541  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Block Erupter USB Sales [New Sales Policy with New Price] on: June 24, 2013, 01:14:04 PM
By buying USB Block Erupters at 1.99 BTC, you made the decision to give your money to friedcat in exchange for the product. If you got your product, nothing is wrong. There was never any promise that you would be refunded if prices dropped.

My divs via Bitfunder always came thursday or friday, only last week on wednesday - i think this week will be the same and relax...
I don't think anybody is talking about this.   Smiley  People are talking about direct shareholder dividends.  Those are Wednesday, and it's taking some time to get them pushed through the blockchain (I'd wager it's because of the solo mined blocks needing confirmations).

So, it takes 100 blocks for coins to be considered valid according to https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Confirmation (I always thought it was 120, apparently that is just a visual thing).

My satoshi payment was in block 237375, so at block 237475 it is safe to assume everything will be cleared up.  We are at block 237404 at the time of writing this post.... 71 blocks to go (or less).  Assume 6 blocks an hour... In less then 12 hours we will have the divs?

Does this sound right?

I would bet that this is the reason. Perhaps in the future, friedcat should withhold unconfirmed coins until the next week. It would be a bit less confusing and inconvenient for shareholders.

First solo block:

https://blockchain.info/tx/cba743ea1b7904c5624e0ee75f12d177ceb214c07f8e8b55ff2eb082404eb54a?show_adv=true

From now on the solo result of ASICMINER will have "Mined By ASICMiner" within the CoinBase.

Now I need to figure out how to determine the hashrate from blocks with ASICMiner's coinbase. Hmm...

Grab what you can afford and watch friedcat's posts religiously.
...

I wrote a bot that scrapes his "Latest Posts" page and sends me an email and text message when he posts anything.

That's the closest thing to religion that I practice.
546  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: DHS is going after Mt Gox - NOT Bitcoin. on: May 15, 2013, 09:39:06 PM
One must wonder if, once upon a time, CoinLab saw something MtGox could get in trouble for, then after suing them said "hey feds, look over here!"

Gosh I'm feeling stupid because I sold at 1.3BTC

If you made a profit, don't feel stupid.

Agreed. Lofty expectations can lead to disappointment and anger that one is owed something. Leading one to try to dictate how things are supposed to be. Reminds me of the Stones song - "You Can't Always Get What You Want", or the meme "First World Problems". Smiley

There's no reason not to be excited... after all, ASICMINER is setting these lofty expectations by completely surpassing all previous ones.

These dividends on a weekly (WEEKLY) basis are unheard of, and if you'd prefer to just sit at your desk and happily nod, that's fine with me.

I believe you're attributing my words to Michael? Please don't put words in someone else's mouth. Smiley Nor proclaim that someone is not excited because they are not demanding that ASICMINER not hold back dividends instead of re-investing some into future developments.

Some investors just show excitement in another way, could you not consider that?

My bad, sorry about that Michael.

I certainly agree that nobody should be demanding anything either way. I trust friedcat & friends to make good decisions. That's why I gave them my money in the first place!  Grin

I'm getting 0.034 (just from this auction) without taking expenses into account. Also adding 0.01464 from mining revenue, that comes to 0.04864 / share.

Can, uh... somebody double-check this?  Grin

I put this together for my own convenience, but anyone is welcome to use it. I'll probably be adding some ASICMINER-relevant links to the site as well.

http://deepfriedcat.com

If you use the site, I strongly encourage you to donate to SmiGueL, as he maintains the charts! His BTC address is linked to from the page.

nice. is that dividend projection accurate? looks it. i'm just surprised. .014 next week predicted, and it's saturday.

It simply takes 90% of the mined coins for the previous 7 days and divides it by the number of shares. 90% is an estimate, and it doesn't include any equipment auctions or sales.

Does anyone know who the owner of these charts is?

I know!  Cheesy

Using the pictures (or links) is of course no problem. (Mentioning my name would be appreciated)

I will definitely credit you for the charts. They're great!

I'm setting up a site dedicated to information on ASICMINER, and I'd like to embed the live charts on the site. I think you may need to change your sharing preferences for me to be able to do this, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone know who the owner of these charts is?

I'd like to embed them somewhere and I want to make sure it's ok with them.

Arklan, could you reduce my order to 1 USB miner? Thanks.
560  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) on: May 06, 2013, 02:17:30 AM
Put me in for 2.

The price is far too high, but I made more than 4 BTC today from selling XRP, which is also far too high. The two cancel out, and when you factor in the "awesome"-factor, I'm ok with this. Grin
