5381  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be carefull Newbies! Fake exchange promocodes scams on: August 22, 2020, 08:24:25 AM
I think this is new to me, always thought this kind of scam only took place in social media when you get contacted by sime Asian guy to withdraw for you and get certain percentage. I still get this message in their numbers most especially when I join new telegram group. Never knew they have gone as far as creating promotion code to decieve mostly newbie or those wanting some extra cash.

Personal I don't partake in most supposenly called free money in for of promotions code like registration, deposit or even referral. I try as much as I can to stay away from them. I know some are legit and people are making money from them but just to play it safe I decided to stay away. Thanks OP for this awareness.
5382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoins before the upcoming banking crisis states author of Rich Dad Poor D on: August 22, 2020, 08:11:33 AM
Love the idea he has been preaching for a very long time now, since the start of the pandemic, his tweets always has a way of promoting bitcoin, this three assets (Gold silver and bitcoin) has been his pick for a safe investment. One thing I noticed about his tweets is he's not just saying this things for some cheap publicity stunt. Truely he's advising his viewing to get some of this asset which is a rare thing to see online this days.

Warren buffet will surely take some bitcoin pie after dumping his stocks over gold.

Not happening anything soon, I would say bitcoin is too high of a risk and speculative market for him. Warren didn't buy gold per se that's if I'm not mistaking, he bought shares. I think there's a difference.
5383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Warren Buffett will change his mind about bitcoin? on: August 20, 2020, 07:40:48 PM
Warren is one of the greatest Investors I admire, he's not a short term investor and won't adventure into anything he doesn't understand either due to hype or what we call the "Next big thing'. Instead he search for shall companies buy them and make them the next big thing (lol). I won't blame him for not publicly buying the into the idea bitcoin is selling. If he does, it might crippled other traditional institution like banks etc and been one of the big investing we n this firms I don't think he'll want his portfolio to be affected negatively by his decisions.

Nevertheless, just as others have said, nobody cares about Warren opinion anymore. We're in a tech driving economy and sooner or later the blockchain technology will strive as the driving force of global economy with or without Warren investing in bitcoin.
5384  Other / Archival / Re: Question to merit sources on: August 20, 2020, 07:13:29 PM
When I was appointment a source at first I didn't bother much about the user been merited. All I was after was hurting for useful post but with time (As I paid close attention) I easily identify those users only making that supposenly useful thread just to get the merit to enhance their payout with their spamming of the forum. I won't want to encourage that user therefore I abstain from meriting them.

At some point I was one of the highest meriter that have merited banned accounts in the last 120 days, wasn't that much of a worry since I knew the posts which were merited did deserved some highlighting. Recently though, that's slowing declining because this days I don't just send out merit with looking into the user account especially for those that aren't known to me to be quality contributors. Sometimes it's stressful but if I can be assumed I'm not encouraging some spammer then I'm ok with enduring the stress.
5385  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is the price rise on Coinbase pro different to Binance on: August 20, 2020, 02:20:20 PM
the reset time in the price changes every 24 hours also affects their % change in price. Suppose exchange A sets the reset time at 0.00 UTC +8 time while exchange B sets at 0.00 UTC +7. Basically they still follow global price patterns with accuracy. You can confirm by checking the prices on both exchanges based on usd at the same time.

Hard that feeling I would find something different as I decided to read the replies, most were just repeated thought from previous users but yours was different and actually made sense. It's quite obvious every exchange are filled with different traders having different target which definitely resulting to different price value for the tradable coins but that's something the exchanges don't have any control over per se.

But with the different reset time for each exchange, I think sometimes has to done to addressed this issue. A specific time should be used globally.
5386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: THE ROAD -BITCOINTALK CHANGED ME- on: August 19, 2020, 02:39:29 PM
Don't take this the wrong but I think you haven't done so well for yourself (and you know that too). From my observation, there are so many accounts on the forum that from the way they started I expected them to burst into the limelight with their quality works. Take a look at your best works so far and ask yourself if that's the best you can offer. Not saying you're bad but I'm just saying there's more you're yet to deliver, dig deeper.

Most members becomes too comfortable when they reach a certain rank that their post quality begin to fade away. Signature campaigns also contribute towards this decline in post quality as they begin to find it difficult to meet their weekly post qouta at the same time delivery above average content on the forum.

I see you're close to ranking up, don't let that achievement overwhelm you. Improve on yourself but most importantly don't forget to enjoy the forum because that's all that counts. The more you enjoy the forum the more you get motivated to keep the forum moving forward either with your selfless works (spam, scam busting) or quality contributions.
5387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi coins have turn the market into confusion on: August 19, 2020, 01:57:10 PM
I won't say confusion because all the big exchanges cashing out of this hype aren't confused probably the new Investors looking for new opportunity are the ones that would be getting confused. Using greed in the statement above should be the right word. Something like 'Defi coins has turned the market into a state of greed'. Kucoin exchange can't stay a day without tweeting about the next big DeFi project they'll new listing which just make me begin to hate the exchange the more. Guess that won't matter because all exchange are guilty in some way on this issue.

DeFi as a trend has brought impressive profit to some traders so has it made many find themselves in unrecoverable losses, you just have to be cautious to avoid them losses. I have a been on both side of the coins so I know that feeling. The easiest way to play it safe is to keep sating bitcoin and ignore the hype.
5388  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Twitter on: August 19, 2020, 01:42:42 PM
One thing I noticed is the 'crypto twitter expert' are never at loss. They always buy at the bottom and sell at the peak which is quite funny because many noobs seems to believe their stories. I took it upon myself to monitor a particular account sometime back and all the user does is call a buy prediction on newly listed coins on Binance. If you're not inform you'll think he's some bad ass expert and probably end up giving him your funds for prediction that if that's what you intend doing you can get that easily by following Binance on their social media platforms.

If everyone on crypto twitter is winning their trades, who is at the losing end? Lol.

I guess it has to be we lol, the non twitter traders. Newbie should just avoid that platform because if you're not the type that has control over your emotions, you might end up getting screwed wanting to be like them.
5389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will "De-Fi" replace traditional banking in the future? on: August 18, 2020, 09:34:59 PM
This happening all depends on how successful the blockchain industry will be in the future because without the blockchain technology becoming a force non of the new innovation will matter. DeFi are spectacular but do you really think they can keep the momentum that high until everyone is ready to used them?. Anyone remember what we all thought about the ICO era saying it'll replace traditional crowdfunding system but that has failed.

Not trying to say DeFi will fail too (I wish it won't because it's a nice concept that'll be beneficiary to the massive) but we shouldn't be too quick to used new trends to compare with old ones that have served us for years, gaining the trust of the masses even when they're not worth it. DeFi innovation is still new and needs time to better itself but until then, the traditional system still has a higher advantage over DeFi.
5390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto currency is all about Hodling. on: August 18, 2020, 09:10:10 PM
Not cryptocurrency entirely but bitcoin investment and it should be all about holding because that has been the most rewarded strategy so far that it has given more Investors profit then any other technique like trading. When holding altcoins you have to make yourself understand that they can be easily replace at any moment and the replacement will be even more superior.

Altcoins works in season like currently we're in the DeFi season that's why more of project recording success are DeFi related. You don't go holding onto most of the project after the hype dies down because they're likely going to decrease which will just result to lost.
5391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi tokens - do they have a real value? on: August 18, 2020, 03:39:36 PM
Hi guys,

I would like to share with you my idea about all DeFi tokens. I am little bit confused what is the real value of all DeFi tokens. If I think about it, their are now valuable because there is a hype around all DeFi protocols, a lot of buyers, less sellers.

If they don't then they will not be recording such huge profit as they're. The likes of $Link can be used as a case study. I think I don't have to go into all the details since it's quite obvious from the contribution above, that area have been covered. Although most project are taking advantage of the hype to decieve Investors into patronizing their projects still there are great ones out there that would be big in future.

I believe one of the ways to stay safe in this hype is not to rush into anyone out there but take your time to research further in understanding it. I know because I have fallen a victim not too long ago.
5392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is very excited at the moment. on: August 18, 2020, 03:28:05 PM
After much speculation the value of bitcoin has been $12,000. Bitcoin is currently priced at $12,000. Bitcoin has actually been able to show that bitcoin is the king of the crypto world. As the price of bitcoin has risen, so have the prices of other cryptocurrencies. Ethereum, Litecoin etc coin prices have risen. What is going to happen in the market. What do you think about all this cryptocurrency? Let's discuss in detail.

If I'm not mistaking, bitcoin has done 44% increase since the halving while the like of ethereum has done over 100% and other projects most especially DeFi related ones have done even more with some doing 1000%. With this statistics, I think you know where more money were made but sometimes it isn't about the profit but tech.

Considering the market, it's quite obvious we're in a bull market and this time it isn't the assumption of last year. 99% of the altcoins are doing quite well, giving impressive project and from reports Binance just recorded similar high traffic like that of the 2017 bull market.

5396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Curve DAO Token] Be careful with this project lost ~0.17BTC ~ $2000 trading it. on: August 15, 2020, 01:46:11 PM
You choose a bad entry and exit too soon. It rallied to 9460 and the price is 8422 now. If you hold it and did not exit too soon, you did not lose money. Afford your lose to avoid lose money. I bought it at 7000 and took profit at 8500. 21% profit , easy money.

It is not good price and time to make another entry. Wait for next 30 to 45 minutes and enter it again from 6400 to 6600 and take profit more than 10000.

True, guess I panicked and exited the market too early as I'm beginning to see if I have waited a little longer I would had minimize my lost assuming I still decide to exit the market. Currently price is ~$9 while I exited at ~$6.5. I'm trying not the calculate in satoshi as it pain me more seeing my bitcoin getting rekted.

Probably I will keep monitoring the market to see if I can recover some losses and luckily make some profit but that would be very challenging knowing another massive supply will be entering the market by tomorrow. I'll keep the thread updated with my journey of recovering this lost because I know I would either with the same project or other projects, only time will tell.
5397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of the top 30 most searched assets last week on: August 15, 2020, 01:26:56 PM
Thought ethereum would be in the top 5 or atleast top 10 since its price increase has been impressive lately even the last two days also brought around ~11% increased rasing the price to a peak of $445 marking a new all time year of the year and it isn't showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon. Ethereum is the hosting blockchain for 99.9% of the Defi based project out there and more in development so irrespective of the hypes surrounding the trend don't sleep on ethereum.

Be careful too as scammers would be leveraging on the hype surrounding this new trend to scam investors. I'm beginning to get the feeling we don't need more DeFi project but since this is an open market, there's nothing we can do towards that expect to stop prostituting around by jumping from one DeFi project to another.
5398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in your ability to earn more. on: August 15, 2020, 01:15:36 PM
With your skills you can earn. You can earn without any hard work. For that you need to be a crypto investor. You have to keep in mind that you will benefit if you invest in a coin or token by constantly monitoring the market. No experience is required for this. You just have to understand the market signal. Again you can invest in exchanger on any new token.
I want to be a good investor.
Do you want to be a good investor? Do you agree with me?

'With you skills you can earn' that's correct but when you add 'you can earn without any hardwork' that, I disagree with and with that statement, you're sending a wrong message to the noobs reading this thread. You thinking investing doesn't require hardwork most be linked with you investing wrongly by just gambling with your funds. Even though investing in bitcoin has been proven to be very profitable, you not doing your research properly before buying into the market and developing the patience to hold when the market goes negative will cost you heavily.

There's alot to learn, if you're adventuring into trading as you need to acquire the required skills which takes discipline, hardwork and experience to master. With investing too you need experience and most importantly blindly following exchange new listing will end you in losses then profit especially when you don't have the experience to outsmart the market.
5399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here is what I don’t understand about DEFI? on: August 15, 2020, 01:00:38 PM
How can you loan money without trust?

You can if there's a valid collateral higher than the intended loaning amount. The blockchain technology make trusting a little bit easier since all transaction can be verified openly. DeFi makes it easier to get this loan that would cost you more using centralized service like the user above mentioned. Exchanges like Binance offers collateral loans but since it's not advisable to trust centralized platform with your funds the need for a decentralized platform came into the picture which resulted to DeFi platforms.

I understand if someone uploads collateral like Bitcoin or Ethereum, But then why not just spend the bitcoin or Ethereum? Why take out a loan?

It's simple the borrower doesn't want to miss out on future gains of the collateralized cryptocurrency but need cash urgently. For example, Ethereum looks very promising as a result of the upgrade launching later this year. Now I have ethereum and in need of cash but can't risked selling my bags and miss future profit, I take out a loan and use my ETH as collateral. In a scenario where the price of ethereum increase it becomes a win-win situation for me as I'll still be entitled to my Collateral coin the moment I payback my loan.
5400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best performing "old" coins on the market? on: August 15, 2020, 12:44:14 PM
Don't look far as ethereum has to be awarded that crown. It's the only and oddest coin currently capable of challenging bitcoin in ROI but still it's no were close. Ethereum has created a name for itself as the king of all alts as from time to time it keep the market active and promising by introducing different trends like the ICO crowdfunding mechanism that took the industry by storm and currently DeFi making a stand for itself.

Litecoin surviving until now is a surprise to me but seems it's a shadow of itself comparing to years back when everyone was talking about it been the silver to bitcoin. The new coins aren't giving the old ones room to breath so it's just a matter of time before they all die out.
