541  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mycelium or Coinbase wallet on: March 24, 2021, 07:46:53 PM
Welcome to this forum  Wink
First of all, I must assure you that neither of them are really good to use. For most of the people who use Bitcoin here, they are not a Bitcoin wallet. We have a definition, a Bitcoin wallet is a wallet over which you have control it, a Bitcoin wallet is yours if and only if you own the private key or its seed. Do you understand these? Each Bitcoin address has a private key that you are the only person who owns it, the same applies to seed.

With the two wallets you mentioned above, they are just holding your Bitcoins. You are not in control of your BTC. In some cases, you want to make transactions immediately, which is not possible. Because the transaction will be queued in their system and executed when their conditions are met.

Anyway, my advice is Electrum. With it, you really have control over your money  Wink
542  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Bitcoin and usdt for sale on: March 24, 2021, 07:27:10 PM
What's vague about me remembering the password to my wallet after having forgotten it for a while? I'm not forcing anyone to buy, if interested just let me know if not no harm no foul I'll just keep the crypto I'm not too desperate in selling it either way.
Okay, that's my ambiguity about how you present the problem  Wink anyway, if you can have full control of your BTC and you can sell it any time. I will buy it, not all,  i think i can buy some  Wink Now to the important part, what kind of payment do you want to get? Paypal / Neteller? Or anything else? Let me know, I would like to have a quick trade if you trust, or if not, escrow is needed  Wink
543  Other / Meta / Re: Pre-Legendary VS Legendary Merit Stats on: March 24, 2021, 05:33:54 PM
This would show that my initial idea that legendary members receive fewer merits after they rank up is wrong
Yup, personally, I also don't consider the ranks of the members when I read their posts. What I care about is the amount of content and the quality of their posts. I am not a source of merit, but I am also qualified to send merit to someone. And rank has never been a problem.
How do your stats look?
My profile looked pretty bad, received 208, sent 128. Somehow, the number of merits I send is more than half of the merits I receive. It doesn't seem to fit the 2: 1 rule that I knew before. Is it possible that I have received default merit since the merit system came into being?

Also thanks to DdmrDdmr for his statistics, it must have taken a lot of time  Kiss
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: March 24, 2021, 05:25:54 PM
Those who gample with signature rewards, have you ever managed to multiply several times your weekly reward or win huge?
Tried and lost for two weeks, you know, it really hurts me  Cry
And those who have chosen “gamble”, do you gamble on same platform you promote or transfer rewards to a different site? My signature offer only plinko game, but I’m more “mines”/betting guy, and lazy to transfer rewards  Grin That is why I hold.
Usually many people will play in favor of the casino they promote, but others will only play on their familiar casino. I am the third type, I give up gambling  Cheesy
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: March 24, 2021, 04:40:43 PM
Probably not, but I believe 80% of the comments on this topic are slashing (say untrue). I can agree with the idea that they spend some money supporting the casino they are promoting. But if someone says they use all money to gamble, that's a lie, maybe a few weeks, but not all. Some people may see gambling as a way of making money, they will use the money they make weekly to continue. But others won't, instead of gambling, they will hoard it, because money is not a waste if we don't really make more. Me too, gambling can be a hobby, but not a way to make money  Cheesy
546  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PayPal VS robinhood Which is the worst for buying bitcoin? on: March 24, 2021, 08:00:57 AM
Yo boy, I know that, thanks for that, why I suggested op was for him to create something custodial, so to avoid been under the trap of centralisation, the two platforms he suggested to purchase btc does not even allow bitcoin withdrawal. Who knows if op want to hodl Bitcoin for long term since he hasn't stated the reason of purchasing bitcoin.
that's why we're here and advise him on what he should do next  Wink mk4 came up with 2 great suggestions for buying Bitcoin right now
And yes, I've used HodlHodl. It's great because they have their escrow system, but that doesn't guarantee to filter out the scammers. Again, trade with the people with good reputation.
Ya, I will try, hope everything goes well  Cheesy it would be nice if I could find someone to trade on this forum, I went through the currency exchange section but no one can.
To my shame, I'm not experienced in buying Bitcoin anonymous. If you want to buy it with cash and can afford high commission, first thing that comes to my mind is Bitcoin ATM.
It's definitely not a good choice, it's even banned in my city  Cheesy
547  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Bitcoin and usdt for sale on: March 23, 2021, 08:59:11 PM
Not sure if I'm missing something but how are you going to sell those fractions of BTCitcoins without having access to the account in question?
Well, that's exactly what I'm wondering.

I am in need of buying some BTC with my Paypal, and I am aiming for 1: 1 exchange. +2% is also okay if you can sell at least 500 $. However, before a transaction can happen between us, please explain to me what you are trying to say here  Wink How can you access your wallet when you don't remember the password, sounds vague  Roll Eyes
548  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PayPal VS robinhood Which is the worst for buying bitcoin? on: March 23, 2021, 06:47:15 PM
I have just tried to visit these 2 sites to see the rates. For localcrypto, the price difference compared to the market is too great. I cannot accept such large losses in speculation. In the top few offers the spreads go up to 25%. Hodlhodl looks a lot better, maybe I will try to buy there. Now, what I most wonder about is their level of credibility as well as their ability to protect customers. A P2P platform is always a great place to cheat without good protection. Have you ever used Hodlhodl platform? It would be great if you gave me some advice on it  Cheesy

Thank you very much!

It would have been more better if you purchase bitcoin from non-custodial services that would give you private key since you really concerned about that, MEW can let you purchase bitcoin with your credit card, although KYC would be required, what's your take on this.?
You wouldn't want to do KYC if the country you live in prohibits buying and selling Bitcoin  Cheesy Also, those who want to anonymous will never do that. Remember that one of the original purposes of creating Bitcoin was anonymity
549  Other / Meta / Re: [Compilation] All pranks that was made by theymos in every April Fools Day come. on: March 23, 2021, 04:40:49 PM
Maybe we log in & we are effectively carrying somebody else’s username?
It sounds fun, but it would be disastrous, right? If the spoofers know about this, it can be used for fraud. I have an idea that I think it's better. I'll start with your idea. But the difference is this: people themselves won't notice that difference. We will still see our names in every post and also in our profile. But with each other's post, we see that their name has been changed.

For example in this thread, with this post I still see my name unchanged. But you see my name by someone's name, and I see you as Vod  Cheesy How do you think about this?
550  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PayPal VS robinhood Which is the worst for buying bitcoin? on: March 23, 2021, 09:34:09 AM
Just remember, that if you buy Bitcoin on PayPal, you wont be able to transfer them to other platform (exchange, wallet) except PayPal
Is that true? If we buy Bitcoin and cannot move anywhere, then it is not our Bitcoin. It's not buying, it's more like an investment. Too bad if that happens  Roll Eyes

Do you have any ideas for buying BTC using Paypal or Neteller? Or any similar currency. If possible, I would expect it to remain anonymous. Buying BTC with cash is not a good idea, especially if the country you live in has a ban on buying and selling of cryptocurrencies.

Looks like Paypal and Robinhood are not good choices, are there any other options?
551  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time machine/time travel on: March 23, 2021, 07:40:53 AM
Considering how well Bitcoin is able to handle itself, and how carefully the halvings are planned up to the year 2140, I wouldn't be surprised if Satoshi is indeed a time traveller. So he went back to 2009, created Bitcoin, mined about a million of them for himself, and went back to his own time. The big question now is when that is! It could be years or even centuries from now that his old Bitcoins start moving to new addresses.
If your theory is time travel theory, it has a giant hole  Cheesy Dive into your story, if Satoshi comes from the future, he goes back to 2009 to create Bitcoin. So, at his point in the future (2140), who created Bitcoin for him to realize that Bitcoin could be so profitable? And if he is the one who created Bitcoin in the past, he doesn't need time travel. On the contrary, if he wasn't, where is the person who created Bitcoin in his past? How are they interchangeable?
552  Economy / Reputation / Re: My Trust Story on: March 22, 2021, 04:44:56 PM
Maybe this is a sad story, maybe you won't trust that guy again. But as far as I think, there is a difference in the friendships between the people on this forum and the friendship in real life. And even, I believe, the friendship on this forum is never as close as the friendship outside your life. I have a few friends out there, seems close, we have known each other for many years, like you, some years ago when they were in trouble, I lent them. An amount is not too big, but not so small that we can ignore it  Cheesy And you know, it's been a few years, since then, I haven't received any money yet  Roll Eyes We're still in touch though (maybe this is the difference between me and you). Their lives get better, they buy many things, but they still don't think about repaying me  Cheesy Isn't that strange? Even when I had an accident, I was quite in need, but nothing. Do you think I have put the wrong beliefs? Honestly, for me, it's not that important, I don't want the relationship to change because of money, you know. But it would be bad if we were taken advantage, very disappointing  Undecided

Even on this forum and in real life, I never wanted to borrow money from someone, unless I could do nothing else. But there are those who feel it is obvious to borrow money  Undecided

I have a slightly different approach: I know the people I fully trust would never ask me for money. It's also a lot easier to be trustworthy if you don't need money, than when you need money because your kids are hungry.
Also my way of thinking
553  Economy / Exchanges / Re: uniswap - NEVER USE IT WITH SMALL TRANSACTIONS on: March 22, 2021, 01:22:50 PM
Told ya. Tongue
Tongue I'm still in shock
ETH is unusable unless you are dealing with 5 or 6 digits on a regular basis. It's not really an issue with Uniswap, but with the entire network.
Ya, it is possible that it is ETH's problem that the network is congested and the price is too high. But comparing Uniswap to any exchange, this platform fee is 0.02 ETH, much higher than any other exchange. Not entirely ETH, my personal opinion. Uniswap is not really suitable for small transactions  Cheesy
554  Economy / Exchanges / Re: uniswap - NEVER USE IT WITH SMALL TRANSACTIONS on: March 22, 2021, 12:29:00 PM
Guys, I had to reopen this topic to talk about my bad experience today, it shocked me  Undecided I never thought that I would have to pay more than 40$ fee for a transaction.

I have over 16k ESS coin ~ over $140 in ETH (you can see in the image I posted in the post above). In order to sell this ESS, I had to withdraw ETH from Kucoin to my wallet, which costs 0.01 ETH (~$18) as a withdrawal fee. And now, I start to do the transaction, it shows 0.0052 ETH ~ $9 for the network fee (when I approve), after that, it continues to cost almost $40 if I want to swap my ESS to ETH. What the hell is going on? I was really shocked at this fee, d*mn it  Undecided Why are there 2 fees for this transaction? I really can't understand. Total cost I have to pay ~ 18 + 9 + 38 = 65  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!  Lips sealed Lips sealed Lips sealed Lips sealed I only made $ 140 selling my ESS, and spent $ 65 on expenses, so, I only get 75 $ as the final amount, lol. Transaction fees are killing my money  Undecided

This cost can be small for transactions of thousands of dollars, but for those doing small transactions, never use Uniswap, don't use it, bad experience. Maybe I should head towards direct deals in the future  Smiley
555  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who will accept visa gift card on: March 22, 2021, 12:00:03 PM
About Paxful, I have friends really complaining about the risk associated with selling gift cards on such platform, maybe this is limited to my area, but people are the ones buying and selling such cards (p2p), I am not sure if organizations are buying it too on the platform which would be safer? But people are so dubious, they can check unused gift card and tell the seller it is used. Some people (buyer) can have a reputed account on the platform, but the seller is more at risk in this case scenario. This is just to inform OP about the risks involved if someone is in the selling position.
The risks of trading on a person to person platform are a matter of course. What a platform can do is give their users maximum support to minimize phishing, it cannot be completely prevented. However, that is not really a big problem, if I remember correctly, to protect my interests, buyers can record video from the time of receiving the giftcard to using the gift card. It will be proof to protect them.

A bigger problem I had was transaction execution. New accounts often do not have a chance to access good offers, and if they do, sellers are likely to ignore them. No one is interested in newbies, they are only interested in longtime users who may be reputable (although those account is usually sold). It took me over a week to wait and buy the gift card there, but I didn't receive anything  Roll Eyes I gave up
556  Economy / Exchanges / Re: uniswap - Has anyone used this exchange yet? on: March 22, 2021, 10:44:48 AM
Thanks for all! I solved the problem, somehow, MetaMask was not working on my browser. I tried to install MetaMask on my phone. And then, I was able to approve the transaction  Cheesy But, right now, I lack ETH as a transaction fee. I have some ETH on Binance, but the withdrawal fee is 0.008 ETH, which is quite painful  Roll Eyes

Anyway, thanks everyone for the help! I will close this topic here. Hope everyone peace!
557  Economy / Exchanges / Re: uniswap - Has anyone used this exchange yet? on: March 22, 2021, 06:32:09 AM
Hey guys, I hope you can help me more  Cheesy I used MetaMask and connected this wallet to Uniswap, everything went very smoothly until I started the exchange. I chose 2 currencies to exchange, checked the contract and everything is correct. But I cannot swap. "Approve ESS" button pops up, but I can't click it. I clicked it many times but nothing happened, and the "Swap" button didn't show up, I guess I had to get through the first step, but I couldn't. What should I do now?
558  Economy / Exchanges / Re: uniswap - Has anyone used this exchange yet? on: March 22, 2021, 05:19:33 AM
Just be aware that ETH fees are through the roof and Uniswap is VERY expensive to be used. Expect at least $20~40 for a single token swap (even higher if the network is congested). Using it is easy, just select the two tokens you want to swape and confirm.
Transactions will be executed remotely. Everything is OK with the exchange except the currently high Ethereum gas fees.
Ya, sounds great to use, aside from transaction fees, lol  Cheesy I had a transaction of buying some ETH yesterday, I only bought nearly $ 10 (as a transaction fee of my exchange), and I have to incur an extra $ 4 for the fee to buy that amount  Roll Eyes This is crazy  Roll Eyes But as both of you say, it seems 10$ is not enough for exchange fee, it started to get worse  Roll Eyes

Anyway, I will try to experience it now, I may need more of your help in the future  Cheesy Thank you both!
559  Economy / Exchanges / Re: uniswap - Has anyone used this exchange yet? on: March 21, 2021, 06:32:05 PM
MEW isn't supported on most (if not all) dapps. You will have to use MetaMask or any other wallet shown on the popup. Just download their extension and import your wallet there.
Does this mean that all the options there are safe to use, right? Probably out of habit, I use MEW from its early days until now, and I have not used any other. Maybe I should try using MetaMask as your suggestion  Cheesy Have you used this exchange yet? I don't really know how it works yet, I don't know how I get money from it, lol  Cheesy
560  Economy / Exchanges / uniswap - NEVER USE IT WITH SMALL TRANSACTIONS on: March 21, 2021, 06:20:01 PM
Hello everyone! I have a big question and I think I need your help - treasures trove of knowledge in this forum.

Has anyone of you ever used uniswap.org? Story here: I have an altcoin that is at good value, and I am looking to sell it. But after consulting its market price on Coinmarketcap, the only place I can trade it is Uniswap, which I have never heard of or used before. But since its transaction volume is quite large, I think it's safe, isn't it?

Now, let's get to the main point  Cheesy I don't know how to use this exchange. After tinkering for a bit, I knew I needed to connect it to my wallet. I usually use MEW(myetherwallet.com) to access my ETH wallet. And this means I need to connect it to MEW. But, the truth is there is no option for MEW here (I will leave it in the image below). So, the question I need is answered here: How do I connect it to MEW? Or, can I use another option to access my ETH wallet?

I think I need quick answers from you guys. If I wait too long, the value of the altcoin I am looking for can drop rapidly. Nobody wants to lose a lucrative money, right? Waiting for the response from everyone and thanks for your time here  Cheesy

NO MEW OPTION
