542  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [MOTION] ID#70 - Vote to Sell BTCWEB to Undisclosed third party on: December 19, 2011, 07:49:34 PM
Expect a major statement on this deal later today, for some reason GLBSE is not letting me see the results of the motion?

BTW: I did not vote even though I own a vast majority of the shares

As far as the legality of the GLBSE I am not an expert in this area, although this company believes it to be illegal in the USA and at the very least not at all legally binding.

In Any case I was on a unrelated business trip yesterday but was able to have a conference call with this perspective company and will release a full statement in regards to BTCWEB, and CC.

I have always and will continue to support the share holders and I want you all to know I will do my best to look out for the share holders best interest (after all I am the BIGGEST share holder)

stay tuned

Cablepair my friend, what's up with this statement?  Been a couple days?

543  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why a Stable BTC Price is Good on: December 18, 2011, 06:51:37 PM
Stable price is not good, it means no more people adopt bitcoin.

A such low price, means that few ppl use it.

doesn't it mean that there is adequate demand for the 7200 coins per day being printed right now, and that people in fact ARE adopting bitcoin?

544  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Blockminers.com - GLBSE: BMMO on: December 18, 2011, 06:17:26 PM
Hi all!  Dividends have been paid for the week ending Dec 17th.  Dividend paid was .0061 gross per share, minus our fees of .0015, .0046 BTC per share has been paid to shareholders!

548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [800,000 DVC remaining bounty] for Devcoin preliminary testing on: December 14, 2011, 11:26:26 PM
I just want to make a suggestion, I think its important to have to prove your identity beyond just having to upload your keys, GLBSE strive to be anonymous, and because of that it is very easy for someone to scam, also the other side of it is , if you are a legit person who has a legit business , its difficult to prove who you really are, you should have to upload a scan of your ID, and accounts should be registered to real names , not to forum aliases..

thanks for listening!

That's hard man.  You can be as legit as you want, but unfortunately, some asshats decided that they can make you a criminal for what should be a matter of free will..  I'd love to do more with Bitcoin stocks / glbse etc.. except I fear legal issues.  I don't think that's right.

550  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Blockminers.com - GLBSE: BMMO on: December 12, 2011, 04:16:26 AM
Hi all!  To switch over to a weekly dividend, we paid a 10 day dividend payment today for the period covering December 1st to 10th inclusive. Our dividends will now be paid weekly, every Sunday.

So for 10 days we have a gross dividend of .0073 BTC per share minus our fees of .0018 per share = .0055 BTC per share paid to shareholders!

We expect next weeks dividend to be around .0061 gross.

More news coming soon!

553  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] GEM - Invest in Diamonds!!! on: December 09, 2011, 07:06:34 PM
Wholesale pricing on 1pt diamonds is roughly $300-$450 depending on quality, etc. These are very nice and can easily fetch that price (I will have stats to accompany the pics) so the potential for turing them over and increasing the value of the fund is not unrealistic. The retail price for them is higher of course.
Wait, do you mean 1 ct of diamond?

Pretty sure he meant 1ctw for $300-$450.  Otherwise he'd be saying that 1ctw could fetch $30,000-$45,000...

Ok that makes more sense.. OP can you confirm?
554  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] GEM - Invest in Diamonds!!! on: December 09, 2011, 07:03:47 PM
Yes, that is another way of breaking it down. If you were to cash in your share immediately, you would be buying 1pt diamonds for 1BTC each.

In the event that diamonds are sold/reinvested or if shareholders redeem their shares, I do have access to additional quantities to continue the offering and support the shares.

Even if the diamonds are strictly held, then the value of the shares in BTC should move based on the value of BTC.

I will also be adding a section to my website that will have all of the info I post here and additional information, stats, pics, etc.
Wait... so you are selling $300-$450 worth of diamonds for 1BTC each?  I don't mean to be accusatory, but how could this NOT be a scam?  How on earth can you buy them so cheaply that it makes it profitable for you to sell them for 1 BTC each?

+1 what's the deal here?  how can you sell $300 worth of diamonds for $3.  I'll take them all please.. thanks.
555  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] LIF.A, LIF.B, LIF.CX, and LIF.M on: December 08, 2011, 09:15:23 PM
LIF.B is supposed to be high risk / high reward fund right?  There is a definite need for this kind of fund..  Personally I would like to see it continue, but I think some damage is already done by the announcement..  A no dividend and bad looking financials would have propelled a correction on it's own.. At which time, Peter could have bought back shares aggressively if his end goal is to shut down the fund,   also allowing others to scoop up some shares cheaply if they still believe in the potential of the fund.. in other words, leave it up to the market.  I kind of don't understand the manual adjustments on selling new shares of LIF.A either, but then again my equities knowledge is pretty much limited to stocks..  not very much knowledge about how funds work.  My general understanding would make me think that the fund should sell at what the market would bare as this just puts more money into the pot for investments / fund growth, thus increasing the value for every holder, but I could definitely be wrong on that.  If any one has some insight ?

556  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] LIF.A, LIF.B, LIF.CX, and LIF.M on: December 08, 2011, 05:01:36 PM
Damn.  I had open order to buy LIF.B, filled while I slept.  Instant 50% loss.  Do you know when financials will be posted?

559  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [37%] MAXKEISER.bitcoinfilm - Max Keisers Film "European Bitcoin - Prague" on: December 04, 2011, 10:15:49 PM
so, I talked to Max Keiser briefly at the bitcoin conference in Prague (the conference was great).

I think it's now finally public info: piratemyfilm will be accepting BTC for payment of shares and they will start to pay dividends in Bitcoin, too.

I think this is great news.

The gust of my conversation with Max is that it is not possible to enable my account to reserve more than 5 shares. The background for this is that he wants to avoid few people to buy all of the shares.

I'm unsure what to do know, but suggest we wait for the "bitpay" buttons to actually appear on piratemyfilm.com. Currently I think the best route would now be to give you people back your bitcoins so you can buy shares of the project yourselves on piratemyfilm.com.

Stacey Herbert and Richard Bluestein where filming material for the project in Prague (at the conference and at the pub(s)). They interviewed Amir, for example, and of course filmed the panel discussiond and Max' talk about himself and PMF.

It seems Max is now officially a bitcoin supporter (see his recent tweets).

Thoughts?

Didn't see this til now.  Wow piratemyfilm is taking bitcoins.. that's awesome.  Bump for more people to see this!
