How about Paul George awkward landing causing injuries?

It is being evaluated but it seems that he will be out for at least a month now? It could affect the chances of Clippers in the playoffs now, as he and Kawhi as the anchor of the Clippers and it's hard to see him with that kind of injuries in the knees since we all know that he had history already.  Still very close down the stretch for the teams in the West bundled up in the 6th-12th spot. A couple of losses should spell the difference between making the playoff and being in the play-in. Although Norman Powell is set to come back, but still though, missing Paul George is going to be tough for the Clippers.

Huge loss for Clippers but they still have Kawhi and Westbrook. They don't depend on George alone. We'll probably see how that affect the team in Thunder game tomorrow.
If he won't return for play-offs it may be first round loss for Clippers as they'll play against Nuggets or Grizzlies anyway, considering their regular season standing go down.

Smiley

It's probably over for Lakers. If you look at the fixture you'll know they can't win most of these remaining games. In fact I'll be surprised if they get 4 wins in these 9 games. Only Rockets game look easy on paper. All other games are pretty hard or even for them. If Bron was back there could be some hope but in the current situation we can say that they have no chance.
For some reason, Lakers is talked about much more than other teams and the game they play in return is mediocre to say the least.

I don't think anyone has any doubts that Napoli will eliminate Milan. Besides the fact that Napoli has a better squad than Milan, they are more in shape side with high morale. They want to win everything this season. Milan players' this season performances have been hugely disappointing, except Giroud, Leao and Tonali. On the other hand Napoli have talented young star players who are on the transfer list of every major team. Milan's history may be bigger, but their current situation matters most. Napoli will pass quarter final like a walk in the park.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC needed for retirement in 10 years? on: March 22, 2023, 02:07:14 PM
what would you think is enough to retire in 2032?

I think 10 BTC and 100 ETH would set you up for good, so once that is reached, I would stop accumulating, what is your plan?

The answer to this question depends on where you live. With this amount of coins you can retire already in many countries. You don't have to wait 10 years. Retirees in Türkiye don't even have one tenth of this money. I'm trying to explain how big the number you're talking about is. $500k may not be enough to retire in the US, but in many developing countries you could live comfortably on that amount until you die.
None of us can know for sure what will happen in 10 years. Try to collect as much BTC as possible for your long-term investment, I'm not so sure about ETH though.

Older and rich people invest in real estate because no other investment is promising. In their past life there was no such thing as crypto, so they only focused on real estate. And if we talk about crypto to them, very few of them understand that.

Now our life is different. The existence of crypto as a future investment tool is also part of a promising investment. No one is ready to take risks, but risks are always there, it's just how do we minimize these risks. This includes crypto investment, how do we choose assets with a lower level of risk.

I can't fully agree with that. The investment opportunities at that time were different from the current opportunities, but this shouldn't be read as the elderly cannot invest in new technologies. A good investor is one who correctly evaluates the opportunities that come his way. This has little to do with age. On the contrary, older investors can read things more accurately because they are more experienced than younger investors. On the other hand young investors tend to take more risks. The reward for this can be good or bad.
Real estate has often been a good investment. Those who know this continue their investments in this field. Crypto investments are pretty new and have a lot of risks. Don't expect everybody to take these risks.
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Given an option between Bitcoin and Fiat which do you prefer? on: March 21, 2023, 10:29:33 PM
Let us accept the fact that right now, most governments won't accept btc as legal tender as they have their own fiat.
They may create their own CBDC to cope up with the digitalization of currency.

They don't even have to accept as legal tender. That's enough for us if they stop putting unnecessary restrictions to use Bitcoin as money. In my country I can trade Bitcoin legally but can't use it to buy any goods. So I have to sell my coins to get national currency and spend it. How silly it sounds, right? For that reason I always have to allocate some fiat money to regular expenses.
There is no need to even make comparisons on the investment side. While one side is constantly losing its value, the other side is gaining in value in time.

Cavs - Nets game tonight, what do you expect? Will Cavs get an easy win or can Nets push them?
Cavaliers is in comfortable position but Nets feel the danger of losing sixth spot. They lost 3 in a row and Heat caught them up. Ben Simmons has been ruled out again. Johnson, Bridges and Dinwiddie need to carry the team together as they have no leader in the team. Jarrett Allen is questionable for Cavs. Mitchell and Garland were awful behind the three last game but they won comfortably against Wizards. It doesn't look like a game that surprise us. Hey, they'll play back-to-back. I say Cavs win in both games.
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Space ID token? on: March 21, 2023, 09:18:24 PM
Binance is going to list Space ID token this week. What do you guys think about this token? Can we expect at least 1$ value in this coin? As I can see there will be very big movements because this project is making hype in twitter because of their airdrop phases.

As the coin will be newly listed, there will be high volume and price movements. It opens with high price first, then finds equilibrium. Airdrop recipients will naturally want to sell it. Volume remains high until these trades are finished. As for the project, I don't think it will survive in the long run. When the hype ends, this will be one of the forgotten tokens. It's similar to dot-com bubble, with a web3 sauce.
553  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: March 21, 2023, 02:40:15 AM
This is one of the most discussed topics of the last years. It actually depends on the economic situation in the country. Sometimes rents are low relative to inflation and salaries. Sometimes the house prices are so high that it's unreasonable to put all the money to a house. The situation is different in developed countries naturally, but in countries with fragile economies the situation may change depending on the conjuncture.
I agree that it's important to own a house, but if house prices and loan rates are very high you can live in rent instead of making such a long-term investment.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 20, 2023, 01:46:46 AM
I see the hot discussion of Real Madrid - Chelsea match-up. I think today's El Clasico loss was bad for Chelsea. Because now Real Madrid have no chance to win La Liga, they have to go for Champions League trophy with full focus.
Courtois wanted to avoid Manchester City and Chelsea. Sure everybody would prefer Benfica, Inter or Milan. I think they should be thankful they didn't draw other big teams. I'd put Chelsea fourth place after these three mentioned team. This round may not be that difficult for Real Madrid, who eliminated another English club Liverpool. I can't say same thing about their possible semi final match-up though.
555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 20, 2023, 01:26:50 AM
In fairness to Golden State Warriors though, this team is already proven to always show "big changes" once playoffs come.

Disregarding how bad they are and not well-performing in a season, that all will be erased once playoffs come and every team will start at a 0-0 standing.

I will still treat them as a big deal in the Western Conference once playoffs come. Prior to that though, they need to make the playoffs first, and looking at the current competition in the West, too tight that almost 9 teams are all possible to be in the play-in tournament.

Grizzlies destroyed them last night. The best player for Warriors was Kuminga, that tells us something's wrong. I don't think Warriors can go far enough even if they get a spot in play-off.

I've just watched Pistons game and they were very close to win the game. The experience difference was the big factor in last minutes and Heat made a 10-0 run and won the game. Huge win for Heat though. They may pass Nets and steal the sixth spot if Nets keep losing games.

What a beauty this ending was.
Our guy Maxi Kleber with 3 clutch free throws 15sec before the end to make it a 1 point game and then after a Lakers turnover Maxi's first NBA game winner buzzer 3 pointer.
He is a force on the defensive end but his shooting from 3 is  definitely worth mentioning as well.
Thanks AD for the "great" foul on Maxi shooting a 3, amazing.
GO MAVS.

I fell asleep in third quarter but woke up in last period and that was well worth it. AD did the worst mistake he could ever do and that cost them the game. Without Dončić and LeBron it was still a fun game and was very competitive until the end. Kyrie had another great night. Everybody expected him to use the last ball but he passed to Maxi Kleber and what a buzzer beater that was. Even though I'm not a Mavericks fan, I screamed 7 in the morning. Grin
Every win change standings. Western Conference in play-off picture is crazy.
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 17, 2023, 10:28:33 PM

This meme is very accurate. Left side looks like a clear path for Italian teams, especially for Napoli. It's both good and bad for Italian football. Good because they will probably be in the final match, bad because only one team would make it to the finals. Clearly Manchester City and Bayern München match-up is the hardest one. Real Madrid is a natural favorite.
I don't know if rigged draw rumours have any base but bigger teams draw each other and big teams (I don't want to use small team definition at QF) draw each other accusation can gather supporters.

It was a pretty bad decision to rest AD even though he wanted to play. The coach may have overestimated his team's capability without their top player. This definitely hurt their chances of qualifying for the play-in tournament so let's see if the decision to sit AD will pay off and translate to consecutive wins in their next couple of games.

They basically gifted this win to Rockets and lost a good advantage. Without both AD and LBJ Lakers hardly win matches. Maybe GM thought they can beat Rockets anyway but that was a wrong calculation. Thunder, Mavs and Timberwolves must be very happy now.

I watched first half of Clippers game and never thought Curry to score 50. Marcus Morris was ejected but Draymond got away with his first technical foul. I see he finished the game. From the looks of the first half it was clear that Clippers would win the game. No surprise for me. It's crazy teams score 260 points in a game without overtime. The game changed too much.

Wow this is great and I really will be glad if we can get something like this in my country someday
It seems the machine might be a very easy one because it truly looks so but on the other hand, I thought Bitcoin was banned in turkey, I haven't heard any recent news about turkey but I hope this fellow aren't flaunting any rules of the country.
Based on the talks on this thread, if there were Bitcoin machines before the ban, there would possibilities of the government not figuring out all the machines while implementing the law but if the machines where installed after the ban then the citizen has flaunted the law

As mentioned earlier in the thread, Bitcoin trading isn't banned in Türkiye. In fact we have very big exchanges such as BTCTurk that have high volumes around the globe. ATM's should fit under this category and are completely legal. They are probably used mostly by foreigners anyway. Because trading fee rates aren't competitive between these machines and local exchanges. The ban to use cryptocurrencies for purchases is complete nonsense but what do you expect from this government? They are very inconsistent in making decisions about cryptocurrencies.
