Many die-hard crypto enthusiasts want to see our entire economic system shaken to the core by crypto, fundamentally changing the commerce landscape and how we as a society interact with money. This is still a very difficult sell considering the steep learning curve and large fluctuations still found in many cryptocoins.

Every change, especially a massive one, needs a compelling vision in order for it to succeed. This is especially true in the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain. The problem is that the true believer’s dream for the crypto economy, while compelling, simply presents just too much risk for many individuals.

These fears have been stoked by the wild ride that Bitcoin’s price has endured over the last several months. At the end of December, Bitcoin was trading at over $15,000, rising to almost $20,000 at times. Just 40 days later, by February 9th, it had lost over half its value and sunk down to between $6,000 — $9,000 — with major price fluctuations occurring on an hour-to-hour basis.

New map: The pits of Atash – Part 1

Lisk Core 1.0 Testnet Announcement



As expected, we have continued to make strong progress with beta testing Lisk Core 1.0.0. Over the last week, we were mainly focused on testing and documentation. We also finished the last QA round for Core 1.0.0, which focused specifically on checking the migration process from version 0.9.16 to version 1.0.0 and integration with testnet and mainnet data.

We adjusted our Lisk Scripts repository to ensure compatibility with Core 1.0.0 and the capability to fully support the migration process. As a result, issue #2099 was closed. A migration from version 0.9.16 to version 1.0.0 was tested using various scenarios, taking all the edge cases into account. The team has been totally heads-down focused on preparation for the Blockchain Open Forum next week in Seoul, Korea, where thousands of token-holders and leading projects such as Binance Labs and Ripple, and industry stars like Brock Pierce and Tim Draper will mingle and share ideas about the future of blockchain, and where we’ll have plenty of limelight to share the Gifto progress and vision. It’s Power Ledger’s 2nd Birthday!

To celebrate, we take a look back at some of our key milestones from the time the company was founded in May 2016 through to now.

As well as the achievements outlined below, our team has been growing at a rapid pace. We now have 27 full-time employees (plus one dog) with more due to start in the next month (staff members, that is).

While it’s nice to look back on everything we’ve achieved to date in celebration of our 2nd birthday, we’re more focused than ever on the important work in front of us.

As our ambassador Bill Tai said last time he came to visit, we’re only at the ten yard line on the football field. We’ve experienced enormous growth and developed one of the best communities there is in the space. But our mission is to empower people globally — and we still have a long ways to go to kick all our goals.

[Recap] Pundi X meetup and uptake in Brazil



Pundi X’s technology has made its public debut in Latin America!

Supported by Google for Entrepreneurs, the XPOS was on display for the first time at a Startup Grind meetup event: “Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies: myths, truths, and the future”.

Held on May 3 in Sao Paulo, the event panel featured industry experts Gustavo Cunha and Emilia Campos and an audience of 40 attendees including a mix of blockchain enthusiasts and finance industry entrepreneurs, professionals and investors.

Gustavo Cunha spoke to the ‘big truth’ of blockchain technology: that it is here to disrupt the way things operate and we are going to see many applications in the upcoming years.

Our blockchain researcher, Joao, introduced Pundi X’s solution to the crowd and demonstrated the ease with which cryptocurrency transactions can be conducted on the XPOS device.

The demonstration generated a lot of excitement in the crowd and several questions about when the technology would be available for deployment, which were leading into conversations with participants.

We are pleased to inform you that yesterday, May 15, 2018, a presentation of the Synthestech Project was successfully held in the Moscow City business center.
The event was attended by around 100 people, mostly investors, as well as interested individuals.
Presentation of the business plan by Vladislav Karabanov, the Synthestech project’s founder, was very warmly welcomed by all presentation attendees.

Evgeniy Gilbo, experienced economist, founder of the School of Effective Leaders (SHAL), took a very active part in discussions of the project.

In the margins of the meeting, there took place very lively and engaging conversations about the further development and perspectives of the project.
