It's only a few paychecks. It gives a public signal, a pretty important one, but it's really only for the show, not a full commitment. I.e. when something goes wrong, like price falling, the damage is no that big and selling is a very easy option that won't need publicity.

and says "nice place, how much do you want for it" Here is your check, now replace all of your logos with ours.
This is what I was also expecting as a first move, hence Mastercard move took me by surprise. But it's my fault, I forgot that they've been preparing the grounds for this for some time. And while they are not a bank (imho they're much more), they did partnerships. So now I actually expect all 3 directions you presented have pretty much the same chance to happen - depending on the bank, all 3 strategies are good and to be considered.
Edit: I've just read today, although it's a bit older: The Largest Crypto Exchanger in Thailand has been acquired by Commercial Bank so indeed, the things are on the move. And pretty fast!

From what I said last week about American Express and BTC
I've missed that topic, since it's created by a shill/spammer who just keeps posting back links to a certain website. But although I see it as spam, it's by the rules as I know them, so I don't have what to report... You're right, they indeed were waiting for some bigger ones to test the waters. But aren't the waters already somewhat tested by PayPal or JP Morgan? Or we can only say that both just built fences around their part of the pond and started fishing without actually touching the waters (i.e. somebody has to actually start doing the real deal)?

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. Vikram Pandit Says All Big Banks Will Think About Crypto TradingThe original source, Bloomberg, is asking for money, so I won't back link them.
Soo... this guy is chairman of The Orogen Group and former chief executive officer of Citigroup Inc and what he's telling is that one to three years, every large bank and, or securities firm is going to actively think about ‘shouldn’t I also be trading and selling cryptocurrency assets?’ Of course, this is not coming as a shock for us ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) , we were expecting that at some point they will stop fighting and come where the money is. Still, it's nice to hear it on the big media channels and said by somebody from basically the banking system. Also " every large bank and, or securities firm" is big deal. It means that there won't be just a very few.

Walletexplorer is the free version
Anyway to find more information or to do anything about it?
Other useful tools may be https://oxt.me or https://ethonym.comBut I guess that the funds need to be moved further for more info. OP, I've missed the story behind the scam. Maybe you can tell more details. Maybe they can lead to other addresses of the scammer to.

The JP Morgan guys are acting as "attention whores". Their analysis and BTC predictions are a joke.
This is correct. But aren't all the predictions of "personalities" made only to attract attention? What's the point of making a 73K USD price prediction and then revising that price prediction to 146K USD? It seems that the first price prediction was completely wrong and guy,who made it must be fired. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) It's known that these predictions are completely worthless. It's also known that the number posted in the prediction must be somewhat shocking/impressive to draw attention. So I guess that the advertising department - who probably wrote both "analysis" (lol!) - may need to fire someone. Or maybe making fools of themselves is their new marketing strategy? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Can't we have a civilized conversation instead of attacking one another? That's not how you talk to people man.. You don't just start pointing flaws or trying to pick apart someone just because they're trying to have a conversation.
The aim of pointing out the flaws is to help you see what you should fix. There's one saying where I live: "when two different people tells you you're drunk, you better go and get some sleep". Unfortunately for you, I'm at least the third one telling that you're not doing it right. ...And it's still you the one claiming that I'm "attacking you". I've seen too many stories here. And unless proven, I read them like... novels. Yours is not different. And even more, it turns more and more into something that can affect (in a bad way) those who may believe you. Until now I didn't support the flag against you because I somehow hoped... I don't know what. But you've convinced me I should wait no longer.

Should users be encouraged to add some random words to reduce these (admittedly minuscule) risk?
Adding extra words is a nice addition, just one has to be careful with all his steps because * the chance is millions 1 of times higher somebody steals the seed and extra words than find the same wallet by collision, hence it's important how the wallet was created (safely) and how the wallet and backup are stored * the chance is millions of times higher the user makes something overly complicated he doesn't understand and he cannot recover his own wallet at a later time. Notes: 1 Maybe you go on with reading this topic

many times we have heard the line we have missed the boat ~ The reason why i am making this thread is to make newbies aware that sometimes we feel that we already missed the boat but in reality it has not started the voyage at all.
Indeed. I've read not long ago a post that tells that best moment to buy bitcoin is "now" and was always "now", whether in 2009, 2010, 2011... and so on until, yeah, now. The thing is that people thought at some point that they've missed the boat/train because they cannot buy 1000, or 100, or 10, or 1 bitcoin... it's psychological and it means that people don't actually trust bitcoin and they also don't have the patience to leave it grow. I never tell people to buy now - they have to understand what they do -, but I also not telling them that they've missed the boat/train. The problem is that if people don't understand what they do will buy high, will sell low, then blame you because of their impatience and lack of understanding. But you're right. The voyage is just starting and the rewards are actually two: reaching to the station you want and also the voyage itself. But not everybody has the heart strong enough for this voyage, which tends to be rather bumpy. There are lot of altcoins that might be shining at this time but Bitcoin has been the king of CMC from long time and will remain the same and there are more chances of growth so you better don't get eroded by all such things like you missed the boat and do the same mistake they might have done.Just jump in and enjoy and stay safe.
Altcoins can be a good start, but for very-very few lucky ones who enter the right time and sell, again at the right time. On average, indeed, bitcoin is the correct one to focus on. The others are only distractions that can cost you a lot.

Well, when I try to spend my balance, of course, it remains pending and is never mined in the blockchain. It doesn't even fit into the mempool.
1. I hope that you made a backup of that wallet.dat 2. You should check on a block explorer (blockchair.com, mempool.space) if your addresses indeed have funds 3. If you have a very big number of small inputs then it can happen that your transaction gets too big (and expensive too). In that case you have to pick a smaller number of inputs and make multiple transactions. 4. If this doesn't work even with small number of inputs, you may need re-sync or (faster) import the relevant keys into Electrum and try from there. (Get Electrum only from electrum.org and verify it)

Salut, ai creat 2 topicuri, in principiu cu aceleasi intrebari.

You can check it out so you know I'm not full of chit.
Until now all you've proven is that you have the potential to benefit (financially) from those stories you started with. Until now you should have understood that until proven, all those things you said are "science fiction", but you still didn't prove anything. You may lure some newbies here and there, but with this kind of start it may take even longer to actually build the reputation you aim for. However, it's your choice. Until now you didn't give any reason to anyone to believe you. (And of course, for now I also don't believe you.)

Luckily the broadcasters were smart enough to focus on the better parts like Perez vs Hamilton or Bottas vs Ricciardo, else it would have been a boring race to see, like the ones from the days of Michael Schumacher. Yes, Verstappen did a great race. And Perez too. And Gasly too. And Vettel and Kimi too. And most were almost "invisible".
Mercedes didn't find the best settings this time and the starting strategy has failed them too. The only reason they're still the first at constructors is because Bottas got the fastest lap at the end. RedBull could have had the same strategy with Perez (he had plenty of time to change tyres in the last 5-ish laps at least), but I think that they preferred to let him try his luck on Hamilton (for the show and maybe for long term benefits like Checo's self-confidence?)

Now their talking about being digital gold? What a turn of words. Wont really be surprised if they would revert those words back and said negative ones again.
That's correct. I'd say that it's in the job description to declare things in accordance with the company's current direction. They were against bitcoin in the past, they may be against bitcoin in the future. Now bitcoin brings them revenue, hence they speculate it will rise.

Mai ales faptul ca lucrezi in UK e imbucurator, in ideea ca anumite intrebari s-ar putea sa aiba raspuns doar in sectiunea internationala, adica in engleza. hardware (pc si placile video)

It can. But not at the levels many expect. And it's not working always. But certain public figures' speculation/prediction may have meanings (or may just be interpreted) that can signal a trend. By/for some. And not always. Was I vague enough? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)
