541  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-02] Allianz Chief Economic Advisor: Bitcoin is a commodity on: November 02, 2017, 03:09:06 PM
Bitcoin is not a currency, thinks Mohamed El-Erian, who is a Chief Economic Advisor in Allianz. Explaining his position on the recent economic forum in Singapore, he told:

“A currency serves as a predictable store of value, and serves as a medium of exchange that's pretty stable in value as well — bitcoins aren't that there yet, they're still trying to find stability so it's more of a commodity than it's a currency.”

As CNBC reminds, last month the same analyst told that Bitcoin is overestimated and it does not deserve such prices (he was talking about $4000, BTC has just surpassed $7000 this morning).

However, Allianz is the third largest financial service by revenue, and the opinion of its experts should not be underestimated. Maybe Bitcoin is a currency, but...Read more

Bitcoins are not currencies, even if we all call it that and wish for it. The fact of the matter is, bitcoins are not currencies because it is not legally accepted tender, it is not backed up by commodity such as gold and silver, nor is it backed up by any government. All of which are unique characteristics of a fiat currency, which bitcoins do not have. I guess, they are correct in their classification as there is really now way yet to classify it otherwise. Maybe in the future there would be some kind of classification for it.
542  Economy / Speculation / Re: Segwit2x in November on: November 02, 2017, 03:03:50 PM
What effect on price do you think this will have? Could we have similar crash as in July?

Based from what is happening, I am thinking that it is similar to what happened in the August 1 possible pork with just segwit. Prices really went down but after everything was cleared prices went up pretty fast. I think it would have lead to even $10,000 not for the issue with china banning stuff like ICO and btc exchanges. That stirred up a lot of drama that halted the price increase and dropped prices a little.
543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you surprise by bitcoin price now? on: November 02, 2017, 02:46:45 PM
I am extremely surprised, this price increase was too quick and I don't think it is sustainable. There will likely be a correction as the altcoins are getting really cheap. Likely whales and the whole trading community will let go of their bitcoins and buy alts if they get cheap and that will return the balance between them. And if people buy back into altcoins likely btc will go down. I don't think this was brought about by the fork, since I think the effect of such would be a drop in price due to uncertainty.
544  Economy / Speculation / Re: Finally we hit the 7000$ level on: November 02, 2017, 09:32:00 AM
None of the major USD exchanges has touched the $7000 level yet - all have remained under that price still. Other than that, with how things go right now, and the hard fork possibly steering the market up, $10,000 seems to be a formality rather than a difficult achievement. In most cases when certain things happen too often, the fun and interesting part of them vanish, but that's never the case with Bitcoin breaking through new highs constantly. If you would ask people in December of last year that we would reach current levels in the next year, they would laugh in your face. But look who's laughing now, holders can just sit back and relax seeing their wealth increase - life couldn't get any better, or can it?

I would love to see $10,000 levels, but that won't happen in an instant. I think there will always be a correction before we hit another all time high like that. It's the usual course of bitcoins ever since the start. There will be a correction here as the rise is too fast and the market will not be able to support it as when people start dumping everybody follows due to fears of losing those profits.
545  Economy / Speculation / Re: Peak and correction coming on: November 02, 2017, 09:20:26 AM
6950$.
In my humble opinion we're really close to hit the top.

I don't think the bull run will last till fork date.
It's a matter of few days, best case.

We're in bubble territory, so take profit and be liquid.

I also think this is the highest it could go. I already liquidated a huge chunk of my bitcoins into cheap altcoins like Doge, ETH, Waves, and others. I think it will dump by the time it touches $7,000 and it will not go beyond it. If it does, it will not reach further.

I am not sure why people are hoarding bitcoins at this point, because if there would be a hard fork the new coins will not have replay protection. Which means everybody will only be able to transact once with there coins and those coins will go to whatever chain they choose.
546  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: WTB Eve online accounts with bitcoin +- $400 each on: November 01, 2017, 06:46:47 PM
Hi all

I'm seriously looking to buy Eve Online accounts for bitcoin.  Preferably over 60mill sp.  PM me if you have an offer. Will also buy supers and Titans in keepstars.

Check with tecshare, I read on the digital goods section that he is selling an account over there for eve online. I'm not too familiar with it, but I was able to read something like this there, but I am not sure if the account he is selling is exactly what you are looking for. I think he's selling it right around the same price you are offering.

Also, maybe you should move this to the digital goods section under accounts and invites sub-section.
547  Economy / Economics / Re: Writing on money might be illegal in USA on: November 01, 2017, 06:36:55 PM
I have research about "Writing on money might be illegal". Then finally I found these Info. I will drop here them for you. Read and know.

Writing on money is called Mutilation of national bank obligations

“Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.”

United States Code

TITLE 18 – CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE
PART I – CRIMES
CHAPTER 17 – COINS AND CURRENCY
§ 333. Mutilation of national bank obligations

However, that shouldn't scare you.  Legality exists to continue your enslavement.  Submit or not.

By possessing papers that have graffiti on them does not imply that the defacement was by the current possessor.

This is illegal in most jurisdictions as it destroys the paper money and causes the government to replace those mutilated paper money.

I am curious though, why are you posting this here? This is like a off topic post and surely it would either be deleted or moved by the mods for sure.
548  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Freedom on: November 01, 2017, 06:30:11 PM
That id why many people are leaning towards BTC specially in its security but still many people do not understand how it works and hesitating to get it also in my opinion if majority of the population in a certain country will use BTC their government will try to manipulate it however as its stands now as a free currency yeah it can be a form of freedom to us if we use it wisely.

Yeah i'm accept your point. most of the people he don't no how use and how to work for the growth. Bitcoin is good to use and it safe to your account information. If you need to use you will know the process. it will helpful to use future growth information.
Bitcoin is give more opportunity for improve your self and i will give more information for the future.

Information? Haha, I just want to make more money through Bitcoin, I don't care it can become legally or replace the payment system or change the world's economy, etc ... Only the price of Bitcoin increases is enough for me, other things aren't important.

Then you are one of the worst users of bitcoins. Those who just buy into it just for the sake of profiting from speculative investments. This is the attitude that will not prosper bitcoins but rather just keep it at status quo. The best thing to do with bitcoins is believe in it and use it like it would be the replacement for fiat currency. Make it circulate and not just hodl.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If people stop buying bitcoin on: November 01, 2017, 01:28:34 PM
What will happen if people just stop buying bitcoin? Will bitcoin be as usable as now Or will it be a step towards the end?

How will the market value react to it, people wanting to sell bitcoin but there is no one to buy.

Then bitcoins will die. Since bitcoin is just driven by supply and demand, then killing demand would lead to it dying. This is liken to those cryptocurrencies that are dead coins already because there are thousands and thousands of sell orders and no one wants to buy it even at 1 satoshi. I guess, it is possible but the chances are little unless bitcoin code is compromised and no action was taken to fix the problem.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: return as soon as possible and win back your losses . on: November 01, 2017, 05:11:40 AM
We all can lose in gambling  and lose our money but shall we stop or try to win back what we lost ?

That will be the wisest decision taken by you. As running after losses won't  get you anything else than more losses.  However you can be lucky sometimes to win the amount back but let's not forget it's the house who wins in the end not the players.

Indeed, that is true. I've been there, and I guess a lot of other players have as well. Losses should remain losses, you should not try to chase after it and try to get a positive balance. That's impractical, and there is a great chance that you will not get back those losses but a better chance at losing more and getting further buried in losses. I've seen so much write ups about that situation as well.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Invest with me [Sports Betting] on: November 01, 2017, 05:07:30 AM
Where's the proof? No one will just blindly send you money just because you claim such a thing. The saying goes, extraordinary claims requires extraordinary proof. If you want people to believe you then you should consider posting your tips first then we'll know by then if you are true to your words. Like other tipsters, they post daily tips and people can confirm that you did win the bet. Just don't edit your post, so we know it was legit.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What did you buy for money won? on: October 31, 2017, 09:39:13 PM
Hi guys!
It's often discussed here that you can't make any money from gambling, but in general it's just not true. House edge is usually quite low so the most of the money go back to players. Of course some one wins more than he bet, some one wins less and loses in the end. It's all about luck. I am sure that the most of you was lucky at least once and made some nice money. So my question goes here: How did you spend this money? Did you buy some presents for your close ones? Did you buy something for you? Did you invested it, saved it or even put back into gambling (and then made even more or lost it?)?
Share your stories Smiley)
Cheers,
OshiHugo

I pamper my self because winning on gambling is like an achievement. You feel lucky and it makes you happy every time you win. I drink or treat my friends.

Pamper, how? Would you be going to a day spa, go drinking, go shopping? That's very vague though. Also, when you win, how much winnings would you require so that you can pamper yourself and/or treat your friends on a night of drinking? I think this is pretty subjective, since if I win like $1 that is already considered as money won. But I would not be treating anyone if I only won a dollar, right?
553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TOP 20 CRYPTOCURRENCY BOOKIES (Interactive Rating) on: October 31, 2017, 09:27:46 PM
Interactive Rating of TOP 20 Bookies that accept Cryptocurrency can see here: http://100bookies.com/bookies-that-accept-cryptocurrency-eng/

Generally I hate these websites that lists these bookies and casinos, what they are actually doing is just to promote their referal links and the top 1 on their list is the one that pays the most for their affiliate program. That means these are just really unreliable to be the basis for someone really looking for a good sports book or casino. Though some are legitimately reviewing sites and recommending based on their true opinion, but more than half is what I described.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbooks 101 on: October 31, 2017, 09:24:33 PM
The advice still holds...

Yeah it is, but really what's the point of necroing an old post from 2015 that no one replies to? It's like you just remembered you had a thread like this and replied to it.
Though, it would be a good read for newbies, but generally a new topic would have been better and just linked this one on it.
555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Casino You've ACTUALLY WON? on: October 31, 2017, 05:00:11 AM
I played in a lot of casino, and most them are legit, ypu need to search for the reputable casino, the newest one with a lot of games is stake.com,  reputable gambling sites examples are primedice, bitsler, cryptogames, I also played in moneypot, fortunejack is a legit sites but the customer support is a bit slow

Though being legit doesn't guarantee winnings. In gambling there is no sure thing, there is only statistic and house edge. In statistics, it states that the more you repeat an event the closer the number is to infinity will result to its ultimate result. In this case, since all gambling sites have house edge then it means that every bet you make really does decrease your bankroll every time.
556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips/picks/predictions are flooding the gambling discussion section on: October 31, 2017, 04:53:24 AM
Probably now is the time to create a new subsection for these topics. Since I think they are a class of their own and should be grouped into their own place.
I agree with you, a new subsection for gambling related tips will be good and make gambling discussion clean.

I have also seen many tipster thread in gambling discussion section lately but most of them end up after 1-2 tips. Which is just useless, there are not any reliable tipster here who keep posting picks everyday with good results for free.

Not sure why the mods have not yet implemented this recommendation. I think it's pretty much logical to do it. The gambling discussion section is littered with these threads and a lot of times you would only see these threads and not anything else.

My exact same question, I think this is getting out of hand and the number of active tipster and prediction threads are flooding the gambling discussion. Which I think should not be the case. The thing is, if this continues, then we'll likely to see two pages full of them and nothing else to read about. So I am proposing to really have these threads moved to their own sub-section here on the gambling section.
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Casino You've ACTUALLY WON? on: October 30, 2017, 11:28:47 PM
Someone post their experiences with casinos please, I'm a very hesitant when it comes to gambling yet alone ONLINE gambling but if I hear that some of these casinos actually pay out I might give it a try...

Just stick with the legit casinos. That's the only tip you'll get. Because if you rely on other people's experience, that may not be the same experience you will get. Some won and likely more people lost. So if you did listen to someone that won on a particular casino, that doesn't mean you will also win at that casino. It is more likely you will lose. The conclusion is that pick the casino that is legit and is entertaining for you. Because it is not about profits in gambling, but more on enjoying it.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling ends on: October 30, 2017, 11:19:16 PM
can this world stop in gambling?
someone who like to gamble hard to escape from the gambling trap. almost like a drug addict. Even after they went bankrupt still struggling to gamble by borrowing money for gambling. Actually what do they expect?

First off, your grammar is one of the worst I've seen. It's like you just translated your words from google translate and because your grammar with your own language is bad, the result was worse.

About your topic, it's pretty much repetitive at this point. Generally you're asking about gambling addiction and would a person be able to stop. Both of which are repetitive topics on the forum already.
559  Economy / Gambling / Re: What if you can enjoy all the gambling on one site? on: October 30, 2017, 09:42:04 AM
I think there are a lot of gambling sites that offer more than just one game, so I do not see the point of you making a new one and proclaiming it is your own unique idea. Like what Aengus said, Stake.com has a lot of games within their platform. Similarly, Fortune Jack offers the same, a casino with multiple games to play with. There are a lot more these sites, so I think you should reconsider how you guys will market your site.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any tricks available in gambling to won the bet? on: October 30, 2017, 09:35:33 AM
Counting cards is not illegal, and if the casino catches you all they do is ask you to stop playing.

You would be looking silly shoveling cards in front of a crowd.

especially in a poker game.

I'm not sure what you meant by shoveling cards here. Why would you shovel cards in front of a crowd anyway? That's pretty stupid. If you are pertaining to counting cards, I don't think you will also need to shovel cards or even look at previous ones, the thing is that they do it mentally only.

About the casinos telling players to stop, that is not the usual case from what I heard. They usually call players caught counting cards and they get some beating out of it, I guess the movies were true.
