5401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: September 21, 2020, 01:39:54 PM
[CS:GO] My small picks for today:

PACT - sAw: PACT, 1.93 @ MY BETSLIP
HONORIS - Nemiga: Nemiga, 1.17 @ MY BETSLIP
Keyd - RED Canids: RED Canids -1.5, 1.62 @ MY BETSLIP

First 2 matches are BO1, so be careful.

The 1st  and 3rd sound like a good bet. For the Nemiga bet I find the payout a bit too low for the risk.

What about the ESL Pro League North America final this week? I am thinking about betting on Liquid or EG. Any idea for this one? Thanks
5402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Perfect Money safe to store big money or not ? on: September 21, 2020, 10:24:28 AM
Storing money in an hardware wallet is definitely a good idea, but there is no 100% security put there. A little bit of tail risk is always involved. So if you have all your wealth together in one place (like 1 million USD or more) I would still consider storing it a bank.. The thing with banks is that are part of a country, and the biggest banks are very unlikely to just go bust. There will be some sort of safety from the government to protect its banking sector. Also there are usually depository insurance funds in place. I depends on in which country you want to store your money. But there are more safety nets involved.
5403  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No time to waste - US has to act now to reverse climate change trend on: September 21, 2020, 10:15:48 AM
It's not only on the USA to reverse the climate change. Every country has to participate. Yes some countries can do more like the USA, Europe, China, Russia, India and other countries have less possibilities to reduce CO2 levels. I wish USA would take a leadership role in combating climate change but this seems very unlikely at the moment, especially since corona pandemic became climate change not important anymore.
So if USA is not acting on everyone's interest, the other countries should go ahead and be a good example. With a combined international approach we could try and convince USA to join. If Europe! China and Russia would work more together it would be a start.
5404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots 101: Basics, Strategies, and Discussion (with poll) on: September 21, 2020, 10:05:42 AM
I manged to get myself a few free slot games over the last weeks. I played roughly 20 rounds on a few different slot games, all of them were free games. And I didn't win any of them, not even 5 cents. Which seems crazy, or I am just very unlucky. Normally the site is very legit so I don't know what's going on. Or maybe these free slot games are just a way to get people playing again. Definitely a bit frustrating.
5405  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please reply Mr. Satoshi Nakamoto on: September 21, 2020, 09:46:55 AM
Hello Mr. Nakamoto,

I come before you humbly to ask if you could reply to this thread.

This would give the entire community hope that you are still out there, and watching your creation become what you’ve always wanted it to be.

I would be honored if you replied to this post, but seeing as you last logged in Dec. 2010, it’s a long shot.

Thank you for everything you’ve done. Bitcoin has changed my life in ways I can’t even put into words.

Sincerely,

A Bitcoin Believer

@satoshi

I don't think satoshi is checking this forum regularly. He did his work and gave us bitcoins. We must be happy with what we got.

For satoshi to come back we should try a big campaign, where every bitcointalk user would donate $5 and request satoshi to choose the charity to which it will be donated. If everyone would be joining we might get his attention again. I know this would be a long shot and not everyone would support this.
5406  Economy / Economics / Re: Sales of wedding rings are increasing on: September 21, 2020, 09:40:23 AM
though this has to do with silver and gold productions vs cryptos but you relate this with covid or pandemic .

peoples relationship are stronger because they spend more time with thier other half but this does mean this leads to marriage if they arent yet but others lead to divorce and breakup  due to loose of faith . how can they continue together if no job or financial to support thier family .

But with previous metal prices near their all time highs we would expect less demand not more. I don't think marriages  are correlated with metal prices. Sure the ring is important for any wedding proposal but who would not propose just because they can't afford the perfect ring? In my opinion the rise in marriages is due to the change in lifestyle we saw in the last 6 months. Thanks to corona the world became much more boring again. Going out was not an option anymore, same for meeting many friends. Most of the contact wad reduced to meeting the family.
5407  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ps5 leacked images in this video with dimensions on: September 21, 2020, 08:55:44 AM
There were many videos already posted in YouTube. I'm jealous that they get to have their Ps5's or it's just from someone who can move freely inside and out of Sony.

I can't wait for the release and I'm drooling for the Digital Edition.

Looks awesome the new PS5 but I don't think I am going to buy it. Not sure what is going on with the pricing, but why are games costing in Europe 80€ and in USA only 70$. I find 80 bucks just too much for 1 game. Maybe I will wait a little bit and see how this will change in the future.
5408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest for beginners on: September 21, 2020, 08:43:37 AM
As a beginner in the crpyto community I would recommend investing with a long term perspective. Instead of jumping straight into trading risky alt coins, I would go for a less risky approach. To get into cryptos it's best just to buy and hold some coins. I would go look for coins with a strong track record. Also holding at least a small fraction of your crypto portfolio in Bitcoins can't be wrong. Long term the bitcoin price will keep going up.
5409  Economy / Economics / Re: Possible Patterns of Recovery on: September 21, 2020, 08:33:17 AM

The Covid-19 pandemic has not only brought damage to the national economy and social life but has also caused extreme pressure on the international community, the health care system, and the global economy. Like a race, the sooner a country finishes the race and stem the pandemic, the sooner a country can enter a pit stop, the faster it can prepare a post-pandemic strategy. The sooner you enter the pitstop, the less economic damage will be incurred, which means less costs and leverage are needed to boost the economy.

The existence of a total lockdown that should have been carried out at the beginning of the pandemic was indeed costly but the pandemic did not drag on like what happened in China. So national stability can be maintained and people's purchasing power can be restored quickly and the paralysis of the production sector does not reach above 50%. Imagine if all countries take the same policy, the global supply chain will soon be connected again and the destruction of the global economy can be avoided. So the V-shaped form of economic recovery can be obtained.

The economy took a big hit this year, where almost all countries in the world having negative GDP growth rates. But the stimulus packages came very fast all around the world we saw governments injecting billions of USD into their economies. So while the real economy is trailing, the stock market is doing fine. Dow Jones for example is still positive over 1 year, Euro Stoxx is only slightly down.

I think the recovery in the real economy is depending on the future lock downs, if there is a second one coming or not. As for the stock market I don't see such a big risk because the government will just keep throwing more money into the fire.
5410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins with 1000% Plus Profits on: September 21, 2020, 08:12:33 AM

This is a typical pump, during which scammers select a dead coin in advance, buy it, and then, through various sites and channels, report that at a certain time there will be a sharp jump in price, thanks to which it will be possible to earn. This usually ends up with the price going up, scammers selling their coins sharply, and the rest of them losing money.

To get returns of 1000% and higher the alt coins need to drop first of all. Any new coin with an active market is very very unlikely to make jumps of such high returns. We usually see such kind of behaviour in not active markets where all the investors just forgot about the coin. If there are not a lot of traders in such a coin, the price can jump very fast with a small amount of trades.

A good indication of how the coin is behaving is to look at the volume traded in that coin the last 100 days. If there is literally no volume and then just in the day of the huge price jump, the behaviour look manipulated and I would not recommend in investing into such coins.
5411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any truly safe bets in sports betting? on: September 21, 2020, 07:59:31 AM
One close to really safe bet would be in football if you take first team playing against the last team of the season. The Payout will be below 1.1 so not a lot of upside in such a bet. But even in such a bet it's not a 100% safe. Every football player can have a bad day, we are all humans. The top team might not actually lose, but they could still play tide which would lose you the bet. I would recommend to not look for a truly safe bet because it's just not worth it to bet with such a small payout. Better to go for riskier bets with a high payout, even if you lose a few of them you can make a nice profit.
5412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Dade to open Casinos and Restaurants for the third time. on: September 21, 2020, 07:46:41 AM
As we all know the number of the spread of COVID-19 in America is still quite high, So it will happen several times the casino there closes
and reopens. So it is not surprising that there are casinos that have opened their business  three times.Because there must be an agreement
with the government if a casino is found to have a new COVID-19 spread cluster, it must be temporarily closed. Indeed, this annoys gamblers
when playing gambling, and will definitely make casino income decrease. But in my opinion, the policies carried out by the American government
regarding casinos are very appropriate to prevent the spread of the virus.

The corona pandemic is still new for all of us, the testing and implications of COVID-19 are ongoing. There is still no vaccine available for the general population. We will need to more flexible for the future. It's very likely corona is going to be around in 2021. I think it's a good idea to try and open the casinos, a lot of lifes depend on them and we can't keep them closed forever. Closing the casinos again is just a sign that corona numbers are being closely monitored and the government is reacting fast to rising infections again.
5413  Other / Politics & Society / Re: People are so slow these days. on: September 21, 2020, 07:26:57 AM

I don't know for the scam but then, that's a valid question that we all need to ask ourselves. As much as, we believe nothing is wrong, most of us who have been living in abject fear of infection from there neighbors is going to have a hard time getting back to themselves.
I guess at the end of this, a lot of persons might be needing therapy.

Let's see how long this pandemic is going to last and what the long term effects of corona is going to be. I wouldn't say that all people became slow due to this pandemic. Now with everyone doing home office, I actually find that things are getting done faster than before. Things that used to take a week to come back to me, now are usually done withing 3 days. And it's easier to get people on the phone these days because no one is travelling anymore. To say that everything is worse now with corona is not correct in my opinion.
5414  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to check whether your email address has been compromised? on: September 21, 2020, 07:22:39 AM
Recently I started receiving a lot of spam and scam emails into one of my email address which I generally use for my freelance work.

I wanted to know why there was a sudden bombing of such emails into my address wherein I only use it to login to specify website for my work and receive emails from my clients.

I knew something was not correct and I was determined to find out what was wrong? So, I took the help of Google and did some search using specific keywords and found two websites.

If you are also facing the same problem like me then you can use these two websites to find out whether your email address has been compromised

First website:

Have i been pwned?

Thank you for this website, I didn't know know this one before.

Actually I have the same problem as you. In the last 3 month I noticed a lot of new spam emails which I didn't get before. When checking your website I noticed I got breached. Had to quickly change my password and security question, also changed my anti virus program just in case. It's sad that the email provider can't offer better protection from scam in 2020.
5415  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless Economy: Is Society ready for transformation? on: September 21, 2020, 07:07:14 AM
Since the corona pandemic I have been using mostly my credit card for payments. In 80% of the stores I paid with cards, but there are still some small stores like the bakery where it's common to pay with cash. Also there are still some people in my country who have no bank  account or credit card. I think we will see a shift towards a cashless society more and more in the next year, but to completely stop using cash we are not ready yet. It's going to take some more time.
5416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is good strategy or technique for Toss Coin? on: September 20, 2020, 06:21:36 PM
As long as it is legit and you can assure that it is 100% genuine live game then you have a better chance of winning if you have good strategy or technique base on
what you are asking.

But in my sole opinion, it is pretty hard to create a good strategy or technique in this kind of game especially that you are only watching it via live which is pretty
opposite to real happenings. I can say that it is consist more on luck so I cannot say that there are strategies out there that can be used in this kind of game not unless
there is a delay to their live or they are doing something fishy behind the camera.

I agree, if you see someone winning consitently I would also make sure to double check if the game is legit. There is a lot of luck involved in coin toss games so you need to be prepared to lose some games.

We all know the shell game, where the dealer is making easy games for his buddy fir easy winings, and will switch to much faster gameplay when a tourist wants to play.

So if the game is really 100% genuine it's a great way to double up.
5417  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: September 20, 2020, 05:14:14 PM
If agricultural crisis continues in our country and government doesn't take actions to it then we will end up suffering from famine.

Not all of us do have a budget to buy foods and goods that we need to survive due to increasing of jobless people.

Businesses are closed and don't expect that jobs will still make you live, this pandemic affects huge sectors in our agriculture. The only thing who will make a way for this inflation to decrease is the government, a responsible and wise government. Let's be honest, it is really hard to earn money and work for it when a hindrance is really deadly and can cause someone's life.

If you know how to properly budget your money then do it, never waste your money to useless things.

This is really sad  to hear, I mean it's 2020 and we still have people not getting enough food. We are paying more than 1.000 USD for an Iphone but can't make sure that everyone has enough food on this planet? Everyone should definitely reconsider. The demand for food banks will likely increase in the future and is on all of us to support each other. Having people suffer from famine is unacceptable in a such advance technology world like we have today.

5418  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your constructive hobby? on: September 20, 2020, 04:29:04 PM
One of my friends just moved into his own apartment. So for the next few week ends my hobby will be helping him move in. He has no furniture yet, so it's going to be a lot of IKEA building ourself. Otherwise I try to go outside as much as possible as long as the weather is still good. Winter is coming
5419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Card counting in black jack on: September 20, 2020, 07:15:39 AM
Goof for young people who can retain their memory but how about those aged people who has a lot of issues in life, card counting is not for everyone, and you need a very high concentration and focus, you practice this almost every waking hour, I would not even think of doing this and there's a chance to get caught because physical gambling casinos prohibit this.

The thing with card counting is also that casinos are looking for people who exploit it and might ban you. If you stand for 1h behind a black jack table just looking very concentrated you will definitely alert the casino security. And if you then suddenly when the odds are in your favour sit down at the table and start playing for the maximum buy in, I would assume the casino asks you kindly to leave and not come back to their casino. That is why most card counters work in teams and use disguises.

5420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Worthwhile freerolls and low stakes high prize on: September 19, 2020, 05:34:08 PM
I seemed to stop getting the tickets from twitch.

I did get some in a chest but just for spin and go.

Also I didn't think they ran a twitch game on the weekends, so you may have to wait for monday

The spin and go free tickets seem a bit like a rip off to me, I never won anything in them. Or maybe I am just unlucky.

There is one tournaments today on pokerstars, they even buffed the prize pool from 3,000 to $3,500.

Will try to join this one, but not sure if I can make it today.
