what econ class did you take?  that's not ROI that's simply getting your money, back, breaking even.
Breaking even means 100% ROI, no? Enlighten me.

In Bitcoin land yes for some reason people started using it that way and it stuck.  For the entire rest of the planet ... no.

ROI is return ON investment.  breaking even is 0% ROI.  Losing money (like buying a 100 BTC rig which only produces 60 BTC before it goes into the trash heap) would be a negative ROI.
wikipedia disagrees with you, sir.

lol, you are using wikipedia. Thats your first problem.

Bitcoinorama--please stop defending yourself.

And especially stop doing it in gigantic novel-form that I can't even bring myself to read. It just comes off as 'the lady doth protesteth too much.' One or two lines should be enough. You're just feeding the trolls.

I asked KNC to confirm that the 1.6 J/GH is at the wall but they did not.  Given that the at the wall efficiency will depend on the user supplied power supply efficiency I think the most probable scenario is that the 1.6 J/GH represents the entire system DC wattage.  At the wall would be ~10% lower for the average 80Plus Gold PSU.  Unless KNC states in clear terms the at the wall/plug efficiency we won't know until some units get to users.
It obviously a mathematically modeled efficiency as there have never been any KNCminer chips to actually measure, it might be right out! They should have the chips this week so it wont be long until we know the real figures, no point speculating. Their design needs several power hungry fans and big expensive heat sinks, which means the chips were planned on being driven hard. If they ever sold the chips separately I would under clock them until they only needed a basic case fan.

i dont think you understand fans and heatsinks....

that is just like asking> bitcoinrama, are you on knc's pay list?
They have asked me to work for them, which I have agreed to
Knew it. Knew it. Knew it.

You wait until about 4 days before they are supposed to ship to admit it.

If you are into openness and integrity, why didn't you admit this doozy in the thread you were called out as a KNC shill?

Why not? Because you have no integrity Alex, that's why. You're a sneaky rat.

And now KNC's integrity has taken a major hit in my eyes if they are willing to employ a despicable, shapeshifting little turd like you.

Well done KNC & their shill! Be happy together. Print this on your PCB's "Over-shilled and under-delivered".

Lol, you're a fucking retard. Reading comprehension is zero.

[funny pic]

I dont think anyone sane questioned there would be chips, not after reading the press release by orsoc.

The last months this thread was FULL of trolls questioning that there will be chips. Sane or not it doesnt matter cause we all have seen it happen.

And even now they could state that its all a photoshop fake.

You see an idiot stays an idiot regardless what happens.

Speaking of which, where's out buddy eve? With all his crying about the chips you'd think he'd at-least he would have the decency to share his latest theory as to why KNC is a scam  Tongue

haha, good point. I hope hes dead. Literally dead.
553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 19, 2013, 05:49:07 PM
Wow, Knc posts one pic of a chip and this thread turns into a giant circle jerk.

Personally, I would like to see a video of the chips hashing at the advertised speed before giving Knc too much credit...

You're just sad we didnt include you in the circle jerk... Bent dicks are not invited!  Tongue

haha, calling him a douche for price gouging?

I say that's a little harsh, but yeah, I don't think this setup is worth $15k

thats the definition of a douche, lol.

Has anyone seen the ASICs of KNC? Is there any proof the chips exist?

558  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Asic Arms Race 28mn chips on: September 19, 2013, 02:28:25 AM
So it seems that we have a race here,

and the racers are: ActiveMining(VMC), CoinCraft, KnCMiner, CoinTerra

Most are shipping their chips, during november, ActiveMining promissed, to ship, by the end of october..

Coincraft - by the end of november

KnCminer - by the end of november

and CoinTerra saying during January's batch...

Hashfast -  shipping in mid to late november

BFL - November/December (initial shipping), and January/February (bulk shipping)

So lets see who's gonna win this race, starting october to december will be indeed an interesting times for bitcoin.

Pretty sure KNC is supposed to ship by the end of September

here: https://i.imgur.com/ViHHvcX.png

Obviously you haven't been paying attention. Their first batch is due for sept shipping, they are now on third batch orders for Nov shipping.

Obviously you haven't been paying attention to what you read... im talking about the arms race on 28mn chips in this _thread_

OP doesnt even know what the hell hes talking about. DO YOUR RESEARCH.
559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 19, 2013, 01:58:51 AM
I'm beginning to question my own large November order I placed with KnC.  It sounds like they should've been even cheaper than $5K each based on all this talk of x amount of PH coming online.  I was hoping the red zone for 400GH-600GH was Feb 2014 but I think it is much sooner now.

I'm sure the responses will FUD the heck out of me wanting me to cancel...lol
I am holding off on Nov orders until I see what the impact is going to be. It's just business, so I understand where you are coming from. KnC said that they're going to open up some Oct slots from cancelled orders. I may jump on a few of those if I can catch it.

i too have been looking for an October order to pop up, but nothing yet. i assume they are waiting for a certain quota of orders to be canceled and then they will release them to the website as a batch all at once. Who knows really.
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 19, 2013, 01:57:21 AM
I keep seeing people mentioning the upcoming monarchs from BFL in with other companies adding to the increase...but I have to wonder who would trust them enough to (pre)order one ? I think people aren't so stupid as to ignore all the companies who have royally screwed customers this year (monarch may be an insider jest about them doing that?) ...so when KnC deliver on time and with better rigs than spec, wouldn't prudent buyers wait that few months for a gen 2 that may give them a chance to break even because it will at least arrive in good time? Who takes a risk when they can avoid it?

If this is even half true then a lot of this increase might be delayed until KnC gen 2 ..which is early 2014..
If I wasn't already waiting and was looking to buy a rig now, I'd see how KnC performed compare to the others ...and probably go with the one that was trustworthy with the additional bonus that gen 2 won't be the 1st attempt so should run smoother.
Just speculation but KNC gen 2 will be the same as gen 1.  Maybe they'll add a logo sticker in with the package.  That and they're not going to overclock future Jupiter orders. I have a feeling they're doing that just to reward early adopters/customers.

they arent overclocking shit. the chips are going to be hashing at maximum efficiency from knc. WHERE has it said that november orders are not going to run above 400ghs? THIS IS NOT HARD TO UNDERSTAND. jesus christ people are daft.
