Should I wait for coinmarket to come back online or should I just buy mint right now on mintpal?

Why are you buying at the high

Selling this coin now could result in full retardedness.

Selling at the high is retarded?

700 Million coin premine ...  Huh

anyone going to explain this ...

If this is a real question and you are not just trolling this thread then it's right on the announcement page "  - 1% premine for bounties, giveaways, development, support and maintenance, new feature developments etc."

And if you have been visiting the giveaway pages and this forum you would see that this is exactly where that coin has been going. We have had our share of scam coins for sure, but the new scam is the newbies offering IPOs without anyone vouching. Stackcoin dev made away with 60 BTC last night. So if you are indeed trying to rip at Mint for the development fund it procured, you are misdirecting your skepticism. There's a few dozen other coins that could use your scrutiny.

Im not trolling, I've bought a handful but hesitate to buy more until I hear from the dev team about the premine.
Not looking for a general response either, but something more detailed like:

- Giveaways - 50 million (3 given, 47 left)
- Bounties - 200 million  (5 - website, 195 left for mobile wallet, MINT/Fiat exchange, promo video, media coverage etc..)
- Foundation - 50 million
- MintCoin Lead - 200 million
- Developer - 200 million

I'm asking for transparency and would prefer to hear from the dev himself...
As an investor I think I deserve that right.

Here is the the block explorer for block #1, you can see it's been moved around already:

Do you not think in 2-3 weeks when you cannot mine anymore, and the only way to get Mint is to buy it that this issue wont come up??

Why can't we just stop bothering with premined coins?

I agree, 1% is fair.

No, I mean. Why the hell are you idiots still falling for PREMINED coins? You know it doesn't take that much money to start up a cryptocurrency endeavor right? You're literally giving a couple guys ALL the power. Especially with the fact that their premine is going to increase a considerable amount with the inflation factor of this PoS(piece of shit) coin. Seriously, this coin and the algo(which originated in Peercoin btw) sucks ass.

Btw, as of right now that premine is worth 76.5k(if they could sell it all at once). This coin will obviously get dumped soon. This growth margin is unnatural.

If it goes back to 10 I'm gunna buy 1 BTC worth
I had 1.6 or 1.7 million MINT today when I woke up. That was worth ~0.25@15 sat. Now I have almost 0.5, I really hope I can buy some more and then sell a bit higher before I go to bed Grin

Don't be chasing your tail!
Get in on the interest-bearing coin vehicle ride!

The only coin out there that pays to HOARD!

Sell all your other shitcoins and buy one that matters, one that is different, one that has incentive to HOARD! for longevity.

Stop shilling please.

Hello there MintCoin community. What a ride the last 24 hours have been! We are all feeling pumped aren't we?

I just sold all my MintCoin today, there has been so much volume come through driving up this price the last 24hrs (420+ Bitcoins or $240,000 cash money) that it is simply unsustainable. A quarter million dollars of mostly buys is certainly likely done by a big player or syndicate. If it is a true long-term investor, he will not keep buying this way as he knows he has inflated his buy price to obtain such a huge amount of coins. If it is a 'pump-n-dump' scam group like Wolong that the crypto-lemmings are so fond of, well, then things could get pretty ugly.

Exactly the same thing happened with Vertcoin when it was around the same market cap (1 million dollars). It then exploded up to $7 million dollars market cap in 3 days when it was added to more exchanges. This coin also has the added advantage of sharply decreasingly block rewards which will limit miners dumping each week plus it will promote the belief that the price will rise as the coin becomes rarer.

I've been in this community a long time. I know a snowballing coin when I see one.

Yep,  I bought into Mint yesterday in the 7 range right before liftoff.   I discovered a real gem!  (I think)

Why a new coin holder like me is excited:
-New and different from the rest.
-Combines the best of PPC and DOGE.
-Level Roll-out
-New website/logo
-Encouragement to hoard.
-Dividend paying

This is the only investment grade coin!   I give it a Triple A rating with a price target that competes with Doge and makes a PPC owner wish they had some.
Investment grade coin bucks the trend.  All arrows are red and pointing down except the "HOARDING COIN"  Where it pays to Hoard.
Why people will be buying it after March 15th?  Cause it will pay out interest/ dividends.

This coin stands tall and far apart from the others.

Thanks for the great welcoming from the BipolarTrader!   Long strong and a MINT HOARDER.  I don't care if it goes lower or higher, buying everyday till March!

This is my retirement.  Its like an annuity.  Or stock in a BlueChip!

Where is all this coin shit going:   Well, Wall Street needs a way to issue Stock of companies w/o the need for Naked Short Selling.  This system makes sure there is no Naked Selling.   All stocks of company will be issued this way.  Keep the tech moving!
Thanks from a Wall Street Trader.    Yah, the Bipolar trader, looking for the interest bearing hedge.  Thanks MintCOIN!

You clearly don't. With the rapidly decreasing reward, the value of early mined coins will become extremely valuable in comparison to when they were first mined. Meaning this coin is very prone to pump n' dumps which is precisely what's happening right now.

Who is pumping this so hard?

I think this coin is *insanely* under valued.  I'm already moving to buy more.  I think MINT will find itself a nice niche as a tier 2 or 3 coin.  Worth WAY more than it is now.

Have you all really never heard of Peercoin? http://www.peercoin.net/

Mintcoin is just a clone of this, Peercoin coin is already "tier 3"

Uhh, we are trying to get rich ourselves here, not pay off early PPC investors. Welcome to the alt coin section.

Well good luck getting Mintcoin to surpass Peercoin

Who is pumping this so hard?

or it we finally have a coin that makes sense - if you think about the power required to keep bitcoin going or any PoW coin - it is a waste of electricity

and based on the "difficulty" algorithm - when PoW mining drops - the coin should still work with out issue

I hope you know "peercoin" already exists... Anyway, it's not a waste of electricity if its making money and fighting fiat. By your logic everything you own is superfluous.

A bit upset because MINT is a real coin, with great value, and does something interesting?  Yes, keep mining your clone coins.

Please move along your a bore.

I can't even call you a troll cuz other trolls would be insulted. You suck at this so move along and mine your kittehcoin

why such hate?

People tend to think illogically when under the belief that they'll be making a lot of money.

Why so much hype over an inflationary coin?

Edit: that encourages holding

Edit: that you can't earn unless you go through the complicated process of buying after the 5 week period

I can't even call you a troll cuz other trolls would be insulted. You suck at this so move along and mine your kittehcoin

I'm asking a legitimate question. People need to realize that they're getting sucked into shitcoins time and time again.

Coins like this aren't suitable for the mainstream or long term.

No, because I can mine this coin. I haven't mined since Dogecoin, which I made a grand off of. Anyway, why don't you come up with a good point rather than responding in an aggressive manner?

Oh and, MINT is a copy of Peercoin jack ass

Why so much hype over an inflationary coin?

because inflationary coins are needed over the long term to promote spending plus PoS is a future ready consensus method almost impossible to attack

You earn more if you hold, encourages everyone to be hoarders. Plus this thing has a damn premine

Also, after 5 weeks you're telling me mining is pretty much impossible and you have to buy in? Yeah this will be great for getting the mainstream interested.
There are ALOT of people out there that don't know how to mine or don't have the hardware to mine.
They can buy some mint and see them grow without any mining.
Try to do that with a POW coin

Try to get randoms to go through the complicated process of purchasing an inflating currency? Ehh...
558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin With a Fast Distribution *6 Exchanges on: February 20, 2014, 05:49:21 PM
I overlooked MintCoin in the first week of its release and started mining in the second week.

If nothing else this coin will make for an excellent proof-of-work experiment, although I can see MintCoin being quite valuable in the future.

A large ongoing proof-of-stake percentage of this coin should really be given away to as many people as possible via social media.

If MintCoin is to act as a true currency then its distribution must be increased. Without increased distribution held coins will have a more limited value and its economy could stagnate not long after the proof-of-work phase is completed.

Early adopters and miners of this coin need to recognize that in terms of total future money supply they are perhaps holding the equivalent of a central bank or small / medium nation state in the long-term.

I ran a distribution model and the forecast for MintCoin is looking really rather good if many initial holders were to donate / giveaway around half of their staked coin profit to new potential users i.e. at least 50% of the 20% (in the 1st year) onwards ... So, 10% or less (or more!) or whatever you you can afford.

The wider population both understands and likes to get interest on their 'money', especially 'high' fixed rates of interest that are guaranteed. Thus, putting a few MintCoins into the hands of as many people as possible is going to create good demand. People will be saying: "Yes. MintCoin works and 20% (even 5%) is a better rate of interest than my bank on my money. I think I'll buy myself some MintCoin!" , "Got to speculate to accumulate"... etc.

The energy saving feature is also obviously a good selling point.

A wide free distribution of around 20 to 200 coins per. person is probably about the right amount. This could decrease against the PoS reward over time i.e. 15 to 150 in the second year etc. This coin (and others like it) could bring a really bright future for crypto-currency in general.

Alms to the crypto-poor - give and you shall receive !   Smiley

This. Enough FUD, funny how in every alt-coin thread in existence there's always someone moaning about pre-mine, whether it exists or not. Concentrate your efforts on promoting the coin if you hold some, you'd be only doing yourselves a disservice if you help in corroding the same coin you're holding - don't be that stupid

Usually the complaining about pre-mining is done right away Cheesy

Mintcoin is going to the MOON!  Grin

I hear this shit in every new premine coin thread. "IT'S GOING TO THE MOON!!! DONT WORRY ABOUT THE PREMINE". Please stop.
559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin With a Fast Distribution *6 Exchanges on: February 20, 2014, 05:42:33 PM
This implies that the premine is actually 19,4% after one year, which is obscene. This will undermine the coins chance to succeed. Let's all together put pressure on the dev to make public all the spent premine coins. Or even better: let him destroy the premine.

Please understand that having premine is crucial for coin success. This is not DOGE where hype got it going. Most coins need injection of funds to get any kind of attention, because theres more that 300 alt coins on the market already.
If premine is used correctly it does not hurt coin in any way. Instead, it can be extremely useful for coins success.

That's absolute bullshit, running a crypto-currency isn't even that expensive. You're looking at an under 500 dollar investment if your dev team falters in some areas. That 1% premine right now is worth over 25k, or a third of the total volume this coin is currently trading.
