541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 26, 2023, 06:05:00 AM
Anyway, back to the topic, Donaire got the advantages on this one, so he should make a big statement rather than having to see him barely winning the fight. And if that's the case, he should already retire.

Fighting 2 times against the monster is already a good experience for Donaire. He should not be surprised by Santiago's performance as compared to Inoue, Santiago should be easily dealt with. This fight will be the test for Donaire if he still can dominate the 118 bantamweight division now that Inoue is out on the way. If successfully win, I hope he will face right away a good top boxer at the bantamweight for a unification fight.

I want to see him facing Jason Moloney in a unification fight in the future as it's only him I see that can give a tough fight for Donaire. But if Donaire loses here against Santiago, I won't expect a Moloney fight obviously as that was clearly out of the topic.

Jason Moloney already evades Donaire giving up the chance to fight for a title.  I feel that Moloney still acknowledges Donaire's skills despite of the "old" age.  I do not think Moloney will have that courage to face Donaire and most probably he will explore the other title of the same division rather than contending  the title of Donaire if ever Donaire wins the fight against Santiago.  If ever Donaire wins the title in his upcoming fight, the only chance seeing this two boxer fight is the unification bout if ever Moloney gets the other title and the sanctioning body will have a mandatory titel unification bout (if that is possible), else Moloney will keep ducking Donaire until Moloney feels Donaire is not that capable anymore.

What's the purpose of that? In my opinion, that's not a smart idea. If Moloney really feels that he is a champion, he should be willing to fight anyone who wants to challenge him. He is younger than Donaire, so he may have an advantage. Besides, Donaire is not unbeatable as he suffered a bad defeat against Inoue in their last fight.

We need to wait for the outcome of this fight first, and if Donaire does become a champion again, maybe Moloney will change his mind.
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 26, 2023, 05:35:36 AM

Personally, I want to see KJ McDaniels vs Justin Brownlee in the Finals.

Their expected bout during McDaniel's tenure at NLEX where they are the expected team to beat in the playoffs got spoiled because of numerous delays due to the pandemic. It resulted in a longer conference that time and affects McDaniels' timeline and that's the reason he didn't finish his term on NLEX.

But knowing Meralco is really against a tough team, they will really have a hard time breaching the Semi-Finals.

It looks like it's unlikely to happen anymore as KJ McDaniels' performance so far has been below our expectations. However, I don't want to jump to an early conclusion. Perhaps they have something that would make the series against TNT interesting. They just need to win Game 2, and maybe they'll have a chance to show that they have a decent shot at beating TNT in this series.
543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 25, 2023, 03:05:38 PM

There has been a significant change in the odds for the TNT vs Meralco game. Initially, TNT was favored by only -3.5 points, but due to their blowout win, the odds have moved slightly. I am now enticed to bet on TNT as I believe they will win by double digits.
With that convincing win, I think that the TNT will cover that -5.5 spread (currently in Stake).

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is still undefeated since he went on as the import of the TNT. He isn't a prolific scorer like other imports, but it's good to see other TNT local players helping him offensively. He isn't like Franklin, or Jordan Williams, or Hudson who is scoring more than 30 or even 40, but he's an all around player. He can shoot, but at the same time he can also play inside the paint and knows how to pass as well. I think this will go 2-0 favoring the TNT.

He has now become a triple-double machine. In the last game, he contributed 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists. That's a very impressive stat line for an import, and the 13 assists show how good of a team player he is. Additionally, his field goal percentage is high at 50%.

Perhaps he was challenged by Brownlee and wants to beat him, so he will do his best to win and advance to the finals.

And mind you, this guy also wants to become a naturalized player.
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | Unified WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | May 7 on: March 25, 2023, 02:50:30 PM
Before that, we are not even sure that Casimero will pass the weigh-in against Butler.

There was a possibility that Casimero would fail to make the required weight, which is why he violated the rules. He was too desperate to make weight. However, both Inoue and Casimero have moved up now, and there is a chance they will meet again. Casimero needs to ensure that he improves his ranking so he can become the top challenger for Inoue once Inoue becomes a champion.
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin loan for students in higher institution. on: March 24, 2023, 09:59:29 PM
let me know if the forum have a board where students are being support in education by giving them student loan To help them in education
Forum has a Lending board and you can open your loan request topic.

However, you have a very new account so it's hard for you to get a loan without valid collateral. Even higher ranked accounts can scam after they successfully got their loans. So with your new account, no chance to get any loan without collateral.

Actually when you ask for a loan, who care what you need money to do for what purpose? The loan provider can not verify reasons you said so actually they don't mind about such.
You should establish a higher position first so you can be qualified for a loan. And I don’t think you can take a loan if the loan provider sees nothing in your account and that you are still incapable of paying a loan. However, if you have a friend that is also in this forum, you can actually send him a message and ask him of your intention. That’s another option since it’s hard for you to be approved from taking loans in a lending board.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: March 24, 2023, 09:40:51 PM
In my opinion, I think referral bonuses are typically waste of one's time because of its processes that seems so impossible to claim and recently I came across a thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5437603.0 seeking for Casinos with paid referral bonuses and I tool out time to read most of the responses there and they all seem impossible to claim referral bonuses.
I wish to know if anyone has successfully claimed referral bonuses and how easy was the process and what Casino did you claim those bonuses
I don’t think it’s hard to claim some referral bonuses as the site could offer you in forms of free bet. Although I’ve never experienced that but I learned it from my friend of mine. However, referral bonuses are instead an edge for players rather than a waste of time. It will only be a waste if you don’t use it that might pave way for some winnings, who knows. But mostly, it’s a form of reward so you can always enjoy it as much as you want.
547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pastor Shuts Down His Church After Winning About $140,000 In Sports Betting.. on: March 24, 2023, 09:18:54 PM
If am in his position who is making use of the church to fulfill the personal needs, then I would always want to resort into quitting as long as I have other means to survive by making use of my gambling winnings. However, if my current business is also in progress and leaving it would mean closing an opportunity to be profitable, then I would never quit and would always want to continue the business, and might as well add some capital from my winnings in gambling.
548  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the government can really make a way to end poverty or it depends on us? on: March 24, 2023, 08:59:26 PM
In my country i observed so many people doing rally and blame the government why the basic needs price rise and the salary is still very low and not enough for daily expenses, is this the effect of the Ukraine and russia war that makes the gas or crude oil so high at price and they pass the gas expenses to the product and it ends to very high price of the basic needs that make us very poor, I see government has a move to resolve the problem but many people are still blaming the government.
They can always do that if they really try hard to. But since the government has a lot of responsibilities to fulfill, they can’t hardly provide the needs of all families. Though they can give assistance but those are only good for short term, and if these people won’t work hard and strive hard on their own, they will only be starving to death. That’s why putting an end to poverty does not depend completely on the government alone, the citizens should also do their part so they can provide for their family and alleviate poverty.
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC needed for retirement in 10 years? on: March 24, 2023, 08:40:44 PM
Hey guys,

so I have been buying BTC (and admittedly ETH) since October/November 2020. I have been sticking to that strategy and
even put larger amounts when there was a steep decline in a short period of time, everything on my cold wallet, nothing left on exchanges.

With prices starting to slowly rise again (not sure if I really like that, always have the feeling to never have enough), what would you think
is enough to retire in 2032? I know that nobody can tell that with certainity, but would love to hear your estimates:

I think 10 BTC and 100 ETH would set you up for good, so once that is reached, I would stop accumulating, what is your plan?

You are not sure yet if these coins will continue to increase their price, so never limit the coins in your portfolio if you are seeing opportunities to earn. But always remember, never invest more than you can afford to lose especially in highly volatile coins. Instead, you can always try to diversify your investments with crypto and other investment assets so you can have more chances of earning and enjoy your retirement soon.
550  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: March 23, 2023, 09:57:36 PM
In the long run, you can not win the house. The chance you can be lucky and win big to become rich will always be less than 1% while in long time, the house will always be the winner.

Just as it has been advised several times, gamble for just fun.
Even if you will use the most reliable AI projects, that won’t change the fact that in gambling, the house always take the winnings, and left the gamblers losing in the end. Besides, AI cannot guarantee someone to win in gambling, they only answer some fixed questions but cannot predict and give accurate answers especially in an uncertain gambling market. So AI is not reliable in the end, better to gamble using your own human mind than to expect help from AI.
551  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can old trading strategies work again? on: March 23, 2023, 09:20:02 PM
Thinking about how trading strategies need to always be changed and how one strategy may not work for a long time, what do you do with the strategy that you are about to change. do you just forget about it completely once a new strategy starts working for you? or do you keep it in remembrance for the future. If you have experienced this before; has any old trading strategy that you decided to apply work for you? Is it possible that old strategies may work in the future again?
They still might be working but are less effective. They'll somehow become obsolete due to the change in market behavior which is why we also have to do some upgrades and discover new strategies to fit the current situation, otherwise, it was hard to make a profit. Meanwhile, we can still use some of those old strategies but not really often. I'd say it was less effective due to the fact that we can't rely on them as we need to look for other strategies that would really work efficiently.
Old strategies cannot be used all the time, as the market condition varies, so you also need to create a new working strategy or just revise or update the old strategy so it can still work and be as reliable like before. But  most traders do not prefer to use the old strategies as they can be outdated and become less productive anymore. Instead, they develop new strategies that will favor the current market condition and continue to use it until it becomes no longer profitable.
552  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you feel when....... on: March 23, 2023, 08:18:20 PM
How do you feel when ever a project or utility you don't like does very well in a bull market? I know that many people don't like meme coins when they were new in past years, how do you feel seeing your friends you call stupid for investing in shiba does very well than all your so called high-quality projects?
I can't get mad or angry for seeing a project I never liked doing better in the market, because for the fact that I didn't like it doesn't mean they ought not to have done well in the market. So if by mistake I happens to come across a friend of mine who invested in a meme coin an now has massive profit, the best thing I can do is celebrate with them, wish them good luck and more money. Because for the fact that I didn't like a particular set of coins due to the level of it's volatility, I will only wished I had grab such opportunity, but since it's already late, best option for will be to just move on with my life.
The best thing we can do for others is to never get envy but to celebrate with their happiness and wish them good luck that they may still be profitable in the years ahead. Learn to understand that shitcoins can be profitable for some time, but you can never rely for them to survive in a long term investment. They may be good in the beginning, but eventually their value will definitely lost or fade especially when new potential projects appear in the market.
553  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will you advice a new trader to join a trading community or group? on: March 22, 2023, 10:59:23 PM
As a trader, things can get difficult and discouraging if you cannot relate with any other person who will have a good understanding of what you are saying concerning trading, to solve that challenge, are you part of any trading community or group that you share tips and new strategies? What other ways can you say you have benefited from being in a community asides sharing of tips and strategies. Are you doing better than when you did things on your own. Can there be any major disadvantage being a member of such a trading groups? What is your advice to people?
Yes, I would want to encourage him for that. It will be an edge for him if he will be aware first on the real events happening in real trading scenario so that he will have the ideas on how he will create strategies on how to win his trades. Moreover, if he can develop his own strategies and skills out from the shared experiences from other traders, that will also his edge in the market.
554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: March 22, 2023, 09:59:35 PM
I guess there’s no reason to chose or doubt, because when time comes that our family’s health will be at risk, though it’s not the best time to sell, but it’s definitely the best we can do than to live with regrets in the years ahead. And to think that we are here to invest and aim to accumulate more profits so we can prepare our finances whatever unforeseen circumstances that may come. And when it’s actually happening, no need to hesitate if it’s a good time to sell, just sell your coins so you can save your family’s in danger.
555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | Unified WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | May 7 on: March 20, 2023, 06:58:10 PM

Reason why some are going to skip the fight because the odds are not worth it, or just bet on other boxing events.

But in any case, I think everyone wanted to see Inoue winning against Fulton and become a champion again.

The odds for Inoue are all worth it. Bookies are just trying to trick us here, but obviously Inoue will win this without a problem. The fact that it's over 2+ makes this an opportunity that should not be wasted, and I don't want to see people blaming themselves for not taking Inoue's odds this time. Actually, I'm thinking that as the fight approaches, the odds might change, so the opportunity is slowly decreasing.

Yes, I agree. These sports bookies are just trying to trick us with these kind of odds because they already know that most bettors will always go for Inoue regardless of who will be his opponent, that's why they are trying to make all the bets tempting but saying that this is an obvious win in Inoue's favor is a bit of an overstatement. I mean, there's no such thing as guaranteed or obvious in boxing and an upset is always available regardless of the chances. But anyway, these bookies can't trick me on this one and surely, I won't let this slide given that the bookies are giving us a favor.
556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 20, 2023, 04:47:38 PM
I see majority of users are think his fight will be close and it's 50/50, the good news is if you bet Ryan Garcia to win the odds is high for 2.85 in money line option. If I was a Ryan Garcia's fan, I will bet in the money line option since the odds is juicy enough. But since I think Tank will win in this fight, the money line odds is small, I will risk my bet to bet Tank by decision. I expect it will be a good fight just when Tank fought Isaac Cruz.

Wagering for Tank to win by decision is really not that bad and that odds of 5.80, it is reasonable as well considering the fact that both boxers are known for their KO punches that most of the time ended their respective fights but, in this case, I also think that it will likely end in a decision regardless of who will win because both boxers will be in a defensive mode most of the time as they couldn't take that much risks to give each other a chance to land a clean shot that will likely end the fight and will result into a KO/TKO.

I also anticipating that kind of strategy, adjustment is needed for both fighters as both of them will wait for an error from one
another, a slight opening can put them in danger losing the fight.

Both are known as KO orchestrator for sure both camps are considering the defensive strategy not to allow their opponents to gain momentum.

Though fans will aim to see toe-to-toe confrontations, but bettors will be happy with such a huge odd for a decision result.
And it's not just us because surely, both camps are already looking into it even before this fight materialized officially. I reckon that both parties already did their research how to adjust from each other's weaknesses and strengths and they are now on the phase of preparation according to their master plan. So yes, this might be full of defensive maneuvers while waiting who will first have the error.

Quote
Though fans will aim to see toe-to-toe confrontations, but bettors will be happy with such a huge odd for a decision result.
It will be good for us but not good for them as that's just too risky on their part, so it's somehow unlikely if I would say.
557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 20, 2023, 03:52:55 PM
I think it's going to be close with Memphis as the Grizzlies are on a winning streak right now. So maybe the Nuggets will maintain the top spot, but it doesn't good to look at when they are not winning.

And this might be a similar case with the Suns a couple of season ago when they are on the top of the West but eventually lost.

So regardless, they have to win because entering the playoff they have to build the momentum.

Now that the season is almost ending, a team that is at the top experiencing more losses does not look good to me. Momentum is very important when it comes to the playoffs. So if Denver continues losing games, it might not help them. We might be surprised if they are out in the first round. As per the latest standings, they are number 1, but they are 5-5 in their last 10 games.

The season is almost done and ready to move to the next round,

well it's true that team should bring the winning culture moving to the next round. And from those stats, Denver is not doing well though there might be a lot of adjustments to improve and to continue their chase in winning the ring.

Still too early though for that but looking forward to seeing them playing solid and start again with their usual routine.

Well, yes, I'm also rooting for the same thing for the Denver Nuggets because it's just hard to believe that they are losing in their previous games as that's not the true Nuggets. They are not inconsistent but this time they are and then they reliable enough but this time again, they aren't. It is just hard to explain what's the reason behind their losses because the stats are saying the opposite thing.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 20, 2023, 01:48:48 PM
Maybe the fact that Bivol defeated a superstar in Canelo made him increase his points.

Not just that, Bivol just turned Canelo into a punching bag that no one might expect knowing Canelo is at the peak of his career during that time.

According to some stats, 97% of bets on that match are all in favor of Canelo.

Just imagine how underdog Bivol is prior to that fight. -440 was given to him which is equivalent to 18% winning the fight. Cheesy

I cannot really blame them if they favored Canelo Alvarez that time and that includes me. I mean, why not? Canelo has surely proved numerous fights already that he can dominate his opponent even if that boxer is much more taller than him, he can always make a way considering how vast Canelo's IQ inside the ring and that's why people are betting on his side without a single doubt as that was his 2nd time fighting at 175. But unfortunately, the defending champion proved us all wrong and the he is not that kind of boxer who we should underestimate.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors (36-35) will visit the Memphis Grizzlies (42-27) tonight at FedExForum. The Warriors are bad at road with 7-28 record while the Grizzlies are 28-5 at home.
Warriors key injuries: Andre Iguodala (wrist) out, Gary Payton II (thigh) out, Ryan Rollins (foot) out, Andrew Wiggins (personal) out
Grizzlies key injuries: Steven Adams (knee) out, Brandon Clarke (Achilles) out, Ja Morant (personal) out

Any special reason why you pick GSW over Grizzlies at home? I know Morant is out, but they still have a lot of good defense for the Grizzlies. 1.90 is really an inviting odds, but personally, I would pick the spread for GSW rather than ML. But yeah, an interesting pick given that they're really terrible on the road. Just pray that Steph and the gang would perform their magics on the court to give GSW a comfortable lead before the final minutes of the game, which the Grizzlies have excellent defese and ball rotations on.

He already stated some of the facts and made a point why the Warriors are just too bad on the road, yet he wagered the money line on the Warriors favor even if it's not that enticing enough even if the Grizzlies are not yet complete and while the Warrriors core are complete, that is still not enough IMO. I agree, handicap/spread are much better.

Their next match-up is against the Houston Rockets. Let's see if they can break the curse.
