Nothing impossible. But, come on this is 2018, what you expect with buy mobile phones and mine something with that?

Except you have to plan to change a mobile phone to something, like the article above, look like cool, lol.
That article means nothing, no technical data, even the contents of the article didn't show anything about mining.

I hope I brought a little fun back to this forum today.

You made BitBustah back to smile after failed in an exam today, you did good.  Grin

......
You can achieve a greater than 100% CR.  My examples were to illustrate that you can have a negative ROI.  What I didn't give an example on, is that it's impossible to have a negative CR.  Obviously, the goal of many people is to achieve a minimum of 100% CR.  What I take offense on is people claiming they need 100% ROI to break even... when that would actually doubling their money.  What they meant was they are trying to achieve a ZERO ROI... which is dumb... it even sounds dumb when you say it out loud.

Personally, I like what you write above, educative.
A bit thing that bothers me only the title, it's too provocative and rough I think. Probably the title should be softer.  Wink
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please stop using "ROI" when you mean Capital Recovery. it makes you sound dumb. on: March 17, 2018, 05:22:07 PM
So, Capital Recovery limited to 100%. Means, when money-out equal to money-in it's called Capital Recovery. When money-in didn't reach 100% of money-out both term can use, Capital Recovery if we count from below (0%) and ROI if we count from above (100%), but this ROI still minus. But, if money-in more than money-out, we only can call it ROI, right?

But whatever it is, as long as we can understand each other, it is no big deal. Honestly, this is helpful.  Wink
546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can a Radeon HD 6970 mine along side a RX 570 ? Help plz on: March 17, 2018, 02:09:07 PM
You can install two different drivers for both cards. First of all, go to drive C:\. Find AMD folder, then open your RX 570 driver folder (depend on which driver type you are using). You will find a folder named "Package," save it to the safe place.

since you are using Blockchain driver the folder tree would be:
C:\AMD\Win10-64Bit-Crimson-ReLive-Beta-Blockchain-Workloads-Aug23\Packages

And then when I would try installing drivers through a disc which is the only way to force it to take some kind of drivers, which would then make the RX 570 show an error in device manager saying it doesnt have drivers and the same thing would then happen with the Rx 570.

That's the right move. Just need some other action to complete.
Open Device Manager, then find your RX 570, in Display Adapter section, and right click then updates manually. Find Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF\... in the folder that you save before. You will find inf file, then chose it. The system will be updating a driver for RX 570. If your 570 has been modded, don't forget to bypass driver signature using atikmdag patcher.
Restart your system....

548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: So... When will I be able to buy some graphic cards? on: March 16, 2018, 05:12:15 AM
The prices of graphic cards are way too high for my liking. The market is also still bearish and I'm out of fiat.

Have any ideas of when and why the graphic cards prices will drop down? Leave them below

Nobody knows when.
This is a few things that may cause GPUs prices go down.
- Demand for GUPs itself.
- Devices regeneration, The new version launched, old version would be down priced if demand for old version is low (back to point one).
- Crypto market sluggish (mining context, since gamers more less than miners). But no guarantee, like this day.
.....
And many more.  Grin
549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why no one thought of this idea... on: March 16, 2018, 04:36:00 AM
I personally love how ghetto mining is. Tweaking it by command line gives it a retro feel.

Point taken! (personal view, same as me).

We learn nothing with one simple click, right. But we can't deny, that's the main function of technology, to make our life easier.
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why no one thought of this idea... on: March 16, 2018, 03:55:13 AM
claymore is great but i don't like consoles. he should make a nice graphical interface to be very easy to use without so many --console --arguments.

That's called resource efficiency, a GUI such as NiceHash Miner requires more system resources because of the elements that require loadings, such as icons and fonts, they take up additional system resources.

we need to have a database with tested bioses and new users should be recommended to automatically install specific bios according to their gpu id all in 1 click without softwares like ddu, atiflash etc

Honestly, I learn from that process, how to pick the driver, how to modified bios, etc. Then now I know how to facing when I get into trouble with my rig.

But yes, one click for everything would help us, reduce much time, reduce headaches on our head, lol. Go for Innovations.

What’s best way to learn?

Of course, doing what you want to learn, Learning by doing is the best way. Read some specific tutorial referring to what will you do that you can find anywhere (Youtube, Forum or whatever). When you get in trouble, you can ask here, and for sure we will help you.

553  Local / Mining (Bahasa Indonesia) / JANGAN MINING MENGGUNAKAN CPU (tanpa VGA), LAPTOP DAN HANDPHONE on: March 13, 2018, 11:01:40 AM

INTRODUCTION

- i7 memiliki 6 cores

- 12 Threads

- Processor Base Frequency 3.70 GHz

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3069732.msg31624218#msg31624218

anggap saja anda menghasilkan 2 ETN/ hari

- 1 Minggu: 2 x 7 = 14 ETN , 14 x 0.044771 = $0.626794

- 1 bulan : 14 x 4 = 56 ETN x 0.044771 = $2.507176[/] anggap saja $3

i hate team viewer  is there anyother way ??

or a fix around i mean maybe im ok with 750 but 450 is so low Sad

I didn't suggest you use Teamviewer, just trying to clarify what Mo20 said before, Mo20 suggesting you use Teamviewer without any output on both card, and I told you will get small screen because those cards will not produce the right resolution.

I suggest you use a dummy output (HDMI or whatever adapter) in one of your cards with a small Hahsrate. Adapter only, don't need to connect to monitor. Have you done what I suggested before?
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia/AMD Card mixed on Asus z270a? Can I add 3 1070 GPUs directly on the board on: March 11, 2018, 04:59:04 PM
Can I mix nvidia and Nvidia  Card on the Asus z270a easily?

May you mean AMD and NVIDIA.
Because of the space between the three socket PCIe 16x on that board far enough, you can add the three card directly to board without using Risers.

Can I add 3 1070 GPUs directly on the board without issues?

Yes, you can mix both AMD and NVIDIA on one board, for better mining process, use two different mining software to handle each type of cards. But not too easy to do it.

Advantage of putting the cards directly on the motherboard.
-You would be cutting some cost to buy a Risers.
-You will save PSU cable socket (SATA, MOLEX, 6PINS) for powering the Risers.

Disadvantages of putting the cards directly on the motherboard.
-Those cards will get in the way other PCIe (PCIe 1X) sockets near the card that plugged.
-Will heat faster, because of cards position close to other components on the mobo that the same produce a heat.

557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 570 hashrate on: March 11, 2018, 12:13:57 PM
it can be bios mod, (modified bios)  but modifining the bios is the same thing with oc on afterburner, isn't it ?

OverClock, and bios modification is a little bit different.

Bios Mod
Changing default bios condition to something that we want. After modified the bios, still we need to do a tune-up (Overclock, Underclock, Undervolt..etc) until we get stable setting using tuneup utility such as After Burner.

OverClock
Increasing clock rate from the default setting to the higher one, using tuneup utilities.
558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 570 hashrate on: March 11, 2018, 09:23:24 AM
If your plan is to control your rig through Team Viewer, you need output on one of those cards (if you set as primary display), so the system will be working on the right resolution. If you didn't plug any output, you will get the small display and maybe dropping your hashrate (AMD cards issue).

Plug dummy output on a card with dropped hashrate.

Tips: just quote the point would you replying or asking, don't quote all of the posts.
559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 570 hashrate on: March 11, 2018, 06:43:16 AM
but i didnt udnerstand what do you mean dummy output !!

dummy output means output display, didn't need to be connected to a monitor, HDMI adapter is enough.
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XFX Radeon RX470 4GB for $280 on: March 11, 2018, 06:31:25 AM
Yeah, I used those pools too, but I think I started at Bitclockers or 88BTC (or something similar) both of which eventually got hacked and a lot of miners, myself included lost a lot of coins. Since they were probably worth < $10 each back then, we didn't get too worked up, but man thinking back on it now makes me sad...

We are both still exist here, that proved that we could survive. Would be a good reference for a new miner, that we can survive because we learn. Learning new thing and learn from the past.  Grin
