the alt-coin bubble is popping ...
It likely is but what will emerge from the survivors should be some decent small cap coins with a possibility of a future The rest end up cryto-trashed It's happened in every new sector of economy and it will happen with cryptos.

Does anyone know if there is a yield advantage in any of the algorithms when cpu mining? (I know OP said he hasn't cpu mined, but maybe someone else)

Dude, only one coin is nuts. In fact most altcoins are nuts, but if you are going to go with it I'd say BTC, LTC, DRK.

Hi, is there any news? IPO is supposed to start next Wednesday that this has been inactive for a week and no new work posted.

Annonimity makes sense. Even if you don't understand everything else, drk has (will have) something many people seeks while there is no intrinsic reason why anyone would want one scrypt coin over the others.

Anyway i don't even understand why people mine this stuff as it's not profitable at all...it would cost me money to mine it & sell it
Most people don't mine to sell immediately. If you do, most coins are not profitable for the majority of miners if you take everything into account (investment, power consumption, time). Most people mine for fun and the promise of future profit. Can you do the same just by buying in an exchange? Definitely, I usually do, but it is not the only way.

Lol people actually pay BTC for these scam pumps? You do realize that the 'mailing service' is pushing the price and the 'whale' has already heavily invested. It works on momentum, not from a single person (which they want you to believe). Yup... as they say Look Around the Poker Table; If You Can’t See the Sucker, You’re ItNWO, I'm sorry he stole you, but look at the bright side, you've learned a (fairly expensive) lesson but it could have been much worse. I think I remember the post in which this guy solicited members for his group and I think he didn't talk about a 1BTC entrance fee. Never trust, never pay for secrets/information, almost always it is scam.

Quote from: azguard on Today at 06:40:54 AM Quote Hirocoin and Darkcoin use the X11 algorithm. X11 does not give GPUs a huge advantage over CPUs. My CPUs are mining DRK right now.
Will it be then faster to mine DARKCOIN on win8 cuz if much faster then win7.
i dont know. i only use win7 OK. Thanx for quick answer. I will try this for weekend and see for my self Please update when you do. I'm mining DRK using Ubuntu. If you find significant increases in performance I may play a bit to try something also.

I'm looking for a reliable automated escrow service. I don't have anything against human escrows, but I don't like depending on someone being online.
I tried a couple of times with MitM.io (part of Moolah.io) but had problems in both occasions. In the first one the buyer could not release the funds and I had to wait for a couple of days. In the second one the buyer has sent the funds but their system didn't see them and I've had to contact support again.
I'm ok with paying a fee, but I want something I know I can count on. The amounts I trade are not very big (usually under $200) but I intend to do several of them per day and can't be opening support cases for all of them.
Any ideas?

localbitcoins have an automated escrow service
Thanks, I had not realized that.

I would try again with Bitstamp. I also had an issue verifying identity there but I submitted again and everything went fine. If not, I agree with many before, localbitcoins is great.

They may have. Open up a ticket with them. It's 9 hours later in Moscow right now.
Tnx, i have already, just wanted to hear other people's experiences
Please update when they answer. I wanted to use them but finally decided against it because I found them too expensive. If they don't clarify your case then it is a no-brainer. Good luck!
