The fact that they have allot of bitcoins gives credence to the possibility that they have been active since 2010 and have mined allot. Could of been their source of funding throughout.

I was trying to follow backwards the transaction and they own quite allot of addresses containing balances.
542  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 03:18:20 PM
Trying to figure out who is the recipient of the 200BTC CedarTec paid.

The person collects free bitcoins from free bitcoin services.
The person mines on different pools.
The person uses MtGox

What else can you guys figure out from this transaction:

are you for real??

Yes I am "for real". What part of this entire CedarTec thing is different from when Avalon started accepting pre-orderes for batch 1...or BFL back over a year ago? CedarTec will probably do the same thing if this is legit...batch 1 will be $1000, second round will be $1500-2000 each then round 3 will be $5000-7500 each

I am not saying go and buy, but I am still not convinced this is a "SCAM" yet

to each their own

are you picking up the slack because the other two have gone to sleep or sth?

im not sleeping, but 10am is early for me

il address the concerns that bitcoinarama brings up "again" later when they have updated the information

be patient, people here are trying to rush things to a conclusion
544  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 06:08:36 AM
LOL this is the thread that just keeps on giving. Seriously I'm fucking laughing my arse off here hahahaha.

And I quote:

The refund offer, is the oldest trick in the book. Seriously. Offer one guy a refund. Give it to him if he asks for it. And then that guy will confirm with everyone else, "oh yeah they gave me back my money. They're legit guys". And now hundreds more start placing their orders, thinking they can also just get a refund anytime.
Scarifying a few hundreds to lure in potentially thousands more is just a smart move on their part.

Thank you Smiley

But thats not the way its happening right now, fulfilling the refund only avoided them the definitive scam stamp. As the usual they go further then other cheap scams, we are getting a new policy that will support returns (ofcourse this will need to be tested to know if its real) and they announced that tomorrow we should know the details regarding the new timeline and whatnot, hopefully some public stats soon also.

Also no one else here is buying until definitive proof arrives, so such a trick would accomplish nothing here.

When is it safe to start the race?
If i receive a unit i cannot promise i will expose the fact as soon as i can, i might setup some friends first.
546  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 02:53:13 AM
seems the rate of posts per day is exponentially increasing as we get closer to the delivery date
547  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 02:27:31 AM
because it hasnt been proven without a reasonable doubt
No one has really broken their story or pointed out something they have not been able to explain.

Wait a week - then you'll see =P

Wait a day, then re-evaluate the new info they will post and then wait according to that, or panic if thats what you like.

If they are a scam:

Iv'e done much worse on satoshidice, 200btc lost there
548  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 02:13:23 AM
Why is there still a "?" in the subject?

And Walrus IS MAD! Goo Goo Gajoob

Awh the insults and the name calling, they dont make me twitch even one micron.

Remember kids, not in any of my posts am i recommending you go buy a unit.

Judge for yourself the merit of the information and challenges i provide, you always need another side to make a good decision.

I am a good virus, i promise not to make you a zombie, more then what society already makes you.
550  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 01:24:38 AM
I don't want to see peeps get ripped off, I don't know why this is so hard to appreciate.

*If they are legit, I'm sure they will welcome you in their pre-order.

The videos and previous pictures were not of working ASIC miners. There's no disputing that.
WHY?

Because they are badly photoshopped, cloning tool was especially blatent and deliberately obscuring

The reasons for photoshopping have been provided, other then that photoshoping does not prove a non functional device, so we dont know[

But scrap the *if that I wrote, it's the most dangerous word in this thread.

But I'm keen to see anyone produce a working miner right now and manufacture it in volume.

Still nothing on who these guys are, or their experience, all we do know is they haven't posted any proof, yet and gone out of their way to deceive.
gone out of their way to deceive, only if you believe they were out to deceive

as before

This thread is entertaining sure, like a soap opera, just don't get emotionally or financially involved unless you've seen the real thing and it's been verified. That doesn't just apply here.

The only possible outcome to them producing a miner is that they sourced contacts with the interest they had and decided to actually produce something, but their entire intention with their bullshit 'evidence' so far has been to con people. There is no disputing that, I'm no less suspicious.
Unlikely, they needed at least a design for the asic chip and the pcb and the firmware and the software

you're right, see your quite capable of confirming this as a scam as well

But i meant unlikely to do what you are proposing in a decent time frame

Returning one payment is merely a gesture, have to see what the intention is.
And now they closed there order form and set a new policy

yes, I believe I wrote they should immediately after their last attempt at communicating

so they followed your suggestion?

Now Ionstorm hold on to your cash and do not give it back.

there is disputing everything you said

there's a difference between disputing out of disbelief and any accuracy, you didn't manage the latter

But your affirmations are always assumptions, misinterpretations or self-appointed factoid opinions

with the rise in popularity of bitcoins in china i do not see why not, infact it would be the best payment method for oversea's transfer.

Dear customers,

we have currently transfered packages of bitcoins
to our new manufacture in china.
Refunds requested from orders since first may will
be done quickly. All other refunds can not be
taken at this time, but if we fail to deliver at the next date
every single customer will get his made payment back.
This is a guarantee.

We will close now the pre-orders for around 48 hours
and make a new order policy. Everyone who order
will be able to get his money back within 14 days,
until the orders gets binding.

We will re-open the preorders when we publish more
informations.

Tomorrow we will be able to publish our next and last date
for shipping.

Your CedarTec Team.

Speechless
557  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 09, 2013, 12:33:59 AM
Dear customer,

we are sorry for the delay.
We have send bitcoin packages
to our new manufacture in china.
The responsible person for this transaction
was not informed that one of our customer
has requested a refund, as you know we do
normaly no refunds, you made a order after the first may
this is why we agreed to a refund.

We have send you now 4.5 Bitcoins and informed the manufacture
to send us your Bitcoins back. We have to wait until they
send it back to us and you will receive further 4 Bitcoins.
Besides you will get 0.2 Bitcoin as compensation for the delay.

With best regards,

Your CedarTec Team.

edit: I got 4.5 back

you must be trolling, its impossible, they are suppose to be a scam, its and excuse!
SCAMY SCAMY SCAMY SCAM!

they cant possibly be paying their manufacturer in bitcoins?

I know ionstorm is cedartec and he has just pulled this stunt, amirite?

/sarcasm with a grain of salt
