541  Economy / Gambling / Re: Regulations & Gambling projects on: October 19, 2022, 10:45:53 AM
When regulation takes a hit on crypto prob in few years from now what will happen to gambling projects like Roobet and others? I've discovered one gambling project claiming to be regulated but there is nothing to prove that, anyway, can regulation affects gambling projects in future that's all I seek.

Regulation will come sooner or later because governments dont want to be left behind and loose the chance of getting money. Governments are only here to make our lives difficult, that is all they are worth for. Its a bit like cryptos, in the begining it was not regulated, now they running after crypto legislation as they dont want to miss on profits
542  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you visit the casino while travelling? on: October 18, 2022, 11:41:38 PM
Im a poker player, bu I have to be honest, I suck at real live poker. I Cant handle a poker face, so I prefer online gambling over the real live thing. Of course that wilst on travel, its always fun to spend some time on a casino. Even so, I will also prefer to do a good poker tournament online than to going on a real casino to play poker.
543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency should be infused to academic systems on: October 18, 2022, 05:36:55 PM
Cryptocurrency should be adopted as a course of study in academic systems worldwide, from basic classes, through the higher institutions.
Cryptocurrency should be taught to little children at tender age and implemented/approved for basic transactions within academic environments to improve knowledge and usage, spread and utility of cryptocurrency to ensure safer and smarter transactions as well as to enlighten the students as kids and adults on the utility, conservation, spread and improvement of cryptocurrency.
It should also be made known that knowledge of Cryptocurrency is a form of empowerment to the young ones and adults.

Fear of being defrauded or scammed
Stories of people being ripped of their cryptocurrency through false investment links and scam websites
Lies of mining websites.

While Cryptocurrencies/ Bitcoin are being taught in schools, Privacy also shouldn't be over looked at, Children should be taught in every possible way to keep and guard those seed phase.
Childhood should be fund though, most parents wouldn't want to accept this but for the sake of the future, then they need be taught.

Absolutellly agree. In reality, there's already some academic courses on the blockchain technology. They are not specific to cryptocurrencies but the technology is already something that is bein thaught academically.  Check it here:

544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: October 17, 2022, 07:09:58 PM
That's how it is! This announcement was left for the end of the 2021 Bitcoin Conference with the participation of Jack Mallers.
Among the most impressive that helped me understand why bitcoin will be the currency that will lead the country of El Salvador is this.

Quote
"Over 70% of the active population of El Salvador doesn't have a bank account. They're not in the financial system." -Jack Mallers

https://twitter.com/TheBitcoinConf/status/1401279373223866369?s=19

At the conference the president of El Salvador makes the announcement.

Quote
President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele: "Next week I will send to congress a bill that will make #bitcoin a legal tender."

https://twitter.com/BitcoinMagazine/status/1401279550538108933?s=19

Actually, this is not correct information. Way Before El Salvador, the first country legally accepting Bitcoin as a legal Tender was actually Japan back in 2016. You guys can check the story here:
https://www.sygna.io/blog/japan-crypto-regulation-history-2014-2020/

Besides, Germany was the first to recognise Bitcoin as private money and later as legal tender. Check it out here:

545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: October 17, 2022, 07:01:47 PM
Finally it's been officially announced that Johnriel Casimero's comeback fight vs Akaho will be this coming December 3 at the Paradise City in Incheon South Korea as what Akaho's promoter announced.

TBH, with Casimero in the mix on the Philippine boxing is an exciting one because of his personality or how he handles himself going into a fight. Some would say that he is cocky but if you dig deeper into him, it is just how he mentally plays his opponent.

ctto

https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/boxing/848308/casimero-vs-akaho-announced-for-december-3/story/

Yeah, Casimero puts too much show-off on his fights and presentation. Besides being over-cocky, he also has a disability which is overconfidence and this may be his Achilles' heel. That is why I totally believe he will not win the fight. My bet goes to Akaho who is overzealous should use this to his advantage and end up winning the fight

547  Economy / Gambling / Re: To what extent do you chase anonymity while gambling? on: October 16, 2022, 06:37:31 PM
Hey guys.
Choosing crypto in casinos has always also to do with more anonimous gambling.
Anyway I'm curious how important is anonimity to you when you pay & play?

I don't think I do even think about anonymity when I'm gambling, however, I've picked crypto casinos just by the simple aspect of being able to instantly recharge or withdraw my funds from the account at any given time. Besides, we do not need to rely on any 3rd party operator to go through with this operation. That's the beauty of cryptos, there's no middlemen and you are truthfully in charge of your funds and not dependant on not just some bank or financial institution.
548  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: October 16, 2022, 03:26:10 PM
Hey Bitcointalkers,

What games do you like to play (mobile, board games, easy game with friends, etc.) that you would love to see put into an online casino for real betting?

There have been a lot of successful yet simple games in online casinos like Heads or Tails, Over/Under, and more. We are looking to see what games you guys love and wonder if we can turn them into an online betting game!

What I would like to see the most in casinos that offer sports betting is Sports bet trading. This is something that I cannot find anywhere in the crypto casino space. I guess that offering something very similar to Betfair's sports trading system would be a great addition to the crypto casino industry.

Well, but then again, there's some operator out there already offering this option and I simply did not find it yet. In case you guys know of any crypto casinos with sports trading options, please let me know.

550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: October 15, 2022, 03:38:55 PM
We are going to be using Micheal Jordan as our case study :

Micheal Jordan gambled away $5 million dollars in one night[1], he is a Billionaire, but that does not remove the fact that that's a hell lots of money to gamble away in just one night, you might want to say he is an adult and a Billionaires, and he is free to spend his money in which ever way he wants - understandable... Now, what about his son?

Marcus Jordan is just 19 years old, he spent a whooping $50,000 dollars in one night in Las Vegas on gambling and drinking in a strip night club[1][2][3], the report shows he threw away $35,000 in gambling while $15,000 went into drinking alcohol and girls in the club, and do not forget that it is illegal to drink and gamble under the age of 21 in the state of Nevada where they live....

The young lad even posted that night's expenditures on his Twitter account where he said , and I quote....
Quote
"Last night was stupid... 35K at Haze," the University of Central Florida sophomore guard said. "Totals 50K something the whole day."
but according to report, the tweet got deleted.

This (from the articles) I believe happened in 2010, but I believe it's a fresh story for those of us getting to know this for the first time,

What do you make out of this story, should we really allow our children to live such a lifestyle like gambling and night clubbing, most especially, when they are still under aged?

Let's discuss about this..

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree", is what immediately comes to my mind. When a 19-year boy is capable of ruining $50k in a casino in just one night, he basically either doesn't know the cost of that kind of money, or he has an addiction.  Judging by his father, who is clearly a gambling addict, the boy never had the chance to learn about financial management as well as moral values and is clueless about how money is so hard to earn. By the looks of it Michael probably never took some time with his son to teach him that money is hard to earn when you are not a famous player...
551  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com does not deem crypto earnings as legal on: October 15, 2022, 12:16:32 AM
Hello friends, I am a platinum 4 player at stake.

Today my account was suspended and I was asked to submit proof of funds as I am already verified upto level 3 and proof of funds comes in as level 4

I have asked support and they have confirmed that they do not deem any crypto earnings as legal and valid source of income apart from income made through mining. This means if you are a service provider, a seller or simply a trade you cannot provide proof of funds at stake as they only deem mining earnings as legal and everything else is illegal and invalid.

So if you have money at stake.com and you don't have any of these ready (https://help.stake.com/en/articles/5328395-acceptable-documents-for-source-of-funds) , please withdraw your money right now.

It is really confusing why stake is disrespecting people who work hard and earn their money from small crypto tasks

I earn my money from trading, and selling some services and sometimes airdrops and stake tells me I am invalid

Well, if they are asking you to clarify the origin of the deposited funds they must have found something suspicious. Always remember that you can have in your possession "Tainted coins" and this can generate red flags to be raised. For instance, if someone sent you some coins to pay you for a service and these coins were coming from a mixer they can possibly raise an alert. Given that the coins you have deposited may have been identified as already being used for illicit purposes, Stake's Compliance team may be compelled to act.

553  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Ross Ulbricht completou ontem 10 anos de prisão. on: October 13, 2022, 07:45:51 AM

554  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Ross Ulbricht completou ontem 10 anos de prisão. on: October 12, 2022, 08:14:22 PM

555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Casino tokens such as BFG, OWL or TFS on: October 12, 2022, 05:53:00 PM
It looks like all cryptos went down in the past few weeks/months, Bitcoin is down, Ethereum is down.

Among the few ones that actually haven't lost a lot of value are cryptos that represent gambling sites, for instance:

  • BFG for BetFury - they offer currently up to 76% yields per annum on the BFG token that is paid in other cryptos such as USDT, BNB etc.
  • OWL for OwlGames - they offer 43% per annum on their OWL token, their currency has actually went up in value whilst all other cryptos went down - and why? Anyone knows?
  • TFS for FairSpin - not very popular but represents FairSpin, didn't go down in value much either.

Are these things similar to what we had in the 1990s and 2000s before Crypto - like buying "William Hill" or "Ladbrokes" stocks? Is it more or less the same thing just in Crypto?

And why OWL keeps on going up in price? Honestly their site doesn't seem to be very unique or impressive - anyone has a credible explanation who is behind the price rise of that OWL token?!

 Huh

I actualy would not trust this sort of token, or at least I would not put my money on it. I have seen a lot of these tokens come and go and have already lost my time wig a few of them. This has all the ingredients of scam, as the percentages offered are way beyond reality. Before puting your money on any of these tokens you should do your own research
556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google partners with Coinbase to accept crypto payments for cloud service on: October 12, 2022, 07:15:26 AM
Even though coinbase is a centralized exchange, this is huge news! While centralization is one of the most nefarious aspects of the current economic model, we still need to use it to propel bitcoin's mass adoption.
557  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: October 07, 2022, 03:10:57 PM
The site is excellent and all but it lacks the option of allowing users to bet trading. It would be great you guys could consider adding features much as Betfair has. I guess this would greatly increase your platform's user number.

Would adding sports bet trading features be a possibility in the future?
