We are delighted to announce that our fifth service fee payment and prize draw has been successfully completed as of 12th May 2018. The Sharpe Fund has performed remarkably well following a difficult open to 2018, achieving 26% ROI (year-to-date), despite the crypto market taking an approximately 25% hit. We are therefore very happy to announce our second largest service fee payment to date, coming in at $70,000 USD (equivalent, spot rate $700 USD/ETH) averaging $255 per sentiment provider, plus 10,000 SHP. This brings the total amount distributed since our product launch in December 2017 to $312,000 USD (equivalent) and 30,000 SHP.

If you missed some of our updates this month, we have outlined our thinking and investment thesis over the coming quarter in this article, and released an updated ledger for automated tracking of Sharpe’s proprietary investment activities across both crypto and equity markets.

There has been some interesting discussion within the community recently, on the role of media pundits, analysts and prediction markets — specifically relating to reputation. Sharpe published our mathematical approach to quantifying and immutably storing user reputation on the blockchain long before the debate had even begun. Sharpe differs from a prediction market, in that we curate sentiment on blockchain assets and equity markets, paying users an ETH service fee for each correct ‘prediction’. By coupling these payments with the users staked SHP (a metric for their confidence in the market and their own ability) and the users reputation (a metric that captures their long term, historical accuracy), we can understand what the market as a whole is thinking — producing contrarian market indicators from those with low reputations, and positive market indicators from those with higher-than-average reputations.

The Sharpe platform effectively incentivises users to provide honest data by rewarding users in proportion to their immutable reputation score. Users with the highest Sharpe reputation received a 20% premium on their service fees compared to those with the lowest reputations. We can see this in action by looking at the cents (USD) received per user, per correct prediction, per SHP token hold as a function of their reputation:

As our fifth month of distributing service fees draws to a close, we have seen the distribution between the highest and lowest user reputation scores continue to diverge, as those at both end of the distribution continue to move away from the mean. We have begun developing various metrics to ‘slice’ the sentiment data we’re collecting, as we now have over 1 million data points over a five month window on 600 assets across both equities and crypto. We will share more insights as we begin to understand the complex relationship between user reputation, time spent per prediction, and user proof-of-stake.

Arbidex interviews Matrix’s Owen Tao!

Arbidex: Owen, in view of recent crypto exchanges hacks and security issues, can you comment on how deploying Matrix intelligent smart contracts may potentially help decentralized crypto exchanges and cold / hot wallets in terms of eliminating security risks? What industry needs smart contracts and Blockchain more than anything?
O: The “Intelligent Contract” can help the users avoiding the loopholes in contract or code, I think it will be very useful for the decentralized exchanges’ security work. But for the centralized exchange, I don’t think the intelligent contract can help much with the cold / hot wallets. I think there are some industry needs blockchain more than others, such as finance or sharing economy business, such Uber, ofo, Airbnb. If you need transfer data or asset in your blockchain network, the smart contract would be necessary.
 
 Arbidex: If we are to observe Matrix recent activity — what are you guys mostly focused on at the moment? What markets and industries you see as most promising in terms of Matrix expansion?
O: At this moment the most important thing for MATRIX is to explore our developers ecosystem, because the applications are the bridge between the personal users and our platform, high-quality applications will bring millions of active users for the platform. With the features of MATRIX, I thinks there are some industry more suitable for MATRIX than others, such as the big data industry (they need our AI calculating power to deal with their data), new terminal equipment, share economy business and so on. The industries who needs AI services and blockchain solutions, they will need MATRIX.
 
 Arbidex: We are super excited to have you as Arbidex Advisor. Are you somehow familiar with exchange arbitrage or crypto trading?
 O: A little, and if you need, I can introduce some experts for you.
 
Arbidex: Here at Arbidex we recently closed the ICO and now are at the very beginning of a long journey. Any tips and advice you could give to an emerging fintech startup?
O: Arbidex is a great platform, but as far as I know, there are already more than 7,000 crypto exchanges all over the world, the business model of Arbidex is good but you still need more powerful products of features to keep the users staying on our platform. No news so far. We continue talking to the big ones (bitfinex, binance, kucoin). Daily volume is one of the key factors for listing.

Marketing
We have updated our site and appreciated your useful feedback. Without doubts we will continue to improve it.
Our representatives will participate in Consensus on 14–16th of May. We expect to acquire new strategic partners there.
On the 7th of May Vladimir was interviewed by a representative of the Blockchain Week in Moscow. In about 3 weeks they will release the video interview. We hope that it will be interesting and that we will be able to use it for marketing purposes.
We have come to recognize that a lot of our clients are Japanese. Therefore, we will translate our site and platform into Japanese.
Besides, we are looking for representatives in different countries to develop MyWish. If you have a desire to be a part of our team, you are welcome!
We resumed the advertising campaign in search engines and social networks. Google moderates our ads again. Facebook and Twitter continue working as before.
On the 7th of May we met with our PR department. The aims of this meeting were the correction of PR campaign and discussing the business development (new possible partnerships).

The 36th week net transactional revenue share has been paid

Today (11th of May, 2018), Bankera paid its thirty-sixth net transactional revenue share to BNK token holders.



Last week, SpectroCoin generated a net transactional revenue of 108,256.58 EUR. 20% of that was distributed among Bankera token holders. This totaled to 21,651.32 EUR or 34.92598434 ETH (given the current exchange rate of 619.92 euros for 1 ether). The total number of tokens outstanding includes 10,000,000,000 BNK tokens of the pre-ICO and ICO, and 923,550,139 BNK tokens that were distributed by the end of last week as referral commission bonuses, bounties (for translations, promotion, etc.) and as compensation for some of the advisors. The 923,550,139 BNK tokens were issued from the tokens allocated for management and advisors. There were 10,923,550,139 BNK tokens issued in total. Since the net transactional revenue share is only allocated to issued tokens (not the total possible supply in the long-run), each BNK holder has been allocated 0.0000000031973107547094 ETH (0.00000198207688305948 EUR) per Banker.

It is also worth mentioning that the SpectroCoin community has grown by  3,612 new users during the last week, from 853,649 to 857,261.
