541  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: waiting to buy lower? on: November 12, 2022, 05:43:29 PM
People are waiting to buy lower, but what if you're wrong and this is the bottom?

You never know what's going to happen next.

I was waiting for something that is related to Solana where there would be a big unstaking that would took effect at epoch 370 where 28.5M SOL would be expected to unstake. Was about to short SOL that time though, but they have decided to postpone it thus kinda bearish and may affect the crypto market as the whales may create FUD for everyone. But we just simply don't know if it would really happen or not, because there are no promises or guarantees when it comes to the result.

Not sure if this is already the bottom, but we will see.
542  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX has been hacked, delete the app, don't go to website on: November 12, 2022, 05:31:02 PM
According to some people in social media, FTX has been hacked and users who have the app installed in their phones might be at risk for malware if they update this. It will be safer to delete it. It is also adviced to avoid going to the site because there might be trojans.

This is a public service announcement and I created this thread here in main bitcoin subforum on purpose where it will be seen by more people. Moderators can delete or move this thread later.

I don't have FTX app installed in all of my devices neither having an account and having funds there. But I see some of my Facebook friends, even the famous Filipino Axie influencer Kookoo himself have lost a lot of money in FTX and I know how it feels.

This is why I would never ever going to store funds in exchanges, not even the juggernaut named Binance. This is such unfortunate that is happening to those who have invested and having their funds on FTX that affected the entire crypto market.
543  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies: Stay away and avoid all bounties! on: November 11, 2022, 08:01:10 PM
99% of all bounties are wasting a time for both sides, hunters and owners.
About bounty worthless, I would rather say that it is due to the poor quality of the project itself. on top of all that the whole project starts without start-up capital or with a very small amount, no wonder the prizes are worthless.

I have taken a very long break participating in bounties (except the one I have in my signature who is paying consistently and steadily). But of course, bounties are the reason why it kickstarted my crypto career years ago, so I'll never forget where I actually came from. A bounty hunter.

Gone are the glory days of 2017 where any bounty gives us huge money to cashout. But it doesn't mean that all bounties are trash, but most of them are. We just have to dig deeper and find a gem there despite the risks for both time and money.
544  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX Finally Files For Bankruptcy After Binance Refused Bailout on: November 11, 2022, 07:55:55 PM
This is happening at a very bad time. The market has been down for a long time now, and just when things were getting a little bit better, then this news.
It's really not good at all. Many newcomers who are just beginning to get interested in cryptocurrency will definitely be having a second thoughts.
I feel very bad for the investors also.

So looks like the chances of bull run this December isn't gonna be likely considering this latest happening of FTX's bankruptcy. This is why I would never going to store my crypto in exchanges. Not even in Binance even if it's so popular and widely used.

Slowly but surely, CZ is starting to take down big competitors like FTX. So I just don't know who's next on the list? Time will tell.
545  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 Bear Market Mistakes to Avoid on: November 09, 2022, 09:04:35 PM
Losing money on investing is a frightening proposition. However, you can protect your money and reduce stress in a falling market by avoiding five common pitfalls made by crypto investors.

Panic
Putting in Emotional Efforts
Investing short-term
Overtrading
Mental Health

Learn More: https://mycryptoparadise.com/5-common-mistakes-to-avoid-during-a-crypto-bear-market/

Even if we are so experienced already in these bearish situations, we are still vulnerable if market continues to worsen just like what we are experiencing now with the Binance-FTX issue. Worse is if Binance's Changpeng Zhao changes his mind not to acquire FTX to save it.

Since I have been doing DCA since May, all of them are at a loss but I still believe that it can recover without knowing when will it actually happen. I don't believe we have reached the bottom yet, most likely we may go even lower as the storm continues on for FTX users trying to panic withdraw their assets.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Falls To Sub-$17,000 After the FTX Exchange Demise on: November 09, 2022, 08:59:59 PM
Today Bitcoin fell to below $17,000. How much lower will it go before it bounces back from the fallout?

Twitter of all places was where FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried claimed the business was solvent whereas Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao claimed the opposite and pulled out of a potential deal to buy out (or bail out) FTX.

It is looking like a disaster for those that bought Bitcoin for $30,000, $40,000, $50,000+ but what about all those FTX token holders and the losses they will incur, they will be huge too.

Relying on any one exchange to conduct so much business (FTX) has pitfalls when things go wrong as they regularly do. Binance might have the financial might at the moment to be a massive player in crypto but one day the castle CZ built could also crumble. Imagine what the losses would amount to the day Binance gets hacked again.

As for Bitcoin, the price will bounce up and down then steady before the next big news makes the price bounce all over again and the cycle continues.

Now we're close to hit below $16k as of this time of writing. I just don't know how long will it go down further, but it will be a big win for those who have shorted BTC, ETH, FTX, etc. Will be holding on to my BTC and ETH now though despite all of them are at a loss since I've started doing DCA.

We won't likely going to see a major bull run before the year ends, so most likely we stay bearish for long.
547  Economy / Economics / Re: MONEY IS THE MOTIVATING FACTOR, what do you think? on: November 08, 2022, 01:10:44 PM
We cannot avoid that money would play a role for us to keep going and getting motivated on what we do. There are people who can’t seem to be happy and motivated to continue working because of their poor financial status.

But at the same time, we are also not happy and easily get bored if we just work for something that is not giving us the passion, excitement, etc., despite receiving at least a decent amount of money every day, week, month or so.

For us to sustain, we must balance both passion and money. Never quit from your boring job to fully focus on your passion. That is my biggest mistake back then years ago where I quit my high paying job to chase my passion, but in the end I cannot sustain myself and got broke.

You must be financially stable and established first before you can fully enjoy what you’ve been passionate on.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get Bitcoin Holdings for your child from infant. on: November 08, 2022, 12:44:23 PM
Inheritance is something we all wanted, especially for Bitcoin. The problem however is on how you secretly keep the seed phrases or private keys for the next generation to figure themselves out, especially in terms of calamities.

Writing them down on a piece of paper or notebook won’t work in the long run, because it can be damaged by fire or water and the ability to access will be gone forever. Engraving them in an aluminum steel would do, but where would you keep it?

Maybe in a safe aluminum steel box with a sign “Don’t open until Day/Month/Year” and giving them some out of the box clues about the passcode that even intruders may find it hard to decipher or so.

Just my opinion only.
549  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are different way to earn money through Bitcoin on: November 07, 2022, 05:14:15 PM
Can anyone earn Free Bitcoin Without Investing in it.

You say without investing? There's a couple I have in mind which are asking for donations and completing a job and getting paid in Bitcoin. Maybe GPT (get-paid-to) websites would do, but they won't last long and you would be lucky if you have cashed out at least once.

As for the rest like mining, trading, etc., they're not free ways to earn Bitcoin.
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can we see a huge rise in the price of Dogecoin ? on: November 07, 2022, 05:05:15 PM
Elon Musk is a big supporter of Dogecoin and has promoted it multiple times. Now he also owns Twitter where he has many times pushed different crypto projects and caused big fluctuations in the price of different crypto coins.

So is it possible that he will use the ownership title of Twitter to push the prices of Dogecoin also ? I have observed some increase in prices already but will it continue for long run ? Do you think one should bet on this event and spend good amount of money on dogecoin for reaping the benefits later ? Or we should not rely on a man like Elon Musk who has made contradictory statements about bitcoin is past? Which side are you ?

I'm not saying that a huge rise of DOGE may not happen at all, because we all believe that nothing is impossible. But the reality nowadays is that we just simply do not know when that will happen next? Elon Musk have already done that before, but I don't think his next plan of hype won't impact much on DOGE's price anymore. That's just my opinion of course.
551  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Pulsuhan niyo naman ito: Boracay, binabalak na gawing Crypto-Island on: November 06, 2022, 01:24:12 PM
source: https://beincrypto.com/crypto-wallet-provider-philippines-resort-boracay-bitcoin-island/

Ayun dito, isang cryptowallet company named "Pouch" ang nagbabalak gawing Bitcoin Island ang Boracay.
Sa parehong article, sabi dito na may 120 businesses na ang tumatanggap ng Bitcoin as a form of payment sa Isla.

I am not from Visayas, so baka naman po may makapagvalidate ng info na to. TIA

552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin payment implementing at the Bitcoin Island(BORACAY) on: November 06, 2022, 01:00:31 PM
My sister is currently in Boracay Island now with her husband and friends and I've asked her to find that Pouch.ph store if she has the time.

Well she said yes.

This is the photo she took earlier.

This photo was originally taken from my sister's iPhone.

So it's a big signage along with the iconic Bitcoin logo. Due to her limited time, she didn't have a chance to go to the store and ask for the prices (especially the barber shop).

I'm having plans to go there maybe next month or January 2023 to feature this on my Youtube channel and interview the owner as well as recording while I get a haircut and pay via Bitcoin lightning.

553  Economy / Economics / Re: Is long-term employee retention a losing battle? on: November 05, 2022, 01:53:28 PM
Years ago, I worked as a full-time virtual customer relations manager in a foreign-owned VA company. I left because not only that I am very stressed of the work, but the boss himself isn’t taking care of his employees very well. He is not open to our suggestions, ideas, etc., that would have changed the game for the company, but he is so close-minded.

Plus, there are times that I needed to work 16 hours because of the absence of my co-manager like he doesn’t if I’m sick. He just only cares about our performance, revenues, number of orders, reaching quota, etc. I only lasted 5 months with them.

Afterward, I noticed that some of my co-employees also left the company until the project itself failed and closed. Relationship really matters between the employer and employees. It’s the most important thing to hold on rather than just money-related. It’s all about the boss being open-minded and being a down to earth and approachable person to give employees the opportunity to grow and not just being treated like “bots”.
554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Freedom of speech soon to become a mirage. Will Bitcoin still be here by 2030? on: November 05, 2022, 01:33:34 PM
These are just predictions so we may not know if it does going to happen or not. Imagine if we live in a country like China and North Korea that doesn’t have the freedom of speech. We would be living a miserable life where our decisions and future are being fully controlled by the government and other central entities.

The only one that I am most concerned about though is the first one “You own nothing and you’ll be happy”. I don’t know what they really mean though, maybe monetary related stuff like Bitcoin? Or maybe our real life assets, properties, etc.?

Regardless of the outcome, Bitcoin is here to stay and there’s no way the government or any central authority can control it ever and it will never perish.

555  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My exorbitant lessons in last bull market on: November 04, 2022, 01:12:52 PM
1. I watch YouTube videos of people gambling on meme coins with just 100$ and making thousands of dollars, I did the same and I ended up with tokens that I can't sell on an exchange, buying works but not selling.

I'm definitely not saying that people should try it (because 99% of people shouldn't), but this strategy can work. You just seemed to have picked crappy meme coins. Can't blame you though, pretty hard to look for the next DOGE or SHIB in the huge black sea of memecoins.

Well I can relate to that during the meme coin hype. I have picked crappy meme coins to invest to see if I have positioned very well, but it’s not. As they’re designed not to last long, I was just waiting for the right time to sell at a profit.

But the problem is that I am fed up to greediness that I want more profit, but instead it goes the other way around and I’ve lost a lot of money. I think out of 10 crappy meme coins, only 2 of them that I have profited but not much to cover my losses.
556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if she receives Bitcoin as gift on: November 04, 2022, 01:07:28 PM
The world is revolving really faster and everything is becoming digital everytime I open my eyes. The way we do things last 5 to 10 years is becoming completely different to this recent time. We are in the era of digital currency where Bitcoin is having a great influence on our lives.

I have a sister and a female friend that will be celebrating their birthday soon and I'm thinking of getting them something unimaginable. Since their is not as much adoption of Bitcoin from women, I thought of giving my sister and a friend Bitcoin as birthday gifts. Although i know it might sounds odd or uncommon to us but I think this will help them a lot and the awareness of Bitcoin because they will end up telling their friends and the friends telling more friends.

All women want to be loved more on their birthdays receiving precious gifts from love ones. Bitcoin is more precious to me than mere gifts that will end up not appreciating in values. How are you going to feel if you receive something that could improve yyour financial life as a birthday? Holding this asset(Bitcoin) for few year from now can become a game changer for her when other gifts might have lost value.

Why I choose Bitcoin over other gifts

- Bitcoin can appreciate more in value with time.
- It is secure and private.
- It is fast and easy to transact.
- Can be a great asset that can change her financial status.

How I planned to do it

- I will educate them on what Bitcoin, Blockchain, wallet and other necessary things.
- Guide on how to create a crypto wallet by themselves.
- Get their Bitcoin wallet addresses.
- Send them affordable Bitcoin on their birthday.
- Contineous briefing on safety, and what cryptocurrency is all about.

I am looking forward to better ways to do this.
 Thanks!

I gifted my sister $100 worth of ETH last year when it was hovering around $2k. She also likes to invest on Bitcoin but wants to go all-in. But I told her not to because it’s very risky if she will convert all of her savings into Bitcoin.

She knows that investing in BTC it’s like investing in stocks but in a decentralized and easy way. I only educated her about risk management since she is not interested into technical stuff.
557  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: UNIONBANK WILL OFFER CRYPTO EXHANGE SOON? on: November 03, 2022, 01:02:59 PM
Unionbank is doing great in embracing and adopting cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology dito sa Pinas. Kahit neutral stance tayo because of the BSP governor’s previous statements about not banning nor interested in regulating it, we are one of the crypto friendliest countries sa buong mundo.

Instead na mag follow suit sa BDO, BPI at iba pang banks na anti-crypto, mas pinili nila na i-adopt ito dahil nakita nila ang opportunity at hindi sila magpahuli.
558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the bear market over? on: November 03, 2022, 01:00:03 PM
Only the crypto market can answer that for you and Bitcoin would be our main indicator. We just don’t know what would happen to the market the next hour, day, week or so. It’s very unpredictable and highly volatile.

So we’re not out of the woods yet unless a big rally happens anytime without warning.
559  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No social media is safe on: November 03, 2022, 12:54:09 PM
In other words, we need to do our due diligence and use common sense. Learn how to have a second thought mentality rather than just simply believing on what your “fake friend” has offered you.

Also learn how to always double, triple or multiple check the links and social media handles that were shared to you to see if they are legit or not. In my case when a scammer attempts to scam me with his ridiculous post trying to collaborate with me, I usually go to the official Discord or Telegram to verify it to the admins if this guy is indeed working with them or not.

If yes, then we continue the collaboration. If not, I’ll automatically block that person.
560  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Bitcoin And Ethereum Strategy In 2022 on: November 02, 2022, 08:05:05 AM
There is no other effective strategy other than holding and/or DCA (dollar-cost averaging) for me when it comes to Bitcoin and Ethereum. Day trading would be another strategy, but that's not my forte as I am a long term thinker and not skilled in technical analysis or so.

My mistake back then was losing hope early on Bitcoin before the big bull run in 2020. I could have made a lot to be honest during that time, but it was stupid for me to let it all go. But ever since I came back and started DCA'ing on Bitcoin, there's no looking back now as long I have extra "not beer" money.
