541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 21, 2024, 07:01:30 PM
Real Madrid is a crazy team, they continue to surprise us by making such a comeback every time, they make that comeback even when they are told they can't convert this time. In the match where Almeria was ahead 2-0, they could not maintain this lead until the end of the match, but just when everyone was questioning Real Madrid and wondering whether it was on the decline, they won with a magnificent comeback.

Are we going to pretend like all those controversies didn't happen?
-VAR disallowed Almeria's goal that should have made it 3-1. It was a very ridiculous reason
-VAR didn't overturn Vinicius' goal, even though it was a handball
-A penalty for Madrid for the most bizarre reasons
-11 minutes added time and Madrid scored in the 9th minute.

I'm not one of those that believe in robberies but the match officials ruined things for Almeria with so many wrong calls. That's unfair. I'm sure a team like Almeria would never get those kinds of advantages if the tables were tuned.
542  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you consider the prospects of global economy in 2024? on: January 21, 2024, 02:50:32 PM
Actually, it depends on how well the country is managed. Things are always going to be tough every year, so how strong economies are going to be depends on the government of that country and its policies.
When the right policies and decisions are taken, the economy will thrive.

Despite how things were in 2023 there are countries where their currency did not devalue too much, the unemployment rate reduced, and GDP increased. I don't know if the per capita income and purchasing power of any country increased but I believe if a country did the right things, it will.
543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 21, 2024, 06:32:29 AM
I know that Dr Congo also come with potential players in this game which they will surely secure some goals from the game but victory will be far from them because the game will end up 4:2 for the favour of Morocco.

This AFCON is highly competitive, and that's what makes it very interesting. The big boys don't get their wins easily, they have to work really hard for it.
So far only Senegal and Cape Verde have been able to win their first two games. Teams like Ghana, Egypt, and Tunisia have not been able to get a win after two games. So there are no assurances this time around.

Let's see if Morocco can make it 2 out of 2 today. They were good in their first match against Tanzania but it was till after Tanzania got a red card that Morocco could close the game. Today they play a more formidable opponent so let's see if they'll get all 3 points or share points, or even go without a point.

546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Denying yourself comfortability in other to buy Bitcoin on: January 20, 2024, 09:04:51 PM
There's always something to do with money. Very few people in the world make so much money to the extent that they don't know what to do with it anymore. This is the set of people who comfortably take out money to invest without having to forgo anything.
For the average person, it's not so. The more you make money, the more you spend so if you keep a certain amount or percentage of your money to buy Bitcoin, you must forgo something else.

This doesn't mean you should keep yourself in a miserable situation just to buy Bitcoin. We have to satisfy our needs. We work hard to have a better life, not just now but also in the future. You can deprive yourself of some extravagant things because you want to invest, but it's still okay to be comfortable to an extent.
547  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Should Binance users be worried over the exchange? on: January 20, 2024, 09:50:20 AM
If after all that has happened with exchanges, folks still leave their coins on exchanges then they should be worried. And it's not just Binance users but all CEX users.
How do people trust CEX enough to a level of comfortably leaving their Bitcoins in them?
Treat CEX like a marketplace if you must use it. You go there, trade your coins, and withdraw the coins to your wallet. That way, no matter what happens to the exchange you won't be too affected.

I don't understand why he was fired in the middle of the road when let him finish the task until the end at least with the 6th position again for Roma it was good enough for them, but maybe they judged that the current position of 9th could not be saved anymore by Jose Mourinho so he preferred to be fired rather than continued failure, which surprised De Rossi who was appointed as an inexperienced coach.

Sacking Mourinho now is a bad decision. You don't expect them to keep him till things get worse than it already is? They're 9th on the table and I don't see how there can be a turnaround this season with Mourinho in charge. Mourinho is a manager who has a short-term impact on any team he manages, so if good results don't come, there's no point keeping him for long hoping for things to change.

As for De Rossi, the contract was a short-term contract. He's a legend of the club. Someone who knows the club well and understands what the club wants. He might be a bad decision since he's inexperienced or he might be what Roma needs right now. Either way, it's a short-term contract so there's no big deal about it.

How would you react if Craig Wright died?  Not everyone's grave is worth crying over.

Wow!
How do you celebrate the death of another person? Simply because the person has other views from you? Not even like they were extremist views. That's too low.
So you expect people to celebrate Craig Wright's death? C'mon man. What kind of a human are you?

Feeling a certain type of joy about this news is one thing, coming under the thread to celebrate it is another thing entirely. That sums up the kind of person you are.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 19, 2024, 08:34:04 AM
Hansi Flick? Erik Ten Hag whenever he gets sacked by Manchester United? ( Because Manchester United fans are ungrateful ) Believe me I'd fan Erik Ten Hag even of he manages a club I dislike ( Chelsea ) lol!

I think Hansi Flick would be a good coach for Barcelona. Barcelona needs to press more and Flick can do that for them. His football is fast, flowing, and fluid and that's also what Barca needs. He also likes attacking and defending as a team too.

They didn't get a proper defensive midfielder as they le Sergio Busquet leave for good.

I agree that Barcelona needs a DM, but that is no excuse. Barcelona needs signings I agree but they should be able to play well with the players they have. Barcelona even struggles against 4th division teams. That can be because they lack a DM, It's something more than that.
Barcelona needs a DM, an LW, and RW who can score and create goals, and also a coach who can use them properly.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First contract of its kind in the world in Argentina on: January 19, 2024, 08:00:09 AM
I wouldn't be surprised if Argentina would become a huge financial success someday if their government made Bitcoin and the Bitcoin system their financial system.

Argentina can be strong economically but it won't be because they adopted Bitcoin as legal tender.
I know Bitcoin will have a ripple effect on the economy, but having a good currency alone is not enough to revive a country's economy. The Argentine economy is currently in shambles. They need a lot of work to get out of the hole they're in. They have what it takes to be productive and have a good economy.

I feel like someday everyone will wake up and be happy to be in a great system.

Lol.
In Neverland you mean? I'm not trying to be pessimistic but we have to be real. The world economy would never be perfect. And at the rate that things are going, it would never be close to perfect.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 18, 2024, 07:38:18 PM

As much as I am also happy for the super eagles for having their first win in the AFCON 2023 tournament, let's not forget that there win today was as a result of a penalty they played against ivory coast, I personally assume this match would have also ended in a draw (goalless draw) if not for the penalty the referee awarded the super eagles.

Aside from the penalty, I guess one thing that gave Nigeria the win today was that Ivory Coast did not play well. If they had played well they could have won.
Although Ivory Coast did not play well they played better than Nigeria. Nigeria couldn't keep the ball down and play amongst themselves.

What I can say the Nigerians did well was that they were compact. They defended well and did not allow Ivory Coast to have many chances.
Now Ivory Coast needs to win Equatorial Guinea to qualify. The hosts find themselves in a very difficult situation right now.
553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 18, 2024, 03:48:55 PM
So, what about the club like manchester city and liverpool? Are you joking with your statement? all of top teams have busy schedules and using fatigue as an excuse is a non sense thing.

Manchester City have a manager that knows how to rotate his squad. Secondly, Manchester City have always had a big squad. They know how to give their players rest. Thirdly, since Manchester City have more quality squad depth than Arsenal, they can afford to rest some of their key players in a match and still be able to win that match.
De Bruyne was injured and they still managed. Rodri is injured and they're still good. That's because they have players that can fill the shoes of these players to an extent.

Speaking about Liverpool. They won the Champions League and won the EPL the next year and what has happened to them since? The best they've finished is second in the league. They even went to the Europa last season. See how poor they were due to injuries? What do you think happened after those two high-flying seasons?
The kind of football Liverpool play requires a lot of rotation because they're always pressing and running so players are vulnerable.

Don't underestimate fatigue. Not every player can play 50 matches a season and still play another 50 matches the next season while having a very short break. A break where they might be representing their national teams during that time.
These players train twice almost every day and play twice almost every week so if they're not well rotated they can either get injured or get fatigued.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 18, 2024, 11:40:09 AM
I just see Arsenal repeating same thing they did in the premier league last season, just take a look at how Arsenal started very well this season just to reach this stage and starts losing points.

Arsenal were actually better last season than they are this season. They lost so much form this season and I believe it's due to fatigue. A top club needs squad depth to remain at the top and a very good rotation. Last season, Arsenal were still in form at this point of the season. They got bad after a couple of injuries and fatigue.

Fatigue is a very big problem that prevents high-flying teams. This usually affects teams that press very much in matches. It affected Liverpool too after they won the EPL.
Arsenal will make the top 4 but they won't be among title contenders.
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as P2P currency vs Bitcoin as an asset on: January 18, 2024, 10:31:53 AM
I know people who buy U.S. dollars to hold and sell in the future because they speculate that the dollar will appreciate against their local currency or another currency. Same with the British pound and this has not in any way made the dollar and pounds any less as currencies, so why is it different from Bitcoin?

Why do people struggle so hard to separate the asset features of Bitcoin from the currency feature? It can be both. A currency can be an asset and that's exactly what Bitcoin is. The difference is, if you hold Bitcoin you stand to gain much more than someone who holds any fiat currency at all.
Bitcoin is a currency and an asset.
Using it as a currency doesn't stop it from being an asset and using it as an asset doesn't stop it from being a currency.

So many red flags that a newbie should be wary of.
First, it's the email. How did Trust Wallet get his email? He didn't use email to open the wallet, so how did they get his email address? That alone should make him very skeptical.

Secondly, how's a noncustodial wallet asking for KYC? The purpose of a noncustodial wallet is so you stay anonymous so what's the use for KYC?

It's so sad people still fall for things like this.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: January 17, 2024, 04:07:10 PM
The super Eagles lack everything as it stands now in this Afcon. They are just same, old pattern of play and mentality in totality.
I placed a bet on the winning straight up, only to see them trying to equalize a lone goal.

Nigeria's problem is solely a management problem. The management never gets the right coach for the job. This present Nigerian coach is not good enough IMO. I know Nigeria has chances that should have given them the lead and they failed but with the way they play, it's obvious they lack a good coach.

Also, so far only Senegal has been convincing in the tournament. All the other big teams struggled. Tunisia and Ghana even lost. This will tell you that it's going to be a very interesting tournament, not a tournament where the favorites just trample on the lesser teams.
Let's wait and see if Morocco can announce itself well today or if Tanzania has a surprise for us.
559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 17, 2024, 03:07:19 PM
In the Champions League I would be blown away if they made it into the final. I can look at it from many perspectives, but in the quarterfinals and semifinals they will meet at least one team that will eliminate them.

With the way Barcelona plays, it would be a miracle for them to make it to the semi-finals of the champions. They do not play well at all. They concede too many goals. How can a team like Barcelona be trailing 2-0 to Madrid in under 10 minutes? A defense like that doesn't go far in the Champions League.
The only chance they have against Napoli is that Napoli is also in a very bad phase of their own.

Barcelona's problems are not very big IMO me. All they have to do is stop conceding goals and start scoring goals. That's all they need to figure out how to do.

If Xavi doesn't win any trophy this season, I believe he should be sacked. He has done so well for Barcelona by taking them out of where Koeman put them, but I don't think he's the man to make them a fearsome side in Europe. They need someone else for that.
