First major fuck up, no doubt one of may more to come.  Roll Eyes

The obvious has been stated twice now with nary a response.

Send the losers an email and tell them to "validate" there keys immediately.

More importantly why? How can this operation be held hostage by this so-called requirement. No I doubt believe it is about being fair to them. Zero need to validate the keys, next to no one's saved passwords didn't work. Even so opening mainnet what the hell has that got to do with all of this  Roll Eyes  it is there "loss" even if there is a loss which I do not think exists.

And to all the whackos chiming in how it is a good thing things need to be done right, gives time to do things right blah blah blah mindless shills not even thinking about what is going on.

Send everyone an email. Open mainnet on time, with or without them, once live they will hear about it if they ignored the emails, most if not all will have success on their own with their keys, to the morons that forgot their keys tough luck. Split the booty amongst everyone and tell them to fuck off.

Or portion off that unclaimed balance, start mainnet minus it and go about over the course of the month chasing them down then reintegrate it.

Even simpler send an email each day remaining of this week. Those that don't respond, send back their funds to their sending address and be done it with.

Being held hostage like this does not bode well for the future.  Developers need to seize control and run this show with a firm hand from day one.

Send everyone an email starting now.

Now if none of the above cannot be done them something else is very very very wrong.  Be aware.

Good post, Im not so confident about Lisk anymore. Ethereum ICO was not managed this way..

Do you remember how long it took the ETH devs to release ETH to the public. lol it took sooo long.

Lol. Afarid right?
ETH was probably the only ico delayed coin in crypto world, and you only refear to eth delay.
What about other thousands crypto that have respected official launch?

You made my day.

What if people will not confirm until april end? dev will go to take from theyr houses one by one?
Cause not all investors are from this thread. So, how people will be informed with a reminder?

Well these guys still have much to fix. https://github.com/LiskHQ/lisk/issues

Official Lisk Mainnet Launch - End of April

Up until today, we had estimated an official launch of the Lisk platform for April 11th, 2016. Unfortunately, there have been setbacks concerning the generation and validation of keys, associated with each ICO exchange. Consequently, we have decided to delay the official launch to the end of April, the worst case scenario being early May.

The delayed launch will not be in vain; not only will it provide the community enough time to generate and validate their keys, we will also implement important security features into the platform.

Passphrase Validation

As of today, 87% of all ICO participants have generated their keys and claimed their passphrases, while only 44% have validated them. The validated passphrases percentile provides the team a degree of certainty that ICO participants have saved the correct passphrases. We need this as high as possible to follow through with the official launch. Current status:

- 13% not claimed passphrases: ~1,800 BTC or $750,000
- 56% not validated passphrases: ~7,840 BTC or $3,292,800

At the present time we would have to escrow over $750,000 in LISK, while having the uncertainty of potentially $3,300,000 in incorrectly recorded keys. We feel these numbers need to be reduced.

Starting this week, we will send out emails to all users who have not yet generated or validated their passphrases.

- How to Generate your Lisk ICO Passphrase
- Verifying your ICO Generated Passphrases

Paving the way for a bright future

After discussions with individual community members and advisors, we have decided to deviate from our current pre-launch roadmap, and focus towards improving the security first. The updated pre-launch roadmap will be available this week, and will include the plans for building a modular crypto-currency, the implementation of mnemonic checksums, updated fees and much more.

Modular Crypto-Currency

Lisk is poised to become the first truly modular crypto-currency by utilizing sidechains as a solution to scalability. Lisk sidechains allow us to implement various features into the Lisk main network as Decentralized Applications (Dapps). This not only makes single features optional, it also keeps the Lisk mainchain streamlined in comparison to other crypto-currencies.

Mnemonic Checksum

Crypto-currency brain wallets have a history of problems concerning users choosing too simple passphrases for their accounts. It’s important to understand that the passphrase represents the private key of your account. Therefore, we integrate mnemonic checksumming of passphrases that conforms to BIP39, forcing users to generate highly secure passphrases directly inside our client (12 words like: all spike short ill claim field credit doctor paddle appear price music).

Responsive Design

Lisk community members are already working on mobile clients for Android and iOS. If you want to access your Lisk account inside your smartphone browser you are able to do so right at launch - thanks to our responsive design.

Updated Fees

We feel the current fees are a bit on the expensive side. Prior to the official launch we will adjust the fees accordingly to make them accessible and affordable to the community. Conversely, we also believe that fees should have an impact to discourage name squatting and low quality delegates or decentralized applications. For this reason, we are evaluating the current fees associated with delegate and dapp registrations.

In summary, we strengthen the stability and security of the network while the community completes their validations, and hopefully officially launch by the end of April. These are very exciting times, and we are as excited as everyone to experience the next technological revolution. Thanks for the support on testing the public network, you will soon have another version to play with.

Kind regards,

Max, Oliver & Joel

I'm starting to think I'm going to dump my coins... the delusion is just too insane. 1 billion market cap on launch? The coin doesn't even have a team in place yet and you are valuing it at 1 billion?

Lisk — The first modular crypto-currency

Scalability has been a problem with crypto-currencies since Bitcoin’s introduction.

Scalability is the capability of a system, network, or process to handle a growing amount of work, or its potential to be enlarged in order to accommodate that growth.

In order to resolve this, Lisk will become the first truly modular crypto-currency by utilizing sidechains as a solution to scalability. Lisk sidechains allow us to implement various features into the Lisk main network simply as Decentralized Applications (Dapps). This not only makes single features optional, it will also keep the Lisk mainchain streamlined in comparison to other crypto-currencies.
From an architectural standpoint it is rational to apply this modularity prior to the official Lisk launch. Therefore, effective immediately, we have completely removed the current implementation of usernames and contacts from Lisk. In the near future, they will be part of the so called “Core Dapps” which bring new features directly integrated into the client user interface (UI).

The first Core Dapp allows users to create a unique identity on the Lisk network involving information such as username, first name, surname, email, forum/chat username, and/or a description. Dapp developers are be able to access the identity sidechain and use the information within their own dapps, e.g. the name of a Lisk account owner.

Alongside with the other planned Core Dapps (messaging, dapp reviews/ratings, contacts), Lisk not only becomes a decentralized network, it becomes a feature-complete and independent ecosystem. Combined with the many dapps by our users Lisk will form a one of its kind hub for the world, empowering the Internet of Things and motivating many industries.

Hey guys, any news on when the bounties (twitter, newsletter, signature campaigns) will start to be paid?

Since you didn't feel like searching.  Roll Eyes

Hey LiskHQ,
When can we expect to see the full bounty numbers (first day buy, Newsletter, translation, sig's, etc....)?
When exactly will they be distributed?

They will be distributed 1-2 weeks after launch.

I can try to calculate the numbers today. Will have to see if I find the time. Smiley

Why is there an ICO and a couple millions tokens reserved for the team ?!
Why not? Lisk has tokens reserved for the core team also.

You are right, Lisk also did like this. Devs have the ICO money + a lot of coins. Its really greedy from my perspective!! BTW, im not fudding cause i really think this project is nice. Devs should take the ICO money and let the entire coins to investors, its my 2 cents...

Sure they can just release the coin and take their ico money and go to the Bahamas.

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with designating some of the coins to the devs team. maybe 9% is a bit top much but the idea in general is not that weird to me.
I do think that it might be smart to create a lock up on the ICO funds, something like Cliff and Vesting comes to my mind.

Lock up is perfect for these type of situations.

Peek-a-boo!  Cheesy

But seriously, are there any plans to set up a small-scale fiat gateway for JavaScript folks so they could get Lisk conveniently? Not "cheaply" of course; the cheapest price has be associated with some effort. Also, if it's done through PayPal, there has to be a seller's risk premium baked into the price. I know full well that scammer-buyers can cheat by filing a dispute and getting free coins. But as a callous(ed) business matter, some of them doing so can be compensated for by jacking up the premium.

I mention this because - 'way, 'way back - the first altcoin I ever bought was Infinitecoin, for PayPal off eBay. Of course I overpaid, but the altcoin bubble bailed me out. One thing I still remember was how quickly the seller fulfilled the buy; at the time, it impressed the socks off me. Smiley

Whoever decides to open a fiat gateway should ask wesellcrypto.com for some advice, they use PayPal and have been open for a long time now. I use them when I need Btc in a hurry. Maybe we could ask them to add lisk.

Interesting.

But how do they avoid people from getting their crypto and then file a claim and get their money back?

Did they find a way to work around?

I always use Bitonic.nl for quick BTC but I think you can only pay with a Dutch bank account.

I have no idea you would have to ask them yourself. They have a verification process to buy, maybe it helps cause they've been around a long time.

You guys gotta shill waves after the ico is over. not during or before it starts. If your an investor you're diluting your shares and there won't be anyone to buy the coins on the market if everyone's already buying the ico. Shill when the ico is over.

Slack and www.lisk.chat looks the same to me.

will this have a hard time getting listed on bittrex? they used to have a rule of not listing coins that offered shares of a company that paid out dividends. Im sure it can make it on c-cex and yobit. etc though..

i dont think they can be listed on bittrex.  but they can on all the others.

yeah i kinda figured. Was already invested here than something reminded me of that trex rule. Im sure this coin will still do well as it looks like a solid project.

How did this coin make it to bittrex with it mentioning and paying out dividends? Just wondering. They use to have rules back in the day on bittrex for things like this. Don't worry im not going to snitch cause i'am probably wrong. Gotta read some more. Theres a coin I hope can get added there, just hoping that won't be a road block.

Blitzcoin itself does not pay dividends. We give out Rewards to 15k+ holders.

Above is the summary of the BlitzMM project dividends. This is a feature built into the Txt software for paying out to assetholders.

nxt asset, yeah I see reading up on it now.
