The idea so far in case of implementation of "iceberg"-type orders would cause dark orders to stay completly separate from the rest of the market, and iceberg orders to appear. The things that I'll have to define are: - The extra fee for iceberg orders
- The minimum visible part (in %)
The idea is that there will be no minimum for placing iceberg orders, so anyone will be able to place one. The dark pool would then be something totally unrelated.

At this point, votes are:
Keep it as is 19 (29.7%) Keep it, but remove "dark+normal" option 7 (10.9%) Remove it 35 (54.7%) Limit it to specific users 3 (4.7%)
I'm resetting the votes and adding an option for nanotube's "iceberg order".

The goal is to get rid of the $800 minimal. I do not know the exact final conditions as I'm still reviewing/negiciating contracts with various institutions, however you can be sure that the goal is to provide a cheaper way for everyone to get funds in and out of mtgox ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Mark

Thanx a lot for your explanation. You made it sound really important and hard to live without =D
That was the original idea. However the result is not exactly what was expected... maybe? (hard to tell what would have happened without the dark pool)

This is a poll about the MTGox dark pool. The original goal of the dark pool was to allow people willing to trade large quantities of bitcoins to avoid having a too large impact on the market. While it seems indeed that dark pool orders have none to little impact, this has caused a big reduction of orders visible to people, reducing the visibility and trust of the market. Additionally, mixed orders (dark+normal) makes it impossible for someone to trade while having a full visibility of the market. So, before I take any decision, I'll try to get some feedback first, and I guess I'm at the perfect place for this. This poll is just to see what you, as users, think, and it's not because option X or Y wins that it will happen. You are also encouraged to discuss the possibilities, and even give options that are not listed here. The poll is set to end in 7 days (around April 15th depending on where you live). So, here are the various possible options: Keep the dark pool as isI guess I don't need to explain much about this one. It'll still include some bugfixes. Keep the dark pool, but make remove "dark+normal" optionThe main point here is to avoid dark pool orders from hitting normal orders. This'll allow normal traders to not have to fear they'll hit some invisible order while trying to buy or sell bitcoins. Keep the dark pool and implement iceberge orders instead of "dark+normal"See more details on nanotube's post: http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5564.msg83075#msg83075Remove the dark poolThis would mean completly removing the dark pool. All orders placed there will be automatically cancelled, and users will be free to either place orders again on the normal pool, or withdraw their funds/bitcoins. Limit it to specific usersLimiting the dark pool to users under specific conditions might be a good option too. The idea would be to define a set of restrictions (e.g. must have at least 2500$ funds in usd/btc, request access and explain motivations, be identified, etc) and advantages (less transaction fees?) Anyway please provide some feedback. The goal is to improve everyone's trading conditions. I might be worrying for nothing since I likely only get feedback from worried people, so feedback is welcome.

Hi,
Regarding LR we had problems because LR API was partially down, and I'm busy checking manually each order to see if they were indeed forgotten, and try to find whose money are those. The timing was bad however since I was setting up euro transfer payments at the same time, which caused delays to people requesting withdraws at the same time.
All that to say that things should be back to normal shortly, we'll get those LR payments sorted too.

Great job Magical Tux! This will definitely make it easier to get funds into BitCoins.
And (hopefully) improve the bitcoin market ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

After switching trading to EUR, will you allow withdrawal of the currently USD denominated balance to European banks?
Yep, we will. We might however apply change fees after a while (the idea will be to promote the EUR market to EUR users)
|
|
|
What is the procedure exactly ? Should we still warn you first via email before making the wire ? Should we wait for confirmation between the email and the wire ?
Hi, You do not need to do anything. Just make sure your SEPA transfer includes the right comment ("MTGOX xxxx"). If you make a mistake here, your transfer may be credited to someone else. Once we receive the transfer, an email is automatically sent. We check for new transfers every 3 hours. Mark

Yeah, noticed it already! Great job! Going certainly to make use of it.
[edit] Just to confirm, EURO withdrawal has still a 2% fee, right? [/edit]
Hi, The withdrawal fee hasn't changed, however withdraws are now automated too. Mark

Hi, Just a heads up to let everyone know that euro transfers to mtgox are now free and 100% automated. You send euros via a SEPA transfer, and your funds are credited as soon as received in USD (no exchange fees for the EUR=>USD transfer, we use raw ECB rate). Addition of euro market is currently under progress (release before end of april if things are OK), and when done euro funds will be added to a euro balance, but in the meantime you can add funds to MTGox without fees! BE CAREFUL, this means that the transfer informations for mtgox have changed. Please visit page "Add Funds" for details! Various other improvements are planned, including a new design. Mark * The "no exchange fees" part refers to the fact we assume we'll also get withdraws from the euro account that will - more or less - match the received amounts - and also to the fact we want to promote bitcoins!

I'm looking for a web designer for a new version of mtgox.com. Payment is made of bitcoins, amount is negociable. The requirements are : - Must have good design skills
- I want you to produce HTML/CSS/JS, not PSD. This announce is for both the design *and* the html coding. I want you to actually code a bit in a specific template language (if, foreach, etc) because I'm lazy.
![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) - Ideally I'd like to have someone who can stay around and continue working on improving the site/adding new features
- If you already know about mtgox, it'll help
![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)
The idea is to improve the design on the mtgox website, and to add some features. Some pages will need changes to add new features (such as bank info input on withdraw, or multiple currency support). You can send your infos/price/portfolio/etc to info@mtgox.com or comment on this thread (I'll update this post if extra info is available).

Any delays on incoming money?
I sent some to check the exact EUR conversion rate and how long a transfer takes.
Just BTW: the symbol '#' appears to not be allowed in SEPA transfers? MtGox asked me to add a message that includes the symbol. I used a space instead.
Yep, I noticed afterward that the # symbol was not good in SEPA transfers, and the site has been already updated ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Hi,
Actually it's even something else. We are changing the euro payment system to make deposits free, and waiting for the funds to be transfered from the old account to the new account.
Withdraws will be processed starting this time.

Hi,
Just for info the transfer was indeed located and processed, everything shoud be fine.

Hi,
As you may know, we are now based in Japan. We didn't expect to have earthquake/tsunami/nuclear trouble (pick one or more) and this has caused some delays in handling transactions.
Rest assured that we are still doing fine (except we are now working with limited hardware and moved temporarly away from Tokyo) and that transactions will be handled within the next hours (I just added this to the list of things to do in priority).
Thanks, Mark

Hello all,
For information the fact I took over mtgox also means this issue will now be solved by my company. We are currently running an internal investigation based on all the elements so far, and will take an action as soon as we can.
We cannot disclose details about the investigation itself, however if this goes to trial, I'll try to get the final decision published.
In the meantime there is unfortunately little to discuss. We will however implement additionnal (and optional) features on mtgox to ensure this cannot happen easily again (one of the first features will be the double password: you will be able to set a different password for login and withdraw).

You forgot one:
"Price of bitcoin will raise accordingly"

|
And what happened to the 45k blocked ?
This issue is still being investigated. I'll contact Baron myself to find a resolution over this issue. For what I understand, the blocked funds are part of the deal ? The issue is part of mtgox. The situation is a bit suspicious and it may take some time to find out exactly what happened, but it will be addressed in priority.
