5401  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Vault Coin (Physical Cold Storage) Online Store Now Live on: March 06, 2015, 08:45:24 PM
Man, I wish I didn't have to buy 25 coins to get outside US shipping. I just might start an EU group buy for this, if enough people are interested in one.
5402  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.0 release on: March 06, 2015, 08:13:32 PM
It appears this isn't technically correct. In 1.9.8, I used the importprivkey('5Key...') console command to add my own private keys, which still works; in 2.0 there is also Wallet > Private Keys > Import. It might not matter to you: I opened my 1.9.8 wallets with 2.0, had to enter my password once and wait for resync for each wallet to update, and now have no problems. 2.0 is much less flaky than 1.9.8 was for me (YMMV)
Oh, I see. Thanks stingleword! I wonder why they would add something like that to their FAQ if it isn't technically correct. Well, let's try 2.0!

EDIT: A new icon once again? Hmmm, it looks pretty good.
EDIT2: I got that C runtime error, but after that it worked like it should. Strange. Oh man, I can sweep address, sweet!
EDIT3: An invoice tab? That is freaking awesome! These are some amazing changes!
5403  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Paypal chargeback, for the third time on: March 06, 2015, 05:30:20 PM
Your first mistake was dealing with Candystripes. Your second mistake was using Paypal. Come on, we had this so many times, PayPal is not a safe method to pay for BTC.
5404  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LocalBitcoins.com - a location-based bitcoin to cash marketplace on: March 06, 2015, 03:00:27 PM
I downloaded the app but never got around to setting it up, just seem to use my browser when using LBTC on the move.

Really it is not LBTC's fault customers try and do charge backs, it should be easy enough to prove to the bank you upheld your part of the bargain.

In this case i did not notice the user was using Tor, i normally deny people using Tor or a proxy and it would be nice if LBTC gave the option to automatically deny transactions like such, just like i can choose to have ID verification a requirement.
When you open the app for the first time it will use a browser to get your authentification to use your LBTC account. So if you aren't logged in on your phone, you will have to do that. Afterwards it's a dedicated app which doesn't use your browser. Just give it a try. Wink

And yes, it is easy, because they have to use an invoice number when sending the money to you. That invoice number can be linked to the transaction you have done on LBTC thus making transaction reversals useless (most of the time).
5405  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] LocalBitcoins.com - a location-based bitcoin to cash marketplace on: March 06, 2015, 11:48:50 AM
The only way LBTC could compete would be by having a great easy to use app with a simple GUI that is easy to navigate, everyone i meet these days says they prefer mycelium to fiddling around with their internet browser and g auth codes
You could try the app I talked about above. Yes, you need to auth it first which means passwords and Gauth codes, but after that it's smooth sailing. However it's not an official app so that could put people off. I'm wondering how LBTC could prevent someone from reversing a payment. I mean they already require that people use an invoice code for a transaction which you can show your bank. That should stop almost anyone that tries to reverse a payment.
5406  Economy / Services / Re: The BitSig Signature Campaign Bot. Campaign Managers - Look No Further! on: March 06, 2015, 11:40:01 AM
Oh thats too bad with Marco. Can't believe such an Old Experienced member and trusted can be Banned.
By the way what are the rules with Pm with which one can get banned
You don't get special treatment if you are an "old experienced and trusted" member. In fact as an old member he should have known better than to sent pm's like that.
5407  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bit-x wants a phone number to sign-up? on: March 06, 2015, 08:40:57 AM
They send a verification code to your phone if you want to withdraw and when you sign up.
5408  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SALE!] Unobtanium Pure Silver Wallet - Plated available on: March 05, 2015, 07:41:24 PM
Hey Mitchell! Nice to hear from you. I nearly messaged you recently. I'll pop you a PM.

Number 55 should be no problem. Maybe we can meet face to face for the trade (and not miss each other this time!)
Well, you can PM me whenever you want. Wink

And yeah, that sounds like a good idea if you ask me, hahaha. I bet that brings the costs down as well. Tongue
5409  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SALE!] Unobtanium Pure Silver Wallet - Plated available on: March 05, 2015, 07:10:00 PM
I would like a Silver Plated Bar, number 55 if possible. I wish I could buy the silver one, but I just don't have the BTC for it.
5410  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Damascus Bitcoin Knife - "The Cutting Edge of Money" - ONLY 4 LEFT on: March 05, 2015, 07:05:12 PM
Thank you very much!  Smiley
These are the Unobtanium Silver Wallets from bigtimespaghetti. You find them here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=825537.0
I KNEW IT! I thought I recognized them. Yeah, bigtimespaghetti is an amazing guy. Did the website for him. Grin
5411  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Damascus Bitcoin Knife - "The Cutting Edge of Money" - ONLY 4 LEFT on: March 05, 2015, 06:02:39 PM
IronMarvel, your collection is sick as fuck. I've have 60% of what you have, but man, I would love to have what you have. Could you tell me what those squary bar things are, near the Serp DIY's and the FiniteCoin? Or even better, could you send me a list of everything you have? Cheesy
5412  Other / Meta / Re: Forum mods? on: March 05, 2015, 07:48:40 AM
I'd say that generally isn't a good idea, I'm sure some exceptions are made, but wanted to head that off before Theymos wakes up to 500 staff applications from random people.
Yeah, you are right. That wasn't the best advice I've given lately. My bad.

Umm... mrprep's trust rating looks good from where I'm at. I'm using the default trust list:

I was talking about the "love" threads about him on here. Wink
5413  Other / Meta / Re: How to get a avatar for your profile? on: March 05, 2015, 07:45:16 AM
Theymos has said he will remove them if the user doesn't want it any more just not change it to another.
Hmmm, I thought he sometimes changes them as well (even though it didn't happen often). Oh well, my bad.
5414  Other / Meta / Re: How to get a avatar for your profile? on: March 05, 2015, 07:37:32 AM
They were disabled ever since the forum was breached last time.. And now I am stuck with this WorldCoin Avatar Sad
You can ask an administrator to remove/change it. Doesn't mean they will do it, but you never know right? It sometimes happens. Tongue
5415  Other / Meta / Re: Forum mods? on: March 05, 2015, 07:29:37 AM
This isn't entirely true, xDeathwing was pretty much demoted for scamming. Technically, theymos said it was for his conduct related to the incident, not the scam itself, since it wasn't clear whether or not he actually owed anything. Regardless, I think most people would agree that scammers by definition are untrustworthy, and it would be unwise to allow one to remain part of the staff. This all being said, there is a difference between a scam accusation and a credible scam accusation, which most of the accusations against staff usually are not.
Well, xDeathwing is a different case, but you are correct, there is indeed a (big) difference.

I guess so but could be a good thing if their is staff needed and not just picking people at random. Would give people the opportunity to work somewhere with demands and a massive community that needs mods. Already doing my part but some of it seems to go un noticed from what I can see but then again never really spoke to staff on a level for a job. Who would be best to speak to mr mods or some staff member to ask about a job on here. Is their even any currently going or is Bitcointlak even looking for members of staff?
If you feel like you would be a good addition to the team, you could try and send a message to theymos, telling him why you think you could be a staff member, what you would like to do, why you would like to do that, how you are qualified to do so, etc. If you are really active in a board, you could try to become a moderator there or you could try and become a patroller (which keeps the newbies in check). That's how hilariousandco started.
5416  Other / Meta / Re: Forum mods? on: March 05, 2015, 07:12:17 AM
I have a feeling Eal F. Skillz is going to be demoted, so you may be able to fulfil his space.
Not sure what you smoked, but I'm sure that Eal isn't going to be demoted any time soon. I'm guessing you think this because he has a scam accusation against him, but that isn't a good enough reason for theymos if he does his job correctly (which he does as far as I know). To be honest, if theymos demoted people that had scam accusations against them, a lot of good staff members would be gone by now (for example mprep).
5417  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: March 04, 2015, 11:58:42 PM
www.CloudMining.website sig campaign is now accepting all ranks. I think, the info needs to be updated in OP.

Details: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=917174.0
They aren't accepting all ranks, but some things did change so I updated the OP. Thanks for letting me know. Wink

Moderators have to serve public not to just ban users
Yes, we serve the public, but that doesn't meant we will do whatever you want from us.

Well, bad luck. We aren't your servants and if you don't like it, kindly piss off and find another forum.
5419  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: March 04, 2015, 10:08:14 PM
Example ; i discovered btc-flow and started a topic with my ref link and non ref link. I deserve to share my ref link. Coz i discovered. But after me if someone tries to open a topic about btc-flow with ref link. It could be spam but not mine spam. But to me if someone want to share his ref link under my topic it s not a spam. Coz maybe people refer his link. This is peoples free willing . They choose every ref link what if they want or non ref link
Multiple threads about the same website are considered spam. Seeing that BTC-Flow has their own dedicated thread, everything else will be get rid off.
