I really hope so but right now it doesn't look like it at all. I think an anonymous crypto currency may replace bitcoin at some point.
You mean more anonymous ? I doubt because to stay anonymous you must be anonymous on all levels, from internet connection to depositing and withdrawing USD

I agree with your last sentence and also agree that bank accounts can be closed for various reasons. The problem is that as Bitcoin becomes more popular banks that ban Bitcoin dealings of any kind will have something similar to a Scarlet Letter on them. The people who want to deal with Bitcoin will have no dealings with the banks who ban them. As the numbers of people using Bitcoin in the future grows, that could hurt bank profits.
I mean realistically, it could be 5 -10 years before major online businesses start to accept Bitcoin. The transactions will almost always be of a more limited nature until wider acceptance of the coin has taken hold.
There is always possibility some small Bank will see oppurtunity how to get new clients and expand by allowing and supporting Bitcoin users

NewIdeaCoin ?
New idea! Chandrew, your address in personal information area below your name is not visible completely on a 18.5" monitor. How will someone tip you in case if they want to? You may use just first bits of the address ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Subject, and is it depends on amount of transferred coins ?
Wallets determine the fee automatically, you dont need to worry about it. 0.0001 is about 10 cents

Is there any legit poker sites or casino style gambling websites that accept and actually pay out in bitcoin ?? I remember seeing some sport booking sites advertised but that's it ....
Most casinos I tried are not graphic stunning, but I guess it is just about possibility to score big

Hello, new to the forum. Looking for thoughts on a combined coin where a scrypt shares are interleaved with SHA256 at some ratio (1/10 perhaps). You would send your shares to different ports depending on what you are using. I think a cooperative coin would be pretty interesting. If one side gets unbalanced your actual share rate goes down... What do you think?
Scrypt is 1000 times slower than SHA256, I dont know how it could work or ballance

For a single mining you have to join a pool that's from my understanding
You dont have to, but it makes more sence to mine at pool

I think, in order for all the alt currencies to gain ground, first, need to stop calling them alt currencies. Like they are are an alt currency from bitcoin. They will never gain any ground if the people who are promoting them degrade their value by comparing them to bitcoin. Secondly, these other currencies need to stop having their value based upon the value of bitcoin. If that continues they will never been accepted as a serious alternative. They need to gain ground on their own. Push for them to be used in marketplaces. It will only gain value when you put faith into it.
Your right, but the only use of altcoins is just buy/sell for Bitcoin. This is why I think all altcoins will fail

|
|
I believe because majority of traders focus on Bitcoin only and dont care about altcoins

maybe some of you can tell me? is there some bank that has IBAN and has bitcoin funds ?
I doubt ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) You have to use exchanges to buy Bitcoin

So basically, I mine LTC, transfer it to BTC-E, use it to buy BTC, then transfer the BTC to a wallet or Coinbase or wherever.
Yes, thankfully to alt coins, this is possible. But it is slow way to get BTC, use http://dustcoin.com/mining to check what coin is most profitable to mine

Best future has Bitcoin, many devs, best security and by far best merchant support.

Everyone saying "mining is unprofitable" are probably mining right now and don't want you to take all their coins as if they will be able to prevent all new miners from entering the market.
![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) It is not so easy, If you want GPU mine, check your electricity rates and use mining calculator before buying GPUs

I'd say Anoncoin looks like a good bet - I like the idea that there won't be as many so in theory it could increase. Number of coins is irrelevant as long as there are enought smalest units (Satoshis) to use for trade

Overall this is not good news and will make a lot of Chinese ppl to sell.
I dont think. Chinese buy Bitcoins to be able to withdraw wealth from China easily I believe. Remember, it is not mainstream there, only very small part of the population bought Bitcoins

You may use Electrum client instead, no need for blockchain download. Also when you download blockchain as file, you must trust this file is from 100% secure source
