btc is legal in thailand, you all got trolled...

Not I sir.  What I'm saying is I think the bankers are throwing this out there for some media hype and as a scare tactic to test the waters.  The price actually went up recently.  Can't stop a locomotive.

no bankers did not, it was a drunk troll who posted on his own website. then linked it here in the press section and people started to think it might be true. there is no source for this and the logic the troll is using is just silly.
It's all over the media. Not from a troll.

yes, but what is their source?

keep in mind the media report that the real press is copying got moved out of the press section cuz "FUD".

You and they all got trolled.
When I first read those headlines, the first thought that popped into my head was "bankers can't make laws."  All central banks in the world are in cahoots with each other.  They decided to test this threat on a small innocuous country and see where it takes them.

I understand you're having fun calling people trolls but you seem to be quite the troll as you call others trolls.  No offense taken.

I'll bet this is a testing ground for other countries.  Kinda like the test they did with Cypress.  Bitcoin won on Cypress and will win here.
546  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Best BTC Pool for ASIC USB STICK MINING ? on: July 24, 2013, 04:41:30 AM
I'm using noob-friendly Bitminter on a Mac -- one USB as an experiment -- and getting 0.0087 BTC / 24h.

Thats about dead on.  Will take years for ROI. But oh well.

Please take this as a face value question: Have you ever studied discrete mathematics?
No, should I say.  "You'll never get ROI?"  I believe BTC will go way up in price.  Therefore ROI is possible.

Blockchain.info was down today for maintenance. Check their twitter posts for the time.

My Coinbits app says dif is dropping next to 27 mil.  How is that?
549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bring the price of Bitcoins up with Publicity - Bumper Stickers? on: July 23, 2013, 12:15:30 AM
These stickers are poor quality.  Mine's coming off already.  My other bumper stickers have been on for years.  I may get some made with better quality.

I was just pointing something out. Not really comaining about it.  I just thought it was weird.  I agree, praise is never given. Even at my job, I'm never praised for a job well done because its expected.  But I am criticized when needed.  I will praise CH when things pick up.
551  Economy / Economics / Re: Peter Schiff on Bitcoin on: July 20, 2013, 10:54:48 PM
Mish is on the latest Gold Money podcast and he talks about bitcoin towards the end.  He's just like Peter.
552  Economy / Economics / Re: Peter Schiff on Bitcoin on: July 20, 2013, 05:05:13 AM
I heard a listener's question today, "Do you think "crypto-currencies" (like BitCoin) will be generally accepted as a method of payment in the future?"

I'm not going to post the audio.  He basically says, "I don't know," then promotes his gold credit card company.
553  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Wanna buy KNCMiner? Prediction Data -> Time vs Hash Rate vs Difficulty Data set on: July 19, 2013, 06:45:52 AM
Did you guys read the latest KNC news letter?
https://www.kncminer.com/news

Apparently they're not going to ship anything from Dec-Feb...as long as there's no competition.  Interesting how this is going to play out.

Thoughts?
554  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: is cloudhashing.com a scam?? on: July 18, 2013, 11:20:42 PM
In their new youtube video they post a BTC address at 0:44
http://youtu.be/Idf3UeZ5ycM?t=44s

I checked blockchain.info and that address is holding 2004 BTC
https://blockchain.info/address/157i5gK7iN4bNAN39Ahuoiq6Tx5TaQukTE

In the blockchain transactions I see "Hal Finney" come up
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2436

Who is he?  What's he have to do with cloudhashing?  And why is he in the transactions?

If you scroll down you'll see a BTC transaction of 2000 BTC.  I'm not very good at following a BTC money trail.  But what's going on here?  Can anyone tell?

Have you guys heard about what happened?  I can't believe there's not a thread here already.  In response to this video/story, the feds stormed Adams residence on July 9th with a search warrant granted by the same judge that authorized Edward Snowden's extradition.  They were fully armed SWAT and cops in riot gear.  Adam describes his experience here after a little speech.  I love how he's still plugging his business from jail.

Please donate at https://adamvstheman.com/invest/ and yes he takes BTC/LTC.  Also listen to this statement released today:  http://youtu.be/J8Yga-2Sk0Q

Thanks!

P.S.  This kinda thing is hitting home with me.  In my home town, a 68 year old woman was shot and killed in her own home by police.

HOLY SH*T!!!
556  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC Miner - Jupiter device: which PSU are you guys planning on using? on: July 17, 2013, 05:15:35 PM
Alright, so any news on specific products for Jupiter power?  Also, what kind of circuit breaker would we need.  I've never really ran anything like this before.  The feds are gonna think I'm growin' weed like that guy in Canada, LOL!
557  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: is cloudhashing.com a scam?? on: July 17, 2013, 03:27:13 PM

They recently changed those estimates, previously they said that a 10GH/s contract (which in reality is 9GH/s because they keep 10% of the advertised hash rate) would have generated 50BTC in the first year. Those are impossible figures as anybody with a brain would know.

But they reinvest your BTC for more hashing power.  I don't know how things are going to work out, but I think the infinite contract holders will make bank.  We're the early adopters, the original investors.  The ones that put our necks on the line, took the big risk.  Time will tell and we shall know soon enough.

Thanks guys.  I appreciate the info.  I like the math ckolivas, thanks for all you do!  Donation sent (yesterday.)
559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bring the price of Bitcoins up with Publicity - Bumper Stickers? on: July 15, 2013, 08:11:18 PM

You will also scare people away by having an inane number of stickers on your car - also some that are politically charged, like ron paul.  I hope you either remove your bitcoin sticker in the presence of so many other ugly ass ones, or have a lick of sense to advertise bitcoin on a vehicle that does not look like it is stuffed with molotov cocktails.
I hear what you're saying.  That's my Lexus above.  I think I've reached my sticker limit.  P90X was first, then Peter Schiff, now Bitcoin.  I think that represents me well.
560  Bitcoin / Mining support / Solo Mining profitability on: July 15, 2013, 05:40:22 PM
I'm not sure if this was already answered.  Can't seem to find it anywhere.

How many Gh/s would you need for Solo Mining to make sense for an individual, at current/future difficulty?  And is it practical for a person to do it anymore?  How do you calculate this "sensibility" based upon difficulty?

Thanks!
