I got mine.
542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mystery Transaction - sent friend 0.25 btc, but 0.5 disappeared from wallet on: June 24, 2011, 04:03:41 AM
When I sent 0.25 coins to 18nLNBp9Qps6kaQhmupoupehVccwQuTsYn, 0.5 coins actually disappeared from my wallet with the other 0.25 going to a mystery 1FB9464Sun77Gpc4PNP4fneTeUoBfpoqro.

This second 1FB9464Sun77Gpc4PNP4fneTeUoBfpoqro address's transaction doesn't show up in my client.  What the heck is going on?

I guess this puts the beta in 0.3.23 beta... what is going on

Probably some retarded transaction fee.
543  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Visiontek Radeon HD 5970?? Or should I go with another manufacturer?? on: June 24, 2011, 01:12:44 AM
I am about to purchase 3 Radeon HD 5970's, but I am unsure which manufacturer to go with. I found some really cheap refurb's from Visiontek, but I am concerned that maybe they aren't the best choice. Any recommendations?

Here is the link to that video card: http://www.unityelectronics.com/products/6428/Visiontek_Radeon_HD_5970_GFX_x16_PCI_E_PCI_Express_2GB_GDDR5_BBA_2560x1600_Video_Card_Dual_DVI_Mini_DVI_400579_Refurbished

I would go Sapphire, but only because theyre a good company and you can OC them pretty good.
544  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoind -daemon crashes on: June 23, 2011, 12:20:45 PM
You need more RAM.

Are you sure? How many RAM I need you think?

tbh I'm not sure, it depends on how big your pools going to be. go for at least 1gb.
545  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I mine Bitcoins with my smartphone? on: June 23, 2011, 10:46:37 AM
what phone do you have?  There are apps for the iPhone that will soon allow you to view your wallet.

haha, i highly doubt that.

There is an app made by Paxx Media that is supposed to add support for wallets.

Apple won't allow it, it's been done before.

Bump

Just tried actually using one of my GPU's today (only got the rest of components yesterday), and one of my 2 5830's doesn't work. Ideas? You said it comes with warranty?
548  Other / Obsolete (buying) / Re: Looking for developers on: June 22, 2011, 03:15:13 PM

The first milestone is in this project to start an exchange service…
Minimum skills required:  advanced knowledge of PHP and the Bitcoin system.
This is a long term project with continues maintain and development of the services.
Rates depend on the experience of the developer.

550  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [PAPER] 3-factor Authentication for Exchanges on: June 22, 2011, 01:40:56 PM

Yeah, and the paper is written from the perspective that the exchange hasn't been hacked.

No, see Explicit Requirements:

1. In the event the exchange is breached, the attacker should not be able
to withdraw funds or place trades.

Quote
In the event that both the exchange and the user's computer is breached,
the user has not previously placed trades while under surveillance and
the user has set up SMS authentication, the attacker should not be
able to withdraw funds or place trades on the user's behalf.

it has a dual core cpu so it is pretty powerful.

what app is best for mining?

Won't be worth it.
552  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [PAPER] 3-factor Authentication for Exchanges on: June 22, 2011, 11:30:14 AM
Well, thanks for trying. Unfortunately, I find your paper largely confusing and unclear. First of all, what problem do you intend to solve that has not been solved by standard techniques already? Second, I get the impression that you have a poor understanding of the state of the art in applied cryptography. For example, it should not be necessary to transmit the "master key" to the server. If you are trying to build this for your own exchange I suggest hiring someone who has read a book or two about theoretical computer science/cryptography.

Transmission of the master key on trade requests is exactly what keeps it secure; an attacker can not break into the exchange and steal coins without also knowing the master key, which is never stored at the exchange.

Quote

What makes you believe that the master key is never stored at the exchange? When I own/pwn the exchange, what keeps me from storing it?

There are crypto techniques (such as zero-knowledge proofs) that make it unnecessary to give the exchange (which you do explicitly not trust) any part of your secrets.

Yeah, and the paper is written from the perspective that the exchange hasn't been hacked.

555  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Malwarebytes Keys 10 for sale, 0.1 bitcoin each. 3 KEYS LEFT on: June 22, 2011, 02:14:50 AM
I bought a bulk of Malwarebytes keys to sell out of my friends computer store. After being ripped off by him, I stop selling keys from his store last month. I have 10 keys left that I have no use for and just want to get rid of them. So Im asking 0.1 per key. This keys are legit. If you want to buy one, just send me a pm.

I'll buy one.
556  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: BouerBouer's Signature Shop (0.1BTC per signature) on: June 21, 2011, 04:34:43 PM
Okay, well the signature is done. It doesn't have the text effect you requested, as I stated will be probably, but I will PM you with a possible solution. Tell me what you think. Smiley

yeah it's good, but would you be able to get rid of the glare, and change my name to SomeoneWeird, Wink

OMG how did I do something as stupid as that sorry. Fixed and fixed. xD

nice, how bout that wallpaper? Smiley Also I just realised the text was from fallout Tongue

Okay, that's very cool how Metasploit did the text on that T-shirt, but unfortunately it won't be possible in your signature due to how it's designed. Sad

However, it IS possible with the wallpaper. As what you are requesting is quite simple as a theme, the signature will be nice and simple too, so I will upload the signature first, then work on the wallpaper. Smiley

hmm, alright. So your saying you won't be able todo it on the sig, but can do it on the wallpaper, or can't do it on either?

Sorry it's just that was a bit confusing Tongue

Well I meant it'd be possible on the wallpaper. I just need to figure out how to do it. Tongue

Anyway I finished your signature and posted it here, BUT looking at it it's far too minimal. So I'm improving it right now with a few small details I think could make all the difference. Should be back up in half an hour. Smiley

Alright sweet. Thanks
