541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's been 2 months and now I am doing well.(I guess). on: December 18, 2022, 05:54:27 PM
I am not sure how your whole ecosystem and balance of payments is working but I would recommend you to go with a private key wallet instead of using Binance Pay. I think it will make your life much easier and safer if you go through a private key wallet. I understand that it's easier to convert your cryptos into some other cryptos using this method but with a little bit of effort you can do that in a wallet too. But yes I feel the one advantage of Binance Pay is that it's free for the sender as well if he is on the Binance platform only so Technically that's an advantage but this advantage is surely coming with a lot of disadvantages as well. I am desperately waiting for someone to make such a solution over a decentaralized blockchain.
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 17, 2022, 07:08:30 PM
~
Shakib is way past his prime which is why I'm not expecting any crazy heroics from him. Expecting him and the remaining 3 players who are basically bowlers to score 241 runs is crazy if you think about it.

This game is over because India has already won. What's left to see is by how big a margin they end up winning against them.
With the position Bangladesh is in right now, only weather can help them, either way i did not expect Bangladesh to play out the entire day tonight but the openers played an incredible fightback with a century partnership but the rest of the batsman were struggling and at one point i was thinking whether the pitch became flat with the way the openers were batting Cheesy.

The way Bangladesh's opening pair was performing, I thought Bangladesh might win the match. But even though the two openers played well, we did not see good batting from the later batsmen. Bangladesh had a chance to win this match if the next three batsmen batted with some responsibility. Now Miraj and Shakib are at the crease. Both are experienced players. But collecting 241 runs is very difficult. I think next day Bangladesh will lose all wickets to collect 100-120 runs.
I think Bangladesh have played fairly well in the fourth innings, i was never expecting them to win but a total of even 300 in the 4th innings is pretty decent considering what they made in their first innings. It was obviously because of the openers who went on to put such a great first wicket partnership. While chasing such targets the opening partnership is obviously very crucial for any team. But yes it still doesn't looks like they could fetch a win out of this match.
543  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla’s stock prices dropping fast on: December 17, 2022, 06:36:12 PM
Tesla’s stock prices have seen a decline of about 20% in the last two months following his purchase of the social media app twitter.

It’s clear to me at least that his recent acquisition and handling of the social media app has in a way, contributed to the decline in the stock price of his automobile company.

https://www.ibtimes.com/tesla-stock-price-has-plunged-28-since-elon-musks-twitter-takeover-3646963
This was bound to happen after the recent price rally in the price of the share i feel this is just the correction in the price right now. I remember the stock rally which happened in price of Tesla post Covid was most prominently led majorly by the Semiconductor shortage which Tesla handled really well as compared to any other company on the planet. They managed to produce cars even though rest of the Automobile companies were not able to meet the lead time demand. But obviously now as all the companies have picked up the production as per the demand this was pretty much bound to happen. The stock price was overinflated and now is just coming to a correction.
544  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto exchanges charging for inactive accounts . Do you support this ? on: December 17, 2022, 03:31:20 PM
There is a new practice among crypto exchanges to charge its users if they are inactive on the exchange. Some f the examples are

1) Zebpay: It is an Indian exchange that charges some fees from users if they have not done any trade in any month. It is still having this rule on the platform.

2)Bitstamp: Another exchange which added this rule was Bitstamp. It planned to charge 10 euros ($10.27) per month for inactive accounts.

Personally, I am against these charges and it affects the rate of crypto adoption. It discourages people from starting to use crypto. What is your opinion about this practice ?
Very strange and am totally against this. But if you see in a way it's a really good thing. Because such things will motivate investors to keep their money in the wallets instead of exchange when they it is idle. This makes sure less amount of scams with your money. But to me the rules also sounds a bit strange. Because it's like charging money for not doing anything. If you are so much in need of funds increase the withdrawal fees. Makes no sense to charge this amount of fee.
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First nuclear fusion ignition achieved electricity price will plummet on: December 17, 2022, 03:27:51 PM
This was announced formally on Dec 5, it is true, for the first time in human history, they were able to produce more energy than the one required to achieve the nuclear fusion reaction. It is a dream that has existed for decades, and also, it will bring very cheap electricity across the globe.

This is definitely going to impact Bitcoin mining.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cmzep3YaRNI

They used 2.5 mega-joules and produced 3.1 mega-joules, nearly 50%!

Sure it will take some time to go from lab experiment to first commercial nuclear fusion reactor, but its a milestone that is definitely changing the world as we know it.
As far as I know about nuclear fusion is that it's so powerful that only a handful of reactors would be able to power up the whole world at once. So obviously the energy production it can do is massive. However I have seen a lot of articles which tell that it's not that happy a thing. These tests were done only in a lab environment altogether. So the engineering challenge to make this large scale is going to be a big task.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 16, 2022, 10:46:12 PM
In the Test match between Bangladesh and India, we have seen that India has presented a very good game in both bowling and batting. We know that India is much stronger than the players of Bangladesh.  However, Bangladesh impressed the audience by showing extraordinary performance in some matches.
Bangladesh need 471 runs to win. it seem not possible to cover for Bangladesh . because India bowler are very strong and they can out one by one Bangladesh players there are no doubt india can win this test match against Bangladesh . Bangladesh has played well in ODI match but they are not playing well in Test matches yet.
I can't fully agree with your words because the way Bangladesh is performing against India in this tour I think anything could be possible. And I think that Bangladesh cricket team has the ability to chase 471 run target . And if we see the highest score of Bangladesh in test format it is 638 run against Sri Lanka. And against india they have record of 400run .So I think if Bangladesh can just hold their wicket without Batting like ODI or t20 I think they have a chance
Being hopeful is one thing but being soo optimistic about this is really crazy. I think it's not chaseable at all, unless there is a miracle from Bangladeshi side which in cricket happens in like once in a decade this can happen. Even the highest run chase done by any team in 4th Innings in test cricket is 418 which happened 20 years ago. Even that was a miracle too, because WI chased the total against the mighty Australia. So if such a thing could happen again we'll see.
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you make KYCed Bitcoin not traceable to you? on: December 16, 2022, 10:41:51 PM
Is washing Bitcoin still a thing? I'm hearing it's impossible to disconnect you from the coins, and that depending on how much resources is put into it, the coins can always be traced back to you. Is this true?
I think mixers are the only way, Good mixers make it impossible to track the precedents and the trail of your bitcoins as the money moves across a lot of wallets in different byte sizes to reach your wallet which is the final destination. Good mixers don't even keep the track of this themselves so even if the authorities question them about it they don't have any idea as to what the trail was. Other than this obviously there is no way to wash off your BTC again once you have established a KYC based trail atleast somehwere.
Well, you can split them into different transactions and not at once.
Using multiple times of mixer services I think that could be your coin becomes clean and it is untraceable from you, using also a p2p exchange will perhaps decrease the chance of tracing your identity. It could be using conjoin and mixing service or selling your bitcoin to monero and when you have monero buy again into bitcoin and transfer to your cold storage where your identity was not linked.
Yes it's true but even after splitting transactions if the Mixer's servers are private their Algo must be keeping the trail of where it is transferring the money and where the transaction is ending into. This much of info is enough for the bots these days to trace out complete path of the funds. But yes the Monero one is a better idea, if you both mix then switch to monero, then mix again into some wallet there is a very low chance you'll be caught.
548  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance's Alleged Crypto Audit Failed, Its Auditor Refused to Vouch For It on: December 16, 2022, 10:36:24 PM
Binance says an audit shows proof of reserves of customer funds. But its auditor will not vouch for the reserves nor the methodology demanded by Binance.

What do you think ?

1) Is Binance manipulating the crypto industry

2) Is Binance involved in any sort of money laundering

3) Is BNB being inflated at the cost of investors/traders money

4) What will be the fate of users if Binance in any case will be scrutinized and found to be a culprit

https://mishtalk.com/economics/binances-alleged-crypto-audit-failed-not-even-its-auditor-would-vouch-for-it
Pretty interesting opinion. I am pretty sure that even Binance isn't free of all these nuisance, it's pretty much as involved as FTX in such things it's just that Binance is too big to be tug offed by just one person or small set of persons. It's too huge and obviously controls not only the market but media, whales and funds as well. But obviously if it falls the fall is going to be equally big. Moreover I even read somewhere that Binance opted Mazaars to audit then instead of the Big 4 which are generally popular in Auditing.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is that guy still rummaging the dump? on: December 16, 2022, 06:04:12 PM
Do you guys remember that guy who well before btc had its first highs threw away a hard-disk with btc which became worth millions and he went to rummage the landfill looking for it and also offered a slice of btc to the city council if it helped him find it?

Is he still looking for it?  Roll Eyes    Cheesy   Cheesy

Really ? Is this a true story? I have never heard of it but really sounds interesting to me. I googled about it and found the article which mentioned about this incident but there were no updates on this incident no further articles so it looks as if he was not able to find it. But there is a big chance that it would have gone into pieces while it was sent to the trash dump area.

551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 99% of People Will Lose Crypto in Self Custody on: December 15, 2022, 08:07:01 PM
Recently, when people are withdrawing their money to personalized wallets, CZ says that  out of these people 99% of them will lose money, as only 1% of the people are capable of handling the non-custodial wallets.

‘99% of People' Will Lose Crypto Storing in Self-Custody: Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao

He may be right because most people do not understand the risk, if they are not careful they could lose all their crypto.  Some may lose their private keys and others may connect their wallet at scam sites and they will be deprived of their funds.

Education and understanding of non-custodial wallets is necessary.  A lot of people have move funds out of binance recently, lets see if they know how to safeguard their bitcoin/ altcoins in these wallets.
Oh C'mon the last person I would like to hear the opinion of on this issue would be Binance CEO, Obviously he would want everyone to still keep money on centralized wallets, truth is that with right education there is just 1% chance you might lose it. And even without education there will still be like only 20-30% of people who would be this foolish to do such a mistake, Obviously the dex wallets should have proper warnings for people and proper instructions in layman languages, I am sure that not 99% of the people are idiot enough to lose their private key in this way.
552  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Canada bans crypto leverage and margin trading after FTX collapse on: December 15, 2022, 07:57:02 PM
To be honest I cannot blame the Canadian Government on this. Even though everyone has their own liberal choice on whether or not they want to trade crypto, whether or not they want to do leverage trading. But if such big exchanges will collapse like this you cannot expect the governments to keep quiet and do nothing about it. It obviously not only shatters the trust of the people on the Crypto ecosystem but markets as a whole as well. And Margin trading is the biggest reason why these exchanges end up doing such scams and embezzlement with user funds.
553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: December 15, 2022, 07:49:46 PM

It is very interesting to see how Bangladesh has not improved in the one format which is the oldest in cricket. And Bangladesh once did better in test cricket at least in Bangladesh because players like Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah were in their prime.

At that time, even though Bangladesh was not winning the test series back-to-back, they were at least bringing in respectable results. However, this generation of Bangladesh cricketers is not in their prime anymore. The new players are just not setting themselves up to their standards or even close to it.

I think we can see that from the relatively new players that played in this match. Nazmul Hossain Shanto was again a failure. I really do not understand how he is still on the team. And Yasir Ali is another failure, who fails to contribute to the team in any format. At the end of day two, Bangladesh was 133/8 and they are still 271 runs behind. From this point on India should be able to win the Test match easily.

After winning the first two ODIs, Bangladesh lost the track and lost the last ODI with a huge margin. This test is almost over for Bangladesh unless India do some big blunder in the game. On stumps day 2, Bangladesh still trail by 271 runs and only 2 wikcets left. There is no one in Bangladeshi batting lineup that took responsibility. Bangladesh lost 8 wickets for just 133 runs.
Bangladesh need to be consistent in there performance otherwise they will continue losing games like that.
Today in thier first test match Bangladesh was extremely poor in batting none of the players made any runs and they lost 8 wickets on 133 runs , 271 runs trail which is obviously not possible for them to compete as their batting is a disaster.
Why cricket teams are performing like this in the oldest format of cricket? Is this the increasing popularity of t20 format or thier lack of understanding related to test cricket.
Obviously yes, Today no team focuses to become best in test except the ones that are already good, Especially in Test, I see only England, Australia, South Africa, India & New Zealand, only the top 5 which have actually played well in Test have actually shown a competition. Even Pakistan isn't in the list, except South Africa in Pakistan they haven't won a series against these top 5 in a lot many years now. I feel all this is just because of less viewership and interest amongst countries for test. Obviously for smaller boards like SL/ Bangladesh money is the most important thing and which T20 can give you the most so it's obvious that their teams also focus on that only.
554  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Rainbow Indicator drop on all time low on: December 11, 2022, 08:50:48 PM
I feel it's still not broken down completely as it looks like. But yes a few more bearish days and this could look pretty ugly and absolute nonsense. Mostly such charts are bound to break eventually because the big guns know that everyone is following these charts so a lot of people would have filled their buy orders on bottom of the rainbows and these big whales like liquidity in form of buy orders so technically this rainbow chart might just break this time and send us into an array of complete darkness.
555  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank of Nigeria to limit cash withdrawals on: December 11, 2022, 08:45:23 PM
Quote
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has pegged maximum over the counter (OTC) cash withdrawal per week for individuals at N100,000 and N500,000 for corporate organisations.

...
The circular read: “Further to the launch of the redesigned Naira notes by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 and in line with the Cashless policy of the CBN, all deposit money banks (DMBs) and other financial institutions (OFls) are hereby directed to note and comply with the following:

"The maximum cash withdrawal over the counter (OTC) by individuals and corporate organizations per week shall henceforth be N100,000 and N500,OOO respectively. Withdrawals above these limits shall attract processing fees of 5% and 10%, respectively.
“Third party cheques above N50,OOO shall not be eligible for payment over the counter, while extant limits of N10,000,000 on clearing cheques still subsist.”

...

The circular further stated that, the maximum cash withdrawal per week via Automated Teller Machine (ATM) shall be N100,000 subject to a maximum of N20,000 cash withdrawal per day.”

Also “only denominations of N200 and below shall be loaded into the ATMs.”

The maximum cash withdrawal via point of sale (POS) terminal shall be N20,000 daily, the circular further stated.

The circular further stated that in “compelling circumstances, not exceeding once a month, where cash withdrawals above the prescribed limits is required for legitimate purposes, such cash withdrawals shall not exceed and for individuals and corporate organisations, respectively, and shall be subject to the referenced processing fees in (I) above, in addition to enhanced due diligence and further information requirements.”

The central bank of Nigeria is changing up the entire system to try to boost the economy and the dwindling naira.
I personally do not fancy the idea of limiting how much cash withdrawals one can make within certain periods of time and putting a low cap on that.
This would adversely affect SMEs around the country and while it would push more people to exchange digitally through cashless means, it would have lots of negative sides

How the policy would impact the economy and more importantly the citizens would be seen next month.
A very normal thing done by most of the developing economies these days. Limiting the amount of cash withdrawal to ensure that a lot of liquidity always remains in the system and all the transactions can be easily accounted for. Even though in longer term it's a step that increases financial inclusiveness of the country so in that way it's pretty good but if you see the basic of limiting someone to withdraw money from his very own account, the basic concept looks flawed to me.
556  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War expets saying this is the ww3 now in Europe on: December 11, 2022, 08:27:11 PM
This is what experts and analytics belive.
The russia likely start war with EU not with USA or UK
Countries wich Will be touched mostly might be

Most likely russia will go in next countries:
Ukraine off course then moldova poland greece italy germany. Baltics Will be not touched and northern Europe not interesting for Putin.

I don't think Russia is going to go in any other countries, Russia's attack on Ukrain has been pretty slow in itself as well if you see never does it looks to me that this attack was done with the intention of annexing it. The sort of stalemate it looks in now depicts it more like an attempt to showcase it's power and intent to safeguard it's territory and nothing else. I feel this war would end in sort of an arrangement between both sides.
557  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can a rookie freelancer get jobs? on: December 11, 2022, 08:24:32 PM
As a freelancer that just got a digital skill like digital marketing, copywriting, project management, graphics design, content marketing etc with no real experience how do you get jobs. Nobody or if any, very few people entrust their work to a rookie with no experience whatsoever. The only way one can be a pro at a skill he just learnt is by doing the work consistently for a while.

So to people here who are successful freelancer today, how did you do it? How were you able to get gigs when you were new to the field? I know what worked for Mr A may not necessarily work for Mr B but I'd really appreciate your insight.
Work for free. It might sound foolish and also like a waste of time but is absolutely worth it if you want to build a strong portfolio which you can showcase to clients in future. Obviously no one is going to entrust you with big money when you are new so a better idea is to not charge them. Some people say that you can charge below the market rate but I feel that gives a wrong impression that the freelancer is cheaper than others so must not be that good. Instead do couple of projects for free and then showcase those projects to other prospective clients.
558  Economy / Economics / Re: Is long-term employee retention a losing battle? on: December 11, 2022, 08:18:49 PM
Reading this article, I couldn't help but wonder about a lot of things that have gone wrong and is going wrong in companies. Some of these companies are know that employees leaving are a problem and are making efforts to fix it while other who know, ,amy have chosen to ignore it.
Below are some important points highlighted in the article.

According to the report, more than 6.5 million people (20% of the U.K. workforce) are expected to quit their job in the next 12 months, according to estimates from the Charted Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), which published the data in June after surveying more than 6,000 workers. That’s up from 2021, when 16% of the U.K. workforce said they plan to quit within a year, according to the CIPD. Meanwhile, in March Microsoft’s global Work Trend Index found that 52% of Gen Zers and Millennials — the two generations that represent the vast majority of the workforce — were likely to consider changing jobs within the following year.

Data do not lie. If these companies do not want to keep losing this battle they have to start caring about their employees. They have to treat their employees great. In this day and age companies need to start to try to be human and actually care about what their employees care about or at least putting it on the same pedestal with the degree at which the company cares about making profit. We need new generational leaders who are high on emotional intelligence.

What do you think? Are companies losing the battle for long term employee retention?
I think the traditional thinking of employees has now changed altogether, the employees of today don't want to focus on such petty things such as sticking to a single company, their needs and wants are quite diverse now and only money, stability and reputation are no more the pillars of these wants, companies also have realized this and that is why are not able to satisfy every individual based on his specific wants. Also I feel even companies now have accepted the fact that they will always be able to retain only a few employees out of all so they have made their existing employees extremely flexible with knowledge on diverse things and no more restricted to just one thing that they do so that no employee is irreplaceable.

Anyone who Was doubting Virat Kohli till yesterday, i think today he gave a befitting reply to all of them. But obviously hero for the day was Ishan Kishan, i think the main change India made today was in their mentality how to approach their innings from the start. Technically this is a good win for India but I feel the series loss is not a good sign for them overall. But yes a pretty good match for India to bounce back.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: December 10, 2022, 06:31:32 AM
Bangladesh is showing a different picture of playing in their own ground. They have repeatedly beaten strong cricket teams like India in ODI matches.  Miraz and Mahmudullah are the keys to win the 2nd ODI for Bangladesh Against India . Both of them played very well and both of them scored 177 runs . Which gives Bangladesh another opportunity to beat India in 2nd  ODI match
Not only just this time they are playing good at their home ground I saw their previous match on their home play ground and what I've seen is that they've consistently done well in those matches except some few match. And I think with that consistency they were able to beat India and take the series in their favour. I also thought that they also hold the ability to win 3rd ODI  and make whitewash India.
I saw statistics in the match which showed that Bangladesh are actually the best-performing team on their home ground and they have outperformed all the other top teams in this. It's quite strange how a team performs so well on their home pitches and suddenly don't perform that well on foreign pitches may it be on the sub-continent pitches which are pretty same to their own pitches only. Maybe it's the factor of the support they get which keeps them going in these matches. Whatever it is this is actually a great defeat for India this time. Getting beaten by Bangladesh is embarrassing that also when you are sending your A-teams for foreign tours and they still manage to win but your Tier-1 team lost here.
This makes bangbros the underdog in the WC as it's in India.

Would be great if they win the tournament but i guess I'm expecting and might exaggerating a bit too much but hey they won closer encounters against India in 2 consecutive matches and it was their Achilles heel for a very long time.
I also want some underdog team to win the world cup or some other big ICC tournament, really FED up of the top 6 teams always being at the top in such tournaments, cricket would be so much interesting if there are 15-20 countries who played at almost the same level as of each other. But yes as you said too early and exaggerating to say this right now. Moreover worst part about them is their inconsistency and arrogance, the moment they start to wina  few matches they become arrogant and then start to lose a lot of matches as well, not a sign of a great team.
