5381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 05, 2022, 10:45:34 AM
Today is the last game of the week we left behind Burnley vs Watford,I have gone for an upset if I can call it an upset for Watford to win 1-3 as a result, this is the only game of the Premier League during the weekend, the real action starts at Tuesday at 8 February, but this post I made it more as a reminder for people to not forget to put their prediction for the game of tonight.

Yeah, Watford winning is an upset only as Sarr is not in the team (thought he was injured and then his name popped up at Afcon!) and they are once more in their new manager streak (sttangely they do not seem to benefit from new manager bounce).

I also feel they might win this one, but for now I keep faith in Burnley home win to snap their shitty streak.
5382  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for Feb on: February 05, 2022, 09:46:17 AM
Nothing makes me happier to see the majority of people vote for dead cat bounce. Of course most votes probably came in the first few days, no one foresaw the jobs report and this rise post 40k. I always like when people are still i. Fear as this is when Bitcoin usually proves sentiment wrong.

As you say, though, resistance points yet to come. And it would be rather unhealthy for both to pass this month along. I am prepared, even hoping, we just stay above 40k for a good month or so before taking on 45k.

@buwaytress

Nice, nice, nice, thanks bro. I won’t miss out on those. Who you got for the AFCON final? I’m thinking Senegal should win but with Mo, Egypt always have a chance. That GK has been a real star for them too, saving penalties in both shootouts. Either way, we will have either Sadio or Mo coming back happy, full of confidence & ready for the business end of the season.

I've been betting on Senegal a lot in past years, so their last final loss was tough, and it's something of a misled nostalgia that keeps me betting on them but yes, on basis of performance, Mane's men are a bit better I'd say than the guys behind Salah but you get the sense that Egypt have been playing a solid tune this whole tournament: attrition towards the final.

Last night's pitch was so poor though, heavy and turf flying all over the place, Salah spent half the time being fouled, kicked, and slipping all over -- his team were totally drained playing 120 minutes... while Senegal also have the extra day to rest so are more capable of turning on the afterburners. Pharaoh goalie is a cool cat, yeah, probably has a career in theatre too (that's a professional compliment from me haha).

And YES! A lot of people and my kid were saying wouldn't I prefer them to lose and go home early? But no, these guys operate on a different level. A win would pump them up and they'll take that confidence back to the Prem man.

And you know me... yes City won this but we can't just lie down and let them have it easy can we?
5384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cartman mentions about Crypto.com's "Fortune favors the brave" in season opener on: February 04, 2022, 06:59:21 PM
Haha, I saw half of the post pandemic special where Bitcoin was accepted everywhere (but painted in a bad light).

They were brave, so fortune will favour them, right? Though, what's brave about going all crypto when crypto's already big and successful? Or was the bravery about supporting a commercial crypto company trying to chip away at the basics of crypto?

Note: talking from a point far departed from soberness atm heh.

Other than the Multimaster NFL (nostalgic isn't it?) I spy with my little eye three new promos! Don't forget to opt-in on all of them!

1. Outright Free bet on Beijing Winter Olympics:
https://sportsbet.io/promotions/2022-winter-olympics
This is a no-brainer. Free spins for every gold on your outright pick. Norway is the huge favourite at ONLY 11/1 but can Germany or even Japan spring an upset? Haha. Also, first Olympics 4-3free is out and you've got 19 hours to put your picks in!

2. AFCON Final Fling:
https://sportsbet.io/promotions/2022-afcon-final-fling
I've already got Senegal outright so it's been a really profitable promo for me, but there's a 4-3free and casino promo still to go, don't miss out!

3. Saints Roulette EPL freebet:
https://sportsbet.io/promotions/2022-02-04-southampton-roulette-epl-free-bet
Wager 2 mbtc, get 0.2 freebet. That's a 10% cashback on roulette. Another no-brainer.
5386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: February 04, 2022, 03:36:50 PM
I'm kind of tempted to hedge my Senegal bet as it doesn't hurt to secure a bit of money but then again I see Senegal winning as long as they get a lead in regulation.

I'm thinking like you, I got Senegal at 65/10 thanks to boost, so it's not a bad profit at all to get even with low BTC price, BUT It'll be zero if Egypt somehow win. Funny thing is I've been wasting 3 good bets on Egypt already (all of them about 45/10 and the final gives them the same odds), but it would be dumb not to hedge on them I think, especially as Egypt to Qualify is 25/10 now and for sure it's Sunday's Super Boost... could get that close to 3/1.

@darxiaomi: Try asking Support if your location is the issue. I'm 100% sure certain locations actually get a DIFFERENT 4-3free option (India gets cricket according to one of our users here). I believe Japan users also get different specials (I weirdly enough get Japan offers every now and then in Japanese script).
5387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet AFCON prediction pool discussion thread on: February 04, 2022, 02:06:45 PM
^ Indeed, it's an outside chance, but you never know, Mane is the PK taker so he can still score a hattrick and tie with Aboubakar -- but then he could also score against Burkina Faso, so I think the Golden Boot is already safe with Cameroon.

Who else had Senegal or Egypt as the outright? I'm perhaps more disappointed than most that they haven't played their brand of football that hooked me since the Japan/SKorea World Cup 2 decades ago, or even the ultra attacking team of 2019, but I guess as I also said before, both Egypt and Senegal are experienced, and Senegal WANTS badly to win their first one, so they probably controlled the games and want to finish high.

Egypt though prove why they're the top holders... it's not my favourite style of football, but their game management is top-tier -- Gabraski for the last 2 games probably wasted 15 whole minutes on his own just being injured haha.

What's sickening for me is 3 bets on Egypt, all above 4/1, and losing all of them despite them progressing every time. What the hell haha.

Still, I'm going to hedge on them in case Senegal are again prevented from lifting the title!
5388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador Rejects IMF Call to Abandon Bitcoin as Legal Tender on: February 04, 2022, 12:02:23 PM
Same as Marshall Islands then some 3 or 4 years ago when they announced plans for SOV (their national crypto). Didn't really follow the news much but to my understanding, IMF was not so much pissed about SOV as they were about the nation abandoning the US dollar -- but of course that and Venezuela's plans are very different from adopting a decentralised form of money. The thing is though I was sure sanctions were threatened then  (I could be wrong) -- not sure why this is only a recommendation.

However, it does seem to have worked in delaying SOV... as it still hasn't been issued and it's 2022. Perhaps that's simply what IMF wants. To delay the inevitable de-dollarisation.
5389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet AFCON prediction pool discussion thread on: February 03, 2022, 09:48:44 PM
Wow guys, what an ending. Egypt has not won a single match after group stage in regular time, and now went 2 penalty kicks up.

To be fair, and I know I could be saying this because I bet on Egypt but I lost anyway as it was a draw... but Egypt actually deserved to win this as the officiating was not up to par. I counted at least 2 corners that weren't given, 2 key offsides that were not even close, and all kinds of fouling that the ref ignored. Cameroon were great up to this stage and they were better as a team but tonight the chances were better designed by the Pharaohs.

Salah didn't even need to take his turn too as the Cameroonians turned out to be really poor PK takers... weak shots and one wide.

So, the Egypt-Senegal final I wanted is here. Least one of my Reds comes home a champ!
5390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 03, 2022, 07:16:33 PM
Ho guys, I didn't even realise until now that there're Spanish cup games on, pretty good too. News article came up on my phone about this curious fact that I'd never known until now: Real Madrid have never won the treble. Copa del Rey twice in the past 28 years, so many doubles, just never a treble. Crazy or what?

Makes me feel like I need to start betting against them now in Copa del Rey or UCL.
5391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: February 03, 2022, 03:29:54 PM
Thanks for the notice rdbase! I made a mention of it in the NFL thread, didn't realise it was actually part of a bigger promo Wink

With regards the 4-3free. The last AFCON one was not available for me as it came out on Monday I believe when the "week" period began but as soon as bets settled, they were. So I think this is a timeframe eligibility requirement  and not lifetime. Makes sense!

I thought I was the only one that weirdly miss that lol, it was the first thing that I do everytime I woke up and I wish we could have this back anytime soon lol.  Seriously though, I wish I could get my 'revenge' on live casino hero because I didnt get any profit from the last one due to my stupidity.

Anyway speaking of live casino, there is another Roulette promotions though

https://sportsbet.io/promotions/2022-02-04-southampton-roulette-epl-free-bet

All you gotta do is to wager 2mbtc during specific days on Southampton Roulette and you will receive 0.2mbtc free bets for EPL, the first one is going to be on 4th-5th February. As usual, dont forget to click opt in before you start

Yeah, same here, well not the first thing but I set an alarm in the evening in case I didn't manage to find time throughout the day. The worst period was when travelling for the Arsenal game as in UK your IP leads you to UK website which isn't the same -- and then the hotel and stadium connections weren't being cooperative, so I had to go through a LOT of effort to make sure I could wager haha.

It was a highly stressful promo, not sure I'm going for another round. Prize is definitely worth it IF you can manage your gambling.

I've done a couple of those Saints roulette too...

And anyway to update: my Senegal win all wagered. Put all 0.3 mbtc on Player (game was Baccarat), and it came out to be a tie. I needed any card except 10,,, and Ace came up (to tie with Banker). So my grand total so far: 1.4 mbtc = 0.4 mbtc profit. If the Cameroon scorers fail tonight, Mane "only" needs 2 goals in final to share the Golden Boot Tongue
5392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: February 03, 2022, 01:37:19 PM
I'm about a week early, but just put in all my picks to avoid overthinking.

To echo Welsh's analysis, I can't see City dropping points against Brentford, but the romantic side of me will count on Eriksen to remind the world he's still class, if they find a way to get their form back, use their directness to also remind City that setpieces are part of football, and of course we need to do our job against Leicester... this is still City's league to lose but it would be ideal to play them in April with everything at stake.

Look at Celtic, beating Rangers last night to clamber over them (bittersweet for Rangers as proof that Gerrard actually was a good manager).

And about Greenwood -- thought he put down his problems from Iceland but if Southgate couldn't, guess Ole and Rangnick couldn't. Not that I blame them for what happened, but precocious young talents need sorting out early. Don't expect to seem him appearing for Three Lions after this, regardless of what happens next.

^ Thanks for the note, last one in so far, surprised not many more predicted yet. Went for Strickland, despite my usual leanings towards the less trash talking candidate, but I made my pick before I saw the news about him saying he'd go turn Hermansson into a coward ha ha ha. Oh well.

Then I gone and went for all the favourites with odds less than 14/10, see if I get "luckier" siding the bookies.

5394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: February 03, 2022, 08:32:19 AM
Nice read, rdbase, and yeah, I knew Super Bowl was big -- it's always mentioned in movies and film -- but it's still pretty ridiculous to get ticket prices that high. Average of 8500 per ticket? Is there no backlash from fans? You hear Arsenal fans complaining about tickets, I've to say even Man United tickets which I bought for a kid were priced way out of his earning range, and that was a regular weekend footie against a midtable team.

Anyway, don't forget to check out the Sportsbet Multimaster -- $100,000 cash prize for 10 yes/no Rams/Bengal questions. Easy, right? Haha.

Who else misses Multimaster? Wink

Sweet bets Trofo. Yet another game (or is it one of those weird games like bowling that's not considered sport?) that know nothing about, but sometimes wish I did. I mean I sort of get the concept, of course, but don't know the rules.

But great night for everyone more or less. Slaman, guess what? Australia ALSO killed me in the exact same way as you. Final leg on a 5-leg acca, but mixed with basketball, I posted it in the WC thread here. Sucks big time, huh? But unlike you, my freebet returned lost last night (I put it on a dumb Belgium football special, team won easily but needed BTTS). Good luck with Egypt part of your acca.

Me, I bet on Egypt past 2 games as 4/1+ underdogs yet still lost as Salah and co only progressed via penalties and ET win. I will probably double down on them. Cameroon are so good but Egypt are experienced. This may end up as another ET.

A hattrick would be the best case scenario for us but I feel like both teams will play defensive so I kind of like the under on this one if i'd bet on something.

Also the Saints promo seems good but unfortunately, it's on OneTouch though they have a rule where you can't bet on both red and black.

Just under an hour left! 3-0, 0-1, 0-1 after extra time, heck, even penalties will do for me if we get Senegal over the line (I wonder if we still get the freebet though actually if it ends up being penalties, probably not?).

Betting on under's never my thing, unless the value's right, which it still doesn't look even with the boost.

I actually don't think I've ever played OneTouch games. EVO or classic (not sure who's the provider) for me, and always only because of promos. Only time I'd play Casino is when I truly feel rich, and that's only cause Evo's really really raised the bar IMO. No red/black? Oh well, split all the chips and go on 1/3 chance when you see 9-streak no hits, that's my way without red/black haha!

P.S. Any of you somehow weirdly miss Live Casino Hero? I don't want to put myself through that any time soon of course, but I looked at games today and I don't recognise a single dealer anymore! I miss this one guy forget his name, Jurgis or something, bearded and big. Bloody funny and he knows how to host Blackjack!
5398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 02, 2022, 03:41:33 PM
Poor Auba. Personally liked him, just thought he seems to have lost his way, and I know the situation was tricky with his mom but you know, if you need to work things out, you do, you dn't just surprise your club -- I know Arteta has bigger reasons and Arsenal need to toughen their stance with errant players who've been bullying the club.

I dislike Konate as well - he is physically super strong but he's so clumsy and reckless. Still, of course he's superior to Phillips - Phillips is a Championship-level player. He was huge for us last season though - I fully agree with that and I really appreciate him for that. Nevertheless - no emotions in football and he has to go, there is no place for him here.

Williams is a tricky one - I thought he's going to be great but he hasn't really developed in the last few years. Maybe he just needs more minutes - with Trent it will be impossible to get them here. We will probably cash in to strengthen elsewhere and cover RB position with either Gomez or one of the midfielders in case of emergency.

Yeah, his best games were against direct opponents, but those aren't are toughest games. He's physical, he's strong as you say, but I was really surprised we still went for him despite him playing quite badly against us on both legs when he was still at Leipzig. I thought that proved he wasn't a fit -- but then yeah, I'm not saying he can't improve, he's still very young for a CB, 8 more years to get to VVD's age, I suppose one could point to 22 yr old VVD who was just as clumsy (and had a temper to boot).

Speaking of youngsters, can't wait for Elliott to come back.

There is one summer transfer I thought might happen in January I know is wishful thinking but I wanted a British guy to join our ranks, another stealth Liverpool buy.
5399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +78295 units on: February 02, 2022, 02:20:31 PM
This is also looking to be my worst season so far since I started this thread. It's more than half gone and barely in the black Wink It could very well be my first nett loss season actually. But as the point of this thread is value, the units I've gained simply by picking the bookie with the best odds will always be positive.
You will made the rest of the profit trough pools this season Smiley Seems you traded a bit of your edge for upsets towards consistency and getting the points more.

And I expect your results here will pick up once the Champions League resumes. For instance City has solid lead in PL and I am sure they will have a priority on CL, there will be though PL games with good odds on opposition around those CL encounters. I am sure Pep gets annoyed when he heards he was only able to take CL because of Messi Smiley

Thanks for jinxing me in the pools hahaha but yeah, I'm still finding it very, very strange to be getting a great haul of points in the pools simply by less thinking and going with the "natural" favourites each round. It could still be coincidence as I've to try doing it again next season to prove it's true, but this is 4th season of EPL pool and the first time I'm doing every pick without thinking too much or looking at odds. It's still about 15+ games to go for all the leagues, though, so anything can still happen but it really does add up to some personal theory that if we remove visibility of odds, and remove the romantic idea of upsets, we make better predictions?

I have definitely done slightly better in Europe betting than EPL betting this season... I haven't done precise calculations but the majority of wins I know from back of my head is in UCL and Europa, plus in other domestic leagues. I started off brilliantly on this thread with that big Spurs and Leicester parlay vs City... but that I believe was the only big win from EPL. Napoli loss to Spartak and Bayern loss to Frankfurt are the big calls I got right here... but I've definitely lost money by betting on favourite accas... and on specials haha. Last half year in tennis I think hit 3 specials... Federer, Djokovic twice... but not since July, so countless "big value" specials putting me very deep in red.

But you're absolutely right. City will start to feel the pressure, and the bookies hopefully make that worth betting against them every game haha.
5400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: February 02, 2022, 02:01:40 PM
Congrats on the prediction win, I got the first match correct but I failed on the Bengals as I got too confident on the Rams thinking they'd win by a touchdown.

Yeah, thanks! I'm not sure now if I've got a good record in that line of predictions, but the way this season has been going, at least closer to the playoffs, it's been tight wins for the favourites or huge upsets -- and that theme continued. Perhaps it's also the way my mind works, I don't like betting on Asian Handicap more than just to avoid a draw situation so wide spreads look very unattractive to me. So much stakes too for all teams.

P.S. I just saw the massive massive prices for tickets... and rdbase explained elsewhere to me why they're so expensive. I had no idea! Year of the Tiger indeed huh!
