Are you using Trend Micro Antivirus?
If so try disabling it and downloading the blockchain again https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=171891

Did you check your HDD/SSD's smart status, are there any reallocated bad sectors?
Do you have the same problem on another pc?
543  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox to Coinbase? on: February 16, 2014, 08:46:24 PM
Yes, they're delaying BTC / fiat withdrawals.

Don't be tempted to make a quick profit, you'll lose your money.
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia on a donation drive again - no Bitcoin still. on: February 16, 2014, 08:43:23 PM
Such actions have been set up before, unfortunately without any result  Embarrassed
545  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin become worthless? on: February 16, 2014, 08:41:26 PM
It became worthless like 30 times o far so why wouldn't it again? Cheesy

Best reaction so far  Cheesy
Just ride along the waves, and expect BTC to rise in the long term as it will be used and accepted.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't get BFL'd by NFC Ring on: February 16, 2014, 08:36:09 PM
Thanks for writing this up - I was going to order an NFC Ring but after reading this, I won't.
547  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How Mt. Gox could be making huge profits by suspending withdrawls on: February 16, 2014, 08:17:59 PM
Have a look at this url: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1y247y/mtgoxs_plan_is_simple_and_genius/

Quote
Step 1. Notice that there isn't enough BTC or USD to handle even the pending withdrawals

Step 2. Halt BTC withdrawals, causing a massive crash on MtGox

Step 3. Buy BTC on MtGox at the reduced price

Step 4. Sell this cheap BTC (which they have access to, of course) on other exchanges, making a massive profit

Step 5. Blame a well known bug in BTC for the delay. Continue this process for weeks until enough profit has been made.

Step 6. MtGox now has: a ton of cheap bitcoin, a ton of profit made from selling the cheap bitcoin, and a ton of profit made from the trading fees during the panic. Re-open withdrawals of both USD and Bitcoin, solvency problem is solved.

Your story is more or less a simplified summary Smiley
548  Economy / Lending / Re: 1 BTC Loan on: February 16, 2014, 07:49:33 PM
Requesting: 1 BTC
Returned to You: 1.2 BTC
Time Period: 1 Week
Collateral: 40 LTC
Thanks!

I'd provide this loan, if you are actually looking for a 1 BTC loan with 40 LTC as collateral, pm me.

i wish i could but i just dont have money.

the whole reason i tried to scam for 1 BTC is so that I can buy a new camera. I have a deep passion for photography and videograghy. its just that im limited in my financial ability to pay for this stuff being that im still in highschool. so please look at it from my perspective. having a passion for something but not being able to get into it. ive been trying to get at bitcoins for a few months now but its just not working so this was my last resort. im sorry everyone but again just look at it from my perspective. i wish i could be the one having to wrorry about scammers instead of being a scammer. but its just hard so im sorry everyone.

You are actually justifying stealing because you need something for 'a deep passion for photography'??

Scam?

Seems like it.
No address or personal information given, no proof of actual projects they have worked out, ...
550  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-15] The Feds Lose about $31million in Bitcoin on: February 16, 2014, 07:38:52 PM
If they wait to sell until the price goes up again they'll eventually will have won money over it..
551  Economy / Gambling / Re: [The Money Talk Forum] - Get 0.003 per every VIP referral "Unlimited profit" on: February 16, 2014, 07:23:16 PM
Why would someone take your business idea serious if you aren't even willing to invest the 10 USD or so to buy a domain name..
552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia on a donation drive again - no Bitcoin still. on: February 16, 2014, 07:15:09 PM
I also do not understand why they won't accept BTC donations.
I'm sure they'd benefit a lot from it.
553  Economy / Speculation / Re: (Poll) Do you have money in Mt Gox? on: February 16, 2014, 07:09:48 PM
Luckily I don't at the moment, and never did.
Be smart and spread your assets across several exchanges!
554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Solo mining when you have just USB stick on: February 16, 2014, 07:01:40 PM
You can use a wallet that doesn't need the full blockchain, such as MultiBit

555  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sorry BTC... on: February 16, 2014, 05:58:09 PM
Sorry but that's just ridiculous.
It is good to have some critics around here to temper the sometimes overenthusiastic "bitcoin is going to the moon!!11" posts here.
556  Economy / Gambling / Re: [The Money Talk Forum] - Get 0.003 per every VIP referral "Unlimited profit" on: February 16, 2014, 05:54:29 PM
Why bother using free subdomain? My suggestion buy some decent domain.

Exactly my first thought.
This does not raise a lot of confidence for potential investors..
557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Forecasts on: February 16, 2014, 05:49:29 PM
Even a sharp upward trend on Feb. 14th did not reverse a L/T bearish move. Expect BTC-e to be 550 at the beginning of next week. Any posts or comments are welcome

How do you make these predictions?
Are you using some mathematical techniques?

Welcome!
Did you only buy BTC thus far? It might also be interesting to learn about altcoins.
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Client do you use and why ? on: February 16, 2014, 05:33:07 PM
I use BitcoinQT because it has all the features I need, and is largely supported by the community.
