541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: brazil sanctioned law that taxes online betting in the country on: March 22, 2024, 08:00:21 PM
In nutshell: bettors will have to pay 15% on the winnings received from any bets, regardless of whether the reward is small or large, and companies will have to pay 12% on revenue.

This is for physical bets or bets made online.

Lula (thief corrupt president) vetoed income tax for winnings from bets of up to R$2112 (~425 USD) per month.
It's true. Doesn't matter how much the gambler profited from gambling, he will have to pay 15% taxes to "Papai Lule" (Daddy Lula, in gender-neutral pronoun), nevertheless. That is a very harsh regulation, because even towards cryptocurrencies there is a minimum monthly negotiation size to be taxed. Below that line, it's tax free. Now regards gambling, it's much worse.

The funny thing is that he didn't take into account the loss that bettors have before calculating the tax (that's a lot of bullshit).

Summary of the story: the government wants to be our partner only in gains, but in losses, we alone are forced to bear the financial losses. Very convenient, right?
So much love comes with a price... This is the government of the love, as their marketing says. What is theirs belong to them, and what is yours also belong to them!

What do you think of this? Is there any regulation in the betting sector in your country?

Do you think the government should really collect alternative sources of income from its citizens such as online gambling?
I'm on the same country, therefore I face the same regulations. Let's hope Bitcoin gambling can help gamblers to evade this bullshit. It's rare enough to profit from gambling, and once a gambler finally achieves doing this, he still has to give a big slice of the cake to the government. Governments are constantly trying to increase their sources of income, and now they are focusing the digital world in order to do so, especially now that sports betting are so popular in the country. The eyes of the politicians must really shine...
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 22, 2024, 07:22:38 PM
So where's the fun when you lose your money?
The fun is there during the gambling session you played, not on its consequences. If you can't see any fun on the moment you are gambling, probably gambling isn't for you. So you should look for another hobbies which can be more emotionally rewarding. By your testimony, it looks like gambling is being painful for you, because you are losing money, and in no ways someone should do anything which is being harmful for them somehow. When gamblers who can afford to lose end losing money gambling, they just move on to their next appointment as soon as their gambling session is over without thinking on the loss, therefore this activity doesn't bring negative consequences for them the way it seems to be bringing to you.

If you keep thinking too much how gambling isn't being fun to you, it means that you used money you couldn't really lose or wasn't really willing to risk at all...

After creating a scam accusation, what do I do next? I will really appreciate for members on this thread to help me amplify and possibly get the attention of TheQuin and or any other members of the freebitco.in admin team.

Here is a link to my case - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5489484.0
Please help me out, amplify and bring to the attention of the appropriate persons so that it can be looked into and resolved. Thank you all.
You have done everything you could do for now, I guess. Wait for the feedback from the community along the following days. Wait some time and see what happens. Being optimistical and hopeful about it, we can expect freebitco.in to reply to your request, if they are asked by reputable members of this forum to do so. I made a post on your thread to give my humble contribution to this case. Cross fingers that enough attention will be attained soon in order to bring a final solution for this long lasting issue. 🤞
544  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEBITCO.IN SCAM, DEPOSIT NOT CREDITED on: March 22, 2024, 06:47:54 PM
I've also been following this case since the beginning when the user @jper3009 started posting his complaints at freebitco.in's official thread. He actually waited for too long to start this thread, because he was trying direct contact with support, without success, unfortunatelly. But I hope now through this thread his case can get more recognition and attention from other members of this forum who can help pressuring freebitco.in for a reply and solution for this issue, which is going on for incredible 7 months so far, as stated by OP.

I'm supportive to the cause presented by OP, in legit case, because it's really painful to seek for a solution for so long, while talking to the walls without any replies or solidarity from other people who just keep ignoring you. Especially now that we are in bullish market and OP could be using his deposit (which isn't a low sum of money) to profit from the increasements in Bitcoin's price.

To freebitco.in, I would say to not see this thread as an attack against their reputation, rather as a desperate request for a more active and attentive support towards their community of users.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it? on: March 21, 2024, 03:48:54 PM
I hate to break this to you son, but the casinos are the ones making the money.

People win and lose, and overall lose money, but the casinos consistently win money from any gambler.

That's just the reality.

Not sure how you want you cope with that, but that is basically how it works.
It's true casinos are the main ones profiting from this industry, but we can't say everyone else is losing, because there are also the lucky jackpot winners who make huge profit at once, which completely changes their realities, not being necessary to struggle financially anymore, if they manage to use the money wisely, making it to last on long run through investments. Of course, this category of gambler is just a minority when compared to the total number of gamblers in loss, but they do exist. For the majority, though, gambling will be an activity of pain or fun/pleasure, and nothing else...

Therefore, I would say gambling is a place for the minority to make money, and a place for the majority to have fun, aware that the probabilities are against them on long term, meaning it's more likely to lose money, than earn it! Conscious about the reality, people can finally decide by themselves if gambling is a good activity for them, or if they should seek for another hobbies, which will be more rewarding considering their subjective needs and goals as individuals.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your worst nightmare in a casino? on: March 21, 2024, 03:13:23 PM
Can’t imagine finally hitting my dream multiplier then casino seize my profit.
That is why you should make sure your account is verified and you have provided all your personal documents, as required by the house, to complete the KYC process, before starting to place your bets on the casino's games. And even if you don't want to do this beforehand, you have to be assured to be able to provide every potential documents they may ask, once you hit a jackpot and try to cashout a higher sum of money from the platform. Don't wait hitting the jackpot to decide if you will do the verification or not.

If you aren't able to do the KYC process, don't even begin to gamble at the casino. Rather, look for alternative casinos where KYC isn't mandatory, so that is one less nightmare to worry about. Of course there aren't many options of casinos like that, but you may find it if you do your research. One popular platform is freebitco.in. I've never heard they asked for KYC from their users, although I must say the house edge is pretty high when compared to its casinos pairs.
547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which player are you? on: March 21, 2024, 02:33:24 PM
Do you prefer games where you know right away whether you've won (or lost) casino style, or do you prefer other games like sports betting? Do you have any other favorite games?
I prefer casino games where the outcomes are instant. When I want to gamble I prefer doing this on the current moment, without having to wait until the end of the day or several days in order to know the results of my bets. It bothers me to keep thinking about the matches since before they begin. That is also why I avoid betting on BTC price prediction pools and similars. Casino games are fun enough to stick with, and once I'm done with my gambling session, it's over on that exact moment, so I don't have to keep thinking about it anymore as soon as it ends.

However, if there is a good opportunity to bet on sports matches, and if there are friends willing to gamble together, I would join as well, because it's funnier to gamble on such categories when there are people around to talk about and to help fading anxiety of thinking about the matches alone.
548  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might reach $100k before halviing. What is your exit strategy? on: March 19, 2024, 09:28:43 PM
What is your exit strategy  with bitcoin once it reaches $100k?
I had an exit plan before last ATH once Bitcoin hit 100,000$. However, as the predictions raised considerably since then, I don't think an exit plan is needed anymore once BTC hits the mark, because Bitcoin is expected to still hit 150,000$-200,000$ until the end of this bull season. So, I'm going to wait till 150K at least... Then I'm going to get rid of most of my coins, although I still pretend to keep a portion of it for the future, because we never know, and Bitcoin can still surprises us in future bullish cycles, although I think the current one is the HOT opportunity holders should finally cashout their profits and enjoy the money.

After all, people are holding for more than 10 years already... It's time to use the money before you are too old to do so. Enjoy life! That is the purpose of everything, after all. Be thankful for what you achieved and put this money into good use!
549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investment a necessity or a want? on: March 19, 2024, 08:07:59 PM
In a world where there isn't economical stability, authorities lie and cheat on their citizens and inflation eats all your purchasing power, I see investments as a necessity, or a basic need, if you want to live, instead of just surviving. At same time, we can also consider it a want, because you have to want a better life condition to see a purpose on investing your money. Unfortunatelly what we see is that most people don't want to make any efforts or learn anything in order to progress financially, therefore they don't start profitable investments, as they are voluntarily imprisioned on the traditional government, media and banking's system.

These people don't save money, therefore they never have money to invest. And that is due to consumerist habits they develop, encouraged by the media, while not having access to education or self-knowledge to persue investments opportunities which really worth, besides learning how to change their mindset on their favour. As consequence, these people don't want to invest at all, neither want to see it as a necessity which could totally change their lives for the better, if they saw purpose on fulfilling it.
550  Economy / Economics / Re: Big instutions and Banks have invested too much in Europe on: March 19, 2024, 02:26:52 PM
Your post makes me think: who is a more imminent threat to the world, Russia's axis or Blackrock? The global scenario nowadays is so confusing. You never know who the good and bad guys are anymore, and if in the end there are any good guys at all. It seems you can't trust or admire anyone these days, because there are lots of hidden interests on the backgrounds going on... The material world has heavily distanced itself from the world of ideas. Men aren't lead by principles anymore, rather it's money which drives every actions.

Money which should be just a simple and useful tool used by men to achieve a better life quality and prosperity, helping them to balance all their needs, and finally reaching happiness, has become the main purpose and sole goal in life. Men who can't be happy and can't understand the meaning of happiness, have turned themselves into devious ways to replace their shortage for an insatiable thirst for power, for enslaving other people into their totalitarian regimes, and consequently inflicting death and pain to everyone who isn't obedient to their excesses.

Where is the sovereignty of free and honored nations which have been built over the blood and sweat of many generations to brake the excesses of greedy and sadistic men and corporations? Ironically Russia's axis attempts to turn the Western world into its vassal, although the West is already a vassal of Blackrock.
551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All of us are more important to Bitcoin than Satoshi! on: March 19, 2024, 02:01:06 PM
Satoshi's anonymity could be interpreted as an empowering act. It places the focus on us, the users, rather than a single individual. This suggests that Satoshi might view the Bitcoin community, the people who use and promote it, as the true driving force behind the Bitcoin, even more important than the creator.
It actually places the focus in Bitcoin itself, and not on individuals involved in the process, being them the creator or the adopters, although every elements on this equation are equally important for Bitcoin's success. There isn't someone more important than another. Bitcoin wouldn't exist without its creator, and adoption wouldn't exist without Bitcoin. We are all interconnected. The point is that Satoshi helps its creation thriving by remaining anonymous.

I'd like to hear your views on this issue:
  • Will the outcome of the lawsuit involving Faketoshi Craig Wright affect the value of BTC?
Maybe some short term speculation is possible, but nothing significant on long run.

  • Does Satoshi's true identity matter to your BTC investment?
Yes, the real identity of Satoshi would have a heavy impact over Bitcoin's price, therefore affecting my personal investments. So, it does matter for me.

  • When will the community stop searching for Satoshi's identity?
There will be always people seeking for Satoshi's real identity. Misteries and charades have always fascinated human beings, so that is a subject that never stops being hyped. Even though it's dangerous for crypto adopters to find out who Satoshi really is, due to affecting the value of their personal investments, it seems they are still up to take the risks of doing so, just for a matter of curiosity.

It's like the Biblical story of Lot's wife who couldn't resist looking back the destruction Sodom's city, and was turned into a pillar of salt as consequence. People keep doing things which will prejudice them, even aware they shouldn't be doing that...
552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive withdrawal of Bitcoin on: March 19, 2024, 02:24:54 AM
Bitcoin's price is heavily volatile and manipulated by the big players of the market, however, I noticed this volatility is decreasing slowly when compared to previous periods of time, what means Bitcoin has been already much more volatile than it is right now in 2024. That is good news for investors, because it helps increasing optimism among them, and decreases the fear potential investors have when thinking about investing in Bitcoin, exactly due to the volatility factor. The more Bitcoin becomes splitted among more hands, less volatility we have.

For that reason, always there is a crash in price, it's interesting that average investors immediately purchase every coins dropped for sale in the market for a cheap price, because this way they are helping Bitcoin to become more decentralized, getting the coins away from the whales' hands who are constantly attempting to manipulate the market for their own personal gains. It's not an easy tasks, because these whales act with strategies and methods, but at same time it's undeniable they are getting less influent on long run. That is really good for Bitcoin and its sustainability as crypto currency and asset!
553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Fire Your Best Employee Who Is Addicted To Gambling ? on: March 18, 2024, 04:39:58 PM
Let's say you are an employer and there is a clause in every worker's contract that they should have a good moral character to remain in your company.
Ok. A gambler doesn't necessarily have moral character issues, so in my opinion he can be a gambler and still remain on the company. The case has to be analyzed individually, though. The manager or boss have to make sure his gambling habits aren't impacting the company negatively through his performance at the job.

Then you found out that one of your best employees who happens to be your best-performing employee is addicted to gambling and spends a lot of money on casinos.

Will you fire him because you think that those addicted to gambling do not have a good moral character and should not stay in your company?

Or you will just ignore it because you cannot afford to lose a good employee, because you worry that sales might suffer if you cut him from your company?
I will ignore his personal affairs with gambling, because as you said, he is one of my best employees, therefore I conclude he is being benefical for the business, despite being a heavy gambler. I would just talk to him and advise him regards his gambling routine in order to try helping to not let it go out of control, not only because he is a good employee, but also because he is my friend, so I feel like I have right to talk to him about it.
554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Minimalism in Bitcoin would slow your accumulation process on: March 18, 2024, 02:09:56 PM
What I'm saying is that as much as it's important to buy based on our financial capacity, it's also good to put in additional effort to starch more in our portfolio if we are interested in making a good profit from our holdings. Remember that your profit is directly proportional to how much you've starched up in your portfolio.
I agree with you. Many people talk about DCA as the best investment strategy, although in my opinion it doesn't maximize the potential of the investment at its full capacity. If you can buy a large portion of Bitcoin at once when its price is pretty cheap, why would you buy only a fraction of your total capacity in order to do DCA? If you have the money and can buy a lot of Bitcoin at once on the dip, then do this. If you still want to do DCA after that, you can do with your monthly income, but don't waste the opportunity of buying most Bitcoin as possible when the moment looks propitious.

Although the market is unpredictable, investors just have to pay attention to Bitcoin's cycles and important marks in order to know when to buy larger amounts of BTC and when to wait. To be conscious about what is a bear and bull market can help investors to grow their portfolios on the right moments. The problem is that people start investing when Bitcoin is hitting a new ATH, and once the market crashes, they want to immediately sell everything in despair...
555  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 18, 2024, 01:53:35 PM
Ukraine can do some damage, but their cause is totally lost.

Cool
It's not solely Ukraine's cause, but the cause of the whole Western world at stake, because once Putin conquers Ukraine definitely, he is going to push forward to the next territories. Each new territory he controls, more powerful he will become, just like Hitler in WW2. And by the threats, presumption and manipulation of reality vocalized by Putin, everyone can be assured he won't stop... The logic of not wishing USA to get involved on the conflict is the same than not wishing USA to get involved in WW2, because it was a war in European territory (what didn't prevented US from suffering Pearl Harbor's attack, anyway).

USA and every other Western nations can join together and fight side by side while everyone is still upstanding, or wait each of the allies to be destroyed one by one individually, having to fight the boss alone or finally resigning to Putin's dictatorship, what wouldn't be hard to believe to happen in a hypothetical Trump's rulership, since he has already shown to have no remorse by dropping his allies on the devil's throat, if they don't pay more money to NATO.

When money is put above loyalty, honor and values, evil overpowers.

At the current times, the free world needs more rulers like Théoden, and less rulers like Denethor...

556  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: March 18, 2024, 01:11:57 PM
I remember when I was gambling like crazy on multiplier game during promo days. RPs received every 500 satoshis wagered were raised by x5, so I was able to hit the 100,000 RPs mark really fast. I made 200,000 or 300,000 RPs in a single day once. At same time it's great and makes you feel good, it's also dangerous, because it starts increasing the invincibility feeling inside you. Profit is made so easily and instantly, that you think nothing can stop you anymore, so you progressively get less and less shy on the game, risking higher and higher, until finding out you were just a mortal, like everyone else. Tongue

In the end, all the extra RPs, cashback, Golden Tickets and lottery tickets received aren't enough to overcome your total loss on long term. They are just baits to keep you gambling further. Freebitco.in can be really profitable, and thankfully it has been to me, but if that is your goal, you have to stay away from the gambling boards...
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: March 18, 2024, 12:45:56 PM
-Have you ever bet at the wrong place and the wrong time?
No, I have never got involved on the kind of situation you shared in your post. Always I gambled I did on a specific time of the day for that practice, without prejudicing another activities and duties of my daily life, such as attending to lessons at school or gambling during worktime. During my childhood I didn't like to go to school, but at same time I wasn't introduced to gambling yet, at least not through the same concept of gambling I have today, neither I had colleagues to gamble with, because this activity was strange to them. So, when I was too annoyed and bothered to go to school, I just resorted to videogames. That was my safe heaven.

And thankfully I didn't develop interest for gambling back then, even though I knew its existence, as I watched movies, saw family members gambling and we even played few gambling games together, although rarely. If I did develop that interest, I guess I wouldn't be prepared to deal with it yet in a smart and responsible way, so I think I would have lost all the little money I had back then, which I used to purchase videogames and snacks. No regrets about that, though. These are some of the best memories I have in my life.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake and Bruno Mars An Example of How Gambling Addiction Can Affect Anyone on: March 18, 2024, 12:58:43 AM
I found another link about the allegation, the good part is they added something positive about it.

Yahoo
Quote
The source also alleges that Bruno is taking home $90 million a year from his current deal with MGM — and he just launched a cocktail lounge, The Pinky Ring, at another Vegas-based MGM property, the Bellagio.

So I guess he is just using whatever income he will make on the same casino where he owes a lot of money. This is easy for them since they are superstars in the music industry. They can make that amount in no time but the only trouble that I see is if this keeps up. MGM would love to let him play more because once he is deep in debt with them, they could just call it quits whenever he performs in their place.
If the allegations are true then I think he should try seeking help. It's not forever that they will make tons of money, and with their kind of lifestyle, I doubt their savings can hold it out once they become old and fewer people will buy their music. Gambling won't get them anywhere, if they want entertainment, they should make a plan and budget on how much they are willing to lose in each gambling day. Not like this.
On the link provided by OP they say the same thing, besides claiming that after paying taxes and debt, the artist still makes 1.5$ million dollars per night.

Quote
They went on to say that Mars apparently makes $90million off the deal he makes with the casino, but after paying off his debts and taxes, takes home $1.5million per night.
Even spending huge money with gambling, he still makes huge profit for himself through his work. Well, it is absurd how much he is spending gambling, but considering how much insane profit he is making, I guess he is still following the 'only gamble what you can afford to lose' rule. These artists make million of dollars in a blink of an eye, so to have a millionaire debt isn't a big issue for them.

I would be more concerned about the average gambler who doesn't have a source of income to pay off his debt...

I don't know is it just for me or it's for everyone - yesterday I got 3 different email messages from Freebitco.in with free WoF spins. And same thing happened today. Previously it sometimes happened that they send 2 emails per day, but 3, I don't remember such thing. Quite cool to get some extra sats/RP's or tickets.
Yes, but it doesn't always happen. It's probably because you were chosen for the bonus flash promotion, which gives you 6 hours to complete different tiers of wagering challenges, varying from 0.0005 BTC to 0.05 BTC. Each tier gives you access to higher rewards consisting in RPs, lottery tickets, WOF spins, Golden Tickets and FUN tokens. I guess you received one email, like everyone does daily, an extra one announcing the promotion, and the third one announcing the promotion has ended (after 6 hours). Each email comes with an extra free WOF spin, that is really good!

I'm saying that, because coincidentally I received that promo email yesterday, totalizing 3 emails on the same day, so it may have happened to you too.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: March 17, 2024, 08:45:53 PM
This is an advice based on my experience, don’t ever insert gambling on your schedule if you really don’t have free time for it because it will always result to disaster in both gambling and your life.
You are completely right, but I think everyone has some spare time for entertainment on their schedules, no? Even if you a busy hardworking man, you must have free time one or another day for your hobby activities. That is where you should introduce gambling in your schedule. Maybe you are just gambling too often, so it's consuming a lot of your time, but if you decrease the frequency you gamble and the time your gambling sessions last, you may find an interesting balance in your routine, what do you think? This way you don't need to completely get rid of gambling, since it seems an activity you like very much.
