541  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-05-22] Bitcoin Miner Fees and Micropayment Channels on: May 23, 2016, 12:10:49 AM
The Bitcoin network is weighed down by increasing number of transactions over the blockchain. Thanks to the smaller block size of 1 MB, which has not been upgraded since the days of Bitcoin’s creation. The increased load on the network has led to delays in confirmation of transactions. Miners have started to give priority to transactions with higher miner fee, leading to an increase in the average miner fee per transaction.

The increasing transaction fees make micro-transactions over the Bitcoin network virtually impossible. At the same time, those who are prone to making a large number of bitcoin transactions will end up paying a lot in transaction fees. In order to overcome these issues, 21 Inc. has implemented micropayment channels, that are designed to handle a large number of transactions between two parties without having all the transactions confirmed over the blockchain as long as the channel is kept open between the two wallet addresses.

i use blockchain mobile wallet and blockchain wallet online, i think blockchain is more safe than other wallet but if dont like to use blockchain you can try mycelium, electrum, greenaddress.

agree with you blockchain is very safe, it's my first bitcoin wallet address, but for small transaction i recomended using xapo or coinbase, we can transaction without fee, but the problem we can export or import any wallet address.
544  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-05-22] Now you can pay your bills or shop online with digital currency on: May 23, 2016, 12:00:33 AM
paying bills and shopping online through internet banking or credit cards, here comes another mode of payment that has remained in the shadows so far.

You can now pay your mobile or DTH bill through the digital currency, Bitcoin. Online shopping and utility bill payments via the virtual currency should be available soon.

"Users are increasingly using Zebpay to pay their mobile bills using bitcoins and to buy vouchers for online shopping. Last month, users paid bills of more than Rs.15 lakh using bitcoins. This number is doubling every month," Sandeep Goenka, co-founder of Bitcoin mobile app-based platform Zebpay, told IANS.

We all can ( all bitcoin trader in this world ) so it will attract more demand to buy bitcoin.
Once bitcoin total amount get lesser , bitcoin value will rise automatically. You can also speculate to give some people hope about bitcoin for example : tell them that halving will make bitcoin value got increase significantly !

nice trick to make bitcoin price rising  Cheesy
so bitcoin halving is just a reason to make bitcoin price rising then you can sell your bitcoin at highest rate?  Cheesy

in fact some day ago bitcoin price failing and i think more dump wil come before block halving day Roll Eyes

549  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin online wallets on: May 22, 2016, 01:55:51 PM
For me the best bitcoin online wallet is Blockchain. Blockchain is more popular than other wallet. But i do not like the new version wallet of bitcoin. Just love using the old version.

yes blockchain.info wallet is popular to most users but the reality is most of those people using blockchain.info don't know the risk of using online wallet to store their coins.

Since the days of bitcoin use I have been using Blockchain.info and found it to be the most secure of all wallets though its a online wallet. Also most users prefer it just because of its fastest transaction and simple interface.

When I'm still new about bitcoins and I searched for the basic things about it and that's about bitcoin wallet.
The blog I have read suggested to create a xapo wallet. That's my first wallet is xapo but now I'm into blockchain.info I find it more convenient
rather than xapo.

in first time im using blockchain wallet everyday for each transaction, and now im using xapo and coinbase  Cheesy
with zero fee feature, it's make me comfortable to make some transaction everyday, i can top up my number phone without pay mining fee.
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction verification time! on: May 22, 2016, 01:52:51 PM
As you that blockchain was attacked by hackers a couple of months ago by spamming the transactions hopefully they are still on it so use 0.00015+ BTC tx fee to get high priority transaction.

i think at this moment normal transaction need arround 20.000 satoshi for each transaction (per kb), to get normal time in confirmation (10-11 minute),
i recomended you use xapo wallet for "free fee" and faster transaction in confirmation

each transaction depends about how much  your fee, and how much your transaction.
551  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Secure Android Wallet? on: May 22, 2016, 01:48:36 PM
Good Evening,

I looking to find some secure android Wallet for keeping my coins, who can recommend me a good and secure one?

My phone is not rooted and I do not install random crap, so I assume it should be safe enough!

for me mycellium is better mobile wallet full acces we can import and export privekey, but for small transaction, like top up number phone etc. you can use xapo/coinbase wallet it's very simple to use it, no extra fee for saving and no fee for each transaction, so you can save some "satoshi" for each transaction.
552  Economy / Speculation / Re: When are you selling your bitcoins? on: May 22, 2016, 01:46:05 PM
I sell some of my bitcoin if I need to ( when I try to paid my personal bill and my parents need )

As I know that halving is less than 50 days , I try to gain some benefit from this event.
Hope bitcoin value will reach as my expectation

like you i sell my bitcoin if i need it, and i sell arround 0.03/week for saving n fiat currency, i know bitcoin halving will come soon but i have plan to save in fiat arround $100/month so i save $20-$30 /week
553  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-05-22] Money Demystified: How the Blockchain Offers Financial Safety on: May 22, 2016, 01:39:47 PM
The blockchain is special because it allows users to send and receive funds electronically, thereby eliminating any third-party fees. According to Angela Ruth, the blockchain can replace the middle-man and provide a “payment alternative” that can potentially protect buyers and sellers from payment scams, assuring that everyone receives what they’re rightly owed. The system provides an unbeatable form of security, as information between buyers and sellers is shared within “tamper-proof public ledgers” which ultimately make it difficult for scammers to double-spend or provide counterfeit funds.

554  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-05-22] What Bitcoin Pizza Day Can Teach Us Today on: May 22, 2016, 12:47:54 PM
May 22, 2010 is a day that will forever live as legend in cryptocurrency lore. On that day the first purchase with Bitcoin was made when two pizzas were purchased for 10,000 Bitcoin. At its peak three short years later, each one of those Bitcoins was worth around $1,200, and while the price hasn’t reached quote those astronomical levels in recent years, such a number might be possible in the near future.

However, the legendary pizza transaction is more than a fun historical factoid and a reminder at how the value of new technologies can change rapidly. It represents a purely digital experiment’s first foray into the real world of practical use, a bold statement that Bitcoin is real. Every year when we observe Bitcoin Pizza Day, we gauge how far the currency’s impact on the real world as grown. Here is what this year’s observations mean for Bitcoin:

558  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: May 14, 2016, 07:25:03 AM
Gold prefered for long term it is too risky to turn all your assets into bitcoin we never know what if someday in the future bitcoin crash to zero value

gold is pisychal thing, and bitcoin is digital thing. it's depend about future. maybe in future we will use anything with digital. so today it's very important to save minimum 10btc for future
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: May 14, 2016, 07:22:25 AM
I am definitely hodling and accumulating as much as I can prior to the halving. There will be lots of panic buying prior to and after the halving as the price will rise significantly. There will prolly be a few or more big dumps as well. It will be a very interesting period. The more btc I have prior to the halving, the less I will feel the need to panic buy as the price shoots up. I plan on hodling well beyond the halving as well.

my plan sell my bitcoin at highest rate maybe arround $800 Roll Eyes
but not sure halving can make bitcoin reach $800 again Roll Eyes
560  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-05-14] Seen as Global First, Swiss Town To Accept Bitcoin Payments on: May 14, 2016, 07:17:12 AM
A Swiss town that is billing itself as a hub for the digital currency industry will accept bitcoin for some payments starting this summer, in what proponents call a worldwide first by a government body and a sign that "crypto finance" is growing in legitimacy.

The town council in northern Zug last week approved plans to accept payments of up to 200 Swiss francs (about $200) for municipal registration fees starting July 1, in what Mayor Dolfi Mueller called Wednesday an "experiment" aimed at making the digitally-minded town a pioneer in finance.
