altcoins you're holding. If a certain altcoin of yours has a cheap withdrawal fee, it's probably best to convert your BTC to that altcoin and withdraw from there.

As with stablecoins, withdrawal fees are quite sizeable as well unless if you withdraw it through Tron/BSC(and not through the Ethereum network).

It really doesn't help that even mainstream media frequently has this misconception, further fueling the fire of mass misconceptions. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is the field that I know well enough to immediately realize how dumb a lot of writers or "journalists" are.
5369  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin a threat to China? Is China deliberately imposing sanction on BTC on: September 26, 2021, 11:20:20 PM
It's pretty simple — Bitcoin is freedom, and the Chinese communist party wants the total opposite of freedom. Need I say more? Not to mention that they seem to be about to release the digital yuan, which increases mass surveillance.
5370  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Buy/Sell Bitcointalk threads as NFT? on: September 26, 2021, 04:16:15 PM
this forum contains a lot of valuable threads, is there any way to sell them as NFT?

There are lots of great quality articles written and scattered across the web as well. Does it mean that we should create NFTs of them?

If you want, you can screenshot and just mint the NFT on Ethereum/Solana. But good luck actually getting people to pay for them lol.
5371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 【I am in China】About China 2021/09/24 FUD on: September 26, 2021, 03:29:32 PM
DEX is the way for those countries banning Bitcoin, take a look of Bisq and hodlhodl. Have you completed KYC on centralized exchange you using it before? you need to use Bitcoin mixer to hide your tainted coins, so you couldn't get traced.

Seems to be a solution; but honestly if I was in China, I probably wouldn't risk it. If the usage of non-custodial platforms gets enough publicity, I wouldn't be surprised if the Chinese government would commit entrapment by pretending to be a bitcoin seller or something.
5372  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance and Coinbase on: September 26, 2021, 02:47:34 PM
What do you think this site is and why was it created?

Assuming this site isn't actually yours that you made a post about to low-key advertise it, why even ask "what the site is" if you can literally open it yourself? Not to mention that the topic is all in the domain already, I didn't even need to click on it.
5373  Other / Meta / Re: What is the main reason you don't come to this website more often? on: September 26, 2021, 02:43:59 PM
Reading on Bitcointalk is actually really decent in my opinion, as well as making responses in some cases. What sucks, is when you want to reply to multiple responses; then it all comes to sh*t.
5374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Challenge with small investment in bitcoin on: September 26, 2021, 11:42:28 AM
Not gonna lie this was my excuse before I made my mind up and adjusted to whatever led me to this point.

...

Really cant blame anyone to initially have this way of thinking because almost every beginner will probably go through the same thoughts. The real problem arises when the person totally ignores the asset completely just because of it, while refusing to educate him/herself further and immediately realize this really flawed way of thinking.
5375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Challenge with small investment in bitcoin on: September 26, 2021, 10:25:30 AM
Best of luck. The "can't buy a whole coin" excuse is nonsense in the first place.

1. You don't need one full bitcoin, like you don't need one full gold bar.
2. You don't need to buy one full bitcoin in one go, you can get there slowly by dollar-cost averaging (like what you're doing right now)
5376  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance NonVerified Account? on: September 26, 2021, 05:41:46 AM
You Can’t withdraw from a biance account without KYC authentication, but u can sell it for cash.

Binance's quite-recent article about this says otherwise. It's actually the exact opposite lol; as you can't even sell for cash without KYC to start with.

5377  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance NonVerified Account? on: September 26, 2021, 05:07:11 AM
I never submitted any form of verification.  What is basic verification step one?
The verification needed for you to be able to continue to trade requires a valid ID. So, passports, drivers license, those things.

The other thing is this.  I have a few altcoins and some btc.  Do you suggest i trade those altcoins for btc or stablecoin?  The thing is for btc... i have very little there... i dont think i even cover the btc withdraw fee?  So what do i do there then?
If your BTC can't even cover the withdrawal fee, then I guess you have no choice but to convert it to other assets.

The other altcoins, i have a decent amount at least for me but it would take me two or three withdraws though with the 0.06 btc withdraw limit.
Better start as early as possible, as you shouldn't be leaving funds on exchanges in the first place unless you actively trade.

Also, please grab a Ledger or a Trezor.
5378  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [2021-09-23] Robinhood will start testing crypto wallets next month on: September 26, 2021, 04:22:28 AM
I expected Robinhood to have crypto trading, but definitely didn't expect them to have crypto deposits and withdrawals right off the bat.

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if Robinhood's venture into crypto pumped DOGE back to it's previous highs. WallStreetBets is a meme group, but people are probably underestimating how much combined capital that group has.
5379  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will FTX be New Binance in Next Bull Run of 2025? on: September 26, 2021, 03:32:08 AM
I'm not betting on it, but if there was an exchange to dethrone Binance, it'd be FTX. They just need to seriously fix the kinda-clunky UI. It just looks so out of date. But besides the UI? The exchange is GREAT. Not to mention the free withdrawals outside of BTC/ETH/ERC20s.
5380  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance NonVerified Account? on: September 26, 2021, 03:29:24 AM
If I understand correctly, once your account becomes sort of "limited", you'll still be able to withdraw, but not trade.

But seriously, why not just withdraw your funds just to be sure? If the funds aren't that much to justify purchasing a hardware wallet, then just use a good mobile wallet.
